Great pizza and a nice atmosphere. Seems like a family owned and fun place so it doesn't have the feel of a chain run restaurant.

It's been incredibly buzzy, and the chef…read morehas worked at seemingly every famous restaurant you've ever heard of, such as Alinea, French Laundry, and Le Bernadin, to name a few. And it's further afield than we normally do for date night so it felt like a choice he wouldn't expect, which is how we roll. We arrived at about 6:30 on a Friday and it was pleasantly full but not crazy. I had reservations, obviously. The staff had all signed a nice postcard on the table to note his birthday. After we put in our drink order (he got an old-fashioned and I got a Dr Pepper, since I was driving), our server brought over two bottles of Prosecco, one being NA since she wasn't sure if I drank or not, and offered us a toast for his birthday. I thought it was a nice gesture. They ask that you put in your full order at the top of the meal so they can pace it properly. We started with the whipped goat cheese with brussels sprouts and fried saltines. An interesting dish and fun to see saltines reimagined as something high-end. He got their gigantic pork chop and I got a perfectly cooked and delicious KC strip with the creamiest mashed potatoes. I saw half butter and half cream and I thought, that's for me! Lol. That wasn't a cheap entree, but it did include a sauce (I got béarnaise) and a choice of side. I took more than half of my meal home. At that point, she brought out the dessert menu and Kyle decided on the flourless chocolate cake, which is one of his favorites, but that he often doesn't get at a restaurant because so many restaurants buy their stuff from Sysco now. And holy cow, it's the best dessert I've had in ages! A great reminder of how good a flourless chocolate cake can be. Anyway, I definitely would recommend Acre. They did a great job of making my fiance feel really special and just generally had terrific service and wonderful elevated food. Helpful hint: there is a $25pp no show fee on reservations, so be aware of that, and cancel at least 24 hours out if you think you might need to.

I have ordered the slow blossom cocktail and it was amazing. Sweet and sour as our server described. My husband got old fashioned and he thought it was just average. We ordered beef tartare to start with and wow. All you can taste is spicy mustard, it's like eating spoonful of wasabi. Even thought we have mentioned this to our server we did not received any offer to replace it or compensation at the end of our meal. We ordered housemade ricotta cappalletti and that was the best dish! Although the portion was a bit on smaller side it tasted amazing!! We also ordered roasted campo lingo hen - it was good but not amazing. The proportions were off. We got full chicken breast and full leg with 2 pieces of broccolini and maybe like 2tbs mashed potatoes disappearing under chicken leg tasting just okay. For desert we got dark chocolate crème- overall very good. Needed just a bit more or raspberry ice cream( not sure if it was ice cream or gelato or sorbet). Overall I don't think it was worth going back and price tag. I found staters list short and not much variety. Wanted to recommend other carb/cracker options for starters. Goat cheese whip sounded amazing but why would I want fried saltine crackers with it?? Beef tartare came with these seed lavosh that was more like very salty thin crackers. I didn't get it. Additionally - the air conditioning was very aggressive. It was keep blowing right on top of us alternating between cold and hot. Was disruptive.

Luckily, that is where the JC Wyatt House comes in. Not only is the food top rate, but the entire experience is amazing. At the JC Wyatt House, you have dinner in an intimate, small dining room inside a Victorian Mansion. Here is how it works. They are only open on Thursday and Friday, 1130am to 1230pm, for lunch and Wednesday thru Saturday, 530pm to 7pm for dinner. Reservations are required and you will choose your main entree for all of your party when you make your reservation. We went for our wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. We arrived a few minutes before our 6pm reservation and were seated. At exactly 6pm, our server, Chris, started with our choice of hors d'oeuvres. Either a potato and fresh vegetable soup, or shrimp cocktail. My wife had the shrimp, and I had the soup. Both were outstanding. For dinner, I had the lamb, and my wife had the filet mignon. Both came with potatoes, carrots and a roll. Again, both meals were outstanding. We finished with a dessert trio that was amazing. Besides the fantastic meal, the service was first class, and the ambiance was really special. This is a must visit for an amazing meal. Call today and get your reservations.

Well let me start off with the fact they are over an hour away from our home. Considering they have ruined us on any and all other burger and fries, it might become a habit. Husband had the Blackberry Bacon and Blue Cheese Burger. I do not on the norm like blackberries, but on this!!!! The blackberries sweetness stands against the strong overpowering blue cheese and they meld well to make a wonderful tasting combo. I ordered There Goes My Gryo.....how did they get a freaking lamb burger, a very lean meat be that juicy!?!? I dont know but with the peppers, tomato and onion made a fresh hamburger, might be good with some kalamata olive....but I am not complaining. It was delicious. I am picky on my fries and usually dont eat the full amount restaurants serve. I had to stop myself. They are more like a shoestring but not hard or crunchy. Seasoned wonderfully! My suggestion you go in there with a big appetite, grab lots of napkins and be ready to devour the best burger you've ever had!

While the hotel leaves much to be desired, KC Tap & Table their captive kitchen actually has something going on. They have a legit mixologist on duty at the right time, and a curated menu that hits most of the right notes. With a glass rear wall overlooking Berlin Reservoir, outdoor seating and room for breakfast, the space is comfortable and spare enough for private conversation. Service is also light, so there is a wait between seating, ordering and delivery. Despite that, what you see on the interesting menu is worth the time invested. I had their Ultimate Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries. It may have been the best grilled cheese I had ever eaten in a restaurant (my homemade version is still my favorite). This baby is actually an inverted griller. The cheese is melted on the outside of the multigrain, with delicious sautéed onion bits and spices within. Each bite was a crisp cleave with lovely crunch from first to last. The fries were also crisp and tasty. Looking around the bar where I was stationed, the other folks also had good looking plates to consume. Everyone seemed relaxed and satisfied. Conversation was likewise friendly and interesting. Tap & Table does it right.

I didn't have a reservation and was worried I wouldn't be able to be seated but I was by myself so I decided to risk it. The location stands out because well, there's not much else around, a parking lot across the street and not much else. I was offered seating outside and took it, not wanting to wait and where was my table but out front. I was worried that since I was the lone diner that I might get overlooked but my server managed to come check on me while heading inside to check his other tables while I got to enjoy the quiet and watch the sun set and while I had a fantastic meal. The top of the menu has their bread service, which I got and I ordered the tartare, and at the suggestion of the server the chilled corn soup. After having had KC style barbecue the past few days I wanted something a little lighter and was recommended the scallops. I'll start in reverse order here and describe my main. I've made the mistake of ordering seafood in landlocked states and paid for that error. I will wholeheartedly endorse ordering the scallops here, they had that fresh springiness, that light brine and I don't even like sweet potato but it just enhanced the star of the show. The chilled corn soup was also perfect-not overly sweet. I just got the taster but man it was so effortlessly good. A little meatiness from the crab, a bit of aromatics from the cardamom and a surprisingly brief sweet heat from the jalapeno. I love tartare and I loved how it was presented here with a wasabi tofu paste which gave it a little kick and yuba skin instead of bread was a nice touch. So, while we're on the subject, that bread. Oh man, that bread maybe I should fly into KC just for that. My friend was not wrong. On top of that I had their Polychronic cocktail which was like a tropical twist on a Manhattan which was terrific. Definitely the best meal I had in KC.
