Fads come and go. Not so long ago, poke was a huge fad. Everyone wanted some, and almost every spot was pretty busy with foot traffic of people who needed their poke. It's started to die down, and now we can really see what locations will stand the test of time. We tried this place yesterday, and honestly it was a pretty good experience. The poke option are nearly identical to most places, but they also have cooked shrimp as an option for protein. Sign me up! The staff was really friendly in giving my wife options in terms of what she could eat as she is currently pregnant. They also have udon, sushi, and boba tea! Yes, this place is covering all of it's bases. It's a small location, but the friendly staff and the quality of food are what really matter at the end of the day. Overall, a great spot. Poke Xpress plus Aiyah T House is located in Milpitas. I've had Poke Bowls from here, and they are good. Today, I already had lunch, but I wanted a drink. Since I was in the neighborhood, I dropped by. The staff was friendly and courteous as I placed my order for a Mango Green Tea with Honey Boba. The drink was made in no time. Poke Xpress has fresh fish, tasty sauce, and good service. However, the dryness of the imitation crab was noticeably detracting amongst other things. I ordered a large 4 protein bowl on a bed of greens. The greens were plain wet lettuce, which should have been dried before serving, or even better, use a spring greens salad mix. The imitation crab was dry and I'd suggest using a different brand, then premixed in mayo and serve. Could use some improvement, and I look forward to trying Poke Xpress again. read more

Poke Xpress has a pretty good variety of toppings and their prices are reasonable. I've tried some of their rolls and udon and they're pretty good as well. Sushi rolls were slightly smaller than expected though. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious their udon broth is and I liked how they added more toppings to the bowl than what you'd get at a typical Japanese restaurant. This is one of my favorite poke places I've been in the bay area. Here is the reason why: Service: Gina is one of the nicest person you meet. Always smiling and addresses people personally and remembers what you order when you go here more frequently. She will make sure you feel valued Food Quantity: the amount of fish you get is nuts! They are not stingy with giving you scoops of fish. You'll end up having a full bowl that will last for two meals. Fish variety is also great, tofu for vegetarian, ahi tuna, marinated ahi tuna, salmon, marinated salmon, shrimp, yellow tail. Overall good choice! You can also get bubble tea, sushi rolls or udon noodle soup. Food taste: one of the best I've eaten. Don't expect the freshest fish like you get in Hawaii or sushi stores. The mix is just super tasty. They have spicy crab (free), avocado (free) and different level of spicy (fire is the highest and it's not spicy at all but rather tasty). The full bowl with tasty marinated fish and the combo of ingredients and sauces are just phenomenal. I am a fan and have been eating here often. Previously, I've been going to Poke House on Hostetter Rd. since that was the closest poke spot to me in Milpitas last year. BUT the parking there sucks. Thankfully, this year, several more places opened, including Poke Xpress. So my cousin, brother and I decided to check this one out. We were the only ones there when we came. The poke bowls are reasonably priced and fish was fresh. We told them it was our first time and they gave each of us a bowl of miso soup! The regular poke bowl ($10.95) comes with 3 proteins, so I got ahi tuna, salmon and yellowtail. I got the House Spicy Sauce and Sesame Shoyu. The miso soup came out hot, standard, nothing special. But it was nice especially since it was free. Oh also, they don't charge for avocados unless you want more. So that's a perk for those who like avocados (not me). First time going to Poke Xpress! I came in on a Saturday during lunch around 1pm, to a almost full parking lot. I got a $10.95 Regular/Medium Bowl (3 Scoops), which ended up being $11.94 total. The cashier/server behind the counter was really sweet and helpful. As it was my first time there, I was just getting oriented to the menu, the steps they had. But the server helpful in showing me their steps (also listed above on a menu) and the corresponding areas where the food is scooped from. I ran through all the steps pretty quick Sushi rice, 3 scoops of Tuna, Salmon, and Tilapia (all spicy), onions & avocadeo (mixed into the before other toppings), toppings, and sauce. Toppings I ordered: Green beans, seaweed salad, macaroni salad (this was something I haven't seen at many other poke places), corn, furikake, and a handful of others I went with two non-spicy sauce and was ready to checkout! Offered boba/milk tea the register, which is the typical white tap-screen you see at many small food shops today. Their receipt system is Clover, where you can print or email the receipt to yourself. I also received a stamp rewards card - for every 10, you receive one free poke bowl. They had a tray of cute little cups for soysauce next to the utensils, so I grab that and a spoon (which works, but was a little flimsy for the sushi rice) Overall, in and out in around 3 minutes. Store Experience: loved the in house atmosphere, there's tables and chairs if you decide to not take out. Food experience/quality: It was similar on par with other poke places I found. The spicy was not as spicy as I personally like, but I'm the adventurous type where XXX at boiling crab is just about the right amount of spicy. My new favorite poke spot! High quality fish, great variety of toppings, and generous portions! This place is great for spicy lovers since they have so many spicy options! Spicy fish (spicy tuna AND spicy salmon), spicy crab salad, spicy sauces, and hot cheetos as a topping!!! Tip: they don't have the hot cheetos on display at the service counter so don't forget to ask for them! And if you don't like spicy, that fine since they have plenty of other options. They don't charge extra for seaweed salad or your first 2 slices of avocado, which is a huge plus. Their fish is also very fresh and they are generous with the scoops. The only cons I can think of are that they don't take Apple Pay and up-charge items for online orders but those aren't a big deal. Would highly, highly recommend! read more

Have been really feeling poke lately and saw that this place has poke AND boba so I had to stop by. We were greeted immediately and the woman working was so nice and helpful since we weren't sure what we wanted. They have a good variety of sauces and toppings which I appreciate. They also have mac salad which most places don't, yum!!! You also get 2 slices of avocado for free! I got their mild sauce and topped it with spicy mayo. I also tried the chipotle sauce which was super yummy but doesn't really fit the vibe of the bowl. In the future, I'd like the spicy mayo mixed in instead of on top. This poke joint is great! Tucked away in a small plaza but easy to find. The lady helping us was super sweet. They serve very fresh fish here compared to other poke spots. Not the best poke out there, but still good and definitely worth the price. Lowest price I've seen so far for the amount of food and quality. I got the regular bowl, which comes with three proteins for only $10.95. I asked for a base of half brown rice and half greens. My choice of proteins were ahi tuna, yellow tail, and spicy tilapia. I went with spicy for the spicy level and topped the bowl with house spicy sauce and mango sauce. The toppings were pretty much unlimited. There were a few limitations, but understandable. For example, the first slice of avocado is free. The following will have an additional charge. That's pretty nice as most places charge for any avocado at all. Even seaweed salad here is a free topping. What the?! That's soooo nice of them. The girl who helped me was nice and very patient. I had a hard time choosing some of the items and she did not rush me at all. There was also no one else in line, so there's that. But yes, very patient. She helped describe the items and sauces they had. She asked questions to make sure I chose everything I wanted and ensure I didn't want to add or mix anything else. On the right I got Lion King Roll and it was burnt...like literally all I can taste was the flavor of something burning on the grill. The left was a little too fishy for me. Regular bowl w/ 3 portion of meat is $10.95 Kid bowl with 2 portion meat is $8.95 Musubi is $3.50 each The fish here are fairly fresh (not a hint of the sea), the topping portions were decent, and they let you do half/half of sushi rice, brown rice, or noodles. Downside is that I wish they would give a little more portion of rice/noodles. When I mixed the bowl for a bite, it wasn't a nice mouthful. Great service, fast and friendly staff. They have a clean dining area with about 6 tables that can seat 3-4 people. They also have a side table with those high chairs that seat two people. They have Reasonable priced sushi and poke bowls. They also serve Strong and chewy boba drinks! This is a great place to be.. We ordered a regular bowl with 3 proteins and they would guide you to any add ons you might want. I ordered rainbow sushi since I don't feel like eating a poke bowl and it was made really nice and fresh. We then ordered drinks with boba - apple,lychee green tee for me, winter milk tea for the hubs and tropical oolong for the kiddo. Milk tea was a little lacking in flavor, a bit too much ice for me, but not bad. Service: I've only seen the same lady at the front and man cooking in the back. Might be a family business, team of two. They are both super kind. Service is really fast. The place is very clean. Plenty of parkings. It's fast and quite good (and not too pricey, hooray!) I've come here for takeaway poke a few times, and they are open for takeaway (only) during these unfortunate times. The fish is fresh, the rice isn't hard and is seasoned nicely for sushi rice, and while there aren't as large of a selection of toppings as other places, they still have the basics (e.g. corn, seaweed salad, onions, ginger, all that good stuff)...and also 2 slices of avocado included as well! Their spicy sauce is also one that has more of a kick than many other places, so if you like fire, this is a good place to go. The portion size is a little smaller than similar places, but it is still a sizeable amount that will fill you up. Great to as a fast grab for lunch if you are working from home and don't have much of a break in between for lunch. Accepts credit cards, but not contactless. Decent amount of parking, but that's also because most businesses in the strip mall are closed for the moment. Still has the same posted hours until further notice. I always get a side of avocado, and most times the lady doesn't charge me extra, but the employees do haha. The baked roll was good and good portion. The best damn poke I've had outside of Hawaii! Came here on a Wednesday to have dinner with a friend. It was super empty so I was kind of scared that it was going to be bad, but it did not disappoint. Ordered the regular with a scoop of salmon, yellow tail and tuna with EVERYTHING ON IT!!! (except ginger) The sauces I used were the spicy mayo and unagi sweet sauce, along with furikake. It was such a hefty serving for dinner that I also ate the leftovers as lunch the next day. The service is also spectacular and they put together your bowl so carefully and nicely. At other Poke places they tend to just throw everything together as fast as they can so the sauces are all pooled up on one side -_-.
