My wife and I have wanted to try Pitch for a while now. Since the Dundee location is not convenient for us, we were excited when they opened up their new location near Village Pointe. The new location looks great and has a lively atmosphere. We were seated on the patio which was shady and comfortable. The service was great from everyone who interacted with us. However, the food was average at best. My wife ordered the Margherita Pizza which was delivered with a burnt crust and had to be sent back. The staff handled the issue well and we had another pizza within 10 minutes. While the crust on the new pizza was perfect, the sauce was so watery that the cheese and basil literally slid right off as we moved slices to our plates. If not for the tons of basil, the pizza would have been virtually flavorless. For my entree, I ordered the special which was the smoked cheddar mac & cheese with lobster. I took the server's recommendation and ordered it VIP style which included pancetta, asparagus, mushrooms, and spinach. First of all, the cheese tasted more like velveeta than smoked cheddar - there was no smoky flavor at all. Second, there was a mystery ingredient added - very large clumps of a maroon lettuce-like substance. While the dish was ok, I was shocked to learn that it cost $25 - yes, $25 for mac & cheese at a pizza restaurant. I know lobster is expensive, but this was ridiculous. Showed up on Labor Day evening and were seated in about 15 minutes. Loudest restaurant I have ever experienced, but got a corner table in the rear, so noise was tolerable. Place was packed. Server was attentive. I ordered the pizza of the day, which was a shrimp and artichoke, with pesto sauce. My wife had a pasta dish, and we each had a beer. The pizza was the worst I have ever experienced. The crust was thin, burned on the bottom, unchewable on the outer rim, and had to be sawed hard with a serrated blade. I counted 13 tiny shrimp. The topping was watery and devoid of flavor. I about had a cow when I got the bill and saw the price was $25! I left 3 pieces on the tray. My wife's pasta was boring, and cost $20. Total with tip was $70. I hope things improve, as this would be a convenient place for us. I did not see the terrace, but have heard it is nice. Needless to say, I will satisfy my pizza cravings elsewhere. On a side note, I noticed a bottle of wine I pay $25 for at retail was priced at $80. Yikes! read more

Not impressive at all very loud and way way over priced for a big rectangular open room with a bar and some tables. Paid $14.00 for a greesy tasteless cheese burger with fries. Compares closely to a Bronco burger. Broncos wins hands down. Went there on a Saturday afternoon. It was packed and the parking lot is packed, cars are parking on the street. I walked in and immediately noticed how loud it was. There were 5 or 6 tables that I could see that were empty. There were 3 girls at a hostess station which, didn't acknowledge me until I interrupted them. Despite the open tables they said they didn't have anything at the moment. I chose to sit at the bar. There were no menus so I went back to the hosting station and grabbed one on my own. The lighting is dark and the menus are printed with a miniature font and it was difficult to see. I opted to look the menu up using my phone. Much better. The prices are discretely placed and only use 1 or 2 digits so at first you don't know if it's an item number or what. I was told by the bartender that the burgers are good. I searched the menu for burgers and found only one burger, ok, two.... with other without cheese. That's it!. The bartender went on and on about how spectacular the burger is. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries. The place was starting to fill up more and there is zero room for people to wait for a table. Me and those around me are now being shadowed by all these people waiting for a seat. They are standing 2 to 4 feet away and trying to squeeze between us to get a drink while they wait for a seat. Might expect this at a nite club but not at this joint. I figured I'd pay my bill while I waited for my food. Gave the bartender a $20 for a $14 burger. She asks me...do you want your change back? Wtf, seriously. Uh, yeah, why wouldn't I. Very classless individual. She serves me the burger and I expect this mouthwatering masterpiece. This tasted like shot on a bun. It was blan, plain, tasteless, just a hot nasty greedy mess of plain beef on a bun. I took 1 bite and almost slid it right back to her and asked for a refund. I finished my fries and left. I'll never be back. Way over priced. Not worth a penny. read more

The pizza here is pretty exceptional- even by New York standards. Good variety of apps and drinks to keep a large group satisfied. I recommend going up on the rooftop on a nice day to get some fresh air. Would come back again next time I am back in Omaha! read more

I took my friend here for her birthday last week. We met there at 11 am on a weekday, and the first thing that struck me was the blaring music. At lunch time. We were promptly seated and were advised the specials and told a little about the restaurant since neither of us had been there before. After shouting at each other over our table for several minutes, my friend finally asked the server if they could please turn the music down, which they did a tiny bit. We got a kick out of it because every 15 minutes or so, the volume would decrease a little more, so we weren't the only ones complaining. Anyway, I ordered a beer and a salad and my friend had a sandwich and glass of sangria. My food came out a full 10 minutes before hers did, and of course I waited until she was served to eat. The food was really very good, I enjoyed the pesto salad dressing, and the chicken on my salad was delicious. She said her sandwich was really good too, and the truffle fries that came with it were SO good! Service was okay. I think 4 different servers came to our table to check on us over the course of lunch. It seemed like every 5 minutes or so someone was at our table checking on us. It was a bit excessive, we lost track of our original server. The bill, after gratuity was $52 which I think is high for a salad and sandwich a beer and glass of sangria. We dine out a lot but I am just joining Yelp now frankly to give this feedback. Usually my experience with the meal is reflected in the tip. Pitch seems to be looking for image so I will give feedback here. We have gone there twice now. Generally on the weekends we like to take it easy and see where the day takes us. Reservations are more for special celebrations, formal restaurants, or when e really need to stick to a plan. One of the things we love about Omaha is how easy going it is given the larger cities we have lived in. Both times we have gone to Pitch, the place has been empty yet we have been told all of the tables are reserved. The first time we left. This time we were passing by and thought we would try again since it was early, the menu sounded interesting nd mybe the last time was just bd timing. We had the same story and were told that there was room only upstairs (seriously, the entire restaurant was empty) but that there was a reservation coming in 2 hours even udtirs and could we be done by then? I haven't had a restaurant make me feel less welcomed TWICE. I thought that the arrogance might be because the food is incredible. We were put upstairs in what looks like someone's basement bar or the kiddie room with two blaring T.V's. Another way to say even though we have an entire empty restaurant, we are going to stick you in the attic corner. The service was incredibly slow and we were pretty much the only ones there. Our waitress was nice but spent a lot of time chatting at the bar rather than clearing the table. The dishes got in the way of our next course. Setting them on the empty table next to us wasn't enough of a hint. I had to also ask that they be removed. I also wssn't a fan of seeing her eat with her hands while chatting and then serve our food. The food was OK although the vote at the table was that the meatballs were like Chef Boyardee and anything containing lettuce was drowned in dressing. Pizzas were great. When we left about an hour and a half later, the entire place was still empty. I think that they are trying to make it seem hip and desired and that you have to have a reservation to get in but what they are providing doesn't make the mark. Don't try to be what you aren't. Your crowd is casual and will likely walk in. If friends gather to watch the blaring T.V.s they wil probably have unplanned friends come to join. You are essentially set up as a pizza bar with slightly better food and your menu is limited although there are some good items. Loosen up and keep at least some area set aside for walkins in your main area. Being uptight and unwelcoming doesn't make it easier to justify an expensive pizza. The best places I have found were by chance and were welcoming of that business and even when busy are not snotty like your hostess was. It isn't relaxing to feel unwelcomed. I've seen other comments here on the service. Act like you actually value your customers. read more

Went to Pitch for my birthday the other night. Split the meatballs with my husband as well as the filet. We were pumped about the new creamy gnocchi that came with the filet and it was so so delicious. It was half off wine night so our server Mark helped suggest a couple wines. The one we settled on was out so he brought over another gentleman that helped write the wine menu and we picked out a new and REALLY GOOD bottle instead. We had an amazing dinner and really enjoyed being taken care of by Mark. Our service and food were both the best we have had in quite some time anywhere. We will be back!! We had lunch at Pitch recently. I thought it was good, I enjoyed my meal and the wine, and the charred artichoke stems appetizer was fantastic! Highly recommend trying that. My finance ordered the Mia pizza and I got the shrimp scampi rigatoni. The pizza was very good. It wasn't out of this world and the most incredible thing I've ever had, but it was definitely good. The waiter was an excellent sales person and up-sold us on the appetizer, and up-sold me on switching from rigatoni to their house made noodles. My pasta was good, but for 22+ dollars for a lunch meal it should have been outstanding. It was good, but lacking a little bit of flavor. I really wanted something about the sauce to POP, but it just was a standard cream sauce and not overly flavorful at all. That was really the most disappointing part. The service was quick and attentive and the food came out at a good pace. Only other thing, and this is minor but still, I happened to be the one who paid for lunch and the waiter brought the check back and immediately handed it to my fiance. Pay attention to that if you are a server, its not 1950 and women pay for meals too. We will return as it was overall a good experience. read more

Finally made it to West O Pitch. We decided to stop in for a nightcap since it's just a few minutes from home. It's a lot like the one in Dundee except the place is bigger. It was already around 9 but it was still busy especially in the bar area where we always prefer to sit. Timing was perfect, the manager (I believe) waited on us so we had a chance to visit and ask questions about the place. He was personable and whether he has his own "pitch" lines (no pun intended) when it comes to talking to customers (age wise), we were impressed with his comments. They wanted to capture the same clientele as the one in Dundee, being that it's in West O however, the clientele will be a slightly different. As in old money versus new money. I liked the fact that he said they want to avoid the young crowd who are into shots with the goal of getting smashed. LOL. Definitely our place to go! Since we were only there for cocktails we didn't have the opportunity to try the food. However, I'm sure it's just as good as the one in Dundee! read more

I remember when I was young my Grandma telling me that people shouldn't be noisy in the house......not the case at Pitch. I was astounded by the noise as we were led to our table. We began our meal with the Truffle Fries....some cooks should avoid Truffle Oil when they are unsure on how to use it. And it was apparent when almost all the Fries were untouched by our party of four. Two fries and that was that. The next Starter was the Wings. I've never bitten into a Chicken Wing with a broken bone....ever. It was as if I was chewing on plastic. The next two wings I ate were as good as ya get in any bar. No big whoop. The Meatball Starter was ok. Not the quality that we make at home, but for a frozen Meatball, not bad . The Sauce we were served was fair as well. In a pinch it'll do...I suppose like any jarred sauce. The disaster was the Bolognese. I knew there was a problem just by looking at it.....the noodles were swimming in Sauce....Sauce is a Condiment, not the star of the dish. It should be an accent....in this case the noodles were overwhelmed by it. And the biggest sin a cook can commit with pasta is to under or overcook it. The Pappardella was RUBBER! The cook was clueless....and he does this for a living! The server (who was great) apologized and brought another one to me with the exact same result. I've heard he pretentious rave about this place and that was my first clue. I've heard those that know good food say it was nothing special and that was my second. Pitch! We heard about this from all of our friends so we thought this was a sure nice meal with a nice setting. The environment was great with an awesome space. The food and the service on the other hand, was not something to die for. At all. Our server looked at us multiple times knowing that we needed assistance but we literally had to call him over to get his attention. The best part of our meal was the appetizer wings which were very delicious and the meat fell right off the bone. The entrees though lacked anything special and were just all around uneventful. We recommend eating at another Italian/American restaurant and to not waste your time and money on this. read more

We went to Pitch West last Friday for happy hour, and had an okay time. We shared the flatbread, which was more like a salad than a flatbread, but tasted good. We shared the pesto chicken pizza, and ordered it with no tomatoes. When the pie arrived, tomatoes were on the pizza. Our server realized this before he served it, and asked us if we would like a new pie, or if we just wanted to pick off the tomatoes. We took the pizza as is, and my friend just picked off her tomatoes. (I like them, so this didn't bother me) As an unprompted make good, our server brought us a free slice of tiramisu. Overall the service was very good, but the prices are high, if you are not going during happy hour. Also, at 5:30pm, they were packed and we had to sit at the bar. Expect to wait if you want to be seated at a table. This place does incredible business. read more

This is the second time that I have been to the West location and the service has been great both times. The food is just ok and does not stand up to the food at the Dundee location. On this visit I had the meatballs with the Wedge salad. Meatballs were pretty good but the salad was blah. I should say the dressing was blah. Several of us had that salad and everyone had the same impression. It is supposed to be a creamy gorgonzola and had absolutely no flavor. That dressing should stand out but instead tasted like a watered down ranch. it would be great if the dressing has no flavor to maybe add some bleu cheese crumbles to give it some flavor. The pancetta was good but three tiny pieces was all that was there. Our group shared the calamari which was overcooked but the wings got good reviews . Some of the group had various pizzas and they were rated pretty decent as well. the ambience is pretty fun and this summer will be great when we can utilize their patios. read more

First time going there for my husband and I. He loved the lighting in there it wasn't very hard on his eyes which is always a problem for us when we go out..I got onion rings half and it was great, I thought that the side stuff looked like nacho cheese but was very flavorful and a little Spivey which I loved. I then order scampi taga something some sort of noodle they make in house..not much of a huge fan of lemon flavor in my pasta but worked so well with the shrimp..I loved it..my husband ordered a Long Island and he liked it said it was very well mixed..our server was amazing with it being our first time I asked what he'd recommend and he recommended a lot of good choices. My husband also order a burger that was medium rare and it came out medium rare it was a very big burger that Ik I wouldn't be able to eat..overall I would definitely recommend this place for its fresh food, cleanliness, polite staff, and quality. read more

Atmosphere and quality of ingredients are good but there are just a few things off. First off it pricey for what you get. The sandwiches come with a mountain of French fries. I have had the meatball sandwich 3 times and every time the fries are over cooked. So if you like fries as hard as potato chips, you will like them. Ordered the Thai chicken salad and it was almost like eating soup. Very little lettuce and the chicken was covered in sauce. So if you want to eat healthy...this is not the place for you. read more

Ordered take out from the west store and just the spaghetti and meatballs and a pizza. Love pitch but this was terrible!! Noodles were mushy and stuck together. The meatballs were very small and only 4. No flavor! Nothing like there appetizer meatballs. Pizza was fine. I think I will continue to drive to pitch dundee even though I live 10 minutes from the west one. read more

Went back to Pitch this past week and service was much better. Our waitress, Kat, was wonderful. Our food still came out at very different times but hopefully that will continue to get better as they work on it the new restaurant kinks. My friends and I visited Pitch late Saturday for drinks. We were looking for someplace nearby with a patio to enjoy the weather. The friendly host invited us to go upstairs where "seating was open". We found a table on the patio and were greeted rudely by the server. "For future reference, the host needs to seat you here. It's alright tonight since we're not busy," she informed us. Obviously there was some confusion about seating. Regardless, we ordered drinks and didn't see the server again until she presented our check. Luckily we had already eaten as we were never offered the chance to order food. Compared to the Dundee location, service at this spot continues to leave a lot to be desired. read more

Pitch was absolutely fantastic. I enjoy visiting all the pizzerias around Omaha and have found many enjoyable places. Pitch is quite possibly the best. Their menu is incredibly diverse and sure to please anyone! From the appetizers, to the cocktails, to the pizza, to the outstanding dessert, Pitch kept us happy throughout the evening. Chef Manny is a genius! We came with a large group and were seated immediately, and I mean immediately. We never had to wait, even though they were completely full. As for the staff, I cannot recommend them enough. Nick is an outstanding server, and I would be sure to ask for him at each visit! The managers were friendly and helpful, from the moment we walked in the door. Pitch is truly a signature Omaha stop, and one that all visitors and residents should enjoy! read more

Service is TERRIBLE but location is great (remember Firebirds is a hop skip and a jump away with terrific service, food and atmosphere). Pitch Dundee location has much better service but small building. Food is good (no wow factor). Of the multiple times I have been to the Pitch West location it never fails that a food order is forgotten about. Eventually IF you remind them about the food that you ordered and didn't receive, they will promptly place the order with quick turn around and you still get charged full price. Poor customer service!!! Beer is cold but Pizza's are average. read more

My daughter was at Pitch (out west) on Saturday. She is currently nursing her daughter, who is 4 months old and has allergies to dairy, soy, wheat, nuts and eggs. Thus, if mom eats anything made from or added to it any of these items, my granddaughter suffers. Because babies don't have the adequate necessary lining in their stomachs, they are in pain, and also causing them to have blood in their stools. Not something any mom or dad wants to see. As they ordered from the menu, my daughter made her allergies known to the server, whom she says left their table to speak with the chef. The server returned with a recommendation of what would be safe to eat. Now, keep in mind my daughter's no dummy about this stuff -- she's been dealing with it since the baby was born and she's an RN. Her mistake? She trusted Pitch's employees -- the server and the chef, which I'd like to mention NEVER came out himself to answer any questions as the preparer of food. What happened next? Baby in pain, blood in stool the very next day. Pitch needs to realize and take allergies seriously. And if they cannot say with 100% certainty that the food ordered is clear of those allergins, they need to tell their customers. There are establishments that do this, why doesn't Pitch? read more

5:45 on a Friday night, there seemed to be more people than capacity just in the entry. Our reservation meant sharing a table with spillover from the bar, and it had to have been 85 degrees inside. The food came quickly, and the happy hour pricing was more than fair, but the pizza was dry, lacked flavor, and required a knife to get through the crust. I just had dinner with my friends visiting from Europe, it was a big mistake. The food itself was amazing, the drinks were awful but the service is just dreadful, the waiter bring the wrong stuff that you have to paid for, if you say something you will get attitude and they will not make it right, after that I got the shrift manager "Kat" who was just awful, very rude and with a crappy attitude, after that I got the assistant manager Scott who tells me that I made Kat feel bad, and give me more attitude, they never apologize for their crappy service and their horrible attitude, at the end of the night I had to paid for the mistake, and to top that they toke the jar of alcohol I paid for and it was the wrong order with out even saying excuse me. We go to Pitch frequently and really like the atmosphere as well as the food and service. Angelica has been our bartender there a number of times and we really like her! She provides great service with a smile and warm personality. She is one of the main reasons we go there...in addition to the meatballs and pizza. My fiance and I wanted to try Pitch since we always see how crowded it is. We figured that it must be good.... we were so wrong. First, we asked to sit upstairs at the bar so we could watch our football game. When we saw that the TVs were not located in an area that was visible from the bar, we decided to just grab a table. We were told that we had to go back downstairs to ask the hostess to seat us. We walked downstairs and got a hostess. Following the hostess back up the stairs, I noticed that her 'leggings' were not meant to be worn as pants as I could see straight through them and directly into her naked crack (I'm a lady, so I wasn't being a perv). Once we were seated, it took our waitress 10 minutes to bring us a water. About 15 minutes later, in passing, she took our order. I ordered the Bianca Verde, and my fiance ordered the Margherita. Two minutes later, she came back to the table to verify our order which she had remembered incorrectly. Our pizza arrived fairly quickly. However a table behind us had received their pizza which was the wrong order. We were able to hear the wait staff decide what to do about the order that was obviously entered incorrectly. The staff had no problem letting everyone hear and see their feelings. Our waitress had to leave the upstairs area at one point because she couldn't hold back her tears. Even though there were at least 4 wait staff and 3 food runners, everyone around us had very slow or nonexistent service. Other tables had to come inside to ask the bartender for a waiter. Our pizza was bland. The Margherita was the worst my fiance had ever had, and the Bianca Verde had no flavor. We only ate as much as we did because we were so hungry. It might have been easier to try and enjoy the food if the flies would have left us alone. As soon as we got the check, we flew out of there. Needless to say, we will never go back. read more

We just visited the West Omaha location for a relaxing dinner out with a couple that we haven't seen in a while. We are new parents and found a sitter and had a fantastic night planned out with dinner, drinks and some desert at this small local restaurant. Unfortunately at an hour and 20 minutes into our evening, the "hostess" came over an demanded that we either leave in 10 minutes or move to the bar to continue our evening. She said "you should have been told you only have 90 minutes". Well, one we were not or we never would have spent our money at this establishment and two, most places would be proud that we choose their establishment to continue spending money as long as we were being friendly, and respectful, which I assure you we were. It's insulting to me that I have been to some of the best restaurants in the United States and yet at a local restaurant I get kicked out on a timer. I'm sadden that you are considered a part of the community and I hope that visitors to our area are treated with more respect than we were this evening. Thanks for your time, I'm sure it's your managerial policy that your "hostess" was following, so I am wasting my time writing this, but I needed you to understand how important it is to fit into a community, not just push people around on timers. read more

I absolutely love pitch and would say it is one of my top favorites in Omaha. Every time I go the food is wonderful and I frequently try new things on the menu and specials. However, the last two times I have gone to the West Omaha location the service has been less than even average. Today my friend and I had Ally or Allie P for our sever and she did not come to our table for over 15 mins to greet us, after 10 mins I got up and walked over to her as she stood at the server station and asked her if we could get a server to our table, 5 mins later she showed up and made no apology for the long wait and was not very welcoming with her demeanor and asked what we wanted to drink. After bringing our drinks she asked if should could get us anything else, this was obvious answer of yes we would like food and not just an ice tea. She didn't offer up any specials to us and was straight to the point of ordering. The rest of the meal she had what seemed to be an attitude, didn't smile once or even ask how our food was tasting just if we were okay once. We over heard her telling the specials and being friendly to a family a table down and this made us feel as if she just had an issue with us personally. I can only assume she thought off the bat we wouldn't tip her well because of the wait or something and she seemed like she wanted to get out of there since it was 3pm and her shift was ending. It was really disappointing to have this service experience twice at a place I love and frequently spend money at. Ally gets a big thumbs downand honestly as much as apart of me did not want to tip her well she still got 20% but not my usual 30%. This was way too long but goes to show my disappointment. read more

We had reservations at 8 pm on a Tues night and were seated shortly after. Parking lot was nuts and ended up in a field by Walgreen's. Noise level was none that I have experienced before in a restaurant. We ordered calamari, meatball pizza with carafe of sangria (told it would be an additional $5 for the pizza), and a chop salad. Like other reviewers, the calamari was not fit to eat. Bland, bland, bland and no salt on the table. Chop salad was nice but we split it 3 ways at our table to justify the price. Pizza was delicious but for the price, we may stop in a couple times a year at best for special occasions. The white Sangria is not something I would order again either. There were 3 pale strawberries and what I think was a peach slice at the bottom of the caraffe. My girls ordered soda and had a can with a glass of ice plopped down in front of them.
