This rating is for The Arcade Dungeon located next door to the Pizza Mill & Sub Factory. My family and I visited this arcade for the first time this evening. After we ate our yummy food order, we decided to play some games before heading home. It's summertime, why not? Well, as my husband and son enter, they are approached by the co-manager of the arcade to ask for quarters to play. He states that the games are to be handled with care. They are not to be "banged on." Ok. Noted. As I walk in with my 6 year old son, we begin playing TNMT, and I notice he is standing behind me, but he doesn't say anything, he just monitors us as we are the only two customers in the arcade. As we move to the pinball machines, we played one or two before we are approached at the Jurassic World machine. Our son was playing on that one while I finished up with one next to him. The level of excitement is drained from all of us as he states to my son, "you cannot hit the buttons so hard, you will break them." We stated, this was his first time playing these machines. "You still can't beat the buttons that loudly, you will break my machine." Umm. It's a pinball machine, aren't we supposed to play with the buttons on the side of the machine? I'm pretty sure all of these machines make this noise when a customer is playing them?? Like what? We clearly were not playing on them that hard people. It is not like we were punching the buttons, the glass, or attempting to break the machines or even yelling; we were having fun, or so we thought. Also, as an owner, if you don't want your collection to be used by customers, why open an arcade if the customers are expected to softly play your games? Like I don't even know what he means by that? Softly is petting a kitten, I mean That's what I think of when I need to play softly? Plus, inside the restaurant it states " the money that is spent in the arcade goes right back to the arcade for maintenance for the games." If you don't want "kids or anyone touching your machines, you need to establish an "age limit," and encourage parents to be with their children. Have them sign a waiver so that you can make things even more complicated for your customers that just want to play some cool games. BTW. You gave a great collection, but maybe you should consider storing them in a man cave or a garage if you want them to stay in prestige condition. Also, I'm sure being glued to your phone was the main reason why you approached us, we clearly bothered you by coming in the door. The look you gave me when I asked for $5 in quarters. Cringe. Also, attempting to sell a pinball machine for 3500.00, and having a sorry attitude towards your everyday customers is NOT GOOD BUSINESS. But, best of luck to you dude. Our entire family is very disappointed on how this arcade is managed. We will never feel welcomed to this arcade again. read more

Man y'all need to control your temper when helping these customers, just bc it a big order you don't have to throw a big baby fit about it. It's part of your damn business. If the customer willing to make a big purchase for that amount pizza take it. Stop being lazy and make the pizza, that what y'all sign up for!!! Restaurant was filthy. Food took forever - ~40 minutes for a couple pizzas and some chicken nuggets and it was not a busy night. Food was not good. The nuggets were pink-slime reconstituted chicken mush, really awful texture. Pizzas went past crispy cracker crust to crumbly saltine crust, not much flavor, and not filling at all. After finishing every scrap of food we ordered we thought about ordering more but didn't want to wait another 40 minutes surrounded by filth for done thing do mediocre. read more

When I was growing up, there were Pizza Mill Sub Factory restaurants in multiple towns across southeastern New Mexico. Unfortunately, the only Pizza Mills that I know of that are still open are the restaurants in Hobbs and Alamogordo. Anytime I'm in those towns, Pizza Mill my top choice of places to get a deli sandwich. My favorite since the 1980s is the #16 (Italian). I also introduced my 20-something niece to Pizza Mill. It was her first experience with a "local hole in the wall" restaurant. She was amazed at how good her sandwich was, and it revealed to her that if you see a restaurant that's kind of "plain Jane" looking, but has a bunch of customers, there's a good chance. the food is great. She tells me she misses Pizza Mill's sandwiches, despite living in San Diego, California where there's lots more choices than there are in Alamogordo or Hobbs. I think that is a pretty great endorsement for our little regional Pizza Mill and Sub Factory restaurants! read more

We went to visit Cloudcroft for a day, and stopped in Alamogordo for pizza! I am vegan, and unfortunately, the dough has lard in it, which, of course makes it very crispy, it is a very thin, thin crust, cracker like, but it was delicious. we had a lot of modifications we wanted to make and the staff was very accommodating for us. We also ordered a salad which my sister enjoyed. Bonus was that they have sparkling water on the sofa fountain It was very not very crowded but we were there early around 4:30 PM place was clean and we enjoyed the pizza. Thin crust baby! Someone said the crust is like a saltine cracker, lol. This is an accurate description. As a thin crust fan i like it but others, like my husband, hated it. I got The Jen. For simple cheese and spices it was very good. The 9 inch is the perfect personal size. My son got a regular cheese pizza. It had red sauce that, indeed, tasted like tangy cheap frozen pizza. It was tasty because the cheese was a better quality but I understand how it has makes some customers feel like they should have just nuked some bagel bites for the fam instead. My son loved it and actually ate all his food. Win! I could tell that customer service is hit or miss. While I waited at my table I noticed plenty of customers approach the front counter to pickup their carry out orders and, while I observed some employees be welcoming and helpful, I saw others act like they'd rather be doing anything else. They seemed behind on orders. Customers appeared frustrated to have to wait longer as staff tried to figure out orders. For this reason I would not recommend calling or pickup. My family dined in and we had no issues. Our orders were correct. Food came out in 15 minutes. Pizza was fresh and hot. Root Beer Float is awesome. Restaurant was clean and decorated with cool classic movie posters everywhere. Parking lot is small and located at a busy intersection. Be prepared to possibly parallel park on the street if you go during busy hours. Overall, I had a decent experience. For the foodies on some gastronomic journey you should just drive 30 min up the mountain and try the pizza at Cloudcroft Brewing Co. If you want to stay in Alamo, I like the flavor of Pizza 9 pizza better even thoughts it is deep dish. Still, for a casual family dining outing and for the thin crust, I will definitely eat at Pizza Mill again. read more

As a pizza snob, it causes me physical pain when I see a pie cut into tiny squares...TINY...SQUARES. I first encountered this in STL by an establishment called Imo's Pizza...I don't recommend that place. ANYWAY. Although this pie is cut into squares with a cracker thin crust - the sauce was good - the toppings were good - and the special prices were great. The interior needs some help. A lot of the booths are torn up. Not all the tables get cleaned after people are done eating. The staff isn't all that friendly. Actually, the males were very friendly with me, but not the females. We ordered the Snappy and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd order it again. You cannot compare this place to Pizza Patio because they are two different breeds of pizza. The sauce, crust, and presentation are polar opposites. So it is very hard to compare. Pizza Patio is nice for a family get together or a night out to dinner while pizza mill is a whole lot more casual and you just want a bite to eat. Hope that helps! read more

Pizza Mill is my number 1 recommendation for Pizza in Alamogordo. I usually don't like thin crust but for some reason, they make it in a way that I can't get enough of. I love it. If you're feeling adventurous, try the Garbage Barge that has green chiles! So good! I am not a big fan of their subs, but many people are. Also good to note, the bathrooms in the building are extremely small. So if you're dining in, just be aware! read more

This place has good food don't get me wrong but today was pretty messed up. I had pre-ordered a salad and when I went to go pick up my order I opened it to see if the order was correct and there was a FLY still alive in my salad. And so I handed the salad back to the worker and asked him to open it. Then I had asked him to give me my card back I lost my appetite after that. YALL A FLY. I recently was brought here by a guy I was seeing. He swore up and down that this place had the BEST PIZZAS IN THE WORLD. I mean, that's some bold talk. The place is cute. It has that quaint, not a franchise of some huge corporation hometown pizza place feel. I kinda didn't like the pizza place tombstones in as much as I don't enjoy seeing businesses go under. That said, the pizza was okay. I liked the thin crust. What threw me off was the way the place smelled. It smelled exactly like my elementary school cafeteria. Where do I start? Trying to call them is a nightmare it keeps beeping & giving a busy signal. Then we walk in to grab our pizza and multiple employees stare at us and don't bother acknowledging our presence. (We were the only ones in the store) We ask for some ranch and it's 25 cents each which is cheap, but they're tiny half empty cups. The pizza: The dough is a damn saltine cracker, tastes like a Celeste or Tony's frozen pizza, definitely not worth $17. They bumped their heads! Get some fresh dough, it would be so much better! This is our first time eating at he pizza mill. For the most prt we tried to avoid it due to its reviews. But tonight we decided to give it a try we ordered a 12 inch snappy. Italian sausage, pepperoni, jalapeños, bacon. And an order of jalapeño poppers with a few sides of ranch. The staff wasn't rude but we're not very welcoming either. We came to dinner around 6pm and were the only people in the restaurant. They seemed that we were bugging them during there prep time. The restaurant is decently clean other then a few smudges on the glass and stains on the carpet, dust in the corner windows. very nicely decorated. They have good lighting and either high top tables or booths. If I was 17 I would hang out here after school with my friends it's a nice kick back place. With being the only people in the restaurant it has taken about 35 Min for our pizza to come out and them saying about 15-20 min. Now let's start on the pizza. The crust was like a saltine cracker flakey no flavor. In a small word crap. The pizza sauce was almost not these but A+on the cheese and toppings. Crispy real bacon good jalapeños. The ranch tasked home made and not bottled which I liked And the jalapeño poppers were generic cheddar cheese filled frozen store bought nothing to write home about. I do have to say the food came out hot which is always good. They did seem to have about 8 people in the kitchen. I don't think you need this many people working when you have No customers. Over all experience I may return here again if I ever have the craving for cardboard. But compared to patio pizza this place is a winner. Better attitude employees and better pizza. read more

Worst customer service ever today. Not the entire staff. Let me start by stating this if you do not like dealing with individuals, find another job. My place of employment placed an order of for about 16 individual's for lunch and called it in. On arrival to pickup items we interacted with an individual whom wears glasses and is the manager. No people skills and very disrespectful during the transaction of payment's. Throwing the pen each time receipt needed to be signed, because of the multiple tranaction's. Totally uncalled for. One we rendering a service and should be thankful for us supporting your business. The manager's personality and customer service skill's are the worst I have ever seen!!!! I thank the God I serve, that he had his hands on my shoulder's today!!!! I believe we will not be conducting business with this establishment anymore. I will never go here again. Nice decor, intolerable service. Went in on a Sat night at 7pm, only one other couple inside. Ordered a pizza and waited. After 20 mins I was starting to wonder what was going on. Only two other people had come in. After 30 mins a guy from behind the counter asks me if I'm waiting for an order. Wow. He said they never processed it- that they sometimes lose track of things. How poor can your service be that you don't even remember the one customer in your restaurant. Very enjoyable pizza. Avoid right at mealtime, the dining room is small. It might be a good opportunity to use their super convenient drive up window. I like the number 16 sandwich, the antipasto salad with their house Italian dressing (which is awesome), their chef salad with their homemade ranch dressing, the pizza I like cooked well done, and their sides. Quite possibly the worst pizza I've ever had. As another reviewer commented, the crust had the consistency and flavor of a stale cracker. The cheese was straight from a supermarket. The tomato sauce had no flavor. And, to add insult to injury, the mushrooms were from a can with the lack of flavor and sliminess that this implies. I was not expecting the quality of pizza that one might find in New York or New Haven or any of the top pizza places across the country. But this was worse than frozen pizza. read more

I would rather go to a mom and pop place than a chain given the chance, pizza mill makes me want to go get a frozen pizza from the supermarket. The pizza could have been worse but not by much. I don't know who makes the sauce here but it's got less flavor to it than two day old chewing gum. The crust is the worst I've ever seen. Bad texture and again no flavor. The toppings were terrible, had mushrooms that tasted like it was out of a can and the green chilis still had the stem pieces on them. Ordered to go it was under ten minutes for delicious subs. We have eaten here many times and I have had their delicious salads oh my goodness really yummy. Never had their sandwiches well today was the day as we had gone to BBD first however they had a line clear to the door at 6 pm. So I decided to expand my knowledge of the menu at Pizza Mill and Sub Factory and they had a few customers. Well worth it I had the roast beef it was delicious and my husband had the Belly Buster and it was a very nice Italian sub, quoted by my hubby the chef. I'd rather not support a chain pizza place, but honestly...Pizza Mill's pizza is just okay. I tried their thin crust, and a vanilla shake...and even the shake was just okay. I don't know how you goof up a milkshake! Salads - very basic. Lots of lettuce with shredded meat. They forgot my olives. The one fun thing about dining inside is their jukebox. This was a regular after church joint for our family. Like clockwork every Sunday we'd go there. The last time I took my kids I spent over 100$ on pizza and their arcade games. We were the only people in the establishment. The man working was horrible and rude, even yelled at my son for side tapping the machine because it ate his quarter. Then I asked to borrow a marker so I could write out names on our cups( I have a family of 7) a girl gave me one and I started, that same man ran up and said "excuse me! did you take our marker!?" Pro's- amazing food! #13 turkey is awesome + the waffle fries and the pizza is excellent! Con's- cleanliness inside the establishment. Very poor :(. Booths are almost all torn and broken plus there are little holes in the wall, vents are all covered with years of dust. Staff isn't rude but certainly not nice, just blah. I was really expecting a lot more from a hometown pizzeria. I've seen the parking lot packed, so I figured it was good. I was disappointed. Very small inside and the booths were packed in pretty close. The place needs an update badly. The pizza was flavorless; thin, bland crust and hardly any sauce. One bite, everyone knows the rules. The pizza was pretty tasty minus missing the New York FLOP it was pretty tasty, thin crust, very little sauce and a mountain of cheese.
