A couple days after eating there stomach still hurts after eating pizza here the other evening.

So yummy. We've had the fig and the pig, the meatball spinach, and the rock specialty pizzas. All incredible. Love the crust. The Marty's chopped salad is sooooo good. It's dangerous that I work so close... I've gone to pizza rock MULTIPLE times to grab lunch. Everyone I know that has been has raved about Pizza Rock. Gourmet pizza at an affordable price. I highly recommend giving pizza rock a try!! You won't regret it!! read more

Read all the great reviews so had to give it a try. So disappointed. Took almost two hours start to finish for us to have dinner for our family of five. Yes it is a Saturday night, no it was not busy and yes I could read on the mmm menu that it states it takes 45 minutes for a pizza on weekend (why I am not sure but ok) We ordered cheese bread and mozzarella sticks. These took 30 minutes and came out at separate times. Don't even know when we got our dinners. However my son had ordered a Philly cheese steak and it came out 20 minutes after the rest of our food. Had to ask about it twice and the server said yes it is coming. The French fries that were his side didn't come out for another 10 minutes after his sandwich came out. My daughters both had ordered meatball dish. They were each served in different dishes. One of them was in a iron skillet and the meatballs had a metal taste to them. The other meatballs tasted good. We had to ask for utensils to eat our food with. We had to ask for napkins. Then had to ask for napkins again because the first time the server only gave us three and there were five of us. When we ordered our food there were three other tables in dining room besides us and one other table sat down after us so I really do not see how they were too busy to take care of us. There were other servers besides ours so it wasn't that our server had too many tables. She never asked us if we needed anything or if everything was ok. I typically do not write many reviews but I do rely on them, I know my bad, we were excited to visit this establishment based on reviews. When we arrived friendly staff BUT the pizza, I don't know how else to put it was Terrible is the only word I can use. The crust had a very strange taste meatballs were obviously the frozen kind and the pizza overall was very dry no sauce. We each had one piece then took the rest home. We tried to doctor it up with our own toppings etc but ended up throwing it out. I don't know where all the positive reviews are from but they can't be legitimate. Buyer beware. Third time eating pizza here, it's excellent. I'm assuming the owner is actually working here every day and cooking the food which is probably why the restaurant seems to be running so well and the food is so good. I went tonight for the first time and I loved it, my friend and I had the Brooklyn pizza and it was delicious. The crust was nice and thin and came out crispy on the bottom. I also tried the Beef Empanada... Ah-mazing!! Loved the atmosphere and will definitely be back soon to try some other menu items. Thanks for a great pizza!! read more

My aunt recommended this place to us off of a recommendation from her nail tech. So, I will say my expectations were low because I played the telephone game (look it up) as a kid and the end result was rarely close to the original phrase. This place is located at the intersection of oak field and parsons in a short strip mall. When we arrived there was very little parking available. We took this to be a good sign. When we walked in, we were lucky to find a seat for us as it was busy. We were placed at a table with four chairs. I wouldn't call it a four top as there was barely room for outlet drinks and plates. They bring pizza out fresh and place on the table on a sort of pizza/rack stand. We would need two and had no idea how it was going to work. Turns out that our server had the same doubts and moved us to a newly empty booth. This was still a bit cramped, but doable. The seating here is why I took away a star. It feels very cramped. I understand they are trying to allow plenty of people to sit, it just feels like most seating fits two or three people comfortably. Four people is a bit of a stretch and more would seem impossible. For this reason, we will probably do take out from here on out. This is a fantastic place to order pizza. It is made in a pizza oven that is straight ahead (behind a half wall) when you walk in the place. They offer beers on tap as well. Since opening they have adjusted their menu, but we found out they will still make anything that was once available. We ordered two 12" pies. One just cheese and pepperoni and the other... well it had a name, however I think it was the DC white sauce. We chose to add artichoke to it. Both pizzas were super! The pepperoni arrive with smaller pep on it. This is perfect for cutting. They have grated Parmesan and red pepper flakes at the table. What is unique is the also offered garlic powder in a salt like shaker. The manager stopped by at our table and our server kept us happy. Overall a good experience. The price point was about on par with the calm fungus place (see what I did there?). I had grand plans for photos with the perfect lighting, but my toddler had other plans, so if you imagination can't quite get the picture together, just hop in your car and head on over to grab a pie of your own! read more

We love Marty and his workers! We love our servers, Andrew and Lupe! They are genuinely happy and love their work. They make you feel like family! The ambiance is amazing, clean and relaxing, the people aim to please, and the food is superb! My 8 year old son loves to sit at the bar to watch the master pizza makers make the most amazing, mouthwatering pizzas we have ever tasted. Well worth the trip! Best food ever I will give them that. However we were sitting having a meal when 4 drunk men came in and were louder and more obnoxious then I've heard anybody in a long time.it was like an old western saloon. The owner and cook perpetuated this vulgar and obnoxious behavior. We asked to get our food to go and two other patrons were so disgusted they also left. It's a shame because their food is tremendous. Felt terrible for our waitress because she said something and was shot down by management. No apologies were given when we left and rude comments were made from the outstanding drunks right in front of management. I would never bring kids there and I will never support an establishment that promotes that behavior. I've been there numerous times and it has always been loud which I'm good with. But tonight was unbelievable. No I'm not a California liberal as I was called as I left, but even as a conservative I was ashamed to see that behavior. read more

Hands-down best pizza joint in all of Brandon and Tampa Florida! Not only is their pizza delicious but the owner is a standup guy. He will converse with customers while he's slinging pizzas into the brick oven and if your order gets messed up in anyway he will make it right. Excellent pizza place with an even better staff. My go to is the Chicken Parmesan Panini and a New York Style Cheese Pizza. Never disappoints. The staff is always friendly to me and at this point know me by name! I'm greeted with friendly smiles and hellos every time I walk in the building! The owner Marty is a great guy. Very welcoming. The same for his waiter John. I am in town for a business trip and the owner treated me like he knew me forever. After I had my pizza he invited me to sit at the bar with him and he gave me a couple of drinks on the house. I wish I found this place when I first arrived in Tampa. Excellent food but after about a 50 minute ticket time (thin crust) the owner or manager came out and just said this isn't Dominos where you can get your pizza in 30 minutes. It was clearly a lost ticket or failed ring but he must not have done his diligence. Guy has a great product but zero tableside manners. Doubt with that level of respect Ill be back. read more

My family and I had a family night and came across this place. We arrived about 30 minutes before closing time and received great service. We didn't feel rushed and always checked-in on us. Had regular cheese pizza a few weeks ago. It was ok just not my favorite that would be Cappys. The crust and sauce are great there.

I can't say enough good things about this place. We live about 2 miles away and have never checked it out. We decided to try it tonight after reading the other reviews. We had a drink at the bar and ordered our food to go. We ordered the Maui Waui pizza and the garlic Parmesan wings. The pizza was EXCELLENT and the wings were even better. The assortment of wings varied in size but were very tasty. The employees were very friendly and gave great suggestions. If you haven't been to Pizza Rock you need to try it - you won't be disappointed. read more

I went inside one day and ordered the Mobster for takeout. It was probably the best pizza I've ever had. Two days later I called in my order for a Mobster this time and I walked in 15 minutes later and it was already ready along with my wings. When I opened the pizza box it wasn't even hot and the crust was stiff. It tasted like it was premade and not made when I ordered it. No way it was fresh. I've never had to microwave a new pizza before until now. I also ordered all flats on my wings which was a $2 upcharge they didn't tell me about. To my surprise when I opened the box, the wings were not even all flats and they were overcooked. Moral of story: this place is hit or miss. Ok, I'm not one to leave reviews often, however, this place deserves to be recognized if you are in search of a good pizza. Being a New Yorker and all the hype that goes along with the bragging rights for the best pizza, this place is ranked right up there. We ordered the Butcher and as I always request, WELL DONE! All the ingriedients we're fresh and the cheese and sauce was distinctly flavorful bringing back the memories of my childhood in Pizza Town. The crust was AWESOME! and the key to excellent pizza pie. They have many other unique options as you may imagine and the vibe of the place is cool. It's small and we had a seat by the door as we didn't want to wait 15 minutes for a booth. Again, a good sign when there is a waiting list. I love that its within 5 minutes of our home and in the center of town. Pricing is what you would expect from a high end pizza professional and he is out in the open where you can watch him flip and spin the dough as he is on the constant move rotating pies and other foods in the wood burning oven that is also within view as you watch the Pizzas rise before your eyes. Kinda hidden on Parsons in a strip mall we never frequent. Taco Rey was there for only a short time and we only went there once and it died. Pizza Rock is a force to be reckoned with and one of the reasons I'm leaving a review with hopes that this business is around for a long time. Great PIZZA and a new favorite. Not sure if they deliver but thank GOD for Uber Eats if they don't. Can't wait to try other options on their menu. read more

Just had the fungi and also tried the sausage and pepper pizzas. Delicious!!!! The arugula salad wasn't bad ether. Small friendly place, only a few booths and tables, dozen or so bar stools where you can watch them make it. This is a dream come true. True wood fired gourmet like pizza.
