    Age Tofu

What used to be a Pelicana, has been replaced by Poke Zone; a much better choice in my opinion. We grabbed a late lunch during the tail end of a nasty thunderstorm, so we had the place to ourselves. The space is bright, plenty of seating and a staff that's eager to please. The menu is large, but we didn't want to over do it. Shrimp Shumai was just ok, but the Age Tofu was amazing. Fantastic Roll and 2023 Roll were both good. Very fresh tasting. Since it was still raining, we split a Tonkatsu Ramen. We are both kind of RamenSnobs, and weren't expecting their's to as good as it was. We did a large sushi entree for takeout, a few weeks after our initial visit, and we ate every piece. Don't pass on the tea either. I enjoyed it, and I rarely drink tea.

Wow!!! Such a great neighborhood addition to Edgewater! We got take out twice from here already once for ourselves and once we got three party trays for an event we were hosting. We ordered the party trays a few days in advance, and everything went smoothly. Day of the food was delivered on time with exactly the amount of utensils and sauces we asked for the staff was really friendly and helpful when we were ordering, helping us to decide how much to order for the amount of people. The food itself was fresh and yummy. Definitely a few standouts- the toro, salmon avocado, spicy tuna, and tuna avocado were amazing! Some of the spicy rolls have crunch so be sure to specify if you want to remove that. The place itself is casual with a few tables if you prefer to dine in. We will be returning soon to try the poke bowls!

    2023 roll and fantastic roll

Just had a 3 course meal for 2 for like 60ish bucks--local, friendly, family owned, and tasty. Stopped in after getting drenched in a thunderstorm and was offered some hot tea. It was deliciously fragrant and built up my appetite. We started with the age' tofu and shrimp shumai. The shumai was nothing out of this world but I loved the fried tofu squares with the dipping sauce. Next, we ordered 2 special sushi rolls--fantastic roll and 2023 roll. VERY good. I still wasn't full so I ordered a tonkatsu ramen with pork belly. Our server thought I was going to share with my husband so she brought an extra bowl, haha! I gave him a bite and I enjoyed the rest. Our server made sure my teacup stayed full, very cool! I then ordered a lychee fruit juice with popping boba to-go and we headed off to run errands around town. There are about 4 table inside--it's a great quick little lunch spot or perfect for takeout.

New-ish spot in Edgewater! Picked up a to-go order and got a few rolls and the Fried Chicken Wings with Thai Chili sauce. The wings were not something I would order again however the rolls are. Specifically I got a Spicy Tuna Roll...a Philly Roll and an Alaskan Roll. All 3 were delish and full. I did ask for extra ginger and no wasabi (but there was wasabi in there so I took it out). I will be trying more items from there soon - not so sure about the apps but more rolls for sure. Glad they are in the neighborhood and looking forward to my next order.

Shrimp Tempura Appetizer, make your own Poke Bowl.

The Poke Zone in Edgewater is our favorite spot for sushi and sashimi . The sushi and sashimi are always fresh and delicious. The menu has a wide variety of soup, salads, sushi, sashimi,, maki and hand rolls, special rolls, poke bowls and make your own poke bowls. The staff are friendly and the service is quick. Prices are reasonable . If you're in the area you must try Poke Bowl.

It's a small, cute spot right next to Central Park, with a fun mural on the wall telling the legend of Crossing-Bridge Rice Noodles. Cozy and easy for a casual midday meal. Appetizers The rainbow dumplings were the visual highlight, five colors lined up on the plate with a nice chili dipping sauce. Fun to look at and solid, though more eye-catching than memorable on flavor. Mains We went with the dan dan-style noodles and the spicy ramen hot pot. The noodles came topped with peanuts, sesame, and scallions in a savory sauce, and the hot pot arrived bubbling with a rich red broth, egg, cabbage, and tofu. Both were pretty good and satisfying, but nothing quite jumped out, mostly because there are so many bold, flavorful ramen places nearby setting a high bar. Drinks Decent range on the menu, including non-carbonated options like Calpico, Wong Lo Kat, and Arctic Ocean orange soda alongside the usual teas and sodas. Service Fast and efficient. We were seated, served, and taken care of quickly with no wait. Verdict Four stars. A cute, convenient spot by the park with quick service and pretty good food. It doesn't stand out from the strong ramen competition in the area, but it's a solid, reliable choice for a casual lunch.

We only had to wait about 15 minutes before getting seated. They definitely get crowded though, so it's best to have a reservation! During "lunch" hours, the place is brightly light. Once "dinner" hours comes around, they set out candles on the tables and dim the lights for a different ambiance. The service was a bit off at first, since we waited a while to get our appetizers. This might have been due to the change in staff between lunch and dinner. The hostess noticed and checked on our appetizers, and got them right out. Afterwards, we had different waiter and he was very friendly and attentive. We did the Pick 3 appetizers: -Kyuri (cucumber): love the mix of flavors with the onions, vinegar and salt. The kyuri has a good bite to them -Kimchi Mushroom: the mushrooms also had a good bite to them. Not too spicy of a kimchi sauce, which I liked as it did bot overpower the mushrooms. -Shishito: I enjoyed the saltiness of the kelp with the char of the shishito. I went for the Tsukemen, which I loved at the Brooklyn location. This was just as good! The noodles had a good bite and the right thickness for the rich broth. I like the lemon on the side to help cut some of the richness. The egg is well marinated and perfectly jammy. The Hassaku Grapefruit Juice is a nice non alcoholic option. Very grapefruity and too sweet. We ended with the Tokyo Banana, which had a deliciously bruleed banana. They wrote Happy Birthday on the plate and had a little candle on the side. We only put it in the reservation, so it was nice of them to do. Overall, a great ramen spot to check out!

I got the Spicy Tan Tan Ramen because I love to have spice in mine, but wish I was able to adjust the spice level. It was definitely super creamy, thick, and filling. The noodles were soft, yet still chewy. For those who were afraid of getting the Spicy Tan but still wanted the spice, they suggested getting Classic Tonkotsu and having chili oil on the side to put in. I really debated which one I liked more!
