This coffee shop is in a great location and looks promising but I left with much to be desired. I love the access to the Duck's hockey merchandise but the service between the coffee shop to the merch booth is not it. A coffee shop in a sports themed building would be one of the places l'd expect cheerfulness, a warm welcome, or maybe a smile. They're strictly business up in here with very little confidence in their interactions with the customers. The building is spacious but the vibe and set up felt very corporate and uncomfortable to chill or even study in. The coffee wasn't my favorite, after all my complaints I hoped the coffee would be its saving grace but they missed that mark too. I ordered the volcano latte which sounded promising but the end result tasted like salty, creamy, milk with a hint of espresso. Don't think I see myself coming back for the coffee shop.

    Interior of the cafe

It was my first time here, I've heard that it's good so I gave it a try. I got the Golden Lily Oolong tea because it sounded so pretty. The wait wasn't was too bad, because I went at around 18:00 and so the public parking was also free. However, when it came out I was a little surprised to see how clear and colorless it was. I was sort of expecting a golden brown color, or something more... Oolong? It looked like water, and also tasted like water... It was like water with maybe a hint of oolong... It felt like I bought a cup of $8 water... I loved the atmosphere and the space though, so I would definitely visit again if my purpose was to study. I would also go for a different drink next time, too.

I've heard and seen a lot of good things about this place and went in with high expectations. The inside did not disappoint and it was a beautiful space with great seating! I would come back here to study if that was my goal. However, my friend and I got the Golden Lily Oolong and I was very disappointed. The name was pretty and I had high hopes for the drink. But the drink turned out to be severely diluted oolong tea. The color itself is very light and clear. It might be worth mentioning that this drink was $8.62. My friend and I went on a Monday at about 6:20pm and the space was pretty empty. The service was adequate and I'd like to visit and try a different drink next time. I know that this drink is not the only one at this cafe, but it was quite disappointing for me. If you ever do go to this cafe, I'd suggest any drink other than this Golden Lily Oolong tea. Don't be deceived by the pretty name!

What a fun experience, we took pictures on the Ducks cam, purchased some Duck paraphernalia and enjoyed some delicious coffee. The power play creamsicle was surprisingly delicious. The more I sipped the more I enjoyed it. It was a fun family outing.

Nice quiet coffee shop in a sea of coffee shops around the circle. Love the space, they've brought in a modern stand within an old bank. Friendly staff, some familiar faces from the old Starbucks that closed end of last year. Good for craft espresso drinks.

Nice gentlemen served us. Didn't get his name. Wore glasses. We got the Volcano Latte. Quite delicious.

My girls and I came here after a morning workout.. we ordered 2 Volcanos Latte + Espresso Tonic. The volcano latte is brown sugar + sea salt and it's not too sweet. Super good! If you haven't been check it out!!

Finally got to try out Play! There's a location near me in Fullerton, but my friends and I were in the area and they convinced me to go. First off, the interior is gorgeous and I love the history that goes with it. Yes to utilizing spaces! Anyways, I got the maple matcha and it was quite good. It was 7 dollars even with almond milk (but this seems standard now a days tbh) and with tip came out to a little over 8 dollars. Our drinks came out promptly and the vibes seemed chill. I thought my drink was fine--nothing too spectacular or worth me revisiting too much (unless I want to try out their actual coffee, which I think I will at the Fullerton location).

My bf and I got the iced maple matcha with oatmilk. My bf finished his so fast! That tells me it was good! Gotta ask for less ice next time. Ordering and getting our drinks didn't take too long and the vibe inside was nice. If I still went to school, it'd be a great place to meet up and study. I'll def come back since the matcha was delicious

Historic coffeshop! The building is an old bank, looks like a historic museum! Love the vibe of people working there too, super friendly. A bit pricey but i understand, you are paying to be in that beautiful building

Came here after trying a different coffee shop which didn't have any hot beverages. I did not try the coffee here, my husband said it was 3.5 outta 5 for the vanilla latte. I did try their lemon poppy donut. It did not taste like lemon at all, it was just a donut. I was a bit disappointed in that. Overall the space is massive, though not a whole lot of seating, did see some outlets.. But there is a big open space near where the old teller area is that probably needs more tables or something to accommodate more people. Overall the vibe seemed pretty chill and I would go back here to try the cardamom latte. Service was great, the barista who took our order was very friendly.

    Volcano latte. Excellent

Play is one of the better coffee shops!! Located in the old bank. It's huge ! Parking can suck though. Got a volcano latte. Brown sugar with smoked sea salt. Pretty good. Nicely balanced. Syrups made in house. Overall great cup of coffee. But a little pricey also. Lots of seating to study or to hang out and the workers are always really nice

The orange circle has plenty of coffee options. I opted for this place due to having many people tell me it's great. I've known this location as the Wells Fargo/Starbucks in the past. The building is beautiful but the lack of filled space now is kind of odd. It was my first visit to Play coffee and the menu gives you a name of the drink and nothing further. The staff didn't greet us, say hello or anything. I asked the male working if I could ask some questions about the drinks and I received multiple answers of "it's espresso with brown sugar". I didn't really know what to do with that? I went with a vanilla latte so I at least knew what it was. I'd give the coffee a 3/5. I've had better. When I'm back in the circle, I'll give it one more go.

The coffee is delicious when served sweet and creamy and the staff is always nice to adjust your drink if you don't like it. I typically order the Iced Mint Mojito as its fresh, sweet, delicious and comes with fresh mint! This time I opted for the new seasonal Cashew Cocoa. This drink was also delicious, but a little too sweet for me, and if you don't like cashew milk I would opt for a different beverage. The pastries are on the sweeter side, so keep that in mind if you order the almond croissant or cinnamon roll, but the flavor is there. The blueberry muffin was probably my favorite as it was so moist and paired well with my coffee. This Orange establishment is nice and offers games (like most Philz') so you and your friends/family can play, while enjoying a coffee or pastry. The company even offers used coffee ground to take home for your garden - a full recycle moment! The staff is always pleasant and friendly, and each barista usually has a name tag in front of their station. If the place is busy (and it can be busy) you can also order online for a quick grab and go! The coffee, staff, and atmosphere keep me visiting the delicious Philz Coffee. Thank you!

Every time I come in, there are 5 to 6 employees behind the counter, but more than half of them are just standing around talking and laughing. It creates a distracting environment for the few people who are actually trying to work, and it shows in how slow and disorganized everything feels. What really pushed me to write this review is how often the app is completely inaccurate. I'll get a notification saying my drink is ready, only to show up and find that it hasn't even been started yet. Meanwhile, the person who is supposed to be making drinks is busy chatting with coworkers instead of focusing on orders. This isn't a one-time thing either. It's become a pattern, and nothing seems to improve. Long waits, lack of urgency, and poor communication make the whole experience frustrating, especially when you're paying premium prices for coffee. I used to enjoy coming here, but the repeated lack of professionalism and attention to customers has really turned me off. Hopefully management steps in and addresses this, because right now it feels like customers are not a priority at all.

Still, I decided to give this place a second chance (no angry neighbor this time), and I was glad I did! PARKING: There's street parking around the neighborhood - I parked on Almond Ave so I wasn't in front of a house. The spots right outside the shop were 30 minute only. If you can't find parking there's probably tons as you go east if you're willing to walk. WHAT I ORDERED: Pistachio cream cold brew THE DRINK: Amazing. I've had my share of acidic or bitter cold brews, and this was not one of them. The cream was perfectly sweetened and flavored . SERVICE: Exceeded my expectations. The baristas when I came in were very bubbly and answered my questions and gave me suggestions, and were funny too! I wish I got their names, but they were working on Monday early afternoon - I hope they get some recognition. We also got some samples of the food items (which may have swayed me to get the turkey panini next time I come in). Even with the experience I had above a while back ago, I remember going in to let the baristas know and they were very understanding and apologetic, which I really appreciated. VIBES: Probably one of the top coffee shops to get work done in OC. Here's my work-from-coffee-shop checklist: * OUTLETS: So many. Not at the tables downstairs but in the private rooms and at a lot of the seating upstairs. * WIFI/INTERNET: Yes, good speed * BATHROOMS: Yes, clean * WATER: You can ask for free water * VOLUME: Music was a little bit loud but not terrible * SEATING AVAILABILITY: Lotsssss of seats when I came on a Monday late morning-afternoon. Very cool that there were private rooms (which can be reserved two hours in advance if you call them), tables, bar-style seating upstairs, and most importantly, comfy couches!! * LAPTOP FRIENDLINESS: No restrictions BOTTOM LINE: I can't believe I almost missed out on this gem. I'll be back soon!

The foam was velvety and creamy. The matcha had a smooth, earthy flavor with subtle sweetness. Oatmilk was the default choice, and while I usually think oatmilk can overpower matcha, it worked well in this drink. It is a little pricey for 1 drink, but that also seems to be the norm these days for specialty drinks. This is more of a grab-and-go spot than a place to hang out.
