pizza review I recently placed a pick up order at Pizza Guys, a new pizza place in my town, with my family and ordered $100 worth of food, which included three pizzas, one of which was the specialty half and half pizza with garlic lovers and Tuscan garlic chicken. Unfortunately, the pizza was made incorrectly and we received both halves not what we ordered. We called the restaurant to inform them of the mistake, and after speaking with a team member, we were put in touch with the manager. The manager asked us to clarify the issue with our order and offered to either replace the pizza or provide us with a refund. However, I was a bit disappointed when he asked for the old pizza back, as one of my family members had already eaten a slice before we realized the mistake. It seemed as though he did not believe that the pizza was made incorrectly. (We ended up choosing the refund.) I took a picture of the pizza we received, our receipt and pictures of what the pizza was supposed to be. Despite the issue with our order, I must say that the food was delicious. In particular, the kogi sauce was the best sauce I have had in a long time. They are also offering discounts right now which is pretty nice. Got to use a code that took $4 off specialty pizzas. Overall, I would rate Pizza Guys five stars for their yummy food, but the customer service could have been better in handling the issue with our order. Edited: The owner of Pizza Guys (Leon) reached out to me and apologized for the situation. He offered me a coupon for a free large pizza and garlic bread! Very kind and swift to take action. Pizza is my comfort food, and believe it or not cup pepperoni and pineapple are excellent together. Have purchased a few times just to check quality control. Seen no difference in any of my purchases. The sauce doesn't overpower the pizza itself. Add ons are aplenty. Pizza can be expensive, so having a coupon definitely helps on costs. They make fresh pizza dough everyday inside their store and if the dough is older then 16 hours, they toss it. They also make their own cheese inside the store as well so it's fresh everyday. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner Tim and he is very enthusiastic and passionate about the quality of his ingredients and that usually results in a very delicious final product. Pizza guys is a franchise, however, this particular one has a family owned feel to it and that's because it is. You got the general himself in the store making sure everything is coming out perfect so take advantage now while you still can. They have a lot of specials in the opening stages of their store too so there's tons of value there. This chain is not for me. The crust would be alright, but they go the cornmeal route, which always reads cheap to me. I can't say if the dough was good or not because "cornmeal = poor quality" is hard wired in my brain. So given that, paying over $20 for a medium pepperoni pizza, is kind of wild. I hated the cheezee rolls. I thought they had messed up my order and given me bacon, not pepperoni because the pepperoni was so thick despite having been cut into bits. It was a really unpleasant experience to eat pepperoni that seemed like bacon. We ate a total of 3 had to toss the rest. Fortunately the ranch came free with the rolls, because they charge A WHOLE US DOLLAR for a tiny cup of premade ranch. If you like the tang of cheap ranch, you are in luck. Service was fine, ordering was easy. It seemed like the toppings were a little better quality and came with more options so Pizza Guys might be worth trying if you are close by, and don't mind corn meal in the crust, but it's a first and last for me. read more
