I'll have to try the outside tables sometime
Jennifer B.

Why, oh why, did I wait so long to come back?! It was time for another delicious piece of the rock. (Those of us of a certain age are now humming the old Prudential Insurance commercial) Admittedly, it's been a couple years since we've been here. They've painted outside and in, but it's still cozy and has the "local favorite feeling"... and we somehow ended up in the same booth. It was a Thursday afternoon, between lunch and dinner, so it wasn't busy. The plan was simple: thin crust pepperoni and that amazing Marty's salad. It's heavenly-and huge!!! (I wish I could say I had leftovers for days, but I couldn't leave it alone once I got home!) I really enjoy this place: service is personable and prompt, the food is excellent, everything is so clean, casual and welcoming inside. I need to become a regular. It's conveniently located near Brandon hospital, with a parking lot right out front. Somehow, we've always been here at "off" times of day-but I'll bet it's super busy on weekend nights. It should be! This place is gooood. Hope to see you there!

Garlic bread with hardly any cheese! Ripoff!

Pizza had a nice crispy crust but too much spicy pepperoni and not enough cheese. The garlic bread was on a good chewy bun it was too garlicy and they hardly buy any cheese on top (see picture). These guys cut corners with the lack of cheese. Not nice for paying premium prices for their items.

Looking for pizzerias in the Brandon area, we wanted to try something new, and the reviews convinced us to give this place a shot. We don't regret it! We ordered the Arugula Bianca pizza, and it was delicious: thin, crispy crust with a flavor just as we had imagined. We opted for takeout, and both the process and the service were excellent. We also tried the cheesy bread... wow, wow, wow! It was amazing. We'll definitely be coming back for more!

Marty's Original Italian Chopped Salad

The Don was outstanding, along with the chopped salad. Our waiter,( forgot his name) was also outstanding. Ambiance was perfect for us as we watched some of the Bucs game. A quiet small jewel.

The food and service at Pizza Rock were awesome. We were seated immediately and ordered two appetizers. The boneless buffalo wings and garlic bread were delicious. Lastly, the pizza came out hot and was enough for 4 people to share.

Well, they've earned their rating with good reason!…read more A friend and I went on a bit of an unplanned adventure yesterday as the first place we were going to go to was closed for an event. After driving 30 minutes to that place in Plant City and realizing this, we decided, "why not drive some more?". Josephine's was on my radar due to their great reviews across multiple platforms, so we drove another 20-30 minutes to check it out. We arrived at the unsuspecting strip plaza, walked in to what was just one well lit, cozy strip in the plaza and were immediately greeted by Robby, the owner, who asked us if it was our first time in. We let him know that it was, and he proceeded to educate us on everything they have to offer, from their bar, their sandwiches, pizzas, salads, pastas, grocery and so on... the meatball sandwich was calling my name, along with their pizzas and their pastas - so many choices! I did land on the meatball sandwich and got a bag of chips and a glass of wine while my friend got the Italian salad and a coke. For note, this ran us about $45. It was well worth it. The meatball sandwich was 10" and was stuffed with fully ground beef meatballs, seasoned well and very cheesy - so good. I tasted the salad and it was great as well, with plenty of parmesan cheese to cover up the taste of leaves that I was consuming (I'm not a vegetables guy still). While we were dining at the bar, Robby took a bit more time to tell us how the store came to be, being named after his grandmother who, though she wasn't around to see what he had started, would no doubt be very proud as his/his employee service was excellent and the food was no different. At the end of our experience, Robby took our payment and we explored the store a bit. Robby was kind enough to offer me two of their mini cannolis and my friend a scoop of their salted caramel gelato on the house as a way of saying thank you for coming in; again, EXCELLENT service. Since leaving there yesterday, I have recommended the place to 7 people and will continue recommending it to more people due to their great value, service and delicious food. Huge thanks to Robby and the team at Josephine's for knowing how to do things the right way. I'll definitely be back.

We were there to see what kind of plants were for purchase, not getting a great sandwich. While walking the rows of booths we were getting hungry, I did see somewhere they were selling Philly cheese steaks, I dismissed it like really a Philly from a food truck and calling it a Philly also. But as I was walking the isles I caught a view of one of those cheese steaks and wow...I could see it was prepared with a proper Amoroso roll too. Okay, I got to check this joint out and glad we did. We ordered a large to split with fries. Perhaps one of the best in the area. Roll was fresh and steak done just right with cheese and onions. I will tell you this, if your ever at an event and see this truck, make it a point to stop and try it out. If you never had a cheese steak from Philly, this will be as close as your gonna get. Peace.

Frankie's Italian Deli is a solid spot for comfort food. I tried the vodka and Alfredo cutlet…read moretacos, and both were very good. The cutlets were crispy, the sauces were rich and flavorful, and everything tasted fresh. The portions were pretty normal, but still satisfying. I typically order the chicken salad…read moreor a sandwich, and I also place large catering orders for my customers because they genuinely enjoy the food. Unfortunately, after my most recent experience, I won't be returning. I stopped in around 3:00 p.m. and was happy to see it wasn't busy. I went to the deli counter, waited for someone to serve me, ordered my chicken salad, grabbed a soda and chips, and headed to the open register. As I walked up, the cashier called another customer over ahead of me. I waited while he spent several minutes deciding whether to pay cash or by card because of the 4% card fee. I continued standing there with my three items, to the point that I actually set them down and debated walking out. Then, instead of helping me, the cashier motioned for an entire family to come to the registereven though I had been standing there waiting before they arrived. After that, she waved over another customer, and I had to wait while a mother and her two teenagers decided which desserts they wanted. Again, I stood there patiently. When it was finally my turn, there was no greeting, no "thank you for waiting," nothing. The first thing I was asked was, "Do you have a pickup order?" I said no. She then motioned for my chicken salad container, saying she needed it. I placed it on the scale and set my other items on the counter. The cashier then asked, "Are you okay?" I simply shook my head because, honestly, I wasn't. Instead of recognizing why I was frustrated, she continued talking, making comments, and escalating the interaction rather than simply ringing me up. At that point, I asked, "Do you want to argue? Do you want me to go back and forth with you?" I then asked who the manager was. She pointed to a woman beside her, who identified herself as the owner. I asked if she could ring me up instead. Even then, the cashier continued making comments. It was only after she continued engaging me that my voice became louder in response. Rather than addressing the repeated comments from her employee or asking what had happened, the owner immediately said, "Do not raise your voice at my employee." That response was disappointing. There was no concern for the customer experience, no apology for repeatedly being skipped in line, and no attempt to resolve the situation. There was also no acknowledgment that the interaction had been escalated by the cashier's continued remarks before I ever raised my voice. The irony is that I have spent a significant amount of money catering from Frankie's Deli over the years because my customers love the food. Good food will bring people in once. Great customer service keeps them coming back. Sadly, this experience ended that relationship for me. There are plenty of places with great food, but respect and customer service matter just as much. One final thought: this is Florida not NY. Hospitality goes a long way. The aggressive, dismissive attitude I experienced isn't what I expect when supporting a local business. I won't be back.

It is amazing to see small businesses stay in business for so long. That is really telling to the product and the service. I loved the old school feel of the establishment. Everything now a days is so modern and rigid, but not this place. You really feel like you are thrown back in time. There was plenty of seating inside and outside. It also had a drive-thru. Upon entering, we were greeted right away by the 2 young workers behind the counter. I had been craving a rainbow sprinkle ice cream cone so badly. I ordered a waffle cone with vanilla soft serve ice cream covered in rainbow sprinkles. It was so good. The cone tasted fresh and cracked nicely so you know it was not stale. My mom ordered a scoop of ice cream in a cup and she also gave it rave reviews. Many people visited while we were inside enjoying our ice cream so you know its the place to be for dessert!
