They had a promotion that if you spend 75 you get a coupon for 20 off a $50 purchase and I spent 100 dollars and earned the coupon but the girl mischarged me for 110 and so they had to take my receipt off the coupon to do the return and to give me money for the overcharge well my receipts got lost and they were not attached to the coupon and they won't let me use the coupon without the receipt So because of the girls mistake I miss out just disappointed and will no longer shop there read more

I bought not one but two Michael Kors bags here equally almost $300.00. One for myself and another for my mother. After using her bag for TWO days (I kid you not) the strap started ripping and not a small rip, it was very noticeable. I called the store and very calmly explained the problem and was told no refunds on "designer" items, I asked for a store credit and was told they could not do nothing. Definitely will never return to this location again and I would not trust them with such a big purchases. read more

Would highly recommend training for the staff on basic customer service skills. The girl who had me sign in seemed extremely bothered and immediately said just so you know we're being really picky right now because of high inventory. No hi how are you, etc. my friend was also there/we both felt very uncomfortable from our Interactions with her. There was only one person in front of me for intake and they said it would take an hour which seemed ridiculous but I had errands to do in the area so sure. Eventually I sat down 45 minutes after dropping my items off and watched the employees complain about going home instead of going through my items. All in all The process took an hour and a half. The items they didn't take were bizarre as well and everything was thrown and wrinkled back in my bags. The store also was a complete mess. All in all a horrible experience, will never return to this location. read more

I came in about two days ago with one bag of women's clothes with 1 item that still had the price tag on it not worn, two in perfect condition not worn, and 1 shirt that I wore MAYBE twice. I also brought in a bag of men's clothes that my roommate wanted to donate that were all clean and fine. They ignored my bags for a good 10-15 minutes when I was told it would take 10 minutes. Then they wrote my name on the board after going through the clothes in 3 minutes. So I go up and they give me both bags back because of their usual excuses, "they're too worn down", "not the style Plato is looking for" and all of that BS. Don't come here to sell your clothes, especially since mine looked a lot cleaner and nicer than half of what they sell. read more

I give 5 stars for the shopping experience, since I always can find something, even if i wasn't looking for it, and it's always at a great price. However, my review is about the selling at this location. Three times I've brought in a bag of very nicely folded, practically brand new (some stuff actually brand new still with tags), style-appropriate clothing based on what they look for, and it's almost like they don't bother to even look through the bag. Last time it took them 5 minutes to return my huge bag to me, which had about 30 items in it. They claimed they wouldn't take the clothes because "although they were in great condition, they aren't the kind of styles they sell at Plato's Closet." Here's what's funny - about 90% of the items in that bag were PURCHASED AT THIS LOCATION. And as I look through the racks of clothing, some things I do come across make me think "this looks so worn it's about to fall apart!" Yet you see it on the sale rack. Hm. I am currently looking for a place to sell my basically new clothing that actually has logic behind their policy. read more

Ive sold my clothes here twice and have averaged making 25 dollars each time. However, their buying process is odd because they will be picky with what they buy with some people but then a lot of the inventory in the store is stained or extremely out of fashion. I think it depends on who is searching through the clothes. Ive never experienced unfriendly staff but none of them have been very kind. read more

The store is clean & the employees are friendly. Howeeeever, I brought in a bag of 10 or so items and they estimated an hour's wait. Understandable! An hour & a half later, I give them a call to see if my items were ready. I'm told it will be another 30 minutes. I show up 40 minutes later and they have not even started to go through my items. The girl behind the counter apologizes and tells me it will be another 10 minutes. They took 2 Lorna Jane leggings, an LJ top, a new w/tag pair of shorts from Target, and a few misc items (everything in excellent condition) and offered me $19 cash. She apologized for the "minor delay". I think my name had been bumped down the list because I told them I'd go do a few things and be back within the hour. As such, maybe I was not considered a "waiter". 2.5 hours total waiting time on a rainy day. Not only was I not from that area of town, but I also could not pick up the items another day because of their "if not retrieved by close, they'll be donated" policy. read more

Hands down one of my favorite Plato's in the valley and here's why. First it's one of the cleanest and most organized one I have ever seen. It makes it super easy to shop. Secondly they get in some really great stuff in really good condition. Thirdly the girls are so sweet. The girls were checking in on me and even helped me shop around for a bit which was super sweet. One of them found me some super cute shoes for my outfit(I was in need of a dress for a friends wedding). The girls here were super helpful and sweet!! Definitely love this place!! read more

I've been going to this location for a couple years now and I have had nothing but amazing experiences. The girls that work here are very helpful and sweet consistently. The PV location has THE best selection my opinion... My only complaint is that everything is too darn cute and I always spend a little too much here lol. I know I will always find something I'll love! Super affordable!!! One of my favorite place to shop and the employees are the best. I have been able to engage in conversations with Tiffany, Bekah, Sierra, Arielle, Tasia, and Danica! So sweet and helpful! You can always ask them for outfit inspirations! I will truly miss Danica, she was great part of the awesome team Platos has! I wish I knew all the girls by their names but they all wonderful! Hubby comes with me all the time. He likes that there's a guy section. I like it because it gives me more time to look around when he is occupied looking for himself haha! This place is horrible!!!! I honestly think it depends on who is working at the time and looking at your clothes. I brought in 3 full bags worth of high quality stuff and they decided to take 2 items. They offered me $4... I've been there before and brought in probably the same amount and got offered $70. I tried to sell her and was selling Lulu lemon shorts, leggings and shorts all new with tags and they told me they wouldn't be purchasing them. They offered to buy one of the shorts for seven dollars. I said no way!! I then continued to shop around the store and everything was unorganized and messy. I absolutely love shopping here! It is the best one in the entire state and believe me I've been to them all! I love the selection and can always find super cute, trendy items. Their dress selection in particular is amazing! I go about every two weeks just to browse and always end up buying at least one item. This last time I went, Danica in particular was amazing! From the moment we walked into this Platos we were greeted with smiles and friendly employees. Staff is friendly, they keep a clean store, and they have fairly fast service. The problem I have with the store is that they rarely take your clothes. I've gone in there several times with more than ten items. All items being worn once and "trendy". Every time their excuse is " We have too many of this style" or "There is a lot of normal wear on these and we can't take them". Yet you look around the store and they have faded clothes with pills all over them. By all means go here to shop , but I would not suggest going here to sell.. You won't get much of anything except excuses and empty pockets. read more

First off, several months ago I stopped in to ask how their buying worked. Ok, I am a little over 50 and realize this is geared towards a younger crowd. I am however up on current clothing trends, etc. The first thing the girl responded with was that I should be aware they only take younger people brands of clothing. Seriously? So fast forward to today and I stopped in with 3 large trash bags full of clothing. 48 total items, mostly jeans. Current younger people brands and all in very good or excellent condition. American Eagle, Forever 21, H&M, to name a few. They took none of them. I was stunned and asked why? Canned response of they are not taking those brands or styles. Handed me a flyer showing some brands they take that "fly off the shelf". I pointed out that I had some of those same brands in my bags. Again, same canned response of not taking styles/brands. I told her I was shocked because after looking around at their racks of clothing, they have all kinds of styles and brands. WTH? I even saw some Walmart brands in there. She didn't have a response for that. Ridiculous. Won't be back to this location ever. Unfortunately I also have a gift card for Plato's but definitely won't be using it at the Paradise Valley location. read more

When ringing up purchases told her I forgot to mention military/veteran discount and the young girl told me the store has never given military discount yet when I was at this same store a month earlier was given a discount. She wanted to argue with me saying no I wasn't given a military discount. I made my purchase but based off how rude and condescending this employee was I shouldn't have bought anything but will never return. My issue isn't with the discount as its 10%, it's the employee and how rude she was. I am relatively new to Plato's closet. I have been there 3 times and everytime my daughters and I find something to buy. Today was no exception! We ALWAYS receive excellent customer service. I was chatting with a sales associate today named Ally. She was so friendly and courteous to my two daughters. She spoke highly of the company and even commented how proud she was to work there. I thought that spoke volumes of the organization. I was greeted and helped by the other associate working there today and she was equally enthusiastic and sweet. So I went to platos closet in PV for a nice day with my mom and got treated horribly. I'm honestly scared to go back. When I went to try on clothes, this brunette worker kept CHECKING my room to make sure I hadn't stolen anything. She did this three times to the point where it was completely obnoxious. I could feel her watching me the entire time I was there like I was going to take something. Also, she tried to tell me that when I dropped off my clothes I was doing something illegal. She made me show her MY INSTAGRAM so she would let me drop clothes off there. None of the other workers treated me this way, it was the same person that was "fake nice," rude, thought I was stealing, and watching me the entire experience I had. Wish I could give 0 stars! I brought in all new RL Polo, collegiate shirts, trendy jeans, designer jeans(current label, never worn) and purse, and they didn't even go through two of my bags. They were left untouched. Just said I had older style clothing. I work in a consignment store so I know my brands, and I know older styles and labels. I know what's trendy. I think the girls, and specifically one boy who work here are completely unprofessional and rude. I have come here to shop and was profiled due to my skin color by the one boy who works there. Another time I brought in designer shoes and they rejected saying they don't buy heels, but their shelves were LINED with heels. I understand not wanting to take an item, but to blatantly lie to a customer and seller is appalling. I would be ashamed to be a manager for these employees. I normally don't leave reviews but my experiences here have been nothing but negative. Save your time and go elsewhere or sell your clothes at a yard sale! read more
