I had been craving sushi for awhile and chose to order something simple: a tuna maki roll and spicy salmon roll. The tuna maki roll was simple yet refreshing with the soy sauce and wasabi. Very good. However, I found myself favoring the spicy salmon roll more. I'm not sure how they do their rice, but this specific roll with the rice on the outside of the nori-- it made the rice so sticky and soft. Usually I find that rice with my sushi rolls have a noticeable grain texture. This rice was so smooth and soft it was absolutely delectable. I hadn't expected to finish off all 12 of the rolls. They were supposed to be part of my lunch for tomorrow! The price is about what you'd expect for the location. I was able to enjoy UberEats pickup and one of their very lovely offers for a student like me who often struggles with money but can't help but indulge from time to time. I cannot speak of the service or the ambiance inside as I did not dine in, but every time I pass by I always get the urge to visit. Sushi lunch sets are an excellent value, especially the sushi & sashimi combo. It's simple but fish quality is excellent and it's a really good amount. I've come here for lunch more than once now. It's a nice, small intimate neighborhood spot, not too loud which is very nice and service is great. I also tried their ramen a couple times but it was just average. We started with the salmon crispy rice which was delicious and probably the best I've had. Usually I go for tuna crispy rice but we wanted to try something different. For mains, my boyfriend had the chicken ramen, the broth was very rich. My bf liked all the ingredients in his ramen. I got the suram signature maki number four, which was a salmon avocado roll with spicy salmon, crunch, and tobiko on top. Very delicious and filling, you can tell that the ingredients are fresh. Their shrimp tempura roll was decent and so was the spicy crab roll spent $23 for it...Kani salad was ok but dry and not the best. Their chicken dumplings are ok as well. Kani salad had way too much mayo, yellowtail roll was bitter and I got a sad piece of white tuna nigiri that was small, dried out and cost $8.25 for the single piece (normally there would be two). Food is good but overpriced. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I really liked the salmon carpaccio. It melted in my mouth and the citrus with the truffle oil was a good combination. There is a single bathroom that was kept clean so that's good. And the food came out quick. The sesame cheese cake sounded good and different, it was pretty dense and it wasn't amazing but still good. They drizzled maraschino cherry juice over it which doesn't really go with black sesame. I made a reservation through google but apparently that doesn't do anything, I told the waiter and he said they don't take reservations. It wasn't too bust at 6:00 on a Friday night. It is a small place with about 10 tables. Downsides were the prices and the floor was very very slippery coming in. It was raining outside so it was soaking wet and I almost slipped and fell multiple times. Someone should mop the floor when it rains. read more

Nice quiet spot with good variety of options best for a quick meal with friends. Suram is relatively small which gives a nice neighborhood vibe. It also makes it easy to grab the attention of the waitstaff. The decor is warm with an emphasis on wooden panels and soft lighting. There is a good variety of food options including sushi a la carte, omakase, ramen and specialty sushi options. I was not particularly impressed by the quality of ingredients but the rolls were put together well. I most enjoyed the tuna and salmons crispy rice. The special roll "six" was also quite good. I would skip anything very simple because the sauces really help here. We did not enjoy the avocado crab rolls or the shishito peppers. Overall this neighborhood spot gets a soft 4 stars as a decent option for a bite with friends. I enjoyed the meal and the prices are very fair but I prefer sushi spots that emphasize ingredient quality. I may stop in again to try the ramen. read more

By the time it came out he was already done eating and was nibbling on some leftover avocado salad. The shishito peppers were huge and barely seasoned.. not sure what we were supposed to taste.. Stumbled across this place one day for dinner. The vibes are pretty cute and the inside is decorated nicely, however, the place is on the smaller side so it is not great for larger parties. I tried some two of their sushi rolls and it was good, but nothing special. Definitely a reliable go to place if you want some sushi or ramen, but it isn't a place that I would go out of my way to go to. This is a nice little spot in Lincoln Square. They serve sushi and ramen. I had ramen this visit. The ramen menu is a little limited with 4 options, and the only meat option is chicken. The portion size was generous. The broth didn't have much flavor but they provide chili oil on the side which helped. The noodles were cooked well. The service was very good and my water was never empty since they were always refilling it, which is helpful when you like your ramen spicy. They have some outdoor seating. Inside is a small space but very quaint and pleasant. There is also a sushi bar that you can sit and eat at. Overall, it didn't blow my socks off but if I'm craving ramen in the neighborhood again, I'd consider returning. read more

Cute new ramen and sushi place in a neighborhood that's often lacking in food options! I live nearby and have been watching the storefront for a few months now, so I was excited to finally try it when it opened this week. I walked by at 4:30pm and wasn't exactly hungry, but really wanted to try something, so I had the maguro avocado salad and a California roll. The salad was delicious - fresh and well seasoned - though portion is smallish for $14. I liked the California roll too, though I feel like those are pretty similar from one restaurant to the next. It's a small space (I counted a total of 16 bar seats) - probably better for small groups. Most of them face the open kitchen and the others face out the window. The menu has all manner of sushi options as well as a few ramen selections - all chicken or veggie broth (no pork). Service was quick and friendly. Suram is also cashless (just a heads up!). Overall a good experience and I'm really excited to come back and try more of the menu! read more

The numbers Two and Four were delicious signature rolls, the traditional salmon/avocado roll was simple perfection, and the sashimi melted in your mouth. Even though they are brand new, the meal and service was as if they had been open for months--everything was delicious and the service was so great. We ordered: edamame, crispy rice with spicy tuna, ramen, a piece of tuna sushi and a spicy tuna roll. The tuna was SO fresh across the board, and the crispy rice is one of my favorite dishes on the UWS. The ramen was really solid and I will definitely be ordering it again!
