This used to be the best pizza around. I have been twice in the past couple months and the quality is not what it used to be. The pizza is soggy and does not have much cheese on it. If you have kids make sure you don't bring them unless you want the owner (Mike Horton) to yell at them and threaten to kick them out of his restaurant. My sister and I brought the kids to get pizza since they get out early on Wednesdays. We were the only customers in there. We gave the kids money to go play in the arcade room and ordered food. We were there for only a short amount of time before he went in to the room to tell an 8 year old and a 5 year old he would kick them out if they stood on his "10,000 dollar" machine. Mind you this an arcade game you step into. If you have an issue with a child go tell their parent. We let the lady who asked us how our food was that we were not ok with him talking to our children like that. She went told him right away and he came to our table and said "you wanted to say something" in a very confrontational voice. Not friendly or apologetic more like arrogant and rude. We have been frequent customers of Pizza Plus for several years there Pizza is great. But on Monday May 29,2023 I took my soon and 2 grandsons ages 6 and 3 for lunch there. That day is was slow there we had great lunch I had got my grandsons $4.00 in quartered to play some games as dad and I hanged out at the table. 15 minutes go by my son hears some noise in the play area he goes to checks on his sons. He walk in and sees a talk male figure yelling at his 3 year old telling him if you hit my machine one more time your getting kicked out. My son tells the man what are you doing yelling at my 3 year old son like that, his responded these machines cost me $10,000 each. I'm constantly having to tell the teenagers every weekend to stop. My son said I understand that but my son is only 3 you could've got me I'm his father I'll take care of it but don't you ever yell at my son like that again. When I ask one of the workers who this person was she replied he's the owner Mike. Wow Mike way to go you scared the shit out of a 6 year old and 3 year old that ask me to never take them again. My oldest grandson said you look so mad and looked like you wanted to hit his younger brother. Since your machines cost so much maybe you should just take them home for your own enjoyment unless it's the money you make off of them. A proper adult would have came out and ask who are the parents of the 2 children playing? But you felt like being a bully because of your frustrations of dealing with teenagers. Great pizza especially their garlic chicken! We came across this little pizza shop in downtown Riverbank a few months ago and since then this has been our go to pizza place! Everything about their pizza is great especially the dough! The ingredients taste fresh and their pizza is not greasy. We've tried a few different pizzas there and all have tasted great! The downside of this place is that they don't have a website where you can order online therefore you have to call ahead of time if you'd like to pick up. If they delivered it would also attract more customers as well! read more

We ordered a gluten free pizza for my daughter who can't have gluten. We brought it home and she ate a small piece before my wife noticed the crust was too thick. We called and explained the situation and was able to get an actual gluten free pizza. She woke up with bad diarrhea which set her back 2 weeks on her elimination diet. And she couldn't have dairy products on our trip to Disneyland. Employees need to take gluten free orders seriously. read more

During my visit on Monday February 15th around 4pm, I witnessed two young ladies walk in using their moms card and they experienced the most terrible service those poor girls. The manager at the time and the blonde behind the counter were both talking bad about them as soon as they walked out and even worse when they were waiting for their pizza. I over heard that they even over charged them for a pizza they didn't even order. No one should be treated this way, the owner should be very disappointed In the way the employees handled this. Can't say enough about how much I love this place! Large pizza, and REAL BREADSTICKS with ooey gooey cheese on top is PERFECTION and all for $30 bucks! Reminds me so much of pizza from back east whenever I went to see family in the summer. Fresh ingredients, delicious dough and crust, you really can't go wrong with any of the choices of pizza they have. Only thing I ever get 'meh' about is how they cut up the ham. I wasn't really sure about this location. In contrast to the location at Escalon, this one looks more like a bar from the street, probably because there is a bar across the street. Like the other location, prices are a little high--you pay extra dough for all of the extra dough. It's definitely not thin crust but they bake it fully. It took a while for someone to take our order at the counter. There were roughly 8 tables in use, and if they had some carry out work, the three people there should have been more than enough. He was friendly about it, though. We ordered an 8 inch Super Plus and a 10 inch Pepperoni and 2 fountain drinks cost just more than $25, which seems too much. We'll try the 12 inch half and half, but it seemed that it was going to be more like $30, so we didn't want to gamble on it. The shredded ham is interesting as an ingredient on the Super Plus. In fact, all of the ingredients are quite good, and if I put this pizza chain against Round Table, it would win easily. The difference between Pizza Plus and Mountain Mike's is less pronounced but it ends up in Pizza Plus' favor. When the pizzas were ready, they were brought to the table. I'm still not sure why they asked for a name. It seemed as though they were going to have us get them. It felt less customer-oriented than the Escalon store but it worked out about the same. Everything worked out and it was close to the skate park, which was a plus, as it seems I'm always looking for something on the other side of the overpass. I wanted to give a specific compliment to the crew who was working tonight, Friday, February 2. Ross (Mr.Pizza Plus) has trained himself an outstanding crew of young people. And I mean young. I don't think anyone working tonight was much younger than 20. Age means nothing sometimes! These are really great kids!! My family reserved a table for 6:30 and we stayed until about 8:30. The crew was attentive to everyone in the place. Bussing tables as needed, extremely friendly at the register, right there to grab us a cold mug or a plate if we asked for it, you name it. Every single one of them was polite and attentive. The young lady working register was particularly amazing tonight. I wish I would have asked her name. She said it was her first night kind of handling the register alone and she was a tiny bit nervous, but she was so friendly and she did an outstanding job. Yesterday we went to the Wine and Cheese festival in Riverbank and right smack dad in the middle of the festival is Pizza Plus. We decided to go into Pizza Plus because there were signs offering beer cheaper than at the festival plus we were ready to sit down it was hot outside. The place is medium size offering tables and booths inside and an outside dining area as well, unfortunately it was so packed because of the festival but we were just happy to get seats inside. The customer service was stellar. After we ordered our food and got our pitcher of beer one of the owners checked to see how we were doing which is always much appreciated. The staff all wears tie dye shirts and were all pretty chipper considering how busy they were. The pizza came out and I was impressed with the crust and the cheesiness was just perfect. The one star I gave this place is because the pizza was actually good. Otherwise it would be a zero. The service was horrible. The cashier wasn't friendly. I waited 30min (dining in) for my pizza to come out, while others got their's much faster. On top of that, when I finally got my pizza, in the middle of eating, a worker came up to me saying that I didn't pay for my soda drink and that I was only charged for a water. I couldn't believe it because I actually thought I was charged for a soda, because they gave me a cup. I couldn't believe I had sat there for 30min waiting for food, and MID-MEAL someone came up to me accusing me of stealing soda?! Which in fact was a fountain drink, most likely cost the company 10¢.
