Stop in for pizza and beer on a gloomy Saturday! I loved the ambiance and staff was friendly!

My family and I ordered from Pizzeria DeVille (pick up) and it's sad to say we were highly disappointed. Not only did our pizzas come bare and dry, they also came burnt to a crisp. On their website they call themselves "Modern pizzeria serving wood-fired pies..." It's very clear that they cook the pies in a wood-fire oven, because they tasted burnt and had an after taste of an ashtray. We bought 4 pies and even tried to salvage them to the best of our ability, but no luck. We had to toss them all out (and they weren't cheap pizzas). I love supporting local businesses, but if you're looking for good pizza in Libertyville, you might want to take your business elsewhere. read more

This is such a special establishment. The owner is so generous with the community and fellow businesses in town. The pizza is awesome as are the sliders and any of the salads. The staff is friendly and attentive. Can't wait to order from here again. Well done John. read more

This is a welcome addition the neighborhood although has some kinks to work out. The pizza is very good although be aware if you create your own they tend to be severely overpriced. The service is fairly weak and could defiantly stand some improvement. The establishment is cute although lacks much character or identity. Salads were overdressed but fresh. Overall this restaurant didn't leave much of an impression with me to be honest. But perhaps if they upgrade the wine list and improve the service they could come around and compete with other establishments in libertyville. read more

Thumbs up, they take reservations. Order was taken quickly & delivered to the table timely. Pizza tastes just okay. What kind of cheese is this? Crust too thin, toppings sliding off. Pizza is wa-a-a-y over priced, IMO. Salad was great! Would love to come back for salad, but never for the pizza. I LOVE pizza. Seriously. I could eat it any time of the day. That being said, everyone has their "type" of pizza style love. Me? I prefer crunchy, flavorful, thin crust with plenty of texture and a plethora of fresh and creative ingredients. Pizzeria Deville hits the nail right on the head in terms of everything I look for in a deliciously amazing pizza. The crust is fantastic and it's thin and crunchy with a lovely taste from their wood fired oven. The kitchen is open so you can see the cooks working away to create the perfect pies. Not only did we have fantastic service, but the beer list is great, atmosphere is very nice and the food options are awesome. They have a number of specialty pizzas, and you are also welcome to build your own and pick from a long list of yummy ingredients. We tried the Motoring Omaggio with thick cut bacon, brussel sprouts, garlic and balsamic reduction. It was SO GOOD! I have no idea why anyone would give this place a bad review! Salads!!!!! I come for the salads. Ambience is casual, comfy, relaxed, and fun. The look of the huge arched, exposed wood ceilings is dramatic and welcoming. The best pizza in the area. Have tried so many of their delicious pizzas and they are all hand-crafted with thoughtfully chosen ingredients. It's a pizza joint with some flair and great flavor. But I enjoy the salads best. The spicy, delicious beet salad with hot pepper relish is amazing. The beets are so good!! The Chopped Deville Salad with chicken is excellent. The chopped salad has thick bacon, Gorgonzola cheese, juicy, tender chicken, and rigatoni pasta. Eat and enjoy with friends! This place is a great spot to enjoy wine, craft beer, food and friendship. Fantastic pizza place with a great staff. For thin-crust pizza, possibly the best I have ever eaten (not getting into Chicago vs New York conversation, they are different animals in my opinion). Possibly the best part was the appetizer, spicy buffalo chicken meatballs with a gorgonzola dipping sauce. It is like a cross between buffalo wings (with the flavor built in) and meatballs, just incredible and addicting. I then had the "My Favorite Pie" pizza, which included home made meatballs. Given the chicken meatballs, was planning on only eating about half but could not stop. It was the meatballs that were incredible, I just kept taking slice after slice to get the meatballs. Learned from the owner that they actually use the same meat Gibson's does and you can definitely taste it. Overall great and the service matched. All of the waiters were totally on top of things and the front of the house was run by the owner and his family, something you don't see every day. read more

I went there for a mid-afternoon lunch for the first time with my 5-yr old. Pros: clean, hip, live atmosphere without the need to go over the top. Good tasting pizza. Awesome $8 eggplant parm sandwich on two mini loaves. Great portion & taste. Quite tasty salad. Cons: overpriced drinks. $2.50 for a small plastic cup kid lemonade. $4 for a bottle of BUD and $6 for a bottle of 'craft / import'. I would see those prices at a...Firkin-type place but not at a pizza joint. Thus, I only ordered one beer. Nice wait staff & hostess. So happy this place opened up! From the amazing service to the delicious food. I absolutely love the service , Matt is an artisan bartender, an awesome guy who makes some of the best cocktails I've ever had. We were skeptical about trying this place after reading the reviews, and as we waited one of the customers verbally complained to their waiter about their pizza. We decided, we'll only find out if we try it. Upon arriving, we were told the wait would be about 15 minutes. We were seated in 13 minutes - the hostess was very attentive to us, letting us know we would be seated soon. Once seated, we looked at the menu, and had no idea what some of the pizzas consisted of. We had to tell our waiter it was our 1st time here and asked what she recommended. We took her suggestion, and ordered the, "my favorite pie." As we waited, we creeped on other customers pizzas' and saw a lot of them were burnt at the crust. We sat and prayed ours wouldn't turn out like that! We also ordered some bruschetta (chopped tomato, basil, fior di latte) - nothing special. We've had better. When our pizza did arrive, we were surprised and happy to see, no burnt crust! Surprisingly it was pretty good too! Although it had a kick of spiciness to it! Overall, I don't think this will be one of our regular pizza places to go to. Update: I've had taken out about 10 more times in the past year and I feel it is time to upgrade from 2 stars to 5 stars. I haven't had any repeat instances of burnt pizza and in fact the pizza has been perfectly cooked. I also love love love love their chopped salad and appetizer meatballs (my favorite meal). This place might even make it into our weekly rotation. I still haven't made it inside the restaurant as that's a luxury you don't have with kiddos. When these pizzaiolos actually pay attention, properly tend the oven, and bother to ACTUALLY PAY ATTENTION to your order: you are in for a great pie. A 5/5 pie. They can do it...I just hope you get what you order. But, sometimes things go wrong. The orders come in so fast. The oven gets too hot. The pizzaiolos are pushed to the limit. If this happens you might encounter huge burnt areas, sometimes the entire crust might be burnt. Granted, I love some solid char on my pie...so here is what we're talking about. -Do they use quality ingredients. Yes. 5/5 Stars. -Do they sort of make the thing you order. Ordered pizza from here a few weeks ago and raved about it to family and friends. Ordered it again last night and had to warn the same people that we must have just experienced some sort of miracle the first time. We live a few blocks away, our pizza took an hour and a half, it was freezing cold, barely cooked and all slid into a greasy pile in the corner of the box. Never again. We ordered from Pizza Deville for the first time yesterday because there's not a lot of places for Woodfire in the Vernon Hills area. We had it delivered, so that may be part of the reason our pizza showed up the way it did. The center of the pie was soggy and extremely limp to the point where not even a New York fold was doing the job. The flavor was good, but overall the pizza wasn't anything to write home about. I have been to their food truck at prairie espresso for dinner and brunch, and I have also ordered food through ubereats. It is by far some of the best pizza I have had in the north shore. When comparing thin crust pizza of the north shore, then pizzeria deville rivals most. (I also recommend the silo for pan pizza and I also like Mariano's in the order-to-eat section). Pizzeria deville is always rotating flavors and styles and the pizzas remain inventive and delicious. Their breakfast pizza is top notch. We are really hard to support small local business at this awful time, but we've been waiting out in the cold on Milwaukee Avenue for our pizza for 1 hour now. Pick up was at 7:00 PM and now it's 8:OO PM. No, we did not even get a call or text telling us that our pizza would be ready an hour+ late. A whole line of people is waiting outside getting very impatient. They block the pavement, a practice that seems unsafe but inevitable. There seems to be no system in place to pick up your pre-ordered pizza. Why not ask for our cell phone number and text us when go to pick up the pizza at the door? We love this restaurant. Great quality ingredients make a great pizza. You'll find interesting combinations like a honey chili oil on chicken pizza. Yum! 'My favorite pie' is actually my favorite. It's a sliced meatball with mozzarella and red chili flakes. Locally owned and operated so staff is great too! Deville is the real deal. I have made the drive several times to get that brussel sprout pizza I dream about, but then they had to go and make the BEST Detroit style pizza I have ever had. Drove 45 mins to get there. Was there with a large group for a birthday celebration. We all were seated in the basement which is fine since they accommodated all of us. Issue 1: We only had 1 waitress for over 30 of us. Then they started to seat more people in the basement and the same waitress was taking care of them as well. How are you going to have 1 waitress server over 50 people at one point? Needless to say service was slow. Issue 2: The whole group got their pizzas and started to eat while I waited for mine for over 10mins. I didn't mind the wait. Finely I get my pizza. First slice I grab it's all burnt underneath. Same with the 2nd & 3rd. After the 3rd slice I couldn't eat it anymore. I was left with a nasty burnt taste in my mouth. I've had wood fire pizza before & it was delicious. Issue 3: Waitress wouldn't separate the check per cple/family. So everyone had to go through the check and figure out what was owed and either give cash or zelle money over to 1 individual who would take care of the bill. Went for large group dinner, waitress wouldn't do separate-yeah kinda a pain but in 2019 with any POS system usually not an issue. Pizza wasn't good I had a margarita pizza, there was no basil but someone else at the table had the same pizza and had basil. Pizza has a burnt taste. VERY over priced $9 alcohol drinks, $9 glass wine, $20 for a 13" personal pizza. They were out of the brownie. 2 stars for the soft serve ice cream cone but I could also get from Dairy Queen or McDonald's. read more
