These guys work off home warranties scamming both the customer and the warranty company themselves. Their business model is simple: 1) Get called out to a job, take the $75 deductible (cash only!). 2) Fabricated a work load to be done, the larger the better. 1) gets them 75$ for 10 minutes work, regardless. And if 2) comes in, they've a huge pay-out. If 2) decline, no biggy, they just drove to someone's house and took the cash. There are no winners here, aside from them, but hopefully only until the warranty companies become wise to it. The warranty company loses out anytime 2) happens, and the consumer loses out if it is just 1); a sincere repair request is declined because it was so marked up that it no longer appears as wear and tear to the warranty company. Why is there not a zero stars option? My late husband was a plumber. I know when things work and when they don't, how they work and in general, I know what needs to be done. I moved into my house in November - completely flipped house - new sink, new pipes from the wall (not inside the wall - but front wall to to the sink). That sink has been draining very slowly since the day I moved in, but with Covid I was leery of having people in my house. Finally called home warranty people and said I needed the sink and toilet snaked. Lately the toilet has been leaving little bits behind after a flush - not every single time with with increasing frequency. This guy comes in my house - NO mask - pulls a little hair out from under the sink stopper and said that would fix my problem and that he couldn't re-create the issue with the toilet. I explained to him that the little bit of hair under the sink stopper thing was not causing my sink to be slow since I moved in when there had been not only no hair but literally nothing in the sink until November and explained that it was all new to the wall. And also that my toilet was going to still be a problem. He said it was builder grade toilet and he couldn't do anything. He left. Nothing fixed. Can you give a negative number of stars? We have had to use our home warranty twice for plumbing since buying a new home in Garland last Oct. Both times the home warranty company sent out the same company, PipeDoctor247. The first time they refused to do any work because the pipe that was cracked was under the foundation. We called another company and they cam out and did it with no problem. The second time was today. We just have a sink in a bathroom that won't drain. I used Liquid Plumber in the drain to try to fix it myself, but that didn't work, so we called the plumber through the warranty company. The guy gets here wreaking of cigarette smoke and gets some of the liquid in the drain on his hand. He said it stung, so I reminded him that I had put Liquid Plumber down the drain. He stated that he couldn't touch it because it would ruin his tools. He called his boss and that guy apparently agreed that he should not touch it. He handed me an invoice and left without doing anything. It took them a week to come out for the first visit, and now he said that we have to go back through the office to book something else. We have a hot water heater problem. It is a electric model. They were dispatched by "Home Warranty of America". The person showed up, saw that the circuit breaker was tripped. Reset the circuit breaker and left. Didn't wait long enough to see if they problem was fixed. Tried to blame it on sediment and wanted up sell to a flashing maintenance service. We tried to call them back to fix it. Never returned our call. The warranty company was unhelpful as well. Stay clear of both. read more

Needed a wax ring replaced for a small toilet leak. Home warranty company sent this person out. He wrote it up as "missing parts" then gave me a quote for $700 to fix the toilet, also breaking a floor tile near the toilet. Meanwhile I have an itemized bid from Lowes to replace all the floor tile - which includes remounting the toilet with new components. The quote from Lowes to do the tile and toilet was $100 cheaper than this persons quote just for a toilet remount. Pretty sure this is a scam so he could keep the service fee for 10 min of work. I have since paid Lowes to do the work, and fired my home warranty company because of this. read more

Another bad review for this company sent to me by Landmark Home Warranty. They came out to fix a water heater leak and said my unit needs to be replaced. Well the plumber left my water heater off and I'm not sure what they did but we can't restart the pilot light. He also didn't tell us he had turned the unit off and left it that way. We can't figure out how to restart it. So now, I've got a newborn and family here who quarantined to spend thanksgiving with us and we've got no hot water for people to shower, run the dishwasher, etc. And due to covid, it's not exactly easy to go run to a neighbor to shower. Now that I've read these horrible reviews, I'm really nervous about having this company do the water heater replacement as well. Very disappointed in this company already and hope the rest of my repair is more successful but based on the reviews I'm seeing here, I'm not feeling great. After reading the reviews here, I must say our experience was quite consistent, although slightly different. Recently purchased a house, paid for a slightly more expensive home warranty company, on the walk through post purchasing the house we find a leak in an attic hot water heater, which is dripping through a ceiling into floor below. Proceed to get a plumber out asap to shut off the leak, tells me the hot water heater has to be replaced, puts in a bypass to prevent more leaking and I pay him and leave. THEN we file the claim with the warranty company, they send out the PipeDoctor, pay the $75 cash. Plumber verbally acknowledges the same problem the other plumber did, indicating it needs to be replaced, but since the valve has been bypassed to prevent future leaking, states he cannot formally diagnose the problem to allow the claim to continue with the warranty company....I should also note that his paperwork didn't indicate the need to replace it and the faulty valve....so as far as the home warranty company is concerned, there is nothing they can do...this is the "process". THEN tells us that in order to undo the bypass (ie turn the leak BACK on), we need to pay them $685 to complete this repair BEFORE They could diagnose the problem (again, already visually confirmed by the plumber what the other, original plumber diagnosed), I should mention that the other plumber who came late on a Saturday night and did another repair job for us charged $450 total to bypass the faulty valve. Bottom line, PipeDoctor is brazenly engaging in bait and switch tactics on unsuspecting clients that are under duress dealing with a home maintenance issue, self-dealing expensive and unnecessary maintenance and services, on behalf of a warranty company whose ENTIRE business model is to make people give up on filing claims by making their process and the companies that do work for them as painful and drawn out as possible. In general, stay as far away from all service companies that do work for warranty companies as possible, but I have to give a gold star to The Pipe Doctor for taking it to the next level. read more

I am very disappointed in Pipe Doctor 247. They were sent to my home on 9/2/2020 to look at my faulty water heater. We have been relighting the pilot light several times a day for the last few weeks. Since we had the pilot light lit when the technician arrived, he said that he could not do anything for us. He recommended to add more ventilation for the water heater closet. He asked us to cut a hole in the door and add vents to the closet door. He said this would solve the problem, but if it doesn't, he would need to come back and check a few other things. I asked him to check the unit anyway and see if there were any other findings before he left. He said that he did, but we added the ventilation like he recommended and the unit turned off again. At this point, we were not able to relight the unit. I called them back on 9/4/2020. I did not receive any response from them at all. I called their phone number (833)747-3377 again on 9/8/2020; the agent on the phone said that she would touch base with the technician and have them call me right away. I called back later that afternoon after not hearing anything and no one answered. I called again on 9/9/2020 and again she told me that she would call the technician ASAP and get back to me within the hour. I never heard from them. I continued to leave messages for them on 9/9/2020 and two on 9/10/2020 with no response. They requested cash upon the service call, but I usually pay through my warranty company. I am glad I do because based on the other reviews, it seems like they cannot be trusted. I plan on posting this review with several places including my home warranty company and the better business bureau. I would not recommend Pipe Doctor 247. read more

My home warranty initially sent a plumber here to clear a drain. He said my lines needed to be hydro jetted(false) at which point they sent pipe doctor 24/7. After about 4 minutes of trying to get his snake through the drain to no avail the technician said there was a blockage and I needed to install a 375-dollar clean out which was not covered by the home warranty. When I asked if this was a guaranteed fix ,they said no. Fortunately the home warranty allowed me to get another plumber that quickly diagnosed a clog further down the line, snaked the drain and it is now perfect. Easy fix. I can only imagine the poor people who fall for these tactics and continually pay exorbitant fees to crooked technicians for unnecessary work. They are not willing to do hard work and over charge for their services. They wanted to charge me $525 for a simple pipe repair which I eventually had a competitor complete for $250. Was forced to use these guys due to Home Warranty Of America. They are the worst. The first guy came and said he fixed the shower by replacing the cartridge. I questioned him regarding the fact the temperature was still not hot, but he said he fixed it and walked out pissed off. I went back into the bathroom and saw the shower head now leaking. I had to temporarily add a shut off valve at the shower head to stop the leak. Still dealing with the temperature issue, they were called out again by our home warranty to check the water heater. John Beck's technician stated the hot water heater should be at 160° when set to highest setting. Checking the temperature at the fixtures in the house showed max 124°. I questioned Mr. Beck and he told me water heaters don't go above 140° and 124° was correct. I then emailed him back and told him I respectfully disagree with you as the manual states 160 at the highest setting and submitted a picture of that portion of the manual. This set him off and he felt it was necessary to respond in a condescending way. He first told me also that they do not have notes from my last call due to them sending them on to the Home Warranty company. But, in the last message, he also stated he submitted the report again and to deal with the H/W company. I'd advise requesting any other company over this guy/company. They don't care one bit about you or your property. Mr. Beck just wants his money and nothing else. The tech I dealt with for the water heater was a good guy, but his boss is horrible! Look elsewhere for plumbing solutions!!! Below is a copy of his last email to me. I stated in my email prior that the shower and kitchen faucet both had temperature drops, so if one, that is a different system is still low like the other, something more is wrong than just the one fixture. The email also makes me wonder why a hot water manufacturer would lie in their manuals like that stating the temperatures were one thing if they are not. "That manual is made for h/o's such as yourself. I know what I'm talking about, thank you. Kitchen faucet & Shower valve are two completely separate issues and both work completely different but you're telling me my job so I'm sure you already know that as well ? If I could give zero stars, I would. Home Warranty of America sent them to my house to fix my shower, which was only giving me scolding hot water. The guy (he stated his name was Jerard, I think) showed up and demanded I pay $75 upfront. Home Warranty of America told me previously the company will come, and if the problem is less than $75, they would let me know and possibly collect less. Not possible if you're going to demand $75 upfront. I would have ignored it if he could actually fix the problem. He was incredibly rude, aggressive, and defensive when we asked him any questions. He also went outside multiple times to cough and split out phlegm, and would also walk around our house without telling us what he was doing, and would get angry if we questioned him. This man took the top of my toilet, stood there and looked at the toilet for 10-15 minutes without touching it at all, didn't even try to flush it to see if he could find a problem, and then turned around and told me there's nothing wrong with it. Then he tried to tell me the dye in the toilet bowl is the problem. I should add that another company came out on another day after and replaced the whole mechanism in the toilet and fixed it in about 10 minutes. So yes, there was something wrong with the toilet, no thanks to Pipedoctor. Then he proceeded to try to fix my shower. He took it apart, and it took him THREE HOURS to run our water continuously and feel the temperature as if he was waiting for the water to turn cold. Everytime I asked him how it was going and if he figured out the problem, his response was "I'm working on it and I'll let you know when I'm finished." He kicked my husband out of the bathroom and pretty much demanded my husband not be in the room with him. I was not going to let him be upstairs by himself, so I went and basically sat outside the bathroom for the entire three hours. He then told us he needed to go to the store to get a cartridge replacement, and the store was only 8 minutes away. At this point, I was ready not to let him back in, but after a heated argument, my husband and I decided to just let him come back and finish the job. To nobody's surprise, this guy showed up after over an hour at the store, and supposedly replaced a cartridge, even though the part he bought (I looked at the packaging) was a "mixlet." He sat around and ran the water for another hour without any results. Finally, he told us he was going to recommend "someone with more experience come to determine the problem." He also throws in that there are missing parts to our shower, and doesn't know if it will be covered in the warranty. I am almost positive he probably threw away a part to try to get that to be true. So all in all, this guy came into my house and took 4 hours to replace a cartridge/mixlet, which I don't think he actually did because I had another company come out after who actually replaced the cartridge and said the cartridge was really old. I should mention they changed the cartridge in all of about 15 min. Additionally, the other company diagnosed my valve problem, cut into my drywall, cut out piping and fit into pipes into wall and fixed my problem in about 2 hours. So no, I ABSOLUTELY do not recommended PipeDoctor, and I don't think Jerard should be let into anyone's home, as he was aggressive, defensive, and completely unprofessional. PipeDoctor obviously is not doing a good job hiring reliable, competent people, so until they get their act together, do not use them. Even if you have a warranty company, do not use them!! The place seems like a scam to me. I had a warranty company who was paying to buy and install a new water heater, and these guys wanted $2500 IN ADDITION to what the warranty company was paying them. I ended up getting the entire job done for about $2000, including the cost of the new water heater, which was less than just the add-ons that these guys wanted. While their customer service folks were helpful, it seems to me that these guys have some sort of hustle going with the warranty companies, or at least with Cinch Home Services. read more

As many others have noted here, this place tries to rip you off. HWA Home Warranty sent Pipe Doctor 24/7 out to my home on 4/13/2020 to figure out what was causing the leak under my kitchen sink. The technician, Bryan, was somewhat unprofessional while he was here, complaining about the tight space under the sink and acting like he didn't want to be here. I guess that's somewhat understandable considering all the nervousness about COVID-19, and I would have brushed it off if he had done a good job. However, he gave me a very vague diagnosis and wrote down that I needed to have my hot and cold lines replaced and needed major "water line modifications." That is also what he reported to HWA. HWA called and told me none of that would be covered. When I called Pipe Doctor to try to find out exactly what it is that was leaking, Natalie in their office just started talking about how it wasn't going to be covered but they could come out and do the job for several hundred dollars. I had another plumber come out and take a look and he said that diagnosis was totally wrong and that I didn't need any kind of water line modifications, that it was a simple repair job. HWA wouldn't take that guy's word for it because he wasn't one of their contractors, so they sent out L & J Plumbing (who was wonderful, btw) and their plumber quickly determined the cause of my leak -- a leaky faucet. So that's all it was -- a leaky faucet, that WAS covered under my warranty, and only cost me the $75 copay. Total scammers, don't use them. read more

Shame on Cinch Home Warranty Services for sending out PipeDoctor247 to fix my garbage disposal. Blair of PipeDoctor spent 3 minutes to tell me I need a new disposal for $489. However tacked on a modification charge of $189 (which Cinch rejected) because they wanted to put on a different disposal brand. My old plumber said he could put on the same type of disposal plus his labor for $250. PipeDoctor247 insisted they needed to put on a totally different type of disposal and charge for the modification change. These people are the worst I've ever dealt with. Buyer beware of this company. It appears to me that they lack the ability to fix the problem, or don't care to do so. I would not even give a star, though required to do so. They were initially scheduled thru AIG, which is my home warranty company, scheduled on 01/17/22. Their service provider, Josh Beck responded this morning. He apparently wasn't in a good mood and was even worse when I asked that he park on the opposite side of the driveway as my granddaughter was about to leave and his vehicle blocked her vehicle. He entered the house without any tools, at which time I told him that the hot water line and or kitchen faucet was weaking. He turned on the water line under the stink, then looked, felt and then had me sign the work order, claiming that there was nothing wrong. I told him what had occurred and what lead up to our request for a repair. He told me that the faucet was manufactured by Moen, and it was guaranteed for life. He went on to say that if I wanted to, I could call Moen and request replacement parts and fix it myself, and then left. I left the water line open for five or so minutes and while doing so observed water omitting from the bottom portion of the faucet, exactly where I had told him it was leaking. I called the company's phone number within 10 or so minutes and made them aware that the problem had not been properly addressed, hoping that the have the technician return. They initially didn't answer or respond to a voice mail message, or a text message sent to another of their numbers. They eventually responded after a subsequent call was made, asking that I provide them a video of what was occurring. I complied to their request and sent a photograph and three videos, showing the water omitting from the faucet, water which was running down into and filling the sink. They responded about an hour later after having sent my videos to "management". Someone in management later responded, saying that I should recontact AIG and have them reschedule their company so they can reassess the problem. I have since taken the time to read other reviews and have determined that this company has a POOR rating. read more

I would put 0 stars for Pipedoctor247 if that was an option. EXPOSED! I called my home warranty company Landmark to open a service request on back in April 2019 because the guest bathroom tub faucet was dripping. Landmark Home Warranty had Pipedoctor247 come to our house one April 22nd 2019. Josh with Pipedoctor247 was in my bathroom for literally 2 mins until he called me into the bathroom to tell me that our faucet/spout was old and we needed to push down the lever to let the water drain from the shower head. He stated the water was dripping because the lever was staying up and not draining after each shower. OK, I thought it was a valid fix. Fast forward to October 2019. The same bathtub faucet was now having a steady water flow from the faucet, even after the lever was pushed down, so now I'm assuming we have a much bigger problem. I call Landmark once again to open a service request. Landmark did not mention the name of the contractor they were sending. On October 2nd Durand with Pipedoctor247 shows up that afternoon for the service request. Durand advised the valve was bad and needed to be replaced. He cuts the sheetrock from our master bedroom to get access to the waterline to the shower/tub, cuts the waterline and plugs it! He says the water was leaking out behind the valve and he needed to replace the old waterline. As you can see in the pictures, he also damaged the title. The pictures I'm posting is what he LEFT unfinished! He said it was getting late and he would talk to Landmark to reschedule and they would pay for everything. Well little did we know, Landmark does NOT cover any Access to the waterline if needed and they do not cover any title damage/ title replacement. So here we are with a bathtub/shower that we cannot use. Almost a week later, October 7th 2019, I am calling Landmark wondering why I haven't heard from them or the contractor? When someone is going to come back out to finish the job? Landmark advises that they do not reschedule unfinished services and I needed to reach back out to Pipedoctor247. October 8th I call PipeDoctor247 and leave two voicemails, 9:09AM and 3:31PM. Didn't get a call back. I call again on October 9th, left a VM 8:11AM. I call Landmark to let them know I have been calling Pipedoctor247 to see when someone will come back to the house to finish the bathtub faucet. I asked Landmark to call them for me to let them know they needed to call me back. A few mins later I get a call back from Pipedoctor247. Natalie advises they have no record of me calling and leaving VM's. She tells me I am responsible for $300 for the waterline access and something else that Landmark doesn't cover. I let Natalie know that we will not be paying the $300 because if Josh (back in April) would have really taken the time to do his job and properly diagnose the leak, then the leak wouldn't have gotten worse. Josh did a half ass job, which is what Durand told us while he was at the house, and now they want us to pay them. I told Natalie, #1 I am not happy that no one has reached back out to me to finish the job or keep me updated about our service request and the job they started. #2 I think they need to cover the $300. As I was talking and addressing all my concerns, Natalie rudely interrupts me, starts talking over me, arguing, raising her voice. While I am telling her that she is being very rude and disrespectful she continues to raise her voice at me and we are both talking loudly. At this point I'm pissed that she will not let me finish what I am saying. In the middle of the rant, she puts her supervisor Kelly on the line. Kelly is yelling at me, not letting me speak either, telling me that I need to stop yelling. Not only did the plumber clearly not know what they hell he was doing, and left everything as is, making the access first before confirming payment as well as other things needing to be confirmed, the FACES of Pipedoctor247 are an extreme embarrassment to the SMALL self-employed business that Josh Beck is trying to build up. Pipedoctore247 is low-budget business. I have spoken with Landmark advising what kind of contractor they are send out to their customers homes. A complaint was filed and Pipedoctor247 WILL NOT BE used in the future, well at least for my property. For the love of God and everything good in the world, STAY AWAY FROM PIPE DOCTOR 24/7. Worst plumbing company I've experienced by a landslide. Companies like this will not last. I'm surprised they are still in business after looking at all these reviews. If someone named Blair is your technician, congratulations, you've been gifted with the LAZIEST and LEAST KNOWLEDGEABLE technician to troubleshoot your plumbing issues. He came to my house, looked at two toilets (though his report falsely says he looked at three), said the toilets were fine, and recommended an advanced water leak detection test that cost $450. When I asked what the advanced leak detection test consisted of, I was told nonsense. I had another plumbing company come out to check out the issue, and they were able to find the issue in less than 10 minutes, and told me the parts would cost $40... Needless to say, I'm never using Plumbing Doctor 247 again. Shame on all the home warranty companies (especially Landmark) that still have them listed as a contractor despite the plethora of bad reviews they've received. read more

Horrible. Forced to use them through our home warranty. I had water leaking outside for days. They show up, tell me they can't shut the water off (that's it's illegal and the water company has to come). They also say I need an additional $1000 in other repairs before they will do the work. They leave without even trying to at least slow or temporarily halt the water leak. I end up stopping the leak (temporarily) myself. Call the warranty company back, they send another plumber out. Guess what? They shut the water off themselves, fix the leak (put a shutoff valve in the same location as part of the fix). No out of pocket cost. PipeDoctor 247 in San Antonio are scam artists, rude, and unprofessional. Stay away at all costs!!! read more

I was contacted to PipeDoctor 247 through a claim I placed with Home Warranty of America (HWA). Two contractors from Pipe Doctor 247 visited my property to investigate a hot water line leak under my house. After the initial visit, I was told that if I go on Yelp and write a 5 star review, I would receive a discount for the repairs. After the return visit, the same two technicians came to take a closer look at the pipe leak, and that's where the problems start. They charged $500 just to look at the leak, and then were going to charge an additional $1200 to construct a new hot water line. What's more, they reported to HWA that the hot water line was improperly installed, so our policy would not cover any of the cost. I decided to seek out a second opinion from another plumber, who looked at the problem for free, and then said that the total cost would not exceed $800. Moreover, in his opinion, the system was properly installed, and just needed to be replaced due to wear and tear. In summary, PipeDoctor 247 was going to charge double the price of a competitor, and inaccurately assessed the piping system, which resulted in my claim not being accepted by HWA. I can't recall the last time was treated so poorly as a customer. I would strongly recommend against using PipeDoctor 247 for your plumbing needs. read more

Terrible service. As with other reviews, we went through a home warranty company to have a toilet replaced at our rental. They are difficult to get a hold of. We called to schedule a time and left a message but never received a call back. The next day we received a text message of when they would come. Our tenants said the tech came, did an inspection, took pictures and left. We never received a phone call from them. Our home warranty company called us stating the tech rejected our claim. It would have been nice if the tech would call us during/after to explain. Nada. I would advise to avoid them and if you are using a home warranty, request them NOT to use their service. read more
