    Regular Bowl
    Jackie X.

Came here with my partner during our lunch hour on a Monday. There was plenty of parking as it's in a large plaza with numerous other businesses. The inside is small, with about 4 2-person tables. The ambiance is bright and inviting. One of the employees greeted us immediately. Both employees who ended up helping us were very friendly. I decided to get a regular bowl. I tried their new Trinity tuna and decided to get it because it was delicious. For the base, I got their cilantro rice. I got spicy crab mix, spicy soy sauce, corn, edamame, cucumber, green onions, seaweed salad, crispy onions, crispy garlic, nori, sesame seeds, wasabi cream, and spicy mayo. It was a great size bowl and worth the price. Something to note is that unlike other poke spots, the toppings are not unlimited and are capped depending on the size of bowl you order. But all the ingredients were extremely fresh and everything tasted great. I was able to finish the whole bowl but I did slow down at the end. Will definitely be back to get the same exact bowl too!

I cannot tell you how fast I demolished this spicy Cheeto burrito! The owner is so friendly he helped me figure out exactly what to order with my gluten allergy! The ingredients were fresh, mouthwatering and the jalapeño cream cheese on the side was perfect to dip the burrito in. I don't live in the area but I'm driving back asap to get another one. The order: Spicy Cheeto Burrito with white rice, salmon, spicy tuna, avocado, cilantro, edamame, red onion, ginger, furikake, spicy mayo inside and jalapeño cream cheese on the side. 100% recommend!!

Nope. Not it. Heavy handed with the sauces. I can't really speak on the freshness of the establishment because I continued with my purchase, against my better judgment. The place seems fast-foodie and not the "fresh poke-style" you'd expect. We're in SoCal, do better. We ordered a large and it was so saucy! Without adding anything extra. Very tart and the rice was hard. Super disappointing. Leaving behind more than half a plate sucks!

Phenomenal Poke! This joint shares parking with other businesses but finding a spot was pretty manageable around lunch time on a Friday. There was practically no one here so I was in and out with regular bowl within 5 minutes or so! There are some tables inside and none outside. The staff seemed real chill, informative and quick! I liked all the ingredients Pokitomik offers. I try to get as creative as possible and have a good blend of citrus, sesame, umami, spicy, crunchy, and creamy. Some of my favorite components were the masago, furikake, spicy mayo, and it's unique hot Cheetos crumbs. The portion size is pretty generous.

Pretty good, like fast food poke in a burrito. Online order once was missing the main protein, other than that not bad

I liked her so much that I was really contemplating what amount of stars to give because I feel like when you meet someone nice who works at an establishment, I try really hard to give a good amount of stars... but then the more I thought about it, I really don't want to be misleading. There can be nice people who work at establishments and that still doesn't mean it will be enough to keep you coming back. That's where I finally fell when assessing how many stars to give. I can't give more then two. 5 stars for the friendly employee but 2 stars for the atmosphere, price, and meal. Found Honeyfish by accident as I was ordering some boba teas next door. I love poke so was excited to grab a bite to eat here. From the outside it looked like a typical poke restaurant but as soon as I opened the door I felt confused. It was relatively dark inside. Not warm and inviting but rather looked like a shop closing up for the day. Had it not been for the friendly women sitting behind the counter who greeted me I probably would have turned around. This establishment is still operating like many did during the pandemic, all of the tables were pushed in front of the poke counter and off to the side of the restaurant with no chairs. I wish the signage outside was more clear that it was "to go only" or else I wouldn't have stopped in here. I had to travel about an hour back to my office and wasn't planning on hauling poke that long but couldn't turn around to leave. I saw other reviews that are disappointed that you can't eat there and/or at minimum that they aren't putting tables outside or just a few tables socially distanced inside. I had the same issue upon seeing that they serve ramen here. It may just be me but I feel like both poke and ramen are dishes that taste best when eaten fresh, in the moment, not shlepped around town. Opted that the ramen would be a no go and went with the poke. The menu was straightforward but I was surprised at the prices. The prices seemed high in comparison to my regular poke joints. I opted for a regular poke bowl which after tax ran me $20! The regular bowl here is about a small at my normal spot but costing me the price of a large. The ratios of the fish were smaller then I expected for the hefty price. The women was sweet and we talked about expenses of product (not that I complained but we were just chatting about business) which I guess was her way of justifying the prices for smaller portions as others had clearly complained in the past. I didn't say anything and remained polite. What did bum me out is that even with the small portions of fish I felt skimped In every category. Avocado is $1 more, seaweed salad $1 more etc etc. Even the "regular" veggies toppings I was told I could "only pick two." What business model is this? I have never been to a poke spot were there was a limit on regular filler items. And if there had to be a limit maybe I could understand but for $20 how are you telling me aside from the rice, fish, and sauce I can only pick two things? So strange. I went with fried onion and cucumber, leaving out my other 5 ingredients I would normally be able to get elsewhere. Also, you don't get the traditional poke building experience here. Despite there being a counter where the ingredients are normally held, the woman had to go to the back and bring items out to make my bowl. I found that a little peculiar. I guess on a positive note she cut the cucumber and avocado for my bowl Fresh. That's definitely a plus BUT it's a little more time consuming so you do have to wait, and like other reviews noted - If there is more then one customer then you could end up waiting awhile for items being prepped and cut. At least it gives the Appeal of "freshness." Plus the woman took clear pride in crafting your poke bowl which was nice. She was a doll and I wish I liked the overall theme of Honeyfish more to come back but good service isn't enough. The atmosphere isn't welcoming and the prices aren't reasonable in comparison to other competitors nearby. Lastly, how was the poke you ask? Mediocre. It was fine. I ate it but didn't thoroughly enjoy it. And of course as I was 75% done I finally hit a piece of salmon with some bone accidentally left in it. I've never had that happen at my local poke spots and this sealed the deal for me. Hopefully the owner is receptive to feedback as I read a lot of the same complaints after the fact. When you have a lot of people making the same critiques I would imagine it's worth a listen. I wish I would have checked this spot out on Yelp before going. Seems like pre pandemic reviews were good but lately not so much.

The ambience is simple but clean. We ate there and could easily have a conversation. They provide iced water in a dispenser. Bathroom was clean. I'd been wanting to go back and take Dear Hubby to enjoy this very special re-imagining of the previous space, which had been an Irish pub incarnation. When our sister-in-law and two nieces were in town, the five of us were able to spend a quick evening together at Selvin's. We had been working on a project at our house, and by the time we got finished and ready to go out there wasn't a lot of time left as we went on a weeknight and they close at 9:00. I'm surprised that having a full bar, and being attached to a hotel property, that they would hang it up so early - even 9:30 or 10:00 would make more sense. It's such a charming place; seems a shame to have to call it a night so early. The ambiance is absolutely divine, especially out here in suburbia. It's very innovative in its layout. The lighting was carefully planned and is very effective in creating a special mood. And, what can be said about the wall of roses? It's tailor-made for snapping fun photos, that's for sure. The chef is sending out creative and Dee-Licious dishes from the kitchen. Yes, I know how to spell delicious, but it is worth adding the accented flair to stating the fact that this is a cut above many other dining establishments in the Conejo Valley. Dear Hubby and I shared Pappardelle Pasta and a Tuna Tartare appetizer. Both were excellent. One of our nieces ordered the taco platter. Wait till you see the photo. The only thing that was disappointing, menu-wise, was that bread wasn't included, so we ordered some as a side. Two little slices. I've forgotten the price, but I recall that it turned into sticker shock when we saw what was served. I'm tickled that they offer a nice array of zero proof cocktail options. They aren't inexpensive - apparently spirits without alcohol aren't any less (or maybe only slightly less?) than the full-spirited options. Still, it's nice to have the option. Our out of town family members LOVED Selvin's; it was a big hit with all of us. As an added bonus, there was a guitarist playing beautiful acoustic music when we arrived and were seated in the lounge area. Major extra credit!

It's the perfectly curated trio - Dirty Martini, followed by a well dressed crisp Cesar salad, and perfectly hot Truffle French fries. That's girl dinner in a nutshell (trust us on this combo). On their speciality menu it's called "Martinis and Munchies for Two" for $49. An amazing deal split between two friends. Dirty Martini: Some of the best ice cold martinis on this side of town. These cocktails were crafted to perfection and were always a sucker for the blue cheese stuffed olives. Tossed Cesar Salad: A Cesar salad during these hot summer months always hits the spot. Crisp, cold and fresh. The dressing was solid but I must highlight the lightly scattered capers on this salad - so smart and so tasty! Truffle French Fries: After a few martinis these French fries come in clutch. Crispy, hot and perfectly salted - who doesn't love a French fry and an aioli with a kick. Honorable Mention: PASTA. I was very impressed with my pasta dish here. Ordered the pappardelle bolognese and this pasta was a 10/10. Perfectly cooked ribbons of pasta with a hearty meat sauce and the Stracciatella topping sealed the deal for me on this pasta. We had a fabulous girls dinner from start to finish. The ambience at Selvin's is truly magical and we just love the decor and bar area. We had a cozy little booth to ourselves and the service was top-notch from start to finish. Extra kudos to Claudia for being a bubbly, lovely girls girl who was super attentive to us during our meal and made the night A+. Can't wait to come back soon.
