    White Fish plate JAN2026
    Franklin M.

I received some more BOGO coupons to use for this restaurant. They have nine different combo plates I could choose from so I ordered the White Fish and a Pork combo plate. These combos come with salad, rice, and macaroni salad. While I sat inside enjoying my dinner I saw at least ten orders being picked up, indeed it's popular for dinner.

This location is located inside a plaza behind panera. Parking is somewhat simple, just have to walk a little. I came during lunch time, so it was a little busy. The staff was nice and friendly. I was hungry but not too hungry, so I asked if I could order the kids meal. Plus, they had a Lilo and Stitch bag that was part of the meal which was too cute not to have. They accepted, awesome! My meal came pretty fast because none of it was fried. My coworker had to wait a bit for theirs because it was fried. One thing I noticed was once a customer leaves, their table never got cleaned. We wanted to clean the table, but there weren't any napkins available without bothering the staff. They have two gender neutral restrooms that are handicap accessible.

I think this is one of the worst Ono's I've been to. I came to pick up my order and I showed the worker my phone, which I brightened and enlarged so they can see. He started touching my phone with his hands and I immediately get the ick. He goes your orders not ready yet. I tell him that I need to go to work soon and he just stares at me and turns away to the counter behind him with all the boxes of food. He gives out someone else's orders, and goes to the next and wow the order that was sitting up on the counter is actually mine. What are the chances if you read? He proceeds to give me my food in a dirty bag.

Ono is a family-owned, fast-casual restaurant that serves authentic Hawaiian plate meals and other island specialties. The company recently celebrated its 20th anniversary last year. There are over 100 locations across California, and they are looking to expand to Arizona in the near future. I had a craving for Hawaiian food and saw that this place was nearby. I received a friendly greeting from Monica when I arrived. She was so sweet and very personable. I selected the Fried Shrimp Combo. It came with Mac Salad, steamed rice, and steamed vegetables. I also got an order of Crab Rangoon and a diet coke. I rarely drink soda, but I have to say fountain soft drinks are so much better than bottled or canned. Monica and I had an enjoyable conversation while I waited for my food, which was ready in less than 10 minutes. Driving home was torture because my meal smelled so good. I wanted to pull over and take a bite but as Yelpers know - "Phone Eats First." The serving size of the combo plate was generous. Enough for two people or two meals. The shrimp was fantastic! Crispy outside - tender & juicy inside and tasted good dipped in the Katsu sauce. The steamed rice was moist and not dry at all. The veggies (broccoli & cabbage) were perfectly steamed. The rice and veggies went well with the Teriyaki Sauce. I'm not a macaroni salad fan but this Mac Salad was very tasty! The Crab Rangoon was also a winner. The wonton was crispy and cream cheese crab filling was delightful. It also tasted good dipped in the Katsu Sauce. Ono means delicious in Hawaiian, and I can honestly say that my meal was 'Ono loa and definitely satisfied my craving. *Catering available *Ample parking in the lot.

The food was perfectly cooked and the teriyaki was sweet but not overpowering. The katsu had a great texture and flavor. The service was relatively quick since it was empty. The staff was friendly and informative to our questions. The restaurant is decorated with the restaurants items and fits the ambience perfectly. I will definitely return again to this restaurant.

Yes yes and yes. Showed up and the staff was really nice and they looked up my name for the Yelp elite event. They helped me decide what to get because I'm so indecisive per usual, Christian helped me he was super nice and asked what I like or what I was craving. It was a plate combo with a drink and an extra side! And you know I got the extra side as the macaroni salad. They gifted me a little bag Which was super cute!

It was late but Ono was still open so we came here and ordered a spam musubi. The seaweed and rice were warm and tender. Spam had just a small hint of sauce. It was good. Place is relatively clean. Didn't have to wait in line. Free and easy to find parking in the parking lot. Would come back again.

Is it worth ordering a family meal vs 4 combo meals, trying to see what gives better value?

No! It's not a better value. If you check Ono's nutritional information, you'll see based on protein and calories, the ohana family meal is $7 higher than three à la carte…

For the price of food and the amount you get, I can't complain! The flavor of their own seafood boil sauce (boom sauce?) is a standard seafood boil flavor, it's legit. The flavors don't overwhelm you and make you wanna go to the toilet right away, you know what I mean? The family pack comes with 3 corn on the cob, 3 sausage pieces and 3 potatoes (like a medium sized potato!) it was good but I wish the seafood had time to sit in the sauce, you can tell the food was dumped on the sauce. We had to fight to scoop some sauce onto our mussels cause the bag was so full of food- what a good problem to have. Maybe the sauce is a bit thin? Maybe that's why it didn't stick to the food? Service was good, the ladies were attentive and professional. The decor looked like this place was known to be a bar- I mean there's a huge bar to the side. There's even a second floor but no one was seated there so it doesn't look used. Cute decor with the sea theme. Not happy about their toilet in the women's restroom. There's a a sign saying to please not dispose the toilet seat covers in the toilet cause it could clog it up. I was being a nice person and went to the trouble of respecting their wishes. It was gross as I was being careful not to touch the peed parts of the toilet seat cover. Don't judge me, only God can judge me! Come here to feed your family and friends at a very reasonable price! And if you're a lady you're gonna have to hover while you pee if you don't want to deal with the toilet seat cover disposal issue...

The portions are actually quite massive for each dish. All of it was very solid and tasty Chinese food. We were definitely very stuffed after this lunch was over! Service here is solid enough for a Chinese place. They were pretty quick with getting us extra plates to change out our dirty plates and more bowls as needed. And they were quick with the water. But yeah, you do have to flag them down to get their attention. They do have a parking lot here, and we got here early enough on a Sunday where parking wasn't an issue. It is considered…read moreto be one of the best destinations for fresh seafood, with the accent on Chinese cuisine. What has shunned me from this place, is the distance and the traffic, from the SFV. Finally, I made the journey. And arrived for lunch, on a weekday. To come here and not order their iconic Signature dish, the House Special Newport Style Lobster, would be a sin. Imagine a trip that was almost 40 miles and an hour of traffic (one way), with no reward. It was time to experience the real thing. The signature dish. Walking in solo, I was given a booth. I liked that. On seating, I ordered a beverage to quench my thirst, catch my bearings and breath. Almost immediately, the servers kept bugging me to order. The place was barely 1/4th occupied. Whats the hurry. After all this, I had to repeatedly tell them, that i had already spoken with a server, regarding my order. Just wanted to relax first, catch my breath, sip my beverage. Coming here, I was aware that their tank lobsters would be in the 4-6 pound range. Good for, and ordered by, at least 3-4 people. So when I, as a solo diner, ordered a 4-pound lobster (with no other choice), just for myself, they began to leave me alone and give me more respect. The cut up wok prepared, House Special Newport Style Lobster, arrives wonderfully presented, with heaps of leeks, scallions and jalapenos. My kind of recipe. Truly unique and exceptional. There is no sauce, and only a mild flavor, yet tasty. My biggest concern here was (after reading numerous internet reviews), that the lobster would be rubbery and dry. Not so for me. I lucked out. Problem here is, while there is lots of meat (a 4 pound lobster will yield at the most, about a pound of meat), they do not have, or provide, the essential lobster cutlery, to do justice to this beautiful crustacean. I did ask though. They did not seem to care and told me to use my fork. LOL. Steamed rice is complimentary. So is a soup, with sweet and sour, being the only choice (I did not like this). Either way, my plan was to take leftovers (there was a lot), home, where I possess high class lobster cracking tools. And thank heavens I did. They were most useful, to crack and dig into all the lobster meat, that would have been inaccessible at the restaurant. With additional TLC, the leftovers held up well, to provide several additional lobster meals. Need to go back to try their enticing and reasonably priced variety of lunch specials (more seafood, choices minus lobster). Another sought after box on my list, is now checked.
