Had a lovely dinner here the other day. It's right on sunset and very close to other restaurants in the area. The food here is prepared well and they have some interesting rolls. My favorite was the Citron roll as it had a nice balance of heat and citrus flavor. They have a TV and a projector, they were playing movies while we were there, but then switched on the World Cup when the game had started.

There is small parking lot in the back. Very nice patio seating and the servers were efficient! Had many rolls and sashimi and toro nigiri. The toro was my favorite but honestly everything tasted good. It is pricier than what I usually sushi get but also better than what I usually get. I wouldn't come all the time but if I'm craving some high quality sushi, I would come back here!

From the moment we walked in the ambience, the lighting the customer service was amazing. Authentic sushi tastes fresh and flavorful. Luke our server was a pure delight to meet and shared his favorites as this was our first time dining here . We were so happy we went with his recommendations and also tried the sweet potato fries, which are a must with the garlic aïoli. This will be a new favorite added to our date nights.

First time here and I love it already! The atmosphere is very relaxing, candlelight's on the tables. The spicy octopus roll is amazing & the lychee ice cream is delicious! The service is great.

Not the best quality sometimes, seemingly just thrown together and tastes like that as well. This is how my to-go order arrived and not the first time. Not asking for a super fancy presentation but come on guys... disappointed in my order tonight overall.

My friend and I had different taste so what we ordered was a compromise. I like nigiri and fried roll. She was avoiding fried food so our rolls were a bit more healthy. The blue fin tuna was fresh and tasty. Other rolls were good but the yellow tail roll was tiny. For the higher prices, I expected better portion on that roll. Overall, good, but pricy. Sushi to Die For in Northridge tastes as good but less pricy.

The vibe at Kombu is quite lively and fun, it's hard to have a bad time here. Service started off really strong but got progressively weaker and less attentive (especially in regard to food coming out) as the night went on and the restaurant got busier. Solid sushi spot with some classic specialty rolls and tasty izakaya option. DYNAMITE MUSSELS - 5 Stars! Favorite dish of the night. This was rich in flavor and the mussels were nice and meaty. SPICY TUNA CRISPY RICE CAKES - 4 1/2 Stars. A fabulous interpretation of this dish. Rice was crispy with great texture and the spicy tuna definitely brought the heat. GYOZA (W CHICKEN) - 3 1/2 Stars. This was ok, probably wouldn't get it again. CRUNCHY ROLL - 4 1/2 Stars. A very tasty roll with great texture and flavors! CITRON ROLL - 4 Stars. A fan favorite here and a very solid roll! SALMON FUSION ROLL - 4 Stars. Another fan favorite and a very good roll! Will definitely be back for their happy hour, and would definitely grab dinner here again but would try to get here a bit earlier when it's a bit less chaotic. Ambiance is great, lively, with a buzzing energy in the air.

Petite was the word for this meal. If 4 mussels, 2 small scallop nigiris, and 6 tiny little yellowtail maki runs me $40 with tip, they better be the best bites I've ever had. Spoiler: they're not. Way overpriced and it seems the portions have diminished (past photos showed 5 mussels instead of 4). But when a meal makes you count, that's when you know you got a problem. Kombu will leave you hungry even after you've long surpassed your budget.

This place continues to surprise me! Been coming for about 10 years but just learned that it's named after the owners dog!! They're super dog friendly and have the kindest staff. Nabor took the greatest care of me and my partner on a gorgeous unexpectedly warm day- the patio quickly filled up! And when our food was taking longer than expected he took ownership of making sure we were good. The food was yummy- as usual- and I even found a new favorite sake!

It was pretty good. Got the Salmon Avocado, Spicy Tuna Roll, and Gyoza. Might order again.

We opted to go back and change before going out to eat. My feet were in pain lol. We waited about 20mins for a table for 3 and finally got seated. The place has a dark and grungy feel with graffiti and stickers literally everywhere. In the center is an open kitchen with bar seats around it. All along the walls were more tables separated by a wooden wall. The menu consists of only about 100 items, 1/4 of which we couldn't order. We were told that we could only order the skewers if we ordered an alcoholic drink, which I thought was lame. Out of the remaining items, there were only 18-20 that I would eat. No one came around to take our order so we had to just ask a random waiter. Order for the table: Fried dumplings $9.99 Corn Cheese $11.99 Potato pancake $8.99 House Lunch Box $6.99 Spicy Fried Chicken Wings $19.99 Kimchi Stew $14.99 Can't really go wrong with fried dumplings or corn cheese. Some spicy sauce on the corn cheese would've made it better! Never had a Korean potato pancake dish before but if you like hash browns, or any kind of potatoes, you'll like this. The didn't have kimchi fried rice but the waiter said the House Lunch Box would be the closest to it. That was delicious! The spicy fried wings had really good flavor. We didn't know that dish was going to be such a big portion. Think it had about 10 big pieces plus a salad. They almost forgot the kimchi stew until we mentioned we haven't received it yet. Kimchi stew a perfect addition to finish our meal.

Cute building with lovely patio seating: from the trailing hanging pothos plants, Spanish tiles, to relaxing latin-house music the vibes were welcoming. I'm not much of a drinker though, when asked if I wanted to make my pina colada a "float" I thought incorrectly about ice cream. It was graciously explained that you take an additional shot of rum and float it on top of the drink or mix in to make it extra boozy. The pina colada is top notch they hollow out a real pineapple to make the drink and it's the size of your face! The watermelon cocktail was delicious and there is also a mezcal option. Tasted like if a watermelon aqua Fresca was combined with a margarita, there is a hint of salt that brings out the fruit sweetness. We special ordered a bunch of different proteins and vegetables at half portions to make a feast: Aguachile- Light refreshing starter, kanpachi perfectly marinated and great for the summer heat. Crispy potato- Phenomenally done fingerling potatoes. Whipped beans- Carnitas on top made this dish. Fried chicken tacos- Found the chicken slightly on the dry side, if there was a creamy/thicker sauce would be even better... nothing wrong with flavor, good mild heat. I did enjoy the fresh shredded cabbage and carrots, reminded me of bahn mi. Empanadas- Loved the acidity of the sauce that cut through the fattiness of the ground meat. Light shell. Crispy Squash flower- Delicate crunch, like an angelic version of a jalapeno popper. Lamb chops- Definition of "treat-yourself" luxurious meat lollipops. The covered outdoor dining area sits next to the rooftop pool, creating a true resort atmosphere. Once you're up on the sixth floor, it's easy to forget you're in the middle of Culver City. You can disappear from the city below for a few hours and just enjoy the atmosphere. On Sunday morning, after my daughter's wedding, our family gathered there for breakfast before everyone headed home. I had the open-faced omelet with wild mushrooms, poblano peppers, Monterey Jack, salsa macha, queso fresco, avocado, and micro cilantro. It was outstanding. I also sampled my daughter's pancakes and ordered a side of the smashed fingerling potatoes, both of which were excellent. The only hiccup came when the server accidentally dumped my side of breakfast potatoes into my brother-in-law's lap after the chrome fry basket tipped off the tray. The pool was on the smaller side, but since there weren't a lot of people, it wasn't a problem. However, the water was murky. The cabana was a nice touch we rented it for two hours from 6p to 8p I don't think I could recommend this timeframe because it got too cold (on one of the hottest days of July) and we couldn't fully enjoy ourselves, had to get out of the murky water earlier than expected. It is a cute spot and has so much potential. Maybe it was good at one point and went downhill or someone just stopped caring. There were only two nice servers and that was the cabana server and the guy who brought out our food during lunch he had cute heart glasses. Other than that, everyone there was cold and offputting.
