Good place. Many toping options and some classic proteins to choose. However, this place no longer gives out free water (you have to buy their water bottle). I love Poke Pop! I'm so happy there's a poke spot that's 15 minutes away. It's my first time going to a "Chipotle" style poke restaurant where you pick what goes into your bowl. I really like the concept and the worker guided us through the steps and told us the types of toppings and dressings. She even offered to give samples if we were unsure of what kind of protein we wanted. I chose the three protein option (Unfortunately, their scoops are very small, but my eyes were hungry too) with brown rice. But after eating it, I was way too full and thought two protein will be good enough for next time. I got the ahi poke, spicy ahi and spicy salmon. All were very tasty with the toppings I chose. Their poke pop dressing is a teriyaki style which complements the poke very well. My hubby got the poke-ritto and it was delish! I felt that its more easier to eat than a poke bowl, which I think I'll get next time. It's kind of overwhelming digging into a poke bowl with all the toppings they give you as it takes a little digging to get to the poke part. The food is kind of pricey, but definitely worth it. You can taste the quality and freshness of the poke and their toppings. The restaurant is spacious, nicely decorated, organized and clean with lots of parking in front. Poke pop is a convenient place if you're in a sort of hurry to grab something quick and chow down. The line is never really long in here and getting a bowl takes less than 10 minutes generally if there are people in front of you. I usually get three fish in a bowl with one serving of spicy tuna and two servings of spicy salmon. The fun thing about poke bowls is you can customize them how you want, but since I like "freebies" I usually just tell them everything that's included I usually go with two sauces max at the end because I don't want too much sodium and flavors conflicting with each other. Yes, I agree that the ingredients are tasty. I agree that the fish is fresh but the portions have gotten way way smaller than when they first opened. I always give a review after at least going there twice. Today was my second visit. Sadly, the service was really bad. The girl working looked like she didn't want to be there. All her answers were short and there was nothing friendly about her tone. After our poke bowls we decided to try the shaved ice. Well that's where it went downhill. The menu said they had a large size $9.99 and a smaller size for $6.99. I said "we'd like to order shaved ice. She said "we can only do the big size." I asked why they offer a small size when they don't have it. "We don't have that." Why not? "We ran out of cups." ? Really? It was like 11:30am. I said "ok, can I do half red bean half mango?" "No we don't do that." Ok. "I'll just have the red bean." Then she says "I'll have to check if we have all the ingredients." Sooooo finally after what seemed like 25-30min our order comes out. Man, was it disappointing. I guess she had to check if they had all 3 ingredients. The middle of the dessert was literally tasteless (usually it has flavor and it is smothered with condensed milk). This is not snow shaved ice and you should save your money. Better yet they should remove it all together from their menu! The description was misleading because it said "red beans, almonds,and red bean mochi." I was thinking red bean mochi ice cream. Nope just tiny little mochi balls that you get at the yogurt shop. When we asked for an extra spoon and extra bowls for the kids she said "we don't have bowls. You can use the (bowl) lids." Then she never came back. Lastly, I noticed the spam musubi in front of the register. $2.99 for a piece of spam and rice. $4.99 for the "deluxe" spam, tamago, eel and unagi. Pricey considering you can get a can of spam for $2.79. Anyway, at least give us enough seaweed to cover the musubi. The way they wrap it makes it messy to eat. It just falls apart. Hope you get good service! If they keep being rude they will go out of business because good service and good food go hand in hand. read more

I was extremely ecstatic when I learned that there was going to be a poke shop in Tacoma. Poke shops having been popping up in the PNW this past year and we definitely need one on the south end. I went the first week when the doors were open and I love the simplicity of the restaurant. The menu is broken down on how to order with a viewing of what you can put in your poke bowl. This was my second poke restaurant that I have tried in Washington. The prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly. This was good and it wasn't bad. Then choose your toppings, like: green onion, cucumber, ginger, tobiko, nori; avocado and octopus salad are extra. Sleek and clean in here with plenty of room.
