It's a little surprising they charge $1 for mango. I don't remember encountering that before at this or other poke spots. This has been my go-to and favorite spot for poke! Their choices are great and it is very fresh every time I go. But my recent visit was rather unsatisfactory, there was way too much sauce I usually pick two(house and spicy mix) all my ingredients and the rice was drowning in it making it way too wet and unpleasant to eat making me not want to finish it. read more

I decided to try this place a couple months ago because I go to the cosmetology school near by and I was not disappointed! The service is very prompt and friendly. I typically get the Spam Musubi, but their seafood selection is also really fresh and flavorful. I have eaten here several times and really enjoy the food. The Poké Bar in the Westgate Mall Food Court has been around for a while now. In every case, I've found the food well prepared and displayed in a cold bar. All of the raw fish is in plain view and looks fresh. Today, I was very surprised by how nice and helpful the young lady behind the bar was. She explained how it worked, my choices, and the various beverages available. I made a custom bowl with ahi tuna, shrimp, crab meat, kale, and other items. Everything was incredible. The ambiance is that of a food court. You go through the line, get your food, and pay. This business only accepts credit cards-no cash, which seems to be a new business model with other food places I've visited. I really like this place and HIGHLY RECOMMEND it! read more

I really enjoyed my delivery order from here. They have signature poke bowls as well as the option to create your own. The bowls come in small, medium, and large sizes. I ordered the medium and felt it was a perfect portion size. For the base, they offer a choice of white rice, brown rice, or greens. You can choose your protein as well. I went with the tofu. It was quite firm and not seasoned, but they included a lot of it in the bowl which made the dish very filling. You can choose up to 9 ingredients, as well as crunchy toppings and roe. Located inside Westgate Mall food court, Poke Bar is pretty decent. I like that they are generous with their toppings (no extra charge for toppings that other poke houses would charge for like crabmeat, seaweed salad, pineapple, edamame, corn, etc). They also have kale (which I've never seen as an option at other places), and three different crispy toppings (I think one of them are almonds!) I wouldn't say their fish is the best (it's good enough if you're not expecting sushi-grade quality) and I wouldn't say their rice is the best (it's not fluffy sushi-grade rice but they do offer brown rice). It is located in the middle food court area of the mall. Starting at 9.99 for 2 proteins is actually good for me. I always go for the salmon and they are nice and soft They have the staples -- tuna, shrimp, spicy tuna, and more. They also have tofu for vegetarians. I like brown rice for my base, semi-healthy but filling. They have white rice and greens too. I would usually put only half of the available toppings just to keep it simple. I do like the option for mangoes for an additional dollar. It goes well with my choices. I also like the combination of sweet chili and ponzu sauce. Since poke bowls are my go-to for a quick "healthy" meal, I GPS'd my way to the closest spot not knowing this was square in a shopping center. MEDIUM POKE BOWL (3 proteins): So much rice! And stingy with the fish :-( Never had a poke place use a melon baller for their protein. Interesting variety of toppings (kale, pineapple, corn, etc.), though they could up the quality. And their crab salad is served warm, flavorless, and dry (no mayo)??? Wat Though poke as fast food is undoubtedly wasteful (carryout containers, disposable utensils, plastic gloves, etc.), Poke Bar somehow added even MORE waste to the process by mixing their fish & sauce in paper trays and trashing each after every order. Maaaaaan, I'm not one to tout moral righteousness for the sake of environmentalism (especially after getting takeout...), but come on-- washable metal bowls aren't that hard to come by. read more

Stopped by here for lunch on a Sunday after church. Pretty darn good poke! located in the westgate mall food court. Usually I don't expect places in a mall food court to be that good and the food you get is overpriced compared to the quality, but this place proves one of the exceptions. I ordered a small create your own bowl. It comes with two scoops of fish and all the toppings you want. Here my thoughts on each bowl component: 1.) Brown Rice / Spring Salad Mix - pretty good base and nice they can do half half. The brown rice had a nice chew to it, spring salad seems like your typically spring salad mix from Costco (not a bad thing) 2.) seaweed salad and crab - wouldn't surprise me again if it was from Costco, but that seaweed salad is so yum, so not complaining. Crab was nice and light. 3.) salmon and scallop - cold and fresh, tasted quite yum. Only minor nit pick would be I wish they were a bit more generous with their scoops. 4.) toppings - all the toppings tasted very fresh and good. I paid extra for avocado and glad that they don't skimp on that like other places sometimes may. 5.) sauce - sweet chili - definitely recommend this sauce if you like a nice kick. I know the owners here, they are very sweet people. I used to be a regular to this food court area and ate here twice. A nice Asian couple owns this place and they are always willing to talk with the community and locals around the area. People from my church sometimes eat here as well as former coworkers at one of my previous jobs. The quality of the food is a little better than other poke joints which is pretty nice. Once you come here you will be served as soon as possible. I really like the toppings here, you get more than other Poke joints. They even have some very good drinks if you are interested. There is a nice seating area once you get your food. I came here until they changed the system to card only. Drawback: I used to eat a lot but are not okay with the portions. I'm really sad to write this review but I didn't think my bowl was very good:( I got a large bowl with white rice, 3 salmon, and 1 shrimp. I thought my rice was too hot and mushy, but I did like how they added the furikake seasoning to it. The fish itself was okay. The sauces just didn't seem to combine with the fish well. At other poke places, I usually see them mix the sauces with the fish before placing it on the rice, but they just squirted it on top of everything and it made everything taste mushy. The spicy mayo also overpowered everything but at the same time I felt like it was also kinda lacking in flavor. I do also like how they give crab salad and seaweed salad at no additional cost though. Overall I just felt like it was bland and the textures weren't right today. Great service and quick with just 1 staff (female, long hair with glasses) managing in the front! I got a small order with half rice/salad (like that there was a sesame & seaweed sprinkle over the rice). I was disappointed that there was no yellowtail so I got salmon & ahi tuna. The protein was cut quite small so it didn't taste as great as it would be if it was cut a little bigger. The various complimentary add-ons were nice with a few options I don't see from other poke places. And there alot of different sauces to choose from. Downside was that I wasn't as full as I thought I would be like when I get a small from Poki Bowl. Also, using a recycle paper plate made it hard to get the rest of the rice as it was stuck to the bottom. I usually like to clean up my rice and not ne wasteful. Lastly, having wasabi on a side container or in an area of the plate where it doesnt blend in with the salad woupd be great. I've had my fair share of poke places and sad to say I probably won't be coming back to Poke Bar. The place is located inside Westgate mall and you can order ahead, but just beware that the prices are higher than if you go in person and order. I felt that the amount of fish I got was really small and it didn't taste too fresh either. I feel like the price point is a lot better if you opt to get the large and like share it with someone or save it for later.
