I'll be honest, with the kind service and beautiful location (compared to the outside), I expected a lot more from this location. But even after multiple visits, the same issues pushed us back out the door. Let's start with the good, and that's the service. A kind women man's the till who I believe is the owner, very friendly and quick to answer questions. They have plenty of staff and complimentary tea so there's not much to complain about. Their actual food however was simply average. The chicken shawarma was dry and the beef was overcooked and needed seasoning. Probably the best thing I had their were their seasoned fries, which I dipped into hummus to tide me over that lunch. Not exactly the most ideal situation. I've said it before and I'll say it again, with so much potential I would love to see this location improve. But with their current status, I can't see a future for them in such a competitive market. Give them a try if you're close by! read more

I have frequented Pita Town for a few years. They have consistently delicious and filling items. This time I ordered the shwarma wrap that was juicy and just the right amount of food. They have great tabouleh as well and you can buy pita + different kinds of hummus from them. I had the roasted tomato hummus which was okay, but next time I would try the garlic. read more

Great little place with delicious food and friendly staff. We tried the beef and the chicken Shwarma and for both the meat is sliced off the rotating spit. Clearly they are marinating their own meat, because it's not one of those pressed/frozen cone meats, but has actual beef and chicken consistency and deep flavor. Their hummus is also very good. The staff is friendly and accommodating, so you feel right at home. Definitely a little neighborhood gem. read more

Giving this place a 4 star based on service/food. Friendly service and the food was really yummy. I ordered the dish that pretty much comes with everything they serve. The falafels were SO good, along with the side salad, hummus and garlic spread. One thing I'll say is I wasn't aware it was halal meat until after I ate it, which is not something I'd normally look for. but- if this is something you're looking for- I'd highly recommend. read more

I've lived in Plano for 4 years and I used to think this specific location was cursed. Just a constant turnover of new restaurants. I think the turnover is officially over. I'll make this quick. This food is simply delicious. My shawarma was moist and super flavorful, which is really hard to find since most shawarma seems to be dry and bland. The falafel was really good too. The hummus is close to perfect. I loved the pickled vegetables and the garlic sauce. It felt like a legit and authentic street food experience to me. The restaurant is immaculately clean and the young lady working the counter was super nice and welcoming. I even opted for no bread and she offered extra cucumbers and pickled vegetables to enjoy the hummus with. Awesome customer service. Guess that wasn't really quick. Long story short we will definitely be back! Only regret is I didn't take a pic of the food because I couldn't wait to dig in. read more

I like the staff. They are super friendly. There is free hot tea available as well as mint and sage. The place is super clean. Smells amazing here. I tried the falafel wrap. Holy cow was it amazing. Completely my new favorite falafel pita in town now. I normally go to Bilads and I'm still a fan but wow Pita Town brought the fire to the falafel pita sandwich. Super fresh falafel and more importantly unique in the best way possible. If you like spicy try it with their hot sauce. My endorphins are running free right now. Went because of yelp reviews. So far I've tried the beef shawarma, gyro sandwich and traditional hummus. (Not all on the same visit) All were incredible. Some of the best Greek food I've had in DFW. The staff is extremely friendly. Can't think of a bad thing to say. Next time you're over in this area, instead of going to subway for garbage, come here instead and get a proper sandwich. read more

Super good food and great service! We had a group of 8 so everyone got something different and we tried all of it. The hummus was super tasty, as was the baba ganoush. I had the combo plate and was able to try chicken and beef, along with the Greek salad. Portions are big and the service was great! Pita Town is a little slice of Mediterranean heaven! We arrived right when they opened, so they served us hot tea while the ovens and skillets warmed up. They served us complimentary appetizers like their delicious falafel & sundried tomato hummus while we waited for our beef & chicken shawarma. I enjoyed Pita Town! I got the variety plate. It is a great way to try everything. Their falafel was so tasty and moist. The shawarma was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Everything was fresh. I cannot rave about this place enough. The chicken shawarma is delicious!! It has so I just flavor and you can really taste the love in it. You should also check out their packaged products, which is actually how I discovered this restaurant. The taziki and olive tapenade are phenomenal. Pita Town has perfected the fast casual Mediterranean experience. This is the only place I've found in DFW that does chicken shawarma on the vertical rotisserie. Great find for east Plano. This is a counter order shop based mainly on Pita sandwiches and wraps. They also have the essential sides like hummus etc. The restaurant was clean and had a nice vibe. Prices were very good for mediterranean food - think lunch special prices all day. read more

We have been trying to get food from this restaurant for a while. We tried it a few weeks after they had opened and at that time they were sold out. The next time we visited and they were closed. This time we were lucky - third time lucky - and got some food this time. We got Chicken Shawarma and a Falafel bowl. The bowl is a "build your bowl" where you get a base (rice, salad, etc.) your choice of protein, choice of vegetables, and two types of sauces. The quantity of food in the bowl is generous but not overwhelming. The veggies are fresh and the sauce has flavor, especially the hot sauce, which had a zing without it being too hot. The falafels were cooked to perfection. The Shawarma was one of the best I have had so far. The chicken was moist and juicy and not hard as you get at some pita place. One suggestion, please think of adding some leafy greens :-) The service is top-notch. The lady who took our order - probably the owner of the manager - was very pleasant, and offered us cold water and handed us our food in 5 minutes as promised. Overall an excellent option. read more

We stopped in for a quick lunch driving through Plano. I'm always down for a good shawarma and with the stellar reviews on here, surely we were in for a treat. We ordered the chicken shawarma, beef shawarma plate and gyro wrap. The quality of the meats and cooking were simply excellent. Everything was served fresh and the service was exemplary. The space was neat, well lit and practically spotless. However, as someone who grew up in the Middle East, I know what shawarmas taste like. And this wasn't it. Despite the well cooked, generous portions the food lacked a little something. After some discussion with my partner across the table (who also grew up in the Middle East) we realized there were two issues: a low amount of seasoning on the meats and little to no Lebanese sauce (a potent concoction primarily garlic based) in the shawarmas. Despite that we were hungry and since everything else was practically perfect we didn't complain. However we did check in at the end of our meal to voice our concerns and the staff member acknowledged that they don't put Lebanese sauce in all their shawarmas (just in the chicken) and there is extra sauce available for sale separately at a very pricy $6 for a small container. We realized that although they known what a good shawarma and Lebanese sauce taste like, they've probably done what a lot of immigrant businesses do and "tuned" their magnificent cuisine down to suit the local palate. A small disappointment to an otherwise excellent experience. We would send people with a weak tolerance for spice here. We wouldn't recommend this place to a shawarma aficionado. read more

Dropped by for lunch today and had the combo platter with a side of tabbouleh. The service was great even though they were short staffed, we were served by the owner herself. You can see that they take pride in their food. The meats were tender and flavorful. The tzatziki and garlic dips were excellent. The hot tea available for free to patrons made my day, added some mint and sage to make a flavorful brew. The falafel was wonderfully light and fluffy, not the heavy dense stuff I've seen elsewhere. Discovered this gem of a restaurant over the weekend with my family while in Plano. Glad I found a new go-to Mediterranean resturant in Plano. I believe it's family run and I love that!! Came in an ordered the combo plate: chicken n beef Shawarma that came loaded with 2-3 pitas, hummus, Salad, 2 Falafel, sweet onions. It was delicious and came out quick! I wish they added rice but you prob can order on the side. I asked for a little Tzatziki on the side bc Tzatziki is my favorite. Next time I'll have to order a full side. Overall GREAT place and great food will definitely come back and recommend to friends!!! Ps Garlic spread is amazing I had no idea that was a thing and it's changed my life read more

Nice store. Very clean and tidy and they also have free tea for waiting customers. Food is okay . No complaints. So why only 3 stars ?? Cause they are very slow !! I mean they only have one ticket to do. But the older guy (owner probably) was taking his time making the food . He was like in no hurry whatsoever! Jesus !! I picked up a variety of wraps to take home and try. All were good, but the falafel was absolutely the stand out. I also took home some dips - the humus was good, the babaganoush was on the tangy side, and the basil garlic was my favorite (can't ever go wrong with lots of garlic or basil IMO). I look forward to trying the other options next time. This business is family run and the service was very friendly. Check them out! read more

Following a much needed *complete* renovation including new seating and improvements in the back…read moreof the house, this latest edition of Smokin' Grill Xpress appears to offer a much more reliable version of the enjoyable experiences it once offered. For one, staff seem to be trained well and stay around much longer nowadays while the kitchen staff are working much quicker and reliably to get your orders out. I used to regular have to ask for corrections but that hasn't been an issue of late. As for the food, they have seemingly doubled the size of their menu so there's much more for me to try out, but their classics like the Brisket, Philly Cheesesteak and especially the Zinger Fried Chicken Sandwich have seen marked improvements. That last comes out crispy, thick and with a spicy garlic mayo that's to die for. If they improve across the board like that it's a winner. This has definitely moved to deserve it's spot as a local institution I would recommend and if this trajectory continues, I'll probably be back later to bump up their rating.

We got the Cloud Matcha Latte, Honey Lavender Matcha, Butterfly Lavender Matcha Latte, and Strawberry Lemonade. The cloud matcha was the one that tasted the best, the lavender matcha was so bland and had no honey taste. Surprisingly, the strawberry lemonade was the best drink out of all the things we got. Not sure if I'll come back since there are better matcha places in the area.

There was also a waitress who would walk around with mini glasses of Guinness handing them out to whoever wanted them. That was pretty cool too! Would love to go back and maybe try more premium beers and food.
