Got food from this place bc it was next to our hotel. I wasn't expecting much and I was a little nervous bc some of the reviews. But the food was better than I expected and the service was good. We ordered a pepperoni, sausage and mushroom pizza and the Italian salad. The salad was above average good. The lettuce was fresh and it came with plenty of toppings, (olive, pepperoni, salami and cheese). We were very pleased with the salad. The pizza was ok. The crust was kind of bland, but wasn't bad. I like my toppings on top of my pizza so they can cook, but they put the toppings under the cheese. Kind of skimpy on the mushrooms too. The beer is served in a chilled/cold glass which is a huge plus. They were pretty busy and the manager stayed on top of the service. read more

So where do you go to eat when the storm as knocked out phones, internet, and TV and you are jonesin' for food? Pizza Shoppe in Platte City will ALWAYS be my go to. Some backstory. It was December 15th. The whole area was ravaged by high winds, thunderstorms, and tornadoes. I tried to call them, but the storm had knocked out their phones and internet. most businesses had to close up due to this fact. I hopped in the car and drove over. Upon entering, the place was pretty busy and I was greeted by Mannon, Emerson, and Mary Grace. These young ladies were handling a chaotic period very calmly and professionally. They took my order and said they would have to write down my credit card number and run it when the power came back on. Naturally I was hesitant, but the demeanor of these young ladies, combined with a promise to shred the info after it was run, and my extreme hunger made me feel safe enough to do this. Needless to say, I saw the charge come in for what I was quoted and no more. My hat is off to the professionalism these three ladies displayed and how they handled all of the customers efficiently and with true hospitality. The food was amazing as always. I like a lot of cheese and Pizza Shoppe never disappoints. I had a Butcher Block pizza (all meats) and an Italian Salad with their signature Pink Stuff dressing (if you like a hint of sweetness and garlic, this dressing is for you and you can buy it by the bottle at the restaurant or at the grocery store. You do get it cheaper at the restaurant though). The pizza was cooked to perfection with the perfect amount of toppings and the perfect crustiness on the crust. Kind of a letdown, stopped in for lunch, about 2:30 ish, almost all,tables were dirty, I actually ate the topping off,the crust as it had an off taste. I would say this was an off day, but there were too many non Pizza Shoppe things wrong, I've eaten,mostly in Parkville, Lenexa, Blue Springs, so I know Pizza Shoppe Quality, I saw non of that here. Salad/no plate, pizza/no plate, that's a standard. The server was swamped. I am guessing someone didn't show up. OR they run,that way. They were the server/bus/cashier/front of the house. I reserved a table ahead for a large group. 1-The tables were all dirty when we arrived 2-when we asked to have some water cleaned up the waitress wiped the table, then the floor, then the table again! 3-I ordered ahead to keep things easy. When a couple extra people wanted salad we were given a load of attitude and eye rolling. 4-We ate off paper plates, had to pour our own water and go to the counter for refills 5-Our tables were never cleared and we were doing a gift exchange after eating so had to move them to one side to do it I guess when gratuity is included for parties over 8 there is zero effort at customer service. read more

I will give in detail the experience I had tonight at the Pizza Shoppe in Platte City, MO. Let me first say that I have eaten there often, and have never encountered anything like I did tonight. I will also say that I am a somewhat particular person on the occasions that I eat out. I like food in certain ways, and feel as though I'm allowed to order my food that I'm paying for the way I want it. I am always very kind and never do I cause problems. Ever. On with the review. I was meeting a couple girlfriends there for dinner. I walked in at 7:00 just to be stared down before the door even closed behind me. My friend that walked in with me even noticed. I had my Yeti cup with me (with water) in it as I'm trying to drink more water. I usually carry it everywhere I go. I never even dreamed this would be a problem. I don't drink alcohol, as I hate the taste. We had barely sat down when the server came to the table and said that I was not allowed to bring a drink in, as it was against health codes. She started they pay would be charged a $1000 fine. She asked me (not very kindly) to take it to the car. I told her is was water, but she said that doesn't matter. I got up from the table, after voicing my irritation to my friends, and walked to the front door and apparently "slammed" the door behind me. The door is janky at best and it doesn't take anything to "slam" the door. I placed the Yeti in my car and walked back in and looked at the owner and employees standing around the bar vaping and not doing anything of any importance and said loudly "RIDICULOUS" and sat down with my friends. I had no more sat down when Amanda (owner) walked up to the table and rudely stated what the server told me ( I found it strange that she sent the server in the first place if it had been such a big deal) I responded that it was water and that it was a moot point since I had taken it to my car already. She kept talking and I told her she needed to go away from the table. She then said that I had to leave. I said I wasn't leaving because I had t done anything wrong. She said that she could refuse service to anyone at anytime she wanted. I was floored!!! Again I told her I wasn't leaving and she said she was calling the cops. REALLY? She also told me that I was being a "problem" and that I was always a "problem". Again, I just don't get this behavior from a business owner. Especially one that is so unprofessional and tacky as she was. Epic fail! I hope she is proud of her behavior and level of maturity. We got up and walked out-NEVER to return again. I will be contacting the health department in the morning to validate her claim. I will also be letting them know how many code violations I've witnessed there over the years. I certainly think that cooks in the back eating while preparing food is a violation. Or the kids of her manager being up there all the time (in the kitchen area) and all about the restaurant is another violation. Not to mention the fact that tables sit unwiped quite often. The paper towels and toilet paper holders need replenished often. And is vaping and or e-cigarette smoking ok? I suppose it is if you work there. I'm appalled and offended by this establishment and I will be taking appropriate action. I am easy going but when I'm attacked for no reason, it's game on. LET's GO!!! read more

Was staying at the Best Western across the street. Craving pizza for a l cruised across the street to this joint. Being from Cali, this place really reminded me of Round Table Pizza. Nothing special but nothing terrible. The pizza is in no way bank breaking but I feel that it's a hair overpriced. I ate the whole thing so it cant have been that bad right? This place prides itself on this pink salad dressing stuff. Kind of sweet, kind of tangy... Definitely pink. It was a good dipper for the pizza but no substitute for ranch. This pizza is some of the best! Small location but great atmosphere. I was greeted but a really sweet young lady who took our order promptly. The pizza is artisan and of really good quality. The bear selection is served in a super cold mug land priced right! Great stop in Platte City. read more

B- I've had lunch here twice now in the last two weeks. I've tried the Italian Salad ($7.00 I think) and the lunch deal which is a house salad, personal pizza and a drink ($7.77). Reviewing past posts - this location must be under new management; very friendly staff, we come here about twice per month and my daughter loves ordering her "usual" and the server knows exactly what she means :) Their chicken fettuccine alfredo is awesome (the usual) and their queen-sized pizzas are perfect for 2 and a couple of slices for breakfast the next day. read more

They open at noon on Sundays. We were seated right away and got our drinks quickly. The staff is very friendly, the bathrooms were very clean and the restaurant was cozy. They have a big screen TV and a couple of smaller TVs on. We had the margarita pizza, cheese pizza and my parents got sandwiches. Everything was hot and tasty. That's kind of steep for that to be quite honest. Salad was ice burg lettuce with some mozzarella, 2 pieces of pepperoni, some gross crunchy bacon bits (I hate bacon, wish I had known they were putting that on it) and a side of ranch dressing. No onions, which they advertise in the picture of their salad by the way. To her quite honest, the pizza itself only deserves one star. It was quite sub par. I personally think a $5 large from little Cesar's is a thousand times better and their pizza isn't even great. Ate there for lunch today, all 4 of use ordered the individual pizza and salad special they are known for. We sat for 50 minutes waiting for our first course, the salad. With 2 young children this was a challenge. We never received drink refills. Others were walking out of the restaurant because of such poor service and long wait.
