As a vegetarian who enjoys eating vegan, I've loved Pizza Head for years. I was happy to hear the dining room was reopening on 314 Day. It's been closed since the pandemic. We decided to get some Pizza Head on 314 Day to get $3.14 slices and to sit in the dining room. Perfect service, pizza and location. Highly recommend!

We went for a slice but came home with a giant yummy pie! We weren't quiet sure what to make if the walk up and order format on a dark and chilly night. Being quite hungry we made a decision to upgrade from a few slices to a whole vegan pie. It turned out to be more spends than we expected ($32 for pepperoni with vegan cheese and tomato sauce ) but it was two meals for two people. And DELICIOUS! We will def return. So happy to have healthier pizza options that are tasty.

Wow, I never heard of this place until yesterday. This place is only carry out or eat outside where there are some seatings. There is a small window where you will go to pay and pick up your food. Yesterday I got 4 slices of cashew pepperoni pizza. They were good. I like the crust a lot. The pick up was smooth.

Pizza pizza read all about it! Boy oh boy you won't get double takes or will you as you walk down the street with the large but niche pizza boxes. Lots of vegan and non vegan options! If you think you won't be able to find something, wrong by friend! I enjoyed the pizzas but got mad heart burn from the vegan 'meatz' pizza. The ranch caught me off guard. Dillish. Recommend for an experience and to fill your pizza heart desires!

We ordered this last Friday night! We made our own pizza with vegan sausage, peppers, onion and regular cheese! There was a line at the pick up window, but we ordered ahead of time and was ready within minutes! You can order online and pick up or order at the window. I stopped by Pizza Head after an event on South Grand. I've heard a lot about this place and thought it was a great opportunity to finally try it. This isn't a sit down restaurant. Or at least it was not when I stopped by. You order at the walk up window, and depending on your order, it comes out fairly quickly. I am not vegan or vegetarian, but if I was this would be a great choice. They have vegan pepperoni and cheese. I opted for the dairy cheese slice, this is the only option by the slice that has your traditional cheese. I definitely would have loved some more options like veggies on it, but when you get a slice of pizza and not the entire thing, that's the name of the game. They sell whole pizzas as well, as well as beer. The slice was super delicious! Hot and crispy and has a really good seasoning on it. I was super pleased with the slice and would for sure stop by again.

Considering that I'm not a Vegan nor a fan... this was darn good pizza. The Foodtruck was parked on Locust in front of Ash Cigar Lounge and given that I had been enjoying Ash, I had to venture out and grab a bite. Thank goodness that they offer a non-vegan option.. but it is a vegetarian pizza instead. 12" Pizza with Sauce, Dairy Mozzerella, Onions and Bell Peppers. I was told it would only take 5 min, so I hung out right there to wait. Yep, 5 min later my order was ready. Pizza was hot, fresh and very tasty. Some parmesean cheese packets would have been great. Overall, a surprisingly good option.

I didn't realize this place was only take out until we got there but that's okay! The pizza was delicious and it was the perfect size for four adults. I wanted to try the vegan meat but ended up getting the utopian pizza which is all veggies. It was delicious!! There is outside sitting around the corner from the post office that is the property of pizza head and had 4 large picnic tables. The service was otherwise helpful and patient with us as we asked our questions. They send you a text when your pizza is ready. Will come back again :)

Pizza Head has some of the best pizza I've had. The crust is perfect- nice and thin in the center but with a deliciously doughy edge. Their toppings are all high quality, and the employees have all been really friendly. They only make 20" pies, but they're actually pretty light. Plus whatever you don't finish reheats beautifully in the oven the next day. I've picked up pizza in person many times, and also ordered delivery through Door Dash for a group at work, and the pizza arrived on time and in perfect condition. I was also able to order a vegan pizza, which my vegan colleagues really appreciated! Keep it up, Pizza Head!

I truly love coming to this pizza place because the pizza is really large and it is also vegan. Don't let that deter you from going because it's actually really delicious! The crust is nice and then the cheese is always delicious. The spinach and artichoke also is really tasty very flavorful. We had a little extra garlic on top. It was perfect. The only downside is you cannot enjoy your pizza inside. So we have to get it to go. So keep that in mind currently when we went in January 2023 no dining services they were seats outside but of course because it's January you don't wanna sit outside.

Delicious vegan meal! First time ordering! Got it delivery from their website! I ordered two hours before the time I wanted it and scheduled it. They contract out delivery with DoorDash which isn't my fave. Preference is actual delivery drivers from the pizza place like the old days. lol. The dasher arrived 15 mins before the delivery time and the pizza wasn't ready. The pizza wasn't ready until 5 mins after the delivery time so the dasher had to wait 20 mins for my order. A bit poopy for the delivery driver. Also not to mention was late for me but luckily I was fine with whatever. Overall really yummy but four stars because only one size pizza options and not a honestly their premade/specialty pizza options are super lackluster like no I don't want a fake meat lovers pizza, I want a veggie pizza. But to get the at I have to l build my own and pay millions of dollars adding every veggie. And the other option is spinach artichoke? Like I bet it's good but who has ever had that as a pizza??! Give me a veggie deluxe specialty pizza... Also they charge 4 dollars for vegan cheese on a whole pizza, that seems totally fine but then if you get half and half you have to pay 4 dollars twice for the two different vegan cheese options.... It should still be 4 dollars total not 8 because it's the same surface area. But okay good food but just annoying stuff like deliver and ordering and bad options.

Very good very good I love the crust it reminds me of a New York pizza and I would know. And I know pizza I grew up in Chicago and lived in new York for several years. Though I'm not vegan or vegetarian I could eat there meatless pepperoni all the time. The flavors are authentic and they know their way around a pie. The service is friendly and I love the walk up window. You can smell the aroma of brick oven pizza from down the block and there is nice outdoor seating near by. Street parking on Grand or near by side streets. Well worth a visit.

Stopped in for lunch and got the two slice and a soda special. The space itself was super cool, very dive bar-esk. They have one of the neatest jukebox playlists I've ever seen with tons of The Ramones and Sonic Youth. They proudly hang a fair wage sign on the front door which makes me stupid happy to see. The only problem I had, was that the pizza was just sort meh, at best. It wasn't greasy, which is a positive but it didn't have much flavor at all. I will be going back here. Many more times, I'm sure. I like the vibe, I support everything they're doing. And they serve Stag. Who doesn't want a Stag every now and again? read more

We ordered a 20" cheese pizza. It was a very solid New York style pizza. The sauce was good and the dough had a good flavor. I'd give it a 6.8 on a 10 point scale. It was a bit under cooked and doughy without much crisp for my preference I'd ask for it to be well done next time. There is very little seating inside and I found the vibe to be friendly, but not inviting. There's a patio outside that is probably nice in the warmer months. read more

Love this place for this vegan pizza! Their vegan pepperoni is so good and nostalgic for me as it's what we ate every TGIF. Only thing about pizza head is they are on the pricey side and pizza is all one size, but the size is huge!!! Box so big it barely fits into my car each time! read more

I absolutely LOVE this pizza and the atmosphere! I've been 3 times already. I got vegan slices the first 2 times. The dough and the cashew cheese are out of this world. Slices are huge. My last visit with a friend we got a whole vegan pie with mushrooms, sausage, green peppers and garlic and it was insane. The garlic ended up with a roasted flavor that was amazing. All in all it's one of my favorite places to stop in for a bite now! read more

OK.. so.. Pizza Head.. It's definitely design with the pizza fanatic in mind. In fact, this is the largest pizza I've ever had and it definitely tastes like divine goodness. I can only speak on the vegan pizza, so let's GO! The vegan cheese, made of what is call cashew cheese is awesomeness times two! I like the vegan sausage the best BUT when I got some extra coin, I'll splurge on adding extra veggie topping. Of course, you can buy by the slice or simply take home a whole pie, which I highly recommend... You will not be disappointed and throughly feed. 5 Stars FOR SURE! read more

This place is soooo freaking tasty! I'm not vegan, but I ordered a slice of the vegan pizza and a slice of the cheese. Both were incredible. For those vegans though, the vegan pizza was delicious. The crust was almost better than the regular pizza, and the flavors were everything you would want. I'm a huge fan! read more

Pizza head has great pizza, is completely vegetarian, and has delicious vegan options. While I like Daiya cheese, I especially love that they serve house made cashew cheese instead. The toppings are somewhat basic, nothing fancy (for instance I am disappointed that the mushroomed are canned), but the crust and sauce are delicious. You can order a 20'' pie or by the slice. When I was in the only vegan slices available were cheese, but they said they would probably have more eventually (this was their third day of business). They serve beer, and have a fun atmosphere complete with a juke box. St. Louis now has a ton of vegan pizza options, but this immediately became a favorite. I will be going back back many times. Note: I did think the price was high, but my husband and I got 2 meals a piece from the 20' pie, so in the end I wasn't concerned about this. The beer is cheap. read more

Stopped in at 11 am- opening the door and first customers of the day- and my daughter and I each got a slice. Her- cheese- me- vegan pepperoni. Delicious- pepperoni was meaty and had a little spice to it and daughter loved her slice as well!NY style- had a little bit of chew and will definitely stop by again!! read more

Pizza by-the-slice can be so hit or miss, but not at Pizza Head. Great big slices made well. The margherita delivered and gobbled it up alongside one of the canned beer offering. Love the alternative vibe and White Stripes playlist. Will be back for full pizza soon. read more

Best ever! We've been loyal to Pizzeoli (Scotts other venture) for a long time, but this might just be our new favorite. It's hard to find vegan pizza that tastes as authentic as the good stuff that you're used to, but this hits the spot. Bravo again and again. read more

Love this place! By far the best NY pizza in STL and for me the closest to what I grew up with in Queens (NY). Great people and consistently good food. True to a NY'er I just get extra cheese so I have not tried any of the toppings. read more

Best vegan pizza in town if you ask me. Love that you can get by the slice, and portion size is right on. If you're up for it, the whole pizzas are massive and the vegan ranch you can order from them is delicious. Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars from me is I wish it was open for lunch (opens at 3pm), and they do not accept cash (almost 30% of people didn't have a debit or credit card in 2018 so yea...but can always donate a slice for someone who otherwise wouldn't be able to try this place). read more

The pizza was decent, but the place is cramped and a little dingy. If you like the punk rock dive type of place, you'll dig it. It was also uncomfortably warm, to the point that I was sweating. Though that may have been because we had to sit at the bar (closer to the kitchen) due to the lack of available seating. In fairness, it was pretty warm out. In cooler weather, it wouldn't have been an issue. read more

I stopped in here at an odd time: in between lunch and dinner, having just read how excited about it people were. I had a beer, a slice of pepperoni and a slice of the day: white pizza with spinach and artichoke. Both slices were excellent, although the crust of the pepperoni slice was super hard and too chewy- may have been sitting there a little longer due to it being 3:30pm and neither lunch nor dinner. The beer was cold and canned-a local urban chestnut pilsner I hadn't had, but was a perfect side to the pizza. The cashier/bartender was friendly, helpful, and suggested the beer- they don't have a big selection, but I'm not into IPAs and was torn between the three left. Good, loud, punk and grunge era music... I was a happy customer and would head back if in the area. read more

Best pizza I've had in STL, and if you know anything about STL, most of the pizza is crap. PIZZA HEAD IS NOT CRAP. I would order a pie a week when I lived there, and I would take it over the other pizza Mecca pizzas (New York, Chicago, Detroit have nothing on this pizza and the perfection that is crust). I recently moved to Nevada and have to start my search for great pizza over, but nothing makes my mouth nearly as happy as the giant slices and leftover happiness from Pizza Head. Pizza head, I miss you. Your staff is awesome, the playlist jammin, and your pizza is incredible. Great vibes, great slices- HIGHLY recommend. read more

This place definitely has some really good pizza. I ordered a couple of the cheese pizza slices and they were both delicious because the amount of sauce and cheese were just right. The only thing I would change about the place is that a good portion of my table and a little bit of the floor was pretty sticky. So, that means cleaning can be improved on. Overall, this place is pretty decent in terms of the food. read more

Don't get me wrong, I do love Pizza Head. I won't stop going, I love pizza, punk, and I'm a vegetarian. It's exactly what the S. Grand strip needs. However, I've been there several times and each time the quality of pizza is a little different. I havent had much issue with single slices, except for sometimes they'll give you a slice that's 50% air bubble and...for the price per slice I want more than a pocket of air. (If you ask for another slice I've had no issues!) My issue has always been with ordering a full pie, to the point I won't do it anymore, unfortunately. They're not cheap for one, we ordered spinach, garlic, black olive, sausage, pep. The toppings were fine, the veg sausage is a lil weird...bland. Idk if they make it but throw some italian spice i to thae mix, my friends! The veggie pepperoni though? ON POINT FOR REAAAAL. Any way, The pizza was over $40 which is (sort of) understandable due to size and veggie meats are typically more expensive but they don't really pile anything on...so the topping prices can get really steep for...not a lot of substance. My issue is moreso with the cook time I guess...? I get its a NY style and supposed to be floppy but every time we get a pizza home its so...floppy, wet, greasy (I honestly can't tell) that the slices don't pull off from the pie, the dough is either undercooked or so moist it all sticks to the box and we have to scrape it out. I'm assuming It's partly due to them being super busy and not having time to push bigger orders out fast enough while taking care of lobby orders but IDK. I'll probably try again and again and hopefully get this bad boy up to 5 stars but for a $40 pizza, the entire thing needs to be consumable and not stuck to the box. Personally, I love the atmosphere. It's like CBGB's spawned at pizza joint. I will say if you're trying to bring your whole family or have a quiet date, it can be a little loud, it's just the nature of the place. Because they have an awesome juke box full of punk! read more

This place is your typical hole in the wall college pizza joint. Very neat and hip place with good music, good pizza, and good deals. I got a 2 slice pepperoni with a soda all for $8. The pizza is thin and ginormous - New York style. Catering to all types of crowds, this place is vegan friendly and family friendly. Staff could have been a little bit friendlier but what else can you expect from stuck up hipster pizza joint? Definitely recommend!! read more

When I got here everything was vegan so I was alittle nervous to try it out cause it's hard to make vegan food good. I had a bite of the pizza and fell in love with it. Haven't had pizza since I've gone vegan a couple of months of go and as soon as I heard about this place having vegan pizza I knew I had to try! HOLY SHIT LEMME TELL YOU THIS IS THE BEST PIZZA EVER (vegan or not) haha ever since we've eating there its become a weekly thing. Went to visit on a trip to St Louis for a tournament. Team ended up here and had 2 pizzas, cheese and the veggie pepperoni. We could not believe the pepperoni was vegetarian. Also tried the vegan pizza which was good. Good service and hot pizza. Limited parking. read more

I moved out here to get treatment for a stem cell transplant. I don't understand provell cheese. I have finally found it! THE spot for NY style pizza. Nothing compares I'm sorry. Bravo guys! I love pizza! And New York style pizza is my favorite. I really miss Ferraro's which technically was Jersey style, but very similar - although Ferraro's did seem to go downhill the last couple of years it was around. I tried Pizza Head based on good reviews, many of which compared it favorably with really good New York style pizza. This pizza was pretty good, but not quite as good as others I've had. It definitely paled compared to Ferraro's or Talayna's at their peak. First off, and as my picture shows, the cheese was almost non-existent. Normally I wouldn't order just a cheese pizza, but since they only have plant based meat substitutes, I was fine with a cheese pizza. Seriously, if cheese is the only topping, at least put some on. The second issue for me was the crust was chewy with no crunch. Maybe a few extra minutes in the oven would have done the trick. I ate two pieces as soon as I got it because wanted to try it hot. There was a long delay after I finished eating for them to bring me the check. My whole meal took around 2.5 hours. I had arrived starving and, I like to think, with an open mind. These are my honest, unfiltered observations. It is wonderful that so many people want to try their food and that their new space is bigger. Their decor, glassware and menu were cute and tasteful. I also love that they grew from a farmers market food stall and that they source their ingredients locally. With their level of popularity, I think they should focus on preserving the quality of their service and food.
