Service is great and the food is good the portions are large which makes for left overs for when I get hungry.

I came in 2 weeks ago, ordered spicy chicken, sushi and chicken katsu which came to about $55. I left a $5 tip on the receipt which would've brought the total to $60. When i checked my bank later in the week i saw they charged me a $60 tip bringing the total to $115. I went into the business 3 days later to see what could be done to fix the problem and was told the manager wasn't in but to leave my name and number and id get a call back. Its been a week now i havent heard back i tried calling but they say the manager isnt in and wont be in for another 3 days. I cant dispute the charge with my bank because i didnt keep the receipt and the restaurant is not helping. Horrible service, sneaky charges and apparently the inability to accept and/or fix their mistake. read more

Great food, service is average, but the whole vibe is twilight zone. At one point the waitress starting making balloon animals for a kid. Decorations is a mix of traditional Asian, Apollo astronauts, and the hit music from today (but only the b side, Tracks no one has ever heard) we will be back, but only cause of convenance and location... Came here because we were craving teriyaki. Looked them up online and they seemed to be vegetarian friendly. Boy was i surprised when the lady said that any of their Chinese entrees could be made with tofu. They were all very sweet and patient while we made up our minds. Portions were very large and fairly priced. The lights and decorations were very cozy and fun. Definitely adding this to the list of places we will frequent. read more

This lil shop has been one of the longest running teriyaki shops in Tac Town. The have some of the healthiest portions in the teriyaki game. Upside food quality and Chinese options and japanese options. The grill could use a more regular cleaning as to regulate the amount of char which was more than I cared for, but for the money you can dine and take some for leftovers. Service was good promptly greeted and order taken quickly. Decorations are nice but dated. Still one of the most solid Teriyaki spots still kicking from back in the day. read more

The chicken was chewy like it was leftover from a couple of days ago and there was really no sweet and sour sauce (watered down) to speak of barely any at all. And the vegetables consisted of I guess cabbage chopped up, it was so so. The rice supposed to be steamed but it was mostly dry; again it also tasted like it been left over from a day or two ago and the sauce is teriyaki sauce straight from a cheap bottle. I ordered take out Chicken Teriyaki from here and I must say they give you a mound of chicken, the presentation was nice and I was given soy sauce, napkins, and extra chopsticks without asking, its the little things...... The price point is 14 and change out the door.... Little pricey but not the worst.... Where to begin, the food was delicious it was hot and made fresh right when i ordered. the chicken katsu was crispy seasoned cooked perfectly and could tell that it had been fried in fresh oil. the rice was perfectly cooked and delicious as well. and came with a sweet and tangy sauce that complimented both the chicken and rice very nicely. The lady at the front was so sweet and kind, the service was amazing. she came up to me multiple times just to check in and see if the food was good, brought me water, and extra sauce too and i had not even asked for it. The restaurant was clean and nice and had a friendly vibe to it with music that made me feel nostalgic to 2016. Overall it was a great experience and I 100% recommend and will be coming again. they gave me so much food the small container was packed with rice to the brim and the second larger bowl had a mountain of chicken katsu inside. I work really close so I come here often but service lately hasn't been good. They treat me different from when I'm in my work uniform Anyways I Usually have good food if the cook doesn't leave egg shell in every bite. Disappointing experience. Sad that I don't live in Tacoma anymore because I used to live so close to this Happy Teriyaki. They serve huge portions, great sushi selections and have lots to choose from on their menu! I also love coming here because their staff is always friendly and cheerful, it's like being served by my aunties. Meh. Teriyaki is on almost every corner in Seattle and Tacoma. Happy Teriyaki a chain started out of Olympia has spread across the southern Puget Sound like gyoza sauce sliding across a dumpling. This location is nothing special - interior is worn - ceiling tiles browned out and the bathrooms can surely use a deep cleaning and update. Portions are fairly large - and you can get everything from traditional chicken teriyaki (meat is chicken thighs) to bento boxes and sushi (would stay away from the sushi - fish in the case did not look that fresh). Like all Happy Teriyaki's they smoother and I mean smoother the chicken in sauce - if you want to go swimming that's fine, but you can order it on the side and sauce your own meat if you so desire and if you are a man - you know a thing or two about saucing your own meat. Had a night to myself and decided to order from here via DoorDash. Their selection of sushi is pretty vast, and slightly more expensive than other places ($15 for a special roll vs. $10), and they use chicken breast meat for their entrees, which I like. I ordered a "Killer Shrimp" roll, which is a shrimp tempura roll with shrimp, avocado and eel/spicy sauce on top. The presentation alone for a to-go order was outstanding! The rolls themselves stayed put though every bite, and it was the perfect size and texture. I wouldn't have minded if the spicy sauce was slightly spicier to give it a little more flavor, but I think it was great. I also ordered the teriyaki chicken/lemon chicken combo. The lemon chicken is the best I have had in the area. The breading has a nice crunch, it wasn't soggy or drenched in sauce, and some bites were lemony and others were sweet so you didn't get overwhelmed. I would get that again and again. The teriyaki chicken wasn't my favorite. I appreciate that they put the sauce separately because it was thick and very sweet-I ended up dipping the chicken in just the smallest amount of sauce. The chicken itself was dry and very chewy. I'm hoping I just took a few bad bites and the rest will be better. I found out today that if you don't tip or if you don't press the NO TIP button their system will automatically charge a 15% tip, it took me going into the restaurant and the owner showing me what it does. It automatically charges 15% when you don't press the NO TIP button. The messed up part about it she could've told my husband about her system doing such thing .Been with them for 3 years and this has never happened. She said it's the system and there's nothing she can do about it and call the bank to dispute it. read more

Me and my family love this place. This is our go to teriyaki/ sushi Spott when we don't want to spend and astronomical amount of money. The restaurant inside is clean and inviting Good also set up just like every other teriyaki place. They have a nice little sushi bar inside with a guy rolling him fresh. Spicy chicken teriyaki The spicy chicken teriyaki is good super spicy to me and I eat spicy food. The only downfall is it needs a little extra sauce to add some flavor like teriyaki or soy. The sushi I've only gotten rolls at this place they have a decent one that's my favorite it's called the mega tuna roll it looks appetizing on the plate and taste good too. I don't think the tuna is as fresh as it could be but hey what can you say it's only a teriyaki spot read more
