I've been coming to Pita Hot for years and I haven't had problems with them until today. I ordered the half grill, which comes with a skewer of chicken and a grilled kafta, which I ordered medium well. I come back to my office and start eating the kafta, and it's bloody red inside. I've never had a bad experience here with the grilled items, but this was bad. Luckily my chicken was cooked all the way, so I ate that ok. The hummus had a weird texture to it, very watery, and it wasn't seasoned at all. I also ordered a side of the garlic potatoes, another favorite dish of mine. The potatoes weren't seasoned very well and some of the big chunks were undercooked. Like I said, I've been coming here for years and never had a problem with them. I'm not sure what happened, but I couldn't eat most of my food, which was very pricey by the way. I hope this was just a one off thing, because I'd hate to stop coming here. read more

OPEN during quarantine as of 4/11/20 for take out and delivery. Okay so it is time for an update since this place is still my favorite for Mediterranean food and big potions (see my pics)! Recently, I have been obsessed with their sandwiches and plates for years now since I discovered this gem 4 years ago. I hear that they are opening a new location in Buena Park in addition to this one by Knotts. I can't wait to check that one out! One of my favorite items here are the pickled turnips (which are on the chicken pita sandwich) and their garlic sauce (which I put on everything). Pita Grill is in a close radius to my new office and I love Mediterranean food. Back by my old office I was spoiled with delicious Mediterranean food where I would frequent at least once a week. Generally speaking Mediterranean food is healthy and usually good value. I think Pita Grill is healthy and good value, but the flavors were lacking from what I have experienced. On my first visit I had the Pita Gyro ($5.50) but the incredible amount of raw onions overwhelmed any gryo flavor so on my second visit I ordered the Pita Gyro without onions. The absence of the onions make it easier to taste the flavor of their gyro but it wasn't great. Unfortunately the meat was so DRY and tasteless. Not only was the Gyro dry, but I had the chance to try my coworker's Spicy Chicken and I thought that was even more dry and tasteless. It definitely was not spicy at all... and tofu chicken probably has more flavor than that chicken. I know Pita Grill is one of the spots my coworkers frequent so I will probably be back... but definitely not when it is up to me to pick a spot. read more

I love love this place. It's close to the hospital so I get food delivered here at night a lot. My favorite thing to get is the shrimp plate. It comes with skewered shrimp, rice, salad and garlic sauce and pita bread. The other one that I like is the chicken plate. I have to admit I don't really like the chicken too much. It's a little try dry for me, but a lot of people like it. The service moves very quickly. You order at the counter and get your food within 10-15 minutes which is super nice for someone with a busy schedule. Definitely recommend. read more

I walked in today on a whim because I was originally gonna go to Waba Grill next door but decided to try here instead. They had a really conveniently structured menu with a nice variety of proteins. I decided to go with a Chicken Shawarma plate. It came with rice and Greek salad. You could swap the rice for fries if you want. You also get a big dollop of garlic sauce and a pita. Overall the meal was flavorful. My only negative was the sliced chicken was a bit dry. I mitigated it with the garlic sauce, but alone it would've been too dry for me. This was also during a busy lunch period so I couldn't imagine it's old. Anyways, next time I'm looking to try the lamb gyro protein and see if that's any better. I'm glad that Pita Grill was able to find a new place to re-open their business, after closing their last shop in Irvine. They serve a variety of salads, mediterranean foods (kabobs, falafels, and shawarmas), baklava, hummus, and babaganoush (eggplant). One orders at the front cashier and then the food is prepared and brought out to one's table. I've been a fan of their chicken shawarma plate and ordered that. I also really enjoyed their kibbeh that they had at their previous locations, but unfortunately this location doesn't offer that. The chicken shawarma plate is priced at $8.95. It comes with rice, nicely marinated chicken, amazing creamy garlic sauce, salad and pita bread. The meal is quite filling and has wonderful flavors. I really enjoyed the chicken. I have tried the lamb/beef gyro which is priced a little bit more in the past and it was good as well, but not as good as the chicken. The falafel plate is a little cheaper but comes with the same items, I haven't tried it, so I can't comment on it. They do offer kabob plates as well, which start at about $12. There have a variety of salad options for those that are vegetarian or looking for something extremely healthy. One of their specials is a choice of 5 of their salads for $8. The only reason why I am not giving this place 5 stars is that the food is priced a little higher than what it should be. However, the quality of the food is excellent. Babaganoush: My mother and I never had it before, but I always wanted to try it. I even tricked my sister into trying it theeeeeeen I told her it was eggplant mixture LOL. Of course she didn't like it. However my mother and I, enjoyed this. It had a nice smoky flavor and didn't have a strong flavor of eggplant. Just a nice and creamy spread! The pita bread was thin and had a nice char. Garlic potatoes: BOOOOOOOOMB! My sister ordered them last minute because she didn't see them on the menu but they were there :p Perfectly cooked potatoes, nice amount of garlic with a lovely sprinkle of parsley. When I had leftovers, I added cheese to them for breakfast the next day :D Get them! Gyro plate: This was my dish. I'd easily get this over and over and over again! Mixed kebab plate: My mom ordered this. It came with the rice and salad as well. Her spread was the garlic spread. The spread is apples and oranges compared to Zankou chickens spread. Pita grill spread was a very smooth velvety kind of spread. I didn't care for it but moms thought it was crack!!!! She enjoyed all her kebabs, not mouthgasmic but she still enjoyed. With a little tweaking it could have been an allstar dish for her. My sister murdered her chicken kebab plate. I'm proud of her, she usually takes leftovers and lags on eating them so I'm glad she ate it all here! I think she was bummed because she wanted the ground chicken kebab over grilled chicken kinda kebab lol. I won't lie, having ground chicken would be bomb! Overall, we enjoyed our meals but the price tag didn't make my family enjoy TOOOOOOOOOO much lol. They won't be back, but I will! This was a great find for lunch! Reasonably priced, tasty and under $10 with a fountain drink. It is close to the Outlet Mall of Orange and Interstate 5. It is in a rather busy strip mall, but offers outdoor and indoor seating. If in the area again, I would definitely return. read more

I've tried a lot of Mediterranean but what brings me back to Pita Grill is the quality and taste of the food. Every Mediterranean food has their own taste and that's what defines their restaurants. Walked here from the medical center which was a little scary going under the freeway at night but was pretty clean. Strip mall here has several eateries. This place seemed the healthiest and turned out to be a great choice. Got a falafel plate and veggie plate. Falafel plate comes with 4 falafels, Greek salad, hummus and pita. Hummus was excellent and the salad though it looked like it would be too salty as it was drenched in dressing was actually light and tart and good. The falafels weren't hot but still crunchy on the outside. For the veggie plate we got the kale salad (excellent), tabouleh (also good), chick pea and some other bean salad (good), beet and spinach (little sweet), and roasted cauliflower (super awesome!). All came out to around $20. They have a bathroom there for customers to use just ask for the key. Got take out and had a healthy delicious dinner in the hotel. read more

This is my department's go-to when we crave greek and been coming here for the last couple years. Brenda usually takes our phone orders and makes sure nothing is missed when I pick up the food. My favorite is either the gyro or kafta plate with a side of their special garlic sauce... This stuff is pretty potent so make sure you have some gum or mouthwash handy! It has been almost a year since I visited this place. It looks like it has changed owners. Prices have increased quite higher by a few dollars. I usually order a chicken wrap combo. This time they offered two varieties. One kabab and one shawarma. I ordered the kabab. Pros -Chicken was moist. -Garlic sauce was good. Cons -Price -The amount of product in the wrap. (See attached pictures). Look at the amount of pita that folded onto itself. Nearly more than half of the pita. This product turned me away from coming here again.
