I don't know where to start. The staff is amazing and very friendly the moment you step through the door. As for the poke bowls, amazing. They go above and beyond on their presentation and my favorite has been the build your own spicy tuna. The amount of selections they have great. I love coming here often for lunch but just make sure to order ahead but you can order in store as well. I discovered this place by accident when killing time and looking for a place to eat. I went there with my mother in law and I was impressed with how nice and helpful they were. My MIL was hesitant to get spicy tuna so they asked her if she wanted to try it. They have her some samples of the tuna and even let her sample the sauces. It was great that they did that as she wound up getting something different. I got the Tuna Lover bowl and it was the perfect size and really delicious. I especially liked the Kani salad. You can also create your own bowl and there are vegetarian options. The seating was spread out, there is outdoor seating (for when it gets warm again, and there was hand sanitizer everywhere. I have eaten at poke hale at least 50 times, and each time the experience is equally as pleasant. I always make my own bowl and get the Crab Rangoons and it is delicious. The spicy tuna and spicy salmon is very fresh and they give you a large portion every time. The work station is very clean and the employees are always very helpful and nice. Now that I am at college with no good poke places, I especially miss poke hale. Also they do not charge you for the amount of toppings you get, like most places do, overall I highly recommend! read more

I got the spicy Salmon Lovers bowl and it was delicious. The bowl was very filling just a little to much onions for me but it was still worth the price. Had a great, quick, pleasant experience here at poke hale. They scoop three scoops of fish into the bowl (it's a good amount of fish) and there are a lot of options of toppings and sides to put in. The bowl was pretty big (I ordered a large and couldn't finish it all in one sitting...a lot of rice, but an even proportion of fish and other stuff too). They have an option of sushi rice, white rice, and brown rice. The staff was super nice and helpful, offering me samples of the different mixes of sauces so I could make my choice. They were very patient too as I tried all the different sauces that they recommended. They gave me a little bowl of miso soup on the house too as it was my first visit, which was nice. I'd say the miso soup itself wasn't five stars (ha, a little too watered down for me), but that's not what I was there for anyway. It was a nice addition to the meal. Atmosphere of this place is really nice too and can fit large groups. I'd prob even come here to hangout or study too if the time called for it. read more

Hands down the freshest, quickest, most satisfying and filling poke I've ever had. I've been to dozens of different poke restaurants and nothing has lived up. Not only is the food great, but the employees are top notch and great people. Last week I ordered a poke bowl and they accidentally didn't put one of the fish I ordered - HOWEVER, today when I came in they assured me they would add the fish at no extra charge and even offered me a complimentary drink. A great addition to the Buffalo Grove/Arlington Heights area! We love ordering take out from this restaurant at least once a week. The service has been wonderful every time we have ordered. Each employee has been very polite and smiling as they put our order together. The price may seem a little high, but for the amount of food they give you in a bowl, it definitely seems worth it. My go-to order is the volcano bowl. Like I mentioned before, they give you a ton of food packed into the bowl. Being a larger patron, I would normally be able to finish my mea like my family taught me. But there have been times when I had to tap out like that guy from Man vs Food. Sometimes the rice is just too much for me, so here's a tip. Opt for the greens instead of the rice, it's a lot lighter and you have a much better chance to actually finish the bowl. I did have the burrito version once, but it is the same price as the bowl and it seems less food. To get your value go for a rice or greens bowl. The employees recently started wearing masks behind the counter where they prepare your food. You know the sneeze guard windows you see at a buffets or the food bars at Mariano's? The masks look like miniature versions of those shields. I don't think I have seen that before, but you can tell they take safety and cleanliness pretty seriously and I respect that! They also take Apple Pay which is always nice to see in stores because they are up to date on their technology. All in all a great place to get a good, fresh meal that you really can't get anywhere else in the area. I am a Poke addict and was quite happy when a Poke place opened up in Deer Park, not too far from my office. No more! Poke Hale in Buffalo Grove is the place the go! Their fish is noticeably better in quality and the portions are quite generous. The place in Deer Park gives you about 1/3rd of the fish Poke Hale does. Everything is very clean and fresh: the fish and all ingredients, the sauces are delish (try the spicy ponzu. Yum!), the portion sizes are decent, and given the freshness and portion size, it isn't overly expensive. Even though avocado is $1.25 extra, they give you a very generous portion of it. The staff are also very friendly. I've been four times in three weeks, and am quickly on my way to becoming a regular. read more

At noon on a Saturday, there was no one there which worried me. You go through a line and tell them your toppings- easy peezy. I made my own creation with lots and lots of toppings. The result was delicious and humongous!! I love-loved it!!! Just a note when creating the bowls your base can be white rice, sushi rice or greens. Really enjoyed the food each time I have gone! The fish is of great quality and super tasty! The staff is friendly and helpful. They have good recommendations if you are unsure what to try. The space is clean and well kept too. The fish and ingredients appear to also be well tended and kept at appropriate temperature. Price wise, they are on par with any good sushi place. Fish(aI took salmon and Tuna) taste nice and fresh, they also put a huge amount of Avocado (it's extra cost , but worth it), I also liked seaweed salad and Unagi sauce on top! I'm so surprised I haven't seen much people inside, but maybe because I came for an early dinner (4:30pm). I ordered for pickup today and everything was going well until I tasted the fish. First, they put spicy salmon instead of the chopped Scottish salmon, and I was agitated with the fishy, old taste. The tuna was a bit better but still fishy/old tasting. The portions of the fish were incredibly small for the $15 price. The movie soup was tasty, the shumai and the crab rangoons were both very good. The rangoons weren't very crispy but the filling was very good. We both were not very experienced ordering poke and are easily overwhelmed. The staff was SO patient and kind, giving guidance and recommendations. 10/10 service and quality. The to go option is also super easy and convenient for picking up online orders! This place has set my poke standards high with all the available options to customize! I go to school in Milwaukee and have been unable to find another poke restaurant with such incredible topping selections, that doesn't overcharge you for each additional item, and that has such variety in the protein options (my favorites: Kani salad and spicy tuna--not tuna chunks with spicy sauce--are apparently very hard to come by elsewhere).
