Everything you need and want in a pizza place! Me and my gf stumbled upon this place after our hike. It is all by itself on a side street, almost hidden if you will, but I am so glad that we crossed paths. It was pretty busy but we wanted to eat outside so we waited 30 minutes or so (wasn't so bad with all the cute dogs people had). This place has a rotating menu which I found pretty neat. We ordered the daily starter which was a kale salad with burrata and the fingerling potato pizzetta. I never in a million years thought I would love a kale salad, but this proved me wrong. The kale was massaged so well that it was super easy to chew, and the burrata and citrus slices were highlighted by the dressing. I've never had a potato pizza before but this was a great introduction. I had to practically fight with my gf over the last piece. I went for the first time on a Friday evening. Overall the ambience was the best part of the dinner. I sat out at a small table outside the restaurant and it was a quaint, vibrant neighborhood vibe. Heaters were nice and toasty. Customer service was great - even though there was a line up and I waited 25 minutes, the waiters gave us seats to wait on and kept updating us on our place in line. Super friendly staff overall. Food wise, I personally wasn't the biggest fan - the pizzas were very thin and for my taste a bit bland. We're both pizza lovers so we decided to try to find a place in SF to go. Wow, did we get lucky with taking a chance on Pizzetta 211! The menu may have changed since then but I'll include the photo I have. It did take our server a couple of moments to get back to us to take our order. We made sure we were ready by the time he came back. We got the Roasted Eggplant pizza and the Tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil pizza with pepperoni. Both of the pizzas were very tasty! I sort of turned my nose up when my bf was ordering the eggplant one but it was actually really great! It came with some little crunchy bits on it for texture and the flavor of the sauce was amazing! The bits of basil really added a nice brightness to the pizzas. I loved the pepperoni on the other pizza. I love when they curl up into cups that collect grease... that may sound gross but to me, pizza paradise! It did seem to get a little blustery. We sat outside so if you intend to do so, I'd bring an extra sweater. It gets just a little breezy if you sit outdoors. Came here on a Sunday afternoon to try this spot at a very special friend's recommendation. Walked up and got seated immediately. For the two of us, we first split the salad of the day which was super yummy. Fried chickpeas, avocado, cucumbers all tossed in a dill dressing. Herby and refreshing! It was so good we ordered another to eat before our pizzas arrived. Since we can never pick just one, plus a few on the menu sounded too good to pass up, we ordered 2 pizzas: the Farm Egg and the Tomato Mozzarella. I really wanted to love this place and the pizza but the service was just a turn off! After waiting for about 30 min for our food, our server asked, "Do you want dessert because you don't have any plates". I rolled my eyes to tell her we haven't even gotten our pizzas yet! Met up with friends on a Friday night for pizza and quality time - Pizzetta 211 turned out to be a great venue for it. Yes, they didn't take reservations so yes, our party of 5 had quite the wait ahead of us since we arrived at 7:15pm but the heated lamps and being able to pull up 5 chairs into a small circle definitely helped pass the time just a little quicker. Admittedly, we almost lost faith. At about 8pm, we still hadn't been sat and almost got up to leave but the guy that took our name quickly came over and talked us into staying pointing at the table that would be ours. Alright, sold. We began our meal with the cheeseboard which comes with 5 crostini, olives, candied walnuts, plums, and two cheeses. Ours was a funky goat cheese and a smoky hard gouda. Yum. Both were so good and no, that wasn't just the hunger talking. We also opted for a bottle of Fiano di Avellino which was deliciously fruity and not too dry. For pizzas, different people shared different pies. I shared the fresh farm egg pizza with a friend. ABSOLUTELY DELISH. Everything played so well together from the pesto to the sundried tomatoes, pepperoni, and creamy fresh egg. The crust is thin and crispy so it may not be everyone's favorite texture, but I still enjoyed it (even though my favorite style is pan crust). To complete our meal we had to have dessert. We split both the flourless chocolate almond cake and the daily special which was a plum(?) galette. Both again we're great. The housemade whip was definitely also a fan favorite on both. If I had to choose though, I'd go for the galette again. It's play on sweet and sour was just so so GOOD. Reason I'm hesitant to visit Pizzetta 211 again, despite how incredibly delicious their pizza was... my friends and I were appalled with the service. Coming in, we already got the sense that the restaurant is designed as a more intimate setting for smaller parties than as a casual setting for larger parties. So when we arrived, we tried to compromise and told our host that he could split us up into 2 parties of 3 people, if that made it easier for him to seat us. Unfortunately, the host in charge of seating parties treated us with a bit of a cold shoulder. And despite having found 2 adjacent tables so that all 6 of us could sit together, we continued to receive less-than-friendly service from the waiter who took our orders and delivered our pizzas. A beautiful local pizzeria in San Francisco. Recently we went an ordered some appetizers and pizza and everything was good. We ordered the pizza that had the Farm Egg, Coppa and Smoked Mozzarella. Normally I don't really care for pizza's that don't have some sort of sauce, however this pizza had the perfect balance of flavor even with the absence of sauce. The burst of flavor from the cherry tomatoes not only makes up for the sauce but it also balances out the saltiness of the other things going on in the pizza. I seriously can't wait to try more pies here. Everything else was great too. The people who work here are all very friendly and professional at what they do. We ordered: - Field Green Salad ($6) - Two Tomato, Mozzarella, Basil pizzas ($13 each) The Field Green Salad was a nice portion and tasted really fresh. My sister and I split it and really enjoyed it. I would rate it a solid 5/5. Very plain but delicious (we were also starving...) It came out within 10 minutes of us ordering. The pizzas on the other hand were good. I would rate it a 4/5. I can tell fresh ingredients were used, but the cheese was so cheesy that every time I took a bite, I would eat more cheese than the slice I intended to consume and it would leave me eating parts of pizza of just crust/margarita sauce. Other random tidbits -It was nice that the host would periodically update us on our waitlist status every 10-20 minutes or so -We noticed that a lot of customers behind us would wait max ~30 minutes and then order pizza to go -We were the only Asians there -The bathroom was cute - one stall, go straight to the back... a small space but nicely decorated. -Water is free, comes in a cute large glass with however many glass cups of people at your table, self-pour style -Finding parking for this place was a nightmare. I circled 3 times and realized I had to go out further so parked 0.5 miles away before finally finding meter parking. But the meter parking was free (after 6pm is what the signs said) so I think that's why it was so difficult. Overall my sister and I were starving by the time the food finally came and so we ate everything. The food was good--fresh but nothing special. The wait sucked. Our waitress though was really nice! I liked her. The host was okay, it was nice he updated us on our waitlist status. I don't think we will ever return though. But if you are in the area and craving pizza, sure... give it a try! Amazing gourmet pizza! If you're up for crispy and flavorful pizza, this is the place! Four of us came for a Sun dinner and they were full but no constant lines. Their menu was relatively limited, a few salad & cheese options and individual sized pizzas. We shared one salad and four pizza. The salad was tasty but portion was small. The pizza was definitely no joke! My personal favorite was the seasonal farm egg-ham-asparagus pizza, the ingredients came together perfectly and you can't find it in any other places. We tried this pizza restaurant pre-covid and loved it. We had a romantic date night under the sparkling fairy lights, (+heater) and it was magical. I think we had two pizzas last time, one of them being the Italian sausage pizza. Delicious. Recently revisited and got a takeout order of the tomato, mozzarella, basil + pepperoni pizza, really tasty with great sauce and fresh ingredients. The crust was crunchy and slightly chewy. The pizza is about 10 or 12 inch, small but shareable, you may need two if you are not having anything else or really hungry. I was in town visiting my Aunt and Uncle, and they wanted to treat me to a nice restaurant, so we went to Pizzetta. It looked promising at first: a long line, a simple menu, and good reviews. What could go wrong? When we were seated, we were promptly brought our water and menus. We would order our food when the waiter came around (a younger man with longer blonde hair), and that would be the first sense of friction throughout the night. We ordered the daily special; two were offered that day. However, when the waiter mentioned an artichoke salad, my aunt jumped to order that one. She ordered before the waiter could explain the second one, seemingly a little irritated by her excitement for the first special. He explained the second one as well. We also ordered three pizzas: an anchovy pizza, an egg and bacon pizza, and a lemon/asparagus/speck pizza. This is where our night took a turn. As we waited for our food, things that felt odd began to happen. First, our salad took a while to come out (10-15 mins). And when the salad came out, it was the wrong one meant for another table. We get it, accidents happen, no harm, no foul. But then we waited for our pizza to come out, and it didn't come out for nearly an hour after we ordered. Writing a review about slow service is one thing. But as we waited for our food, I witnessed 4 parties seated around us, both dining indoors and outdoors, be seated after us, order after us, and receive their food before us. At first, I tried to reason why that may be, but it didn't make sense. I saw the same pizzas being ordered and delivered to other tables. Perhaps they wanted to serve those sitting outside who might be colder quicker--understandable. But I saw the other indoor tables receive their food before us. I saw the table across from us even stare at our empty table. It felt like a deliberate choice to serve us so slowly. I'm not sure what we did to deserve it, but I only write this review because maybe when you eat at this restaurant, you'll be wondering what you did to deserve such disrespectful service. And I'll be truthful, the food was really good. Perhaps this is a takeout-only restaurant. However, after the service I received, I don't plan to ever go back, and I plan to make sure none of my friends have to deal with being ignored at a restaurant that is so highly touted. We were famished after the race and didn't realize they apparently have a small oven so it takes longer (1hr 45 from being seated to paying bill).
