Margherita Pizza was delicious. The crust was soft and chewy. If you like crispy crust, this isn't the place for you. I enjoyed the doughy texture. Perfect oven baked taste. The sauce was on the watery side. I'd say average at best. The cheese was ok as well. Average. The best part was the dough. The cream soda I got was hand crafted but they put way too much cream/vanilla flavoring. Very sweet. Wouldn't recommend it. read more

Where have you been all my life lover (of pizza)? After the debacle that was Flattery cafe, I splurged for ANOTHER meal and ordered pizza from Testa, somewhat trepidiously I admit. But luckily I was able to rid my tastebuds of the previous travesty of bites for delicious Neapolitan style pizza. The crust was flavored and clearly proofed at least overnight, and thin but still crisp. The sauce was tangy and highlighted the flavors of simple, but artisanal ingredients, basil, buffalo mozz, and salami. Even reheated in the microwave the next day -- the horror!! -- the leftovers held up. I was able to go from whoa is me-zah to yummy this is pizza. Perfect venue to host my SIL's baby shower! Liz was incredibly easy to work with and was extremely detailed in planning the food and timing of our event. The lighting in the Terrace room was gorgeous and was conveniently connected to the patio which gave our 35 guests extra room to hang out. I came on a Friday night and I loved that it was not insanely packed. The ambience is nice and light. The indoor looks are very cute. The food here is delicious, the tomato bruschetta was so good. I would recommend all pizzas, you can't go wrong. Unfortunately we went while there was a power outage in the vicinity and were unable to get anything fried. I dined here Saturday night with my husband and another couple. We were desperate to find a restaurant that wasn't booked cuz all restaurants in Greenville was jam packed I guess there is a reason why those restaurants were busy cuz food must be good! Yesterday was our first time trying this place out. Just WOW! So impressed with the decor, cleanliness, and overall ambience. I should have taken photos of the place and not just the food, but the foooood!! To start, we had a brunch bruschette with ricotta, honey, raspberry, and lemon zest. We couldn't finish our pizzas because of this, but so worth it! Pizzas are classic Italian thin crust and everything we could have hoped for. In large part probably due to the amazing ovens visible to the restaurant from the completely open kitchen!Ingredients are top notch, from the mozzarella (fior di latte) to the San Marzano tomatoes, and delicious prosciutto and other meats. Another plus we loved was that they have Peroni on draft which is hard to come by! Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. PLEASE give this great place your business! If you like it, keep coming back and tell your friends! Lower Greenville is our favorite neighborhood in Dallas, but it can be very hard on restaurants. Last night I ate at Pizzeria Testa for the first time. I am sure my one-star rating indicates that I will not be returning for a second time. Pizzeria Testa has nice ambiance, but I wonder if this establishment has ever heard of a thing called "salt.'' The pizza lacks seasoning! The salad begged me to eat it just so it could be put out of its misery. After the first bite of tasteless, underdressed spring mix, I couldn't bear the thought of another mouthful, so I pushed the salad bowl to the corner of the dark table where it awaited the server, Brian. Brian spent most of his time behind the bar with no drinkers anywhere in sight. Occasionally, he would make eye contact with our table, then turn his head to appear as though he had something more pressing to do. I suppose the other eight people in the restaurant kept Brian on his toes all night. Or, maybe it was the sight of a restaurant full of empty tables and chairs that stole Brian's attention. Whatever it was, our server didn't serve. Brian was not attentive-- did not refill water glasses, or check to see if we needed anything else. When Brian finally came back to our table at the end of a dreadful meal, he asked if we wanted a to-go box for the large salad that didn't get eaten. We decided to let that revolting bowl of salad greens die a peaceful death, and enjoy the trip back to its maker. I kindly told Brian the food wasn't good-- he shrugged it off and brought us the check without another word. I always enjoy tipping servers generously above 20 percent. They work hard and they deserve it. This was the first time I tipped below the standard amount, and was regretful that our server didn't care more about the service he provided. read more

Dear Pizzeria Testa, Thank you for caring enough to make the BEST GLUTEN FREE CRUST I HAVE EVER TASTED. Every time you try to Google gluten free pizza in Dallas, you get some 2016 article of the same handful of places that offer their pizzas on a typical cardboard frozen pizza crust. (I sound ungrateful--I'm still happy there are places that at least offer this instead of anything.) Your crust is different! It's like you care about making it soft, stretchy, and as close to the real thing as possible. It might even be better. To any other celiac or otherwise ex-glutenites, try their pizza! We've only done take out so far, but hope to enjoy the restaurant soon! read more

This place has a great ambiance and is perfect for a dinner with friends, family or a date spot. There is complimentary valet out front. They have a good wine selection and reasonable prices. We had the Bibi white wine which is $28 a bottle. My friend and I split the mushroom and sausage pizza and it was great! Everyone there is super educated on each dish and they really help you make the best decision for what you are craving. They do have valet parking which is a plus. Our fav restaurant in Dallas! We eat here regularly and the food is consistently fantastic! Our fav pizzas are the Rodfather and Testa Rosa. Their happy hour has a killer martini deal. We've gone with a larger party and just us for date night, it can accommodate any size group. Ask for sides of marinara and Parmesan with the pizzas, and their chili oil is awesome. His name was Alex. He was polite enough until we asked for - GASP - fresh basil for our margarita pizza. That pizza comes with 3 toppings. Tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil. Our entire pizza had one basil leaf. Politely asking for more basil is not a war crime. This guy treated us terribly from then on. You can get good pizza sans attitude in many places in dallas. We had been taking out pizza occasionally from Pizzeria Testa throughout the year due to Covid, but we finally decided to dine out on the patio. The patio was spacious with tables spaced out well and with heaters and fans. The dine in experience gave us an opportunity to try the pizza fresh out of the oven, and we were amazed! The pizza crust was perfectly light and airy with leoparding on the bottom. Our waiter suggested an off the menu item, the "Tri-color" pizza with basil infused olive oil, and it was delicious! In the authentic brick ovens, the pizzas take 60-90 seconds to cook, so you can add on pizzas as you dine. I think it is one of the best spots for Neapolitan pizza in Dallas for sure! read more

Very poor service right from the get go starting the the call I made for a reservation. Took about 5 minutes to make a reservation for 2 on the patio. I had to repeat multiple times the time, # of people. When we walked in, the place was empty and the young lady explained that she was doing her ACT. We sat down outside and wanted to order a bottle of Prosecco ($30)and a glass of orange juice (don't know price) but the waiter explained they cannot do this, if we want to have Mimosa we had to take it by the glass ($5). My issue with that is that the sparkling wine usually used is bad and I rather pay more for a bottle of Prosecco. Since I was not able to so we went across the street to Sundown at Granada and service is great. I like the Pizza at Testa we have been many time but service has always been questionable. Wow. Just wow!! This restaurant opened about 7 weeks ago on Lower Greenville directly across from The Granada Theatre, and talk about a true 'Tour of Italy'. Throughout our entire lunch, our guide (aka server Stephanie) was truly excited, passionate, and knowledgeable about every single dish on the menu and the history behind it. She pointed out the twin 7000lb wood fire ovens in back as well as the 'wine room' to the left as you walk in. "Every wine served in the restaurant is an Italian wine", she said. When it came time to order, we asked what was good, and Stephanie said, "Everything! I haven't had a bad dish here yet!". With that said, our table mutually decided we'd let her chose everything our party of 9 would ultimately enjoy- so we really had no idea what was in store for us until it appeared on the table. I can say that we did not regret letting her chose our meals (something I highly recommend to anyone reading this if you're lucky enough to have her as your server, she definitely won't steer you wrong). For the appetizers, we had the Polpette, Arancini, Rosette Cutto, Prosciutto & Melone, and Bruschetta Pomodoro... There was so much food in front of us, I can really only comment on the dishes I sampled. The Polpette was a dish of 3 or so large meatballs in a 'house-made' marinara sauce was delicious (I might have snuck an extra meatball for myself!). The Arancini visually resembled a hushpuppy, but most definitely was not! It was a lightly fried 'ball' of rice, a meat sauce, and mozzarella. The Prosciutto & Melone came with a decent helping of Prosciutto, Fresh Melon, and thick slices of Fior Di Latte (or Mozzarella). The Bruschetta Pomodoro came with a toasted slice of bread piled high with tomatoes marinated with EVOO, and a touch of rosemary and was delicious! For the Pizzas, we were presented with The Rodfather which came with Mozzarella, Fontina (an Italian cheese), Parmigiano (which is the REAL Italian Parmesan cheese), smoked mozzarella, and spianata (somewhat like a flattened chili pepper),The Calabrese, and Salsiccia & Funghi (my pick outside Stephanie's surprises), and the pizzas were all outstanding with a perfect crust.. it was obvious that the toppings and ingredients within were nothing but the freshest. And finally for dessert, she brought us two desserts which we all split, the Panuozzi and the Tiramisu. Stephanie informed us that the Tiramisu was a closely guarded family recipe that only two people within the restaurant knew the recipe and exactly how to make it. "The recipe is not written down anywhere", she said. It was truly outstanding and unlike anything i'd ever had before! So, if you're ever in the area, Pizzeria Testa is a truly authentic Italian restaurant that cannot be passed up. Pizza and I get along so much. A friend and I were going to an event at the Granada Theater on a Tuesday night, and I had seen that this place just opened up, so I said why not. I was blown away by the interior of the restaurant, the description of how the pizzas were made (90 seconds in a wood-oven directly imported from Italy), and obviously the food and drinks! I shared the Rodfather and Fusilli Pesto and we were more than satisfied with the food. In the words of my friend, "The best pizza I've ever had in my life." WOW. She must have not gone to New York because I've had better, but for Dallas, this is one of the best places if you're into gourmet pizza. The flavor on the Rodfather was very balanced, and the Fusilli Pesto paired well. I also tried Aperol Spritz and the Americano. Both drinks paired well with the food we had. So, at the encouragement of the manager who explained that they were unusually short-staffed on our first visit, we decided to give Pizzeria Testa another shot. Everything was much better this time around. They definitely redeemed themselves. Here are the highlights: - Drinks: The basil gimlet again was superb. Also, I was informed that their wine list is exclusive; they make sure to offer wines that aren't in any other restaurants. I tried a glass of the Aglianico since I hadn't heard of that grape before; it was nice, but I liked the gimlet better. A friend commented that his Old Fashioned was very well done and more interesting than average. - Appetizers: The rosette salami (little nuggets of dough with salami and mozarella baked inside) were scrumptious, and the entree-sized kale salad made a nice family-style salad course. - Pizzas: The pizza experts in our crowd declared the pizza to be much improved this time around, especially in terms of how cooked the dough was (understanding that Neapolitan pizzas are always a bit thin/delicate), and I agreed. We used an extra salad plate to trade pieces around the table. Once again, the Margherita Sbagliata was a winner in the taste category, though the combination of tomato sauce + basil pesto + burrata made it so juicy the thin crust could barely hold up to it. This one for sure needs some folding to be able to eat it, but I still think the flavors are worth it. If you're looking for incredible flavor that's a little less soggy and can be eaten more like a pizza, the Quattro Formaggi is a must-try. That smoked mozzarella...omg. I bet you could get it on any of their pizzas if you asked, actually. It's incredible. We didn't try the Metro pizza again (the meter-long one), with our pizza experts agreeing that it really just isn't a good Neapolitan-style pizza experience (those middle pieces with no edge crust are just too hard to eat). Side note: one of our experts pointed out a man in the kitchen, seemingly directing the baking of the pizzas, whom he recognized as having previously worked at other Neapolitan-style pizza restaurants in the area (Cavalli and Cane Rosso). So, if you like those places, it looks like they have an expert here helping Testa achieve the same quality, and our group consensus was that they've certainly achieved that. - Desserts: The tiramisu is the way to go here, for sure..it outshone the Nutella Panuozzi for everyone except the Nutella fanatics among us (fair enough). We were told the tiramisu is a recipe from the owner's Italian grandmother. It's fantastic. Easily split between 2-4 people depending on how hungry you are and how much of a sweet tooth you have. Also, check out the Fragolino dessert liquor, which is made in-house and delightfully refreshing (if you like sweet strawberry flavor). - Service: Frankie is a star! The kitchen appeared to be much more fully staffed on our second visit, too, and pizzas came out in a very timely manner (and all at once). I really can't say enough good things about their customer service -- that was evident even on our first visit. If there's any issue, the response is an immediate, friendly, more-than-adequate correction without any hesitation or questions. Their service is better than that at most Michelin-rated steakhouses, in my opinion, because it's flawless AND down-to-earth and friendly. You feel much more like a guest than a customer here. Thanks, Frankie and Brian! - Interior: We loved our table near the kitchen where we could see the action. I noticed that there's a beautiful marble bar right in front of the kitchen where you can sit facing the action as you eat. There's also bar seating at the actual liquor bar, which is beautiful as well -- the interior of this restaurant overall is impeccably done.
