I came back for round two. Still satisfied with everything. This is officially my favorite spot for poke in LA.

Pokestuf is my number one poke place to go to. I always order the same thing to go home to eat and it's always the best! Staff are friendly and quick. Place is nice and cozy to eat. I shared my order with my family and they love it!

Awesome and yumm! I got the poke and spam musubi. All of the ingredients are fresh and they are generous with their portion. I would definitely come back !

literally my go to poke place!! I love this place soooo muchhhhh. the soba noodles with the fish always hit and with the sauce . the fish is pretty fresh although there would be times where it would be a bit chewy or a lil fishy. I never had problems with the spicy tuna tho!

Located on a corner on Main Street, it might be easily missed. Pokestuf is the only Poke shop close by so I'm surprised that I never see it packed. We live in the neighborhood and had always wondered if it was any good. Lunch time last week presented the opportunity and we finally remembered Pokestuf was on our list of places to visit. Nice girls working the register and food prep. Only one other person was there so we were able to place our order right away. The typical choices from categories: pick your base, protein, sauces, toppings etc. I do with they have more options for protein. There were 3 fish available only. No shrimp or crab meat or scallops available. There is garlic shrimp available for an additional $2. There additional fees for adding seaweed salad. Free parking is available on the street or a parking lot behind the building. It was a little pricey for the portion size. Taste was okay. I was hoping to be wow'd and find our new regular poke spot. Sadly that was not the case.

spicy salmon, spicy mayo, ponzu, all the sides besides masago eggs, and it's half white rice &mixed greens.

I had to drench my food with Sriracha because it wasn't very good. They don't give a lot of fish. Friendly staff though.

The service was great, but the fish left a weird filmy residue on the rice, which turned me away from eating the fish at all.

    When are you guys reopening?

We have reopened as of this week.

I am literally heartbroken that this place closed. Any idea where they get their sauces or what was in them?

Pokestuf is not closed, we were just there on Tuesday, July 10, 2018.

Ordered several entrées, mostly sea food. Everything was cooked fresh and tasted great. My girlfriend specifically wanted me and her son to have the live spot prawns so she ordered 2 pounds for the table. They were good sized and we watched them being netted out of the tank. It doesn't get any fresher than that. Service wasn't fantastic, we had to wave down a server every time we needed something, like ordering drinks, our food, to go containers, and our check. That being said we certainly weren't bothered by a wait staff that constantly hovered making us feel rushed so while they could have been more attentive, it was still better than being overbearing. The restaurant is loud, no acoustic ceiling, walls are all either glass or mirrors and the flooring is hard, not carpet. Not unusual for a Chinese restaurant, but something to be aware of. I was a little surprised that there was a table with a Hispanic family dining there while we were eating. Normally I am the only non Asian at more traditional Asian restaurants. So that was, to me at least, unusual. Id return.

First, parking was so difficult!! So many cars crammed close to each other and the restaurant wasn't even full, but we parked in the street nearby. The place had plenty of seating when we arrived, spacious tables that fit our group of 16. We had a large party and split into two tables, each table had peanuts and tea, we also ordered our own bit with the same serve at the same time. We ordered our usual dishes such as corn soup, honey walnut shrimp, salt and pepper squid, sal and pepper pork chops, filet beef dish, hainan chicken and many more. The service seemed slow, the bad part is that our other table got all their dishes while we had none. It took a while before our first dish arrived which was honey walnut shrimp, it was good, a bit soggy but flavorful. We asked for rice and started eating, once most of the shrimp was gone the rest of the dishes came. They were delicious, they tasted great and had good portions. The pork chop was great fresh but soon started to get tough as it cooled. The fried squid had parts that were very seasoned and some bland. My sister in law ordered a seafood tofu dish that was the best one but we ate everything before I took a photo. We also shared dishes across the tables to try out our orders. I tried the fried crab but it had more garlic than crab! The restroom was the sad part, there was no toilet paper, and no paper towels. The women's restroom door was propped wide open as well. I had to call my sister to bring in napkins for me... Overall a great meal, we may come back if the occasion allows.

However, most of the items on the menu were not available.. strange. My aunts friend wanted to take us here specifically for the fried garlic crab. However, personally, I was not a fan because it's just too much work to break down the crab just for a little bit of meat. My favorite that night was probably the fried tofu. They definitely did that very well. We also got a lot of other dishes like the clay pot rice, chicken, clams, seafood crispy noodles, and other foods I can't remember. Overall, just okay for me. I don't think I would necessarily come back.

They have a lot of tables inside so it is great for small and large groups. The waiters were also fast even though they were busy. We ordered their Kung Pao Chicken, Fried Tofu, Beef Noodle, Shrimp w Walnut, and Vegetable w Garlic. We decided not to get lobster since it was pricey. They took our order pretty fast and gave tea to drink. The pot of white rice is extra $1 if you order though. And their menu book doesn't have prices for some reason. Only the to-go menu has prices. Food was served in a decent amount of time, around 15 minutes. And all dishes arrived close together so we didn't have to wait long. The kung pao chicken is so good! Not spicy at all and very nice and crispy with good seasoning. It tasted delicious with some rice. The beef noodles were also delicious! It had good wok taste and was very flavorful. The tofu and shrimp were also good. None of the dishes were too salty and all were seasoned well and in pretty big portions, though I don't remember the exact price since they took the receipt away when we paid. My family and I used to religiously eat lobster noodles whenever we made a trip down to SoCal. The pick of the bunch was 100% Newport Seafood- no negotiations, no contemplations. Unfortunately, the last handful of times have left me extremely disappointed and heavily annoyed. The cost and wait times do not reflect what is actually being provided and most of our food ends up being left behind because it simply isn't worth the calories. In all honestly, I've grown a phobia w/ that specific restaurant at this point because of the countless letdowns. My initial taste of Boston Lobster was about 3 years ago and I had the most enjoyable meal. Due to our LA trip coming to an end, my BD thought we should do it big with some lobster noodles- for good old time's sake. I absolutely refused to go anywhere unless we would be giving Boston Lobster a visit! Sure enough, they did not disappoint! Dinner for 3 adults and 1 toddler consisted of: *Boston House Special Lobster [no spice] + Garlic Noodles for an additional fee. Medium Size 5-6lbs minimally. *French Style Beef Cube *Sauteed Snow Pea Leaves We ate like mf'n KINGS!! Each and every dish was spectacular- even the greens! While we should have gone with the small sized lobster, I'm proud to say we went down with an honorable fight. Lmao!! The lobster was cooked to perfection- meat was sweet, succulent, and so darn tender. The garlic noodles soaked up all of the delicious lobster flavors and were not overcooked and mush. The bo luc lac was flavorful, juicy, and complimented the bed of lettuce, onions, & tomatoes so well. The snow pea leaves weren't tough and old- this truly was a simply yet magical dish. Service was on point and the staff continually came by to swap out our plates full of lobster shells. Above all, there was no wait with our initial arrival. Parking is easy given the fact that BL has a pretty big parking lot specifically for them. 5/5 stars!! We dropped over 3 bills here and it didn't even hurt. Lmao- this place is that damn good! Don't sleep on this joint, y'all. Boston Lobster is the real deal when it comes to authentic Chinese/Vietnamese cuisine. This spot should be so much more hyped than it actually is!
