This place looks and reads better online than in actuality. When we arrived just after it opened and few people already there the host said it would be a 30 minute wait; and we were not allowed to wait in the restaurant. So we went down the street to a local bar. Just after we ordered our drink; within 8 minutes they texted our table was ready. It was wonky and not articulated on their website that one side was for food and the other for beverage. It was a terrible mushroom pizza; undercooked. We were up in Flagstaff to visit NAU, starving by late afternoon we looked on Yelp and Pizzicletta came up. We happened to be in the area at 4:45 and waited till 5 to open. We got in, party of 2 and sat at the food bar, yes it is tiny. Service was as good as could be expected for a 4 man shift, 2 running the pizza, food kitchen and 2 running the drinks and service. We ordered the Formaggi with Focaccia (3 cheese most often Italian), Pizza Rucola (tomato, arugula, olive oil, and parmigiana-reggiano), and Pizza Margarita (tomato, basil, house mozzarella and olive oil). Having lived in NYC and have had the best of the best of pizza, this place was quite good, ONLY if you are use to having wood fire pizza which I love. Understanding that only 4 people run the establishment, I totally understand the limited menu, being aware of a fellow Yelper was not happy with. I was traveling through Flagstaff and decided to try just this little pizza café. I started off with the Caprese salad which featured burrata cheese and honey balsamic vinegar. It was excellent. I then ordered The Marghurita pizza. The pizza is baked in a wood oven, so the crust has a nice hint of smoke. Nice thin and chewy with fresh vine ripened Roma tomatoes with the proper amount of fresh mozzarella cheese. When in Flagstaff, do your taste buds a favor by indulging at Pizzicletta. We had been driving around all day, exhausted from our hike, and famished beyond belief. Their Yelp reviews had us frothing at the mouth, so we placed a pick-up order at 7pm for every pizza on the menu (5 in total, each around 12" in diameter). They told us it'd be ready at 7:30pm. Upon arrival, we decided to grab a quick brew (conveniently located next door) at Mother Road Brewing. They called at 7:26pm, which I distinctly remember b/c I was beyond impressed the pizza was not only ready on time, but early! We stowed the five pizzas in the car, arrived at our Airbnb, and DOVE HEAD FIRST into mouthwatering 'za. All the pies I tried were exquisite, but the Margherita and Amore Oi Mari were ridiculously noteworthy. The crust was perfect, with bits of char, and the toppings just divine, especially the San Daniele Prosciutto. Thank you, Pizzicletta, for turning six Yelp employees' sad bellies into six infectious, smiling faces. We use Yelp for this exact reason: to flag down the best local businesses. We walked in at 2 pm on a Thursday in August, so it wasn't busy. Service from both Pizzicletta and Dark Sky Brewery was timely, servers were friendly and helpful. My husband had three beers, commented that the menu is inventive and exciting (yes, he's partial to German beer styles) compared to the menus we see where we live on the SF peninsula. We ordered the Special Pizza and the Bee's Knees Pizza. Both amazing. Crust is hand tossed but so even, lovely and chewy, perfect bake with a crisp bottom all the way through, not overly salty. Ratio of toppings is just right, not too saucy or too cheesy but very flavorful. The flavor palette on each pizza was thoughtful, including fresh thyme on the Bee's Knees. My husband does not like white pies but really liked the Bee's Knees (which is similar to a sausage honey pizza at Vesta in Redwood City on the peninsula). The Special Pizza had a great kick to it, lovely layering of bold flavors. We really wish this place were closer to home! read more

Five stars, no doubt! This is my husband's favorite pizza place on the planet and he is a total pizza snob. It's one of my favorites, too! Every time we drive through flagstaff (5-6 times per year), we have to get Pizzicleta to go. Sometimes on Friday, heading south, and again on Sunday, heading north. The carne dolce is our favorite, by far. It's incredible! The spicy and honey together is perfection. We also buy our caputo flour from Pizzicleta, so we can make our own Neapolitan pizzas at home in between visits. read more

If I could give this no stars I would, I'm sorry... we have traveled all over this country and by far this has been the worst pizza we have ever had. It was not good at all. Very small, one size option for 24$. It was not cooked all the way! The cheese was not even melted! The pizza itself was soggy. And the crust was still white from it being undercooked. I cannot imagine why people like this place, really Little Caesar's is better and that's obviously not saying much. We would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I love the intimate setting of Pizzicletta. The communal table can be a tight, but a great opportunity to initiate conversation with others. Service and food quality have always been fantastic! The wine, apps, and pies rank high on my list. We usually order a charcuterie and cheese app along with the warm olives. Since I dine w my daughter and her friend, we order two pizzas; a margherita and a custom pie w a meat item. The crust is typical of a high temp oven. Not ultra crispy, yet not doughy. Olive oil on the side is good for dipping the crust stumps. The wine list is commendable and I have been guided to a good Chianti or Sangiovese to accompany our food selection. Quality over quantity. FYI. If you're looking for a typical American pizza (read pineapple, heavy sauce, and meat lover) then it may be best to go to a chain. There is a time and place for a New York slice, this is not it. They have the best ingredients. We had a margarita and added pepperoni and soppressata pizza. It was around 12inches enough for 2 adults. Their crust is Neapolitan style which is slightly different that Philly (where I am from) or NY. It's authentic and amazing. Always amuses me when others compare it to other regional styles. It's suppose to be different and that's part of the adventure. And when you want the best ingredients you pay for it, and you enjoy every morsel. This pizza was good but it is filling! Another place I tried while on a weekend get away to Flagstaff and another place that did not disappoint. The place is kind of small so seating can be diffuse if you arrive at a busy time but we seemed to Have the crowd were able to get a seat right away. Most the tables you share with other customers but there is till plenty of room to not feel cramped. The food was very tasty and didn't take to long to get to us. We started things off with the house bread which came with some tasty butter to put on it. I order the margherita pizza with the soppressata and my wife ordered a marinara. Both were very good and filling. My wife was only able to put away half of hers and I ate 3/4 of mine. I wanted to eat it all in one sitting but I was just to full. The staff was super friendly and helpful in have suggestions for us and checking to make sure everything was going well. This is a place to visit if you are in flagstaff! read more
