Wow did I hire a moving company? Because this place sure knows how to Pack. That. Food. In. My ingredients in the bowl looked like a little hill and I wasn't sure if the lid would fit, but she worked her magic! The woman who helped me did a great job. They are sooo generous with their toppings and fish that I felt like it was a good value. She was also really nice about me changing my mind, even though I know that can be super annoying to some service workers. I originally asked her for all the toppings, but then a few seconds later I said wait, no jalapenos. The only two small negatives for me - you have to pay for crab salad, when almost all places give it for free. (However, they offer mango so that's a nice substitute. But in my opinion, poke /needs/ to have crab salad in it). The second negative- when I first walked in, there was such a strong bleach smell that I almost walked right back out the door. I was in the area for work and was craving poke.... found this place on yelp and ordered a Regular bowl (comes with 3 scoops of protein) with 2 salmon and 1 spicy tuna. I opted for brown rice, masago +0.50$, and almost all of the toppings except for the crab which would be +$1.00. I asked for the house special sauce on the side and had a nice balanced flavor - also chose cilantro aioli + sriracha mayo on the side. I really liked that they pack on all your fixings so your bowl comes out super heavy which I looove. I asked for 2 scoops of salmon but it really felt like I only had one (probably because of not enough space) but I really enjoyed the large portion of spicy tuna, as were the rest of my toppings. I ordered through Yelp and my food arrived in less than 15 minutes!! Love that. They give you utensils and plenty of napkins as well. I've been here for quite a long time. It's my go-to poke place. I got the Regular bowl with brown rice, all salmon, cucumber, sweet sesame (sauce), edamame, crab salad ($1 extra but worth it), seaweed salad, unagi sauce, and furikake. Also, get the Spam Masubi ($2.50 but also worth it) This is why I love this place so much!! The staff, there are really attentive and very friendly. They also give large portions and I like that. I like that they have the menu and it shows you what the steps are. I like how it's a build-your-own poke bowl instead of it being premade. The menu order is from right to left. Try it out! I tagged along with my boyfriend to Poki Poke, which was my first time at a poke spot, and I was pretty impressed. Poki Poke is located in a plaza nearby Ranch 99, Pho Saigon 2, and Bing's Dumpling. The restaurant is clean and spacious with a good amount of seating. Since it was my first time at a poke spot, I was overwhelmed by all of the ingredients and options to the point where I decided to just share with my boyfriend. We got the Regular with Brown Rice, Tuna and Salmon with Cucumber. Topped it off with Edamame, Corn, Masago, Seaweed Salad, Furikake, and Mango Aoli Sauce. Everything was fresh, tasted good, and the sauce went well with what we chose. I appreciate how generous the staff was with the toppings, too. I prefer my salmon pieces cut a little bigger than how it was done here. The fish portions also felt small since I had a bunch of rice leftover at the end, so the protein to rice ratio was a bit off. Though that could be due to the fact that I barely got any toppings along with my order, but that doesn't normally happen at other poke places I've been to. Sauces weren't as flavorful and spicy as I'd like, and also wish they had nori strips as a topping option. For the amount you get, the price is a bit steep. I should've known that my fellow Yelpers wouldn't have let me down with this four star rated restaurant! Food bar? Whatever you'd call this place. My only regret is having waited so long to get a bowl of poke from here! I wasn't feeling too hungry last night, but knew that I needed to eat dinner. As per my Friday night ritual, I opened Yelp to see what my dinner options were. It's not as if there are a bunch of restaurants coming and going from this suburb, but old habits die hard. I realized that I had bookmarked this place a while ago and it was close by. I decided to go after the dinner rush had died down and got there slightly before closing, at 8:30. When I walked in, there were two people obviously cleaning up. I walked in and one of the guys working there was walking out from the kitchen and greeted me. We went down the line for me to pick what I wanted in my poke bowl. You can start with your type of rice (brown or sushi), mixed greens if you're going low carb or want to keep it light, or half and half. The difference between a regular and a large bowl are the numbers of scoops of protein (three vs four). I got two scoops of ahi tuna and one of salmon. Other protein options were hamachi, shrimp, or octopus. Next are the optional cucumber and/or onions. This gets tossed in the house special sauce, ponzu, or sweet sesame sauce. Add ons include a long list- you can opt for everything as well. There's edamame (beans), mango, corn, seaweed salad, fried onion, fried garlic, furikake, wonton chips, serrano peppers, wasabi, and ginger. They charge extra for avocado or imitation crab meat but they seem to be small helpings and aren't worth it. I got everything except the peppers and wasabi, ginger on the side. Oh- almost forgot, they do offer to top your bowl off with spicy mayo, miso dressing, cilantro or mango aioli. I got a bit of spicy mayo drizzled on top. It was perfect because there's so many flavors and you don't want them to get lost. I was pleasantly surprised that the rice was really seasoned sushi rice. I used to like going to the conveyor belt sushi restaurant (zensen) that isn't too far from here. But the prices have gone up, and the quality down. This is a much better alternative for not nearly as much money. Lastly, I eat a lot and the regular sized bowl left me stuffed. I barely finished the bowl with some rice leftover as I picked at the fish towards the end. I'll have to go back some time to try the hamachi with everything and the mixed greens as the base as well! read more

Probably one of the best poke places I've eaten here around the city. The service and poke was great. You order step by step and have a menu on the wall that makes it easy. I got a large ($12) with half mixed greens and sushi rice. Comes with 4 scoops of your choice which I got spicy tuna and salmon. I for the toppings I got everything except avocado. Crab and avocado is a extra $1. Also if you want it extra spicy is another extra $1. They have multiple sauces you can choose from as well. Total for mine was 14 dollars which was well worth it. Their not stingy with their servings either not like other places which was awesome. They packed it so much that the server was having a hard time closing it. It was so beautiful to watch. One of the best Poke bowls you can get in all of Fremont! Not only is their fish super fresh, but their sauces are very tasty and the price is pretty good considering all of the free toppings you can get. My girlfriend and I tried this place and wow what a pleasant surprise this was for both of us. It's just like any other place where you start with a bowl of either rice or salad or both. Then they mix 3-4 scoops of protein of your choice (shrimp, spicy tuna, salmon, hamachi, octopus, ahi tuna, or tofu) with some of their signature sauces. And lastly, they load it up with as many toppings as you want. Since I am allergic to most fish, I just stick to shrimp and crab, but I load mine up with edamame, ginger, mango, corn, green onion, seaweed salad, cucumber, furikake, fried garlic/onion and wonton chips for that awesome crunch. And yes, all of those items are FREE! A loaded regular bowl with all the fixins' is less than $11 after tax which is super worth it! If you're pretty hungry but don't want to feel too guilty afterwards I'd highly recommend this spot since the serving size is great and the variety of free toppings is much more than other places around here. I came here right when they opened today after not visiting Poki Poke for awhile. I frequented for the spam musubi, but chose to get bowls elsewhere. I don't know why, but everything about the bowl tasted so off. I decided to get spicy tuna and salmon and octopus, since those are the fishes I started to get now. However, the octopus was so seemingly thinly cut I got about a few pieces in my bowl. Salmon portion was super small. Spicy tuna was the only thing that was an okay size, but it didn't taste good. I asked for spicy mayo like I usually do for the sauce, and topped with spicy mayo and unagi. Toppings were okay. Don't know why the whole bowl tasted differently than before. The only thing I enjoyed were the wonton chips, but with the lack of fish in my bowl it seemed like the huge chunks of mango overcame the bowl and made it a "mango bowl". Ambiance of the place is a bit stale, but all good the food is solid for a fast food type place. You pick small or large bowl. The bowl size is the same, small is 3 small scoops of fish ($10), while the large is 4 ($12). They have a range of fishes - hamachi, tuna, salmon, shrimp, octopus to spicy varietals as well. The hamachi was a bit too fishy for me, but the ahi and salmon were on point. Load up on the add-ons and sauces. I opted for wasabi, ginger, onions, cukes, serrano, avocado (for an extra $1), edamame and the miso dressing and it was a ton of food and really good. Overall a fast and casual lunch that totally filled all my post Hawaii poke cravings. Does it make you feel like you're back in Maui? Located along Fremont Blvd., and in the same plaza as the 99 Ranch Market is Poki Poke, yet another poki place that's been poppin' up all over recently. I chose this place because it's fairly new and the reviews made it seem like a good choice! Inside, it's very bright and clean-feeling. When we entered, the place was empty except for maybe one person. Woot! ~ no line. I ordered: Large w sushi rice (4 protein) Salmon All free toppings except for mango, edamame, and corn Both premium toppings (avocado and crab for $1 each) My total came to a little over $15, but it's reasonable since the portion is BIG. The bowl they use is like the kind you'd find used for a medium sized salad. And they pile it on! They are not skimpy at all with the toppings. I can usually finish a large at Poki Bowl easy; I couldn't with the bowl I got here! Taste-wise, the fish is alright, and I really enjoy the fried garlic&onions as well as the wonton chips! The cilantro aioli went really well with the fish/rice. Will maybe come back, since they are also located right next to a milk tea spot. Difference between Sunfish and Poki Poke: - different portion sizes available at PP - protein scoops are bigger at PP - there is another layer of sauces at PP. you start with an initial sauce on your fish- spicy soy, ponzu, sesame, etc-and then at the end, you can put an additional sauce- mango chipotle, cilantro sauce, etc. - PP charges for avocado and crab salad while SF only charges for avocado - PP has wonton chips hehe Those are my initial comparisons as I got my bowl. The portion sizes on these bad boys are huge regardless if you get regular or large in my opinion, which is a great deal! I love the 2 sauce options because that's how I make poke. I have the fish in a different marinade until I add Sriracha/mayo or something else fancy. Service is friendly and helps you through the process if you haven't done it before.
