Took my exhaust manifold in for a bolt on installation. Dude cut my original pipes and added in a hack job splice instead of cutting the tack welds on the fasteners. Lazy half ass shit. He's repairing it or better business is getting involved, or small claims. The pipes are not even the same size and now will cause bad flow. I paid in cash because I want to support smaller businesses and this is what you get. read more

I bumped into a stationary object with my motorhome exhaust pipe while backing up. All my fault but it bent the exhaust a bit causing a crack. Took it to a couple of places that either couldn't get to it right away (no pipe bending machine and they're a major muffler shop), or motorhome although only 25' wouldn't fit in their bay. Saw a friend I hadn't seen in years and his son referred me to Plaza Muffler on Goldenwest by the 22. I spoke with Isaac at the shop and he said they should be able to do it so I scheduled a time the following week. Then I got to wondering if their lift was big enough for a 10,000 pound motorhome. I showed up at the shop, Isaac said no lift we'll just do it outside. Had me pull up next to the shop, he threw some cardboard down, crawled underneath and went to work with the Sawzall. The pipe was off, his other employee (didn't get his name) had a new exhaust pipe and was bending it to the right shape. Once bent, the welder came out and it was done. In and out within 20 minutes. I was impressed with these guys. If anyone needs muffler, exhaust or hitch work I highly recommend them. I never even asked what the price would be, and when I paid I was surprised at how reasonable it was. read more

I have been in a pinch with my car troubleshooting my way through this emissions issue. Obviously you start with the cheap stuff, fuel additives and such but I was still getting an emissions code. I picked up a used OE catalytic converter and new O2 sensors and continued to test with no luck, finally I landed on the most expensive fix - a new catalytic converter. The problem is my little sports car has been out of product for 10 years. A new OE unit is $1500 and that's if I install it myself but hey, good luck finding one! The next option were bolt-in aftermarket units, but there are only a couple of CARB approved options and none were available until at least August! My registration was paid in May! I needed a fix now! I happened to call the first muffler shop near my office (Plaza) it's a father/son operation I think and the son answered the phone and luckily had one CARB approved unit left on the shelf that would be compatible with my car. I asked for a quote and timeline, he quoted my $380 installed which was substantially cheaper than the $600+ I was willing to pay for a direct fit unit. He took my car in immediately and went to work. It took about 1 hour but while I was there I had my ugly exhaust tips replaced with something much nicer and fitting to my car which cost around another $100. Amazing value, fast service and tidy work! While my car still hasn't activated the Catalyst monitor, this is quite normal and takes a few hundred miles to happen. The good news up that it hasn't given the pre-code P4020 or the actual code or check engine light. Plugging my scanner in and running the live data chart, the catalyst function graph is smooth as it should be which is an indicator of successful function. Now I just need miles! I highly recommend these guys! read more

My muffler was replaced in November 22 with a stock muffler on my 90 Jeep Wrangler . 6 months later I went because the muffler they installed had gone bad. As soon as I arrived both gentle men that worked there well started saying that it had to do with my jeep having mechanical issues. My car is in perfect running condition and has not had any mechanical issues. I was told they only warranty their product for 90 days. The fact that as soon as I arrived it was made very apparent they will not be warranty their work or product they sale and install on customer cars. I will not be going back to that muffler shop nor will I ever refer them to any my family and friends. Stay away from them if you want a good product. read more

I really had a great experience here. They told me when to bring in my vehicle and when I did I waited for about 20 minutes and then they were able to fix the problem. They took before and after pictures so I could see what they did. Very honest and reasonable. He charged me $60.00 and it took him about 20 minutes to do the welding. I was at Tony's Tire Club (literally next door from Plaza Muffler) and was trying to make up my mind whether I should get the exhaust done the same day. I said to myself might as well because I'll be saving a trip. Normally I'd go to the Muffler Doctor in Montclair but today it was convenient for me to get it done here. If anyone's local to Montclair, definitely hit up my guy Ernie from the Muffler Doctor. Honest and reliable service! So as I walked over from Tony's, I saw that there was an available spot on the lift so I immediately asked (so unfortunate I forgot to ask for his name, but super chill guy) how much it would cost to delete the resonator from my 2003 Toyota Matrix XRS. He quoted me around $50-$60 and that's super fair. He also noticed that my exhaust tip wasn't centered where it was sitting and it was burning into the paint on my stock diffuser and asked me (before I even had a chance to ask) whether I'd like to get it centered! I told him "Hell Yeah, that'd be sick!" The total out the door for both jobs was unbeatable so I thanked him for his work and definitely will look forward to doing more business with him in the future. If anyone's local in OC, shoot through Plaza for your exhaust needs. In fact I might plan on getting a 2.5" set up soon. read more

I took my SUV to this place on a suggestion from a friend. They do way more than mufflers and installed a new clutch, did suspension work and worked on the top of my engine at a great price. I also had muffler work done and the price and work done was excellent. Big Joe (Jose, but Big Joe is his nickname) is awesome and knows how to fix cars and trucks right. This place is the only place I'd take my cars for repairs now. 5 Stars!!! read more

Called a day ahead only to have the phone answered by a very unprofessional pushy guy who tells me we will be open 8am sat morning. ok cool drive from pasedena show up at 8 sharp only to be told by the same pushy guy that he is completely booked from the day before. could have told me that over the phone so i would not have wasted my time. Also no determination to do any type of custom work. Far cry from the shop it use to be in the 90's its a shame. Santa Ana location even worse. Don't go here I only went because it's close to my house have had them work on other cars I know they remember me.. wasn't very impressed but recently had them put on some pipes and tips on my q45 overcharged me but I didn't care figured they needed money but a few weeks later one of the tips fell off wow great welding ! Went back expecting them to replace it without any questions instead the fat guy tells me I have to go find my receipt and come back and pay for the parts ! Wtf these guys are a huge joke never going back here for anything now my bumper is melting because of their mistakes read more
