For over 2 years, we get our pizzas every Friday at Pizza Plus in Riverbank. We pay close to $70 for our pizza order. When we get the pizzas home they have burnt crusts. Sometimes it's just one, then again sometimes it's all 3 of the pizzas have burnt crusts. When placing the order, I ask that they don't burn the crusts, as it is a waste of money when the crust is thrown away. This Friday as usual, I requested that the crust not be burnt. I get home to find that the 2 large pizzas both had burnt crusts. This is unacceptable! Timers are needed in this business! This is an example of the quality Pizza Plus is offering, but this is not not the worse piece of our pizzas. read more

I paid 30 dollars for a large pepperoni and mushroom pizza, which I feel like was a complete ripoff. I requested light sauce on my pizza and received it with the normal amount of sauce and light cheese instead. There was hardly any pepperoni and mushrooms on my pizza. Toppings were so scarce they didn't reach the crust, and there was about an inch of just bread and sauce before the crust. This place used to be so good with the amount of toppings that were placed on the pizza, that's what separated this place from the average domino's or little Caesars. Went here for the very first time, ordered our pizza and 35 min go by and nothing so I decided to go up front and ask about it and the girl said " oh we actually burnt it so we made a new one" I told her it would be nice if you came and said something don't you think She replied yes , mind you This whole time Owner was visiting and walking around yet he Never acknowledged the problem... We were craving pizza and my husband found the highly recommended and rated Pizza Plus Riverbank! (We ate at the Ripon location many many years ago, and came across this location via Yelp.) We arrived early afternoon on a Saturday and the ambiance was spacious, lively, upbeat and moderately busy, very clean and recently updated with nice modern finishes and fixtures. I noticed lots of TVs and different beers on Tap. My kids ran to the indoor arcade right away and got to playing. I was greeted cheerfully by a nice young man who took my order. He was helpful and recommended the family meal combo. We opted for a half cheese, and half bacon and cheese large pizza. The combo came with an order of cheesy breadsticks and marinara sauce. I also ordered a small Half Italian Plus and half BBQ chicken, 1 pound of boneless wings (half BBQ and half garlic parmesan) and a basket of fries. We are a family of 5 and we came hungry! The prices were fair for the amount of food you get. The food arrived piping hot and boy was it A LOT! A whole lot of deliciousness! Wow! The pizza was bubbly, steamy and cheesy, the sauce was tangy yet sweet. Toppings were plentiful. The star of the dish-- the crust. The crust was delicious, and Parmesaney crunchy (is that a word?!) and crisp, reminiscent of one's toasted Parmesan cheese bagel that has those little crispy cheesy bits that you love. So yummy! The breadsticks were good too, the marinara dip was delicious as I mentioned before. The wings were good but I preferred the BBQ over the Garlic Parmesan, maybe it was the wet texture to them as I pictured them to be covered on Parmesan cheese but they weren't. (Just personal preference) They were still yummy and I slathered them in Tabasco sauce lol. The FRIES. Do yourself a favor and get 2 baskets! They have a tempura/cajun/seasoned batter vibe to them, crispy yet soft and soooo delicious! We had so much food left over and ate the rest for dinner later! They gave us a large to go pizza box. We were stuffed! I got to talking to the staff and they were so friendly and warm. I spoke to Kelly and told her how much we were enjoying ourselves as we don't get out much. It was my husband's first Saturday off from work and we decided to celebrate with Pizza. Pizza Plus in Riverbank, Kelly, and the whole staff really made it great for us. My sister and I stopped in for lunch for the first time. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. Facilities are clean and well maintained. Salad bar was well stocked with fresh ingredients. I called 30 minute ahead of time for a pick up and when I got here they had not even STARTED prepping my order... the cashier took my money immediately of course then apologized for it not being ready, she didn't seem to know that my order was not ready.. the cook in the back didn't even seem to care when she asked about the sandwiches and just shrugged his shoulders and pointed at my order slip still hung over their deli section. Then she says sorry for your wait what can I get you I tell her large breadstick no cheese she then says I can't hear you what did you say? I repeat it. Our order was 81 dollars! I could not believe my ears when my husband hold me the amount. We got two large pizzas, cheesy bread and buffalo wings and it was 81 dollars. If you have kids make sure you don't bring them unless you want the owner (Mike Horton) to yell at them and threaten to kick them out of his restaurant. My sister and I brought the kids to get pizza since they get out early on Wednesdays. We were the only customers in there. We gave the kids money to go play in the arcade room and ordered food. We were there for only a short amount of time before he went in to the room to tell an 8 year old and a 5 year old he would kick them out if they stood on his "10,000 dollar" machine. Mind you this an arcade game you step into. If you have an issue with a child go tell their parent. We let the lady who asked us how our food was that we were not ok with him talking to our children like that. She went told him right away and he came to our table and said "you wanted to say something" in a very confrontational voice. Not friendly or apologetic more like arrogant and rude. Look at other reviews and you will see the same type of experience other customers have had. We won't be back. read more

The building itself looks nice, which puts it a bitt out of place with the rest of downtown Riverbank. Pizza Plus tastes like pizza you get when you're on vacation and pick a random restaurant because you want to get back to vacationing. This used to be the best pizza around. I have been twice in the past couple months and the quality is not what it used to be. The pizza is soggy and does not have much cheese on it. The ranch dressing is sour and not the best. I dont mind paying this price for good pizza but Pizza Plus in Riverbank just isnt that good anymore. read more

We have been frequent customers of Pizza Plus for several years there Pizza is great. But on Monday May 29,2023 I took my soon and 2 grandsons ages 6 and 3 for lunch there. That day is was slow there we had great lunch I had got my grandsons $4.00 in quartered to play some games as dad and I hanged out at the table. 15 minutes go by my son hears some noise in the play area he goes to checks on his sons. He walk in and sees a talk male figure yelling at his 3 year old telling him if you hit my machine one more time your getting kicked out. My son tells the man what are you doing yelling at my 3 year old son like that, his responded these machines cost me $10,000 each. I'm constantly having to tell the teenagers every weekend to stop. My son said I understand that but my son is only 3 you could've got me I'm his father I'll take care of it but don't you ever yell at my son like that again. When I ask one of the workers who this person was she replied he's the owner Mike. Wow Mike way to go you scared the shit out of a 6 year old and 3 year old that ask me to never take them again. My oldest grandson said you look so mad and looked like you wanted to hit his younger brother. Since your machines cost so much maybe you should just take them home for your own enjoyment unless it's the money you make off of them. A proper adult would have came out and ask who are the parents of the 2 children playing? But you felt like being a bully because of your frustrations of dealing with teenagers. Great pizza especially their garlic chicken! We came across this little pizza shop in downtown Riverbank a few months ago and since then this has been our go to pizza place! Everything about their pizza is great especially the dough! The ingredients taste fresh and their pizza is not greasy. We've tried a few different pizzas there and all have tasted great! The downside of this place is that they don't have a website where you can order online therefore you have to call ahead of time if you'd like to pick up.
