So I'm originally from Columbus Ohio and my family has been buying pizza from these guys for over 40 years. Now, when I go back to Ohio from Cali, it is the first and last meal I eat, plus every possible day in between. I can't get enough of this stuff and the price is so moderate. 1st.... the 5th star is because of the proximity to my home & the ease of pickup / carryout routine. Delivery is not available. 2nd... I am a fan of meatball, tomato & double onion pizza. Meatball avoids much of the greasiness that pepperoni brings to a more traditional offering. Some other shops have meatball as a topping choice or will add them if asked... or some don't have the patience to bend their menu to accommodate such a request. Don't get me wrong... I'm always able to sate my hunger from available toppings where pizza is concerned. Pizza House delivers consistent results in my experience. If I decide to go over the top with black olives, banana peppers or bacon as options, I always get a product that travels well, is never soggy and holds it's own as a breakfast replacement the following day. Dining in has never disappointed and will accommodate a variety of party sizes with friendly wait staff. I consider Pizza House to be the premium offering available within the entire Clintonville / Beechwold proximity. read more

We make it to the pizza house 4-5 times a year. I grew up in nearby Worthington and it has always been a great place to go for good pizza in a family-friendly environment. Why the low rating? We usually rank pizza houses' pizza at a 10 out of 10. Something was different the night we visited. The pizza seemed bland and overcooked. The cheesy garlic bread was wonderful, as usual, but the pizza...there was something missing. I would still give it a 7 and hope that it was just a bad night... The real reason for the low rating was the horribly inattentive wait staff. We arrived on a very crowded Friday night. We only had to wait about 15 minutes for a seat, which we didn't think was too bad. Once we were seated, it took our waitress about 15 minutes to bring our menus and take our drink orders. She walked by our table at least 10 times and never said "i'll be right with you" or "sorry about the wait". Just ignored us. Then we waited forever for drinks and our food order. All of the waitresses seemed overwhelmed and I don't think I observed any of them smiling..Once our food arrived, our waitress didn't even come back once to ask us if we needed anything. Again, just walked by and ignored us. We finally flagged her down at the end of our meal to ask for the bill. I'm really hoping it was just a bad night! We'll be back to see..... read more

Has been a couple of years since I have been here, they changed ownership and nothing crazy as a family member purchased it. We order anti pasta and old world pep pizza, was outstanding and maybe better than I remembered. Best anti-pasta in COLUMBUS. The old world pepperoni curls up like crispy bacon. I have been coming to Pizza House since the mid 80's with my family. We used to drive every Sunday from Dublin to pick up a pizza and a spaghetti dinner. This place is my fave pizza joint in Columbus. I always go with there thicker dough, with sausage and pepp- It is very tasty. The Meatballs are great, you can tell they are homemade and the sauce is very rich and yummy. I dont eat in too much, but when you do, it seems you get even more food than you do with carry out. This is solid pizza, I really enjoy it. Sauce is good, cheese is good. For the most part, the toppings are good. The pizza is good, but not great. So the negatives - it's a little pricey for the quality and they used canned mushrooms. I wouldn't make a special trip across town to eat here, but I definitely stop in if i'm in the area. read more

As a pizza lover, I am sad to say I just do not taste what others are buzzing is about. So having learned that I find it flavorless with that layer-of-congealed-cheese-thing going on that I personally can't stand, I wasn't thrilled to be invited to dine here with family and in laws who adore the pizza. But have no fear, the menu offers numerous selections from supe and salad to pasta. The Traditional (Italian) sub was satisfying and I truly appreciated how their crispy bread stood up to the toppings. While the 80s interior is somewhat unwelcoming, our server made up for the chilly decor with her warm personality. Overall, Pizza House is a great place for a get together. read more

This is some seriously great pizza. It's old school Ohio style pizza. They use a bit more sauce than most places so I like that (although for others they may not like). They use top quality ingredients as well. I haven't had them for awhile so I plan to update my review when I'm sitting in front of a slice so I can more accurately detail my experience. Note the low stars from me...but that's because this pizza really was NOT my bag. My husband, on the other hand, loved it. It will really depend on your "type" of pizza whether you enjoy this or not. The dining room is definitely from the 80s, maybe early 90s. Don't feel the need to dress up here! We ended up being sat in a bar-type area with a few TVs. We didn't request the bar, it just happened. We had the appetizer platter and it was pretty standard pizza-pub type stuff. Cheese sticks, wings, fried mushrooms and cauliflower. Nothing really to note here. Now, the pizza. I had old world pep and mushroom (my usual) and hubby had supreme (his usual). Like everyone else says, the crust is thin but the pizza itself is thick. And the sauce is heavy - it's a lot saucier pizza than a cheesier pizza. For me, everything was just sort of bland and tasteless. I am not a big fan of saucy pizzas, though. I occasionally got a pop of flavor from the old world pep but overall it was pretty meh for me. I actually didn't want to eat my leftovers. Like I said, hubby loved it and gladly devoured it for me. So, take a try, but be aware...if you're on my side of the fence, it's a sad disappointment. Oh, the service wasn't great, either. read more

I go to pizza house quite often. Today I had a negative experience. I ordered a 7 inch mushroom and green olive. The server, Airica,who did not write down our order, or repeat back the order showed up with a mushroom and onion. I didn't touch the pizza and after a delay Airica checked in us. I told her I ordered a mushroom and green olive. Instead of acknowledging she may have made a mistake, she responded, "you said onion because I entered your order right after I took it, but I can get you a mushroom and olive if that's what you want.". After being accused by the server of not ordering what I wanted, I told her I'd eat the wrong pizza since that is apparently what I ordered according to Airica. My dining partner heard me say green olive when I ordered. I wasn't trying to get a " free" $6.50 pizza. I would have liked the server to acknowledge that she should have written my order down or that she made the mistake and apologize. Airica does not wear a name badge. Her name was on my receipt. She has blonde hair. Insist that she write down what you ordered and repeat it. Sadly, I will probably not return because of my unpleasant experience with Airica. read more

If you want simple, American-ized Italian food at a decent price, this might be your place. I've had their lasagna and it is not incredible, but it is good. I have had their pizza, and it is also good. Their subs are nothing to be ashamed of either. The restaurant service is friendly and efficient. They serve wine and beer. I have occasionally ordered something a little unusual, such as a sub without peppers. There's about a 50/50 chance your sub will have the peppers despite your request. It's no big deal, but such minor errors are kind of common. read more

I'll only give them four stars, because they messed up my last two carryout orders...which is always disappointing, because you usually don't realize this until...you're home! I do like their pizza; the crust is much better than most. The salads are generous to perhaps huge, which is great if you've recently started a low carb diet :) I would highly suggest dining in as opposed to carryout, UNLESS you check your order BEFORE leaving. The inside dining service is usually prompt and friendly. It's very old school and retro in the dining area; I've always liked the glass brick-like "windows...I feel like I've gone back 30 years plus when dining here, but it's not a bad thing! The prices are reasonable, too. They must be doing something right, as they always have a large and loyal lunch and dinner crowd. We routinely eat carry out from Pizza House. Today we ordered spaghetti that did not specify meat sauce. But assumed because they have a other item called meat sauce we were safe from meat. When we called to clarify the woman on the phone was incredibly rude and said it was our fault. She was unwilling to be kind, which is free. We were not looking for a refund, but simply to voice our complaint. I actually had an in person visit before COVID and some guy presenting himself as a manager or owner was also incredibly rude. It is as if they don't think they have competitors a mile down the road at Villa Nova. I will go to Villa Nova from this point on. They have lost our business. read more

Delicious pizza! It is one of my favorites. Dining in is fun... They have beer on tap and the decor resembles the diner in Saved By the Bell. On my first visit I ordered the pesto pizza and was not that into it. Their basic red sauce is where it's at! Yum! The fried ravioli are good as well, but if you're vegetarian make sure to specify marinara for dipping, not meat sauce. So good! read more

Wonderful first time experience. My wife and I had been traveling and we happened across this place on a Sunday night. What a great find. The staff was welcoming and Our server was very friendly and helpful. We had hot wings, pizza, and side salads. The wings and pizza were fantastic. The side salad was simple; lettuce croutons and a couple slices of pepperoni, but we were glad they had salads. The low calorie Italian dressing was very tasty. With the good food, the friendly staff, and reasonable prices, I'd say my wife and I had a very enjoyable dining experience. Thanks Pizza House! Pizza House is our go to for family dinners. We have two teenage boys, and they love to start with the Italian Fondue. Our youngest always gets spaghetti with heavy meat sauce before big swim meets. My oldest and I split a different pizza every time. I got my parents hooked on the Italian Sub. My husband is on Weight Watchers, and even he can find a good salad to eat. Great draft beer options. Pizza House is one of those places that has been around forever and will be around forever and it never changes. And that is a good thing because the pizza here is awesome. I've been coming to Pizza House since I was a teenager and I used to live in Westerville, so it was always a little bit of a trek to come for just pizza, but since I've moved to Clintonville, I am about 6 minutes away from pizza heaven. My boyfriend had never been, so we ordered some take-out. We got a large sausage, onion, and mushroom pizza. It took 20 minutes for pick-up and when we got it home, it smelled wonderful. The sausage here is the best sausage of any pizza ever. It's not like other places. They sliced the sausage super thin and lay it all over the pizza kind of like pepperoni. It's genius. The veggies are also super fresh and tasty. And the crust is that thin crust pizza that I love. They slice it in squares, which I always like better than the pie style slices...cause I'm a weirdo, I guess. Anyway, you can't go wrong here. read more

By far one of my favorite pizza places in Columbus. I am a fiercely loyal Central Ohio thin crust fan and this place does it extremely well and consistently too. Plus, I love supporting small businesses like this one and it doesn't hurt that it's so close to Clintonville! On to the pizza: I've never had anything that wasn't super delicious. Our regular order is a large, light sauce with half pepperoni (regular or old world) and mushroom and half spinach and mushroom. The crust is always crispy and appropriately chewy. It's so good that usually the gentleman friend and I devour it in one sitting with a few scant pieces left over for breakfast the next morning. A quick word of warning, since this is a thin crust pizza, be careful about ordering too many moisture-rich veggie toppings (e.g. green peppers, tomatoes). Two or perhaps three veggie toppings should be the limit. Otherwise, you might end up with soggy pizza. To sum it up, if you're a fan of thin crust pizza, please support this local business immediately! read more
