Maybe it was a mistake on my end to order ramen from a poke restaurant, but I took a chance based on the good rating on yelp. I ordered the Tantan Ramen which is supposed to have a spicy pork broth. 2/5 - was a pretty bland and weird tasting broth at the same time. I'm not sure i can even describe it, but it's just not good tasting at all. Lacked any depth and luckily it was edible that I could finish the noodles, but dumped out the soup. I'm pretty pleasantly surprised!! I've been scared to try poke in NY because my standards are pretty high for it but this place was better than I expected. Very solid portion size to build your own bowl for a good price. I have had better tasting fish/combinations of ingredients but this definitely fills the craving. Tasty poké with lots of options. Besides the usual raw fish, they also have cooked beef and eel. There are some unique add ins such as lotus chips and tamago. They also have hot pot options. Another Poke bar opens in Astoria! One of the recent spat of poke bars in Astoria. I visited here in the Spring and found a good variety of options, including chicken, shrimp, and scallions. We ordered to go, there's a kiosk where you can place your order and pay. PROS: - a lot of avocado - numbered sauces, which was nice, and able to differentiate easily - short wait CONS: - very loose lids, rest of packaging ok - portion size ok/relatively small - skimped some toppings We ordered the 2 protein bowls. I ordered the tuna & salmon and my bf ordered the onion beef and chicken. We walked for only a few minutes, before I noticed the lids were popping off of the bowls, and not tightly secured. When I got back, I tried adding some sauce and shaking the bowl to mix it up only to spill out because it's too loose. There seemed to very little pieces of wonton crisps and mango pieces that I could finish in like 2 bites. Lemon slice was literally 1 lemon slice. Toppings were definitely uneven portions, some less than others. Other than that, the food was ok. I liked that the sauce was numbered so I was able to add what I want and try what I want. read more

Heard great things from friends about this place so I decided to give it a try. I was really excited because they have mango as a topping, which is my favorite. You can tell they put effort into the restaurant with the mascot and branded box, bags, etc... it felt like I was walking into someone's passion project which is something I love when I walk into shops or restaurants. The rice was really fresh, the toppings delicious and also fresh, and overall delicious choices for poke. I do wish they had seared salmon to complement seared tuna, but overall it's an absolutely great experience. Wanted to try this new place because I am a big fan of poke bowls. It's a big place with a few tables, just a bit too silent (especially when it's empty). People working there seem kind and nice. The food was good, I got the tuna and salmon bowl and it was pretty tasty. I also had a rice ball with salmon and the salmon piece was huge, but I feel like it could have used some more taste (any sauce maybe?) Overall pretty nice and I'll definitely go back. read more

I live in the neighborhood and had my eyes on when this place would open. I am so happy to have a poke place close by!! I believe my previous poke spot place changed ownership and something unfortunately changed and not for the better. For months I've been in the market for a new poke spot and let me just tell you Piki Poke did not disappoint. The place itself is very clean and modern. I believe you order from the computer upfront, but staff is more than willing to help. I had a little difficulties ordering the first time, and they were very kind in assisting me. For the future, I will order online pick up just because there only one computer and it gives me anxiety holding up a line. It's nice they offer an online pick option. For my actual bowl, I created my own and let me tell you the toppings were very generous. Honestly, this place might be the fullest bowl I've ever had. The ingredients were fresh and I was very satisfied with my meal without feeling weighted down. Will 100% be back and so happy they opened a poke place in the neighborhood. read more

FINALLY a Poké and acai place on Broadway!! They give you SO MUCH food compared to other poke places. I love how there are so many topping options for the poke and açaí bowls. Pretty good take out place. So far I had their Hawaiian poke bowl and their rice balls. I like their ahi tuna but I don't know why I'm not a fan of the shrimp. I just feel it's lacking flavor so I wouldn't buy it again. Service was pretty fast but parking is a nightmare so be mindful of that. read more

.The food was delicious, but the staff working the evening shift today (staff wear orange hat ) was impolite. While I and other customers were waiting to place our orders, the staff handled the stainless steel dishes very loudly. They threw plates into the dish bin while preparing orders, as if they had no interest in working in customer service. I believe they should consider finding another job instead. It was a terrible experience. That's why I decided not to leave a tip. read more

To be honest, initially we thought we were being rushed because the server came by repeatedly to remove empty plates and the wrappers from our chopsticks - but we quickly realized that this was really extremely attentive and great service. Throughout the meal, our water glasses were refilled numerous times and we were not rushed at all. After our leisurely meal, we ordered a Green Tea Mille Crepe and an order of fresh fruit. The crepe was very good, although the topping of green tea was a bit thick for us and we scraped it off and ate the rest. The fruit was fresh and delicious. We truly felt very welcomed and valued as customers here. We didn't drink anything other than water, so our bill was only about $100 (before tip) for the 2 hours we were there, but even as we left we felt valued by the serving staff and sushi chefs. The omurice was fun to try and the curry sauce was as suitable as their demi glace for it. I wasn't enthused about the bland fried rice for the omurice, though. The popcorn chicken was nice and juicy and stayed that way for the entire meal, which was pleasantly surprising. The pork and chicken yakitori were nice and juicy whereas the beef skirt was overcooked. The braised pork don was on the sweet side but was fine for what it was. The matcha pudding's consistency was closer to a custard than a pudding, but the cream complemented it and the tiny bit of red bean juice actually enhanced the pudding, which would not have been as enjoyable on its own. I doubt I will return, but I wish them well and hope they continue to improve.

The fish selection looks fresh but they do have some previously frozen seafood like large prawns and lobster tails. They have the names of everything and the price per pound posted which can be a little intimidating because it's a bit expensive. We ordered a grilled branzino and asked for the large tiger shrimp. The staff behind the counter said it would be the ones without the head but when long at the sign, it said head on tiger shrimp so I was a little confused but we just went with it because we assumed the staff knew what they were talking about. We did also get the head-on large prawns. We asked for everything to be grilled and confirmed that they don't use butter or cheese or cream on anything and then we went upstairs to get a table. Upstairs by the window is nice because you can people watch on a good day. We asked the staff member if there were any butter or cream or cheese in the mezza or rice and she said no, so we proceeded to order those and also asked about the soup of the day. She told us it was a shrimp and corn soup and that sounded good so we ordered that as well. The mezza came and the babaganoush and moussaka were good. The lemon potatos were fine but other places have made it better. The tahini was tahini and nothing special. The soup came and we took a sip and it tasted like cream so we were confused because the staff member didn't mention cream when she was taking about it. We asked about it when another staff member came by to drop off the rice. The original staff member who helped us came back over and we asked her if there was cream in the soup. She told us that yes because it's a chowder and the chowder has dairy and told us that we ordered the soup. I'm not denying that we ordered it. My issue is that we specifically asked about avoiding dairy in other food menu items and she didn't even stop to mention that hey the soup of the day that you want is a shrimp and corn chowder and has dairy. She took it back but I felt like we were inconveniencing her because of her tone. The mains arrived shortly after. The head-on prawns came and then the branzino. The large head-on prawns were overcooked and a little rubbery. The branzino was a touch too lemony but that was probably my fault for squeezing lemon over it. The fish was firm and smooth. There wasn't a lot of flavor on either dish. By this time, our table is pretty full and one of the staff members came by with the tiger shrimp and he more or less just stared at the full table and then plopped the plate down right next to my husband's phone. We barely even had time to move plates around to clean up space for him, but I feel like they should have definitely looked a little harder because one of our plates was just full of bones and shells and could have been taken away which would have made room for the shrimp. They were also over cooked and rubbery. Throughout our meal, no one came to check on us once. At the end of the meal, I used my own hand sanitizing wipes and was a little puzzled that they don't give any to customers. We got the bill and were a little peeved that they charged us $3 to butterfly the branzino. We weren't told about that and we didn't particularly ask for them to butterfly it. There's individual hand wipes by the stairs and it's odd that staff don't bring them to you once you're ready to pay. Are customers expected to walk around with dirty hands to go grab the wipe by the stairs? It's definitely a one time experience and overall, I wouldn't recommend it for the poor service and seafood being overcooked and underwhelming.
