Had to come and say farewell to my favorite poke spot in Thousand Oaks and honestly, I'm not okay about it. If I could pack this place up and take it with me, I absolutely would. Poke Land has been consistently exceptional every single time. They really have my heart, and I don't think I'm ready to let go. This one's going to be missed but if I'm in the area i will definitely with out a doubt come eat here because its a MUST!!! read more

Decided to stop by this place before heading to the beach and I had high expectations given the ratings. For the price, the portion size is great! 14.99 for 3 scoops of fish. My bowl lacked a lot of flavor. The onion cuts were huge and the cucumber was soft, watery and flavorless. The quality of the fish was okay. Nothing really stood out to me. But given how good the ratings are, I am willing to give it another shot. read more

We frequent this poke spot for lunch and it doesn't disappoint! All ingredients are fresh! I like to get a 3 scoop with half rice and salad. From there it's easy to pile on all the included toppings such as edamame, corn, inari tofu, ginger, wasabi, masago, green onions etc! Sauces are good and I always leave satisfied. Service is great, the place is nice and clean with ample seating and lots of parking. I will continue to come to Pokeland as its one of the best in the area. read more

Craving for some Poke bowl and this place was recommended by my PT. I ordered large poke bowl and I got to choose 5 types of seafood so i got spicy tuna, regular tuna, scallop, imitation crab meat and shrimp. I was hesitant to eat the scallop cuz it's raw and I don't know how my tummy will react. I got their house special sauce and wow! That was plenty and the price is affordable at $15.95 The food was good and service was fast. I think I needed more of the house sauce because towards the end, it became tasteless. Apparently I HEARD, the way that they practice in the back kitchen on how they prepare the food is not necessarily the most sanitary coming from a friend of mine. I can't believe I haven't reviewed Poke Land in TO but this is definitely my fave poke spots in Ventura County! It's located between Rise Southern Biscuits & Righteous Chicken and Layla Threading. There's always a line here so you'd be lucky to be the first to put your order in. It's a straightforward assembly line system where you choose your base, proteins, sauces, toppings and pay at the cashier at the end and different people are putting your meal together. I always get the tuna, salmon and spicy tuna as my proteins on top of white rice & salad base. I load up on the toppings and don't forget to add sesame oil as a sauce because it adds so much flavor. Portions are generous so be prepared to to finish it all since poke is not something you save leftovers for :9 I think I ate here once but I usually take it to-go. Ambiance is casual and there's one bathroom here. Parking is the same lot as the nearby businesses but sometimes you can parallel park in the front. Also, sign up for their rewards program and you can get a free drink or a poke bowl after so many visits :) read more

Great place and hidden gem for poke! I ordered a large bowl, which comes with five scoops of protein. I chose salmon and tuna, and the fish was incredibly fresh. They were very generous with everything - scoops, toppings, and the sauces. The staff was very friendly, and the service was quick. The plaza has plenty of parking! This is probably one of the best poke places in the area. The fish is nice and fresh and the options are great. Service is friendly and fast. This is a super casual place and there's seating indoors. No seats outside. This place is located in a plaza so there's plenty of parking. They pack your food in a to go container when you order, so it's nice to have the option to pick whether you eat at the restaurant or take it to go. read more

It's like chipotle but for poke. Haha I frequent this place often to satisfy the craving for poke. This place is so yummy and so worth it for what you pay! Regular gets you 3 scoops of fish/protein. Love that a scoop of imitation crab and avocado are in used at no extra charge. They have plenty of toppings and it's all free. Customizable to whatever you like or want. Poke Land is my favorite poke spot in the 805. The fish is always super fresh and cold which I love. They also have such a great variety of sauces and toppings. That keeps me coming back as their bowls just always hit right and taste the best. I frequent the Ventura location the most but now I've been here to the Thousand Oaks spot a few times and they are just as good. This location is in a busy shopping center in Thousand Oaks but thankfully no issues finding parking as they are located more in the middle. The shop is always clean and the staff are inviting. I came in yesterday for lunch and the staff were very friendly and attentive. They don't skimp on the portions here and for the price a large running you $16 can't be beat. My go to order is white rice with a mixture of tuna, salmon and spicy crab. I add cucumbers, crab, onion, seaweed salad, crispy onions, corn, green onions, masago, and the sauces are spicy Mayo, eel sauce and chili/sesame oil for me. Such a good spot, definitely give them a try! Always hits the spot. read more

After driving around Thousand Oaks shopping for holiday gifts to friends and families, hunger pains came to fore. Been coming to TO for many years to service cars or just visit friends and family but haven't seen this Pokeland at some point. We decided to try Pokeland and dude, this small poke stall was a kicker, fresh seafood, creamy sauces, excellent staff and not so bad choices. We all know you make your own choice of combinations so I chose to keep it simple: 1 cup of tuna, 1 cup of salmon and 1 cup of octopus. A little white and brown rice and spring greens, with fish eggs, spicy mayo, avocado and a bunch of other more choices that made my bowl sang Happy Holidays! Parking is abundant, be aware that the stall is small so seating is limited but reasonably alright. The poke place was full of people and e ruined seems to be happy and enjoying their lunch. One bonus was this guy who keeps saying, "I'll take care of you, no worries!" Drinks are plenty and this mall area type landscape was perfect for an excellent lunch. So, if you're in the Thousand Oaks area for anything, drop by this place and you'll see poke differently. read more

This place is so good! I got a regular bowl (3 proteins) for about $15 & it included avocado (!!). So many places nowadays charge extra so it was a nice surprise. The service is extremely fast, I think I was in there for less than 10 minutes. The fish tastes really fresh and the bowl was well balanced since I don't like too much rice in my bowls. I've been meaning to try Pokeland for a while and finally got around to going during my lunch break. I ordered a regular (3 scoops) with half brown rice, half spring mix, and tuna, salmon and spicy tuna for my proteins. I added a whole bunch of toppings and sides as well. Everything was very fresh. I was disappointed in the size of the scoops of fish. They were super tiny. The poke bowl ended up being pretty big, but mostly due to all of the toppings and the rice/salad base. I would much prefer a smaller bowl with more fish. They have some seating inside and outside. Parking is really easy in the plaza. I recommend giving Pokeland a try if you're in the area. Just have the proper expectations when it comes to how much fish you will be getting! read more

The reason for this is they don't use plates. They just bring you your seasoned seafood in a double plastic bag, and it is dumped out onto the paper "tablecloth". I saw this happening at the only other occupied table and immediately lost my appetite. My wife, undeterred, ordered some mussels. Ordinarily, we'll also order vegetables with any meal, but the side servings of vegetables are priced like filet mignon. I asked if I ordered the chips & guacamole, did it come with a serving of salsa? Alas, our server said no. What does a tiny amount of salsa cost a restaurant? 50 cents? This is primarily for the management on how to handle the COVID situation at hand. Unfortunately, there was someone, right in front of me in line who began to order their food, and entered the establishment in Thousand Oaks WITHOUT a face mask. And there is a sign on the door clearly stated that every single person needs to wear a face covering before entering the premises. Because, well, as you all know, it is the LAW, because of the pandemic. This person that entered the Pokeland was a police officer. With NO MASK ON. And to my surprise, NONE of your staff told him to put his mask on, nor did they say "leave the establishment until you put a face covering on, because IT IS THE LAW." AND THIS IS A POLICE OFFICER WITHOUT A FACE MASK. I understand if your staff could not be courageous enough to be able to tell the police man that he was not following the law, but because of this, I an insanely upset. I would have said something myself to this police officer, but I knew whatever I had to say would not have mattered, only because I was a client, not a worker. Your staff should have been more abrasive about this, and it made me feel extremely upset that your workers did not stand up for their own rules within their establishment, especially with other people present and could be at risk! If you would like to look at the surveillance for further investigation - the police officer (with no face covering) entered the premises today, Friday May 15, 2020, at 4:14 pm PST. I absolutely love this place BESIDES the owners. If you go here you will get the best poke bowl in town, but with a side of verbal abuse from the owners. The owners are extremely rude to you and their staff, I have almost walked out a few times from the way the person in charge was treating the staff. The owner will yell at them and take over your order and physically push them off of the line if they are not moving fast enough. I have verbally told the owner before, "no on else is behind me and she was doping a fine job, I would like her to continue taking my order, not you," and she just rolls her eyes at me and walks away. If the owner ever does this again while I am there I will find another Poke place, I will not tolerate this kind of mistreatment. read more

Pokeland in thousand oaks is one of the worst poke places to go to even though it's the only one in town. The manager there/the bossy asian lady thats always yelling at the highschool students who work there is so stingy with everything. If you go to this pokeland you know who Im talking about!!! The meat, the toppings, and worst of all the sauce!!!! Everytime I go there I have to ask for extra sauce and literally have to watch them put it on or I will end up with dry poke. Nothing is worse than dry poke!!!! Dont waste your time here, go somewhere else even if it's a little bit farther away because this is not worth it read more

I waited for about 5 minutes until the lone sushi chef gestured that I sit at the bar across from him. There was a menu and sushi checklist waiting for me. He informed me they did not have the salmon roe, so no problem. But then I took the sheet back and noticed he replaced my bluefin tuna with regular tuna, without asking or telling me. They were also out of quail egg. So far .. not so good. I mentioned then if he could make my smelt egg roll without rice and he said yes. Thinking he would wrap it in seaweed, he scooped out two lemon halves and served the smelt egg in two lemon halves. Frankly, the terrible presentation wasn't the issue, it was the chef's lack of experience and practicality. You should be able to eat an egg roll in one bite. He should know that. When I asked him how he thought I should eat it, he said I should scoop it out with my fingers. Wow. Really? When I asked for a small spoon from the waitress, it never came. My hot green tea was lukewarm and tasteless. The restaurant itself was clean but the bar counter was a little sticky. The yellowtail fish was good and fresh. Otherwise, I do not believe I will be returning, due to such deplorable customer service. I do not enjoy writing poor reviews, but was not expecting this place to fall from grace so fast.
