Came here because I heard good things from several friends who live in the area and saw stellar Yelp reviews. I was NOT disappointed. Atmosphere is cute, slightly rustic / hipster. Right on Main St. My party split the meatballs as an app - good sized portion of 3 meatballs, which comes with a couple of pieces of bread - the balls were delicious and we ate every ounce of the sauce as well. The waitress explained that their pizza uses flour imported from Italy - not that I know that much about pizza to confirm or deny, but apparently this is why Italian pizzas don't make you feel heavy and need a nap as soon as you're done. My party included both adventurous and picky eaters - there is something for everyone here. For the picky eaters, you'll find the sweet sausage (excellent) and the sopressata (easily labeled on the menu for picky eaters as "our version of pepperoni"). We also got the Bianca verde and the pistachio pesto. Bianca verde was very good, but I have to say the pistachio pesto took the cake. Super unique, not overpowering - every bite was incredible. Quick note on service here as an A+, and what made the difference between a 4 (4.5 really) and a 5. Our waitress offered helpful guidance on choosing pizzas and wines (when we paused on which would be a better fit, she brought out several samples). One of the pizzas was also lukewarm and the waitress replaced it with a piping hot pizza immediately. Will definitely be back. read more

My mom and I stopped in on a Friday afternoon for lunch. We were the only ones there at the time but we're greeted by a friendly waitress. A few others walked in after rounding out the restaurant. Loved that they had Cape Cod Blonde on tap, one of my favorites. My mom and I split a bianco pizza and added some meatballs on it. Pizza was fresh, fast and delicious. Made a quick stop here on my way from Wellfleet to Boston and was not disappointed! The weekday lunch special is the perfect amount of food and it was fun sitting at the bar watching the oven action. My friend and I noticed the staff had to loudly announce, "CORNER!" each time they approached a certain corner. Pizza Barbone reminded me of another place up in Salem with a very similar menu, decor, style, taste and even down to the wood fired domed pizza oven. So chalk up another specialty pizza place on the bookmarks for the return. Specials of the day are up on the chalkboard over our heads and we wanted to try as many as possible. There's usually a special listed for salad, appetizer, pizza, entrée and dessert. Seems like freshness is the key word at Barbone. And it doesn't get any fresher if you have a garden on the roof of the building. Whatever they harvest for the day is the highlight on the specials. We started with Spring Pea soup with rosemary cream and charred ramps with poached egg, fresh shaved parmesan and bacon. They were so good and it doesn't even taste like stuff you buy at the store. Three pizzas followed: Forest Mushroom, Crushed Potato and the special Pork Belly, Kale and Parsnips. All hand tossed Neapolitan style crust, all of the freshest ingredients, all delicious. I didn't think the flavors of the pizza special would work together, but it tasted like the pig just ate the kale & parsnips before they wrapped him in pizza dough and roasted him in the pizza oven. If you can't find parking out front on Main St, don't have a cow. There's tons of parking in the back lot with a backdoor entrance to the restaurant down a long hallway and you get a nice view of the kitchen. read more

My office is near this place. We go there from time to time for lunch or dinner. The place is great, especially after the renovation last year. Pizzas are great Neapolitan thinner crust. We had the pleasure of dinner at Pizza Barbone last night- and everything was perfect- 5 stars. I rarely post but Pizza Barbone is special. Our friend, Marius had been telling us about the pizza. We thought it was going to be another pizza place. Wrong. I have not had pizza like this since we were in Italy. Everything is scratch- the sauce, the gelato- they even have a roof garden growing veggies. We had three pizzas. Our group's favorite was a Pistachio Pesto which had fresh mozzarella, baby arugula, lemon, Parmigiano. This combination of flavors was perfection. The server (Maddie) was also very good. The cannolis and Barbone Oreos were to die for. I can't believe I did not take pics of them- except to say they were scarfed down too quickly. We are eager to go back to Pizza Barbone. I am going to try the Forest Mushroom (garlic cream, rosemary, smoked mozzarella, truffle oil) and my crew wants to try the Bianca Verde (roasted garlic, mozzarella, ricotta, Parmigiano, baby arugula, basil, balsamic). But the sauce... we'll have to go with a large enough group to get three pizzas. PS. the pizza oven is cool! I did get a pic of that before I became distracted with the food. read more

Some of the most unique pizza I've had! The service was PERFECT! Coming from Boston, many places rush your order, drinks, etc. the server allowed my partner & I to enjoy our drinks before getting our appetizers etc. it was the perfect flow not too slow not fast just I highlight the service but don't forget about the food so quality so unique so well done. A perfect pizza! We ordered gluten free crust on one and regular on the other. As they recommend, we ordered par baked and it worked out great. After searching through Yelp, Google and Trip Advisor for good pizza in Cape Cod and seeing a number of flatbreads trying to pass for pizza, we thankfully found this gem! I love Neapolitan style pizza and this place delivered. My husband and I shared the spicy pork aranchini, Margherita pizza and the Barbone meatball pizza. The aranchini was perfectly fried. I wished there was more spicy pork in the aranchini because I honestly could not tell that there was meat inside had it not been stated on the menu. It was still very good regardless. The pizzas were amazing. Both had the perfect sauce to crust ratio and the marinara is sooo good here. The center crust was super thin but still held its shape throughout the meal. The outer crust had a good amount of air bubbles from the hot oven and was incredibly airy, chewy and light. One of the best and most affordable meals we've had in Cape Cod. read more

We ordered the margarita pizza and the pistachio pesto pizza. Both were divine. The oven heats to 900degF and the pizza crust is light and fluffy and delicious! The margarita was absolutely delicious . . Perfect sauce, cheese and crust. Love that the base was thin with a doughy crust. The pistachio pesto was superb and loved the balance of flavors and textures! The rich and umami pistachio pesto was balanced with the bitter and tart crisp arugula with a lemon vinaigrette. . a perfect balance of salt, umami, sour and bitter. Yum! We shared a local Cape Cod beer, also delicious and ordered the Fall salad to go, to be devoured this week. They have a beautiful menu and many vegetarian options. We look forward to coming again! Try to venture here every trip to Cape, as the wood fires pizza is outstanding. Crust thin and crispy with fresh ingredients and quality you can taste. This time however, the experience was not so enjoyable. Now I get it with Covid and the struggles that restaurants are undergoing just to survive. It's why I'm trying to spend money to help out. Having said that, I still expect value for my money and the pandemic has not cause any restaurant to lower their prices, as service has been cut to a minimal. In short, my visit to Pizza Barnone was not worth what was spent. It's outdoor seating only which is more like "good luck finding a table in this mess." There no plan, no structure, no direction. Luckily I eventually found one. Ordering involves one simply going on the Internet and placing an order, while you're sitting outside the joint. Very odd. Our food, we had a party of 5, was ready way too quickly and upon tasting my pizza, it became apparent why. It was grossly undercooked. The cheese fell off the damn thing, as it was barely melted, the dough was chewy and rough and it was barely hot. Very disappointing. 2 others in my party also found their pizza the same way! I was very disappointed. Again, I understand we are all trying to make this work under tough conditions but I still expect value for my money and it was not to be found today. I would advise you to look elsewhere until the pandemic is History. Pizza Barbone is not equipped to operate during this event. read more

We came to the Cape for the weekend & needed somewhere that wasn't serving meat due to Lent. It was later at night & not a lot of seafood restaurants open due to the time of the year. This place was the best little find on the Cape for pizza. Very simplistic & clean on the inside, excellent spacing for social distancing & even privacy for dining but very comfortable & cozy. The food was outstanding! I had never tried truffle fries before but these were amazing!! The pizza was delicious & light & so nice & soft that my daughter even ate her crust which she never does!! How do you prep for a trip to the mall? Fuel up on pizza at Barbone! First trip here but had read some pretty amazing reviews. The boys chose Bianca verde (white green?) and Barbone meatball sans olives. Dad chose to pair with a yummy Cape Cod Red. The Bianca had a delicious balsamic glaze and the arugula added a nice bite. Add to that a crispy, smokey crust that only comes from a wood fired stove and you've got a tiny slice of heaven. The Barone was equally delish. These folks have an obvious respect for their craft and incorporate wonderfully fresh ingredients. We will be back for more soon! read more

This was a nice experience with a couple of minor hiccups! I would give this a 3.5 We came in at around 7:45 and we noticed that someone was cleaning the floor, it almost felt like they were getting ready to close which doesn't feel the most welcoming but we were sat immediately and presented with menus. The server was somewhat apathetic, her smile seemed somewhat forced and she seemed tired, but we ordered with no issues. We ordered the meatball appetizer to start and then the sweet sausage and margarita pizza. We also ordered a couple glasses of wine which unfortunately came in regular drinking glasses which I found to be really off-putting. I might be nit-picking but it just felt really cheap drinking wine out of a pub-style water glass. Other than this wine fiasco, I enjoyed the meatball appetizer a lot, there were three medium sized meatballs in a small skillet filled with sauce and topped with ricotta cheese and a couple of slices of crusty bread. I really liked the sauce and the bread, the meatballs were really tender and flavorful, I'd love to eat these on top of a bowl of pasta. The pizza was also good, the crust was thin but it still had some chew. Unlike a lot of thin crust pizza, the crust wasn't soggy in the centre. The toppings tasted fresh and I really liked the sauce. The service, again, was just ok. The server would come and ask us if everything was ok and would leave even before we finished talking. Seemed like they just wanted to close the store. The food is quite good, I would recommend it as a nice change from the overload of seafood restaurants. Also, the prices are not bad, pizzas are all under or around $15 and are big enough for one person or to share if you're looking for a lighter meal. I liked that it wasn't heavy or greasy. Definitely a higher end pizza. The restaurant is really warm and inviting. The wood oven in the back is a nice focal point. The light fixtures and furniture give the restaurant a rustic/modern look while also being warm and cozy. If I lived in the area I would definitely return to try some other pizzas, I do hope they decide to invest in some wine glasses though! read more

We stopped in on a chilly Thursday night in February 2023 and ordered a pizza to go. Our plan was to sit at the bar and enjoy a drink while they made the pizza. The bar is fun - we could watch the chefs make pizzas while we enjoyed our drinks. After a while we asked if the had our order, and the main pizza chef said he'd already made it about 20 minutes ago and it was waiting for us at the front of the restaurant. But they were concerned that our pizza would be cold and they offered us a replacement at no charge. After a little discussion they insisted on making a replacement and giving us the original! We were very grateful. After finishing our drinks (which were great!) we took our two pizzas to enjoy. We'll definitely go back! read more

This place is a hidden gem. Never been to Italy, bit felt like this was a tour for my tastebuds. The burrata and fig appetizer was amazing- almost like a DIY pizza with a plate of prosciutto, fresh figs and dreamy burrata with warm dough.
