Avoid this company at all costs! Why can't we give zero stars on yelp yet? Pipe Doctor 247 was previously listed as Beck Plumbing (which shows permanently closed). Owner Josh Beck and 'manager', so she claimed, Kelly Mayer are two of the most unprofessional and disrespectful contractors I have ever come across. Nothing but rude and obscene comments from the two of them. Kelly was condescending. She called demanding prepayment today. When I said no, she said the appt would be cancelled. She said to pay via PayPal, so I ended up doing it to keep the appt and Josh called us back saying he would not accept PayPal Goods and Services (only PayPal Friends and Family - which offers zero protection to buyers, but does not charge a fee to companies). PayPal Goods and Services charges a fee for buyers protection that is charged to the seller as well as any credit card fees. He said too many people dispute/get refunds via Goods and Services after his jobs are done and he'd be out the money. He said military all over San Antonio were doing this to him. Not my problem? Who prepays for contractor work with no guarantee? He said he'd refund the PayPal payment when he got around to it and hung up on us. Kelly & Josh, you are not friends or family, you are a business. Why would I transfer my money to you without protection? However, the tech we had come to our house - Travis - was great. He was knowledgeable, thorough, and a Navy veteran! I hope Josh and Kelly treat their employees better than they treat their customers. We had no choice, our home warranty company assigned Pipe Doctor 247 to us. After today's fiasco with both Kelly and Josh, I called the home warranty company and demanded a new contractor; we're done with Pipe Doctor 247. Don't ever use them. Terrible, shady, unprofessional, and disrespectful. I don't know how they get away with it. It probably won't be too long before they have to change company names again based on these 1 star reviews. read more

Had to use this company through my home warranty, however they were unable to even do their job! They told me my hot water heater needed a part and that they "couldn't find it" so they would put in a request for a whole new unit. After 3 business days that never happened and our warranty switched us to another plumber, who had multiples of the original part sitting in their warehouse ready to go! PipeDoctor LIED to me 3 times! Told me the part was ordered (it wasn't), told me they sent the order for the new unit to the warranty company (they didn't) and told me they were waiting for the warranty company to approve it (when the warranty company was waiting for them to even send the order). If your warranty company dispatches them immediately ask for a new company! read more

If I could give them zero or less than zero I sure would. Our home warranty company sent them out for a water heater issue. Turns out it had a slow leak. Thinking if the warranty company uses them they must be good, we went ahead and scheduled their tech, Blair, to come back the next day to install a tankless heater and "highly recommended " water filtration. The water heater works great. The install was the issue. First big rain after install we found out Blair had not put the storm collar back down when we had water leaking in through where the collar Should have been into the house dripping through the smoke detector. Fast forward a couple months, then BAM massive water leak. Requiring water remediation and repairs. $2900 bill. On the advice of the insurance adjuster, I contacted Beck, sent them pictures etc. They insisted it was not their fault and wanted to charge over $100 to come look/repair. Uhhhhh no thanks. Home warranty sent a different (read better) plumber. This plumber confirmed it WAS an install issue, as Beck didn't even bother to use Teflon tape. I have tried repeatedly to get ahold of someone who can possibly make this right at Beck and have been told for literally weeks now I cannot talk to anyone. Apparently nooooo supervisors in the office, and requests for a return call have not produced results. Clearly they have NO intention of making things right. Do NOT hire them. The technician Gerrod was really nice and cool. But my water heater was still not functioning correctly afterward. So I called to have them come back out. The customer service woman is going to get this business sued. She hung up on me because I had the audicity to demand that they finish the job I paid for. I hate to throw shade on them. Gerrod did a good job fixing the blowoff valve. But that wasn't the only problem, and the company is dodging me now. Stay away. Stay far away. read more

Landmark HW assigned PipeDoctor 247 for my garbage disposal not working. Within 5 minutes of "diagnosing" the issue, the technician claimed that it was missing a piece and this was not normal wear and tear and reported that to Landmark knowing full and well that they would not cover "missing pieces" claim. I requested photos proving any missing pieces. None were provided. There are no missing pieces. The unit is over 25 years old and has stopped working. PipeDoctor 247 is DISHONEST and is just collecting the service fee and fleecing the Home Warranty company as well as the home owners. Stay away. read more

Wow, I thought I was the only one struggling with this company. Home Warranty of America sent them to my house to fix a toilet and a leaking pipe in my laundry room in the ceiling. Josh came and took a picture of the ceiling pipes and sent them through his phone to who knows where. Said the whole plumbing system needs to be torn out and brand new put in. 10 to 20 thousand dollar job. Josh then put a new kit in the toilet. He never tested the system because the water was shut off. He wouldn't touch the shut off valve to turn the water back on. He said to call him and he would come back if the problem wasn't resolved. I call and call and am immediately put on hold and then I get disconnected after 20+ minutes waiting on the phone. HWA also trying to get the information and experiencing the same thing. HWA issued a recall and Pipe Doctor's next availability was 8 days later.... So I have to live 8 more days with water potentially shut off to my home. For my $150 bucks, I had someone come and take pictures of my pipes, not even touch them, and the same person put a kit in my toilet and never tested it to see if the running water problem was fixed. Avoid this company unless there is no other way around that!! read more

This was genuinely one of the most unprofessional interactions I've ever had with a service company. Vincent from PipeDoctor247 came to my house today to replace a garbage disposal. I paid the initial $85 fee to have him come when the appointment was made several days ago. I live in an older unit, so the disposal is hardwired, not attached to a plug like most. Upon initial inspection of the garbage disposal, I was told it would be an additional $150 charge to replace the disposal because a plug needed to be added. First of all, I was under the impression that the warranty company would cover everything outside of the initial $85 service fee. When I brought this up, they said that they had already communicated with the warranty company (First American Home Warranty) and that this would not be covered in our policy. Why was I not informed that there would be an additional charge if that information were already known upon the technician coming to my home? Additionally, $150 to install an outlet is outrageous. An outlet costs $1.50. When I began offering different solutions, like partially installing only the plumbing and not touching the electrical or just leaving the whole device and allowing me to install it myself, all solutions were rejected outright. At this point, I asked the technician if he would be doing the electrical work, to which he responded that he was not an electrician, but his boss was and he would be coming right up to install it. At this point, I was very confused as to why his boss was not coming to the apartment to discuss why exactly the disposal needed to have a plug installed. I was trying to understand if that was a state requirement or code of some sort (they never clarified that there was any reason other than company policy that they could not hardwire the device). Every time I asked for more information or tried to understand my options moving forward he would say something along the lines of "my boss makes the pricing decisions, I don't have any control." When I asked directly for his boss to come to the unit, knowing he was right outside, Vincent replied that he would not be coming to the unit unless I paid the full $150 fee right then and there. At this point, I was totally shocked at the unprofessionalism of the situation and sent the workers away. After they left I realized they left a pretty sizeable puddle of water under my sink, which was just the cherry on top. All in all, I will never use this company again and I do not recommend that anyone else does. It is incredibly clear that they send in a young worker who is told to inform the homeowner of extra charges that are entirely unnecessary for installation to get as much money out of you as possible. The fact that the "boss" was unwilling to explain to me in person (when he was sitting in his car outside) why he was making the decisions he was is outrageously unprofessional and shows how little they actually care about customer service. They should be embarrassed. UPDATE: I received several phone calls while the technician was in my home and I only now looked at the voicemails. The boss called me and said I was not allowing the technician to leave my home. I was asking questions to the technician, who had full access to the front door during the entire conversation. I never said or implied that he could not leave. I was trying to ask clarifying questions about the cost of additional services if I asked him to leave now so I could figure out why my warranty company was not covering something that they were saying that necessary. They were not willing to wait while I contacted the company, so I wanted to understand if there would be an additional cost for them to come back out. Obviously, since there was an additional cost I wanted to figure it out while they were here. Since they left, I have found out that PipeDoctor247 had submitted a claim to the warranty company implying that they had been to my home before they were ever on site. How were they able to diagnose an issue before they even stepped into my home? and I ask again, why was I not informed before you came that I would be paying out of pocket for something that I could easily have done on my own before they arrived, had I known, for under $5. The answer is that they are trying to scam as much money out of me as possible. Shameless price gauging at best. I looked up Blair Emerson (the supposed electrician) and he does not have a license to perform electrical work. I will be filing a complaint with the state about the unlicensed work being performed by PipeDoctor247. read more

If I could give this company a negative score, I would definitely do that. This is the worst plumbing company. Had a toilet drainage issue. Landmark home warranty company sent Pipedoctor247 contractor to my house. 1st trip, he concluded the issue is due to insufficient water in water tank and replaced water control valve. The issue showed up in next day. On 2nd service trip, they came up with the conclusion that it is caused by "foreign object" and need to replace toilet without even checking the pipe at all. Damage caused by foreign object is not covered by home warranty. They gave me a quote of more than $1100 for replacing toilet. I had to hire another plumbing company to check pipe with camera and they were able to find the issue with the pipe immediately. Be aware of this pipedoctor247. Liars! read more

If you are reading these reviews prior to having PipeDoctor come out, TAKE THEM SERIOUSLY, I didn't ask my warranty company to change to another provider after I read the reviews and that was a HUGE mistake. Every bad thing they say on here makes perfect sense now. Pipe Doctor will do the absolute bare minimum to get their fee and do work not covered so they can charge you directly. It starts with finding a way to charge for access (e.g., removing a toilet, which isn't covered) then finding any way to get it denied so they can quote you to do the work "right away" with a higher fee when they are there. Another plumbing company came out and confirmed all of those suspicions when it was done easily. If you get assigned PipeDoctor247 ASK TO GET REASSIGNED. They will come out quick, but that is probably because nobody will work with them. read more

Terrible experience with PipeDoctor 24-7 (Josh Beck). Like most other people this was the plumber assigned by my home warranty company (HWA). I explained when I made the claim with HWA and with PipeDoctor that the two upstairs toilets were leaking into the ceiling. Bryan the tech came out, looked around, said it was a concealed leak and charged me $75 service fee. He said he would follow up with HWA to determine next steps. Fast forward another 2 weeks and I call back for an update. They tell me that to get to the leak they need to cut a hole in the ceiling and it will be $225. Bryan the tech comes back out and cuts a hole in the ceiling and discovers it is--shocking--the toilet leaking just like I told him. He says he will call back once they hear from HWA. I don't hear anything for a week--I call numerous times and get no answer and e-mail them on 6/16, 6/17, and 6/19 before I get a response. They tell me the toilet flange needs to be replaced as well as the plumbing underneath it. HWA denies the claim. PipeDoctor tells me it will be $575 COD to do the work for 1 toilet (so for 2 toilets this would be $1,150). Since the home warranty isn't paying and they have a ton of bad reviews I decide to go elsewhere. I call Atlas Plumbing and Heating and they send out 2 plumbers after I relayed the diagnosis. They show up and ask if PipeDoctor pulled the toilet--I said no he didn't do anything other than cut a hole in the ceiling. They said there is no way he would know how to diagnose the problem without doing that. The guys from Atlas go up pull the toilets and tell me the wax rings need to be replaced. They do the work in an hour and charge $268. PipeDoctor: $300 gets me a hole in the ceiling and nothing fixed. Atlas Plumbing and Heating: $268 gets me the problem fixed. read more

Do not use. 0 stars if I could. Request your home warranty to change companies if they are referred. After looking at all the bad reviews I knew I should have requested a change. The tech was rude from the start and tracked mud around the house. He pretty much shamed me for using draino and then said as he was walking out the door (Here less than 2 minutes) we can't do anything until the draino is out. I asked how I can get it out since the drain is clogged. He responded with "I didn't put it in there so I don't know" and then left. Then the HW called and advised Pipedoctor had already submitted the work detail with an estimate of $475 to fix. After he left I noticed he left standing water and wet toilet paper under the sink from when he looses the pipe connection. read more

This company was picked by home warranty to resolve my plumbing issue. The guy came with what looked like his teenage son they were here a total of 10 minutes. His son comes in asking me to sign the receipt and I asked him what the issue is in which he could not explain. I walked out to older guy and asked him what the issue was...he told me to pause while he entered his notes to warranty company. He then stated he cleared the line (but did not find any toilet tissue or sanitary products) but there was a dip in the pipe that was likely causing the blockage and is common when your home settles...he was not sure if warranty would cover because of outside plumbing. He then said I would hear back in 48 hrs on staus of claim. I wait a few days and call the warranty company who inform me the guy left notes saying NOT normal wear and tear...no additional details. If this guy was being honest he could have told me up front...just another way to get a quick buck with providing honest and fair service....needless to say having a 2nd opinion. read more

Durand came to fix a water heater Leaking valve and instead of replacing it he broke it, I hear some banning in the attic, he came downstairs and informed me that the water heater need to be replace, WHAT??, this water heater only needed a valve change! Home warranty will replace it, but for him to installs it, the charges are $998. I JUST NEED A $20 VALVE TO BE REPLACE! Excess of force was applied and he broke it!! Scam artists. Sadly, they've been good to us in the past when our home warranty used them but now with a bigger charge, they're trying to overcharge us. Trust is gone. Looks like others are having the same issue especially they were dealing with busted pipes from the freeze. Just like everyone else, they make up charges and then get rude when you question them. My previous home warranty was just about to end but before then they sent Pipe Doctor out to look at our leaking water heater. Blair turned it off and said the water heater just needs to be replaced. The charges looked simple and the warranty covered most of it. We were charged about $800 and some change. At that time some things happened and we couldn't get the replacement. Fast forward a couple of months and we get the warranty again and have them send someone. Out came Pipe Doctor. Beverly comes in and sees that a valve we had to install due to the pipe busting isn't up to code. She added that to the fees but not only that, suddenly we have a new fees for "attic access". This company communicates through an 857 number and texts which looks like automated text service but then they hound you for responses. I asked what this $200 "attic access" fee was when the water heater isn't in the roof and doesn't require a ladder into a ceiling. It's basically an unfinished room. They finally replied and said, "Normally attic access includes having to secure the flooring and boards that need to be added for the WH to be moved into the attic safely". Boards? Flooring? It has a floor and the old water heater is secured and supported. They get rude if you want to prove it doesn't need any of that especially when the last guy didn't charge us for it and suddenly they want to add another $200. They don't want pictures. They want your money. My husband called and they got rude. "Do you want the water heater or not"?!? The next excuse was that the fee was to protect carpet. We don't have carpet. I called my warranty company and now they have placed a call out to them after the customer service also can't figure out why we'd be charged $200 when they didn't charge that before. They act as if we ran in and removed all the flooring and they're having to place their own boards to step on so they don't go through the first floor ceiling. They're desperate! Double and triple check the charges and research. Their charges make no sense. If you are stuck with them, request Blair. He's the one that didn't overcharge us. Beverly adds on fees. I'm adding to say after some texts, they began to say the water heater was leaking for a year. Another lie. The water heater has a large pan underneath so no leaks were happening. We also turned the water off to that side of the house. Then they began saying that Blair and Beverly compared notes and Blair magically remembers my house after months and months. HA!! An Austin plumber came out and saw no leakage at all, replaced the water heater and gained our trust. Don't use these people. Three made up excuses. read more

The tech came out and we talked about the need for my control panel to be replaced because the knob was broken. He said that he would get the part on Monday and come replace it. In spite of me requesting that they bring a control panel with them on Friday, they didn't and we were without hot water all weekend. I called Monday and they let me know that they submitted it to the HWA for a full water heater replacement and the company denied it, so it was on hold. He did his magic and removed everything within minutes. Then turned the water off, replaced the many parts behind the on/off knob, turned it back on, and off was off again. Scheduling was a nightmare. i kept getting into disagreements that My availability for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday was not being flexible for the plumber to come out and service my water supply line. Thatt took some two months with schedling changes and missed calls, the plumber finally came out. Now after a month of the initial visit, now onr has called or emailed to reschedule afollow up. First they gave appointment for monday and then moved to wed and then friday from 1 to 5 but never came or got a courtsey call that they will be late. I should have read the above reviews prior to using this company. I used them thru HWA. They ended up telling me that they needed to cut thru the drywall and replace the valve for 600 bucks. I called Delta faucets, who sent me a free set of O-rings and I replaced them and the shower works fine. Very frustrating to deal with, was told multiple times that they didn't want to try to fix for risk of breaking the pipes, when I tried it was literally hand tight. I could go on and on. read more

I had a home warranty claim and after a number of trips with me paying each time they come out the water heating is still not working. The technician was asked to check the pressure of the gas line by the water heater company and the technician said they don't do this. We would have to call the gas company. The gas company only will check the outside gas pressure. If I could give a ZERO I would. Not a company to let into your home. read more

Showing up early is usually a good thing for me, even if it is before 7am. Today, however, I was not impressed. The plumber didn't even have to hear the noise I was talking about, hadn't even made it all the way into the bathroom before he started telling me what was causing the sound we were hearing, which means he knew before he even got to my house that the issue was not my plumbing and there was nothing he could do about it. **Home Warranty Scam** Was sent by my home Warranty company to diagnose a leak in my kitchen cabinets. Long story short, we were told our leak was from the outside and therefore not covered by our Warranty, how convenient. The repair would involve drilling into the side of the house from the outside (through the brick) and the drilling alone would cost $4500. He said he can't tell us what the problem really is, how to fix it, or what it would cost until they drilled through and got in there to look. Apparently he thought I was dumb, I paid him his $75 fee and sent him on his way. I then called a real plumber to take a look and we all had a good laugh about the Pipe Doctor's attempt to F me over . Repair was quick, easy, and nothing but a small hole was cut into the sheet rock. Warranty refused to cover it although it met their criteria because they only accept Repair bids from their contracted plumbers. Such BS... total scam!! Could you imagine if I actually let these incompetent people actually drill a hole into the side of my house??!! LMAO!! read more
