To whom it may concern, I am writing to let you know what my experience was at this location... I have never been to any other location. Tonight was my first time alone with my family just to try it. 1st: as we pulled up there was at least 4 to five cars waiting and one pulled out of line and left 2nd: We waited more then 15 min to order, 3rd: As we pulled up to order noticed that the prices were pretty high... I had heard that the empanadas were a must try and noticed that the menu said home made everyday so placed the order alone with Fried plantains and an order of fries. 4th: As we approached the window the girls only was speaking to me Spanish until she realized that I spoke to her in English she asked if I wanted my receipt I responded with a yes she handed me my bag, I asked if that was all of my order in the bag she said yes. 5th: I get home to eat and the empanadas were broken in the box the fries were completely over cooked and 6th: I Didn't even get my order of plantains in the bag at all. 7th : I went to call them and the receipt doesn't even have a phone number on it!!!... I looked it up and they just have closed. So very unhappy with this place and have no interest in ever going back due to my first experience... I would never recommend it to anyone. So my wife and I really enjoy pollo campero and have had it many times, but this new location was very disappointing. We found a bunch of little hairs in our chicken and that definitely ruined the meal for us. We've seen other reviews on here as well that had the same complaint. We got a chicken sandwich meal and a 2 piece chicken meal. The chicken sandwich was great and no issues with it. Fries and fried plantains were good too. Once we started eating the chicken I found one hair (like an inch long). It happens and I thought gross but not a huge deal. As I pulled apart more of the chicken I found 2 more similar pieces of hair. At that point it was inedible and we threw both pieces out. Definitely wouldn't recommend this location and I probably won't eat any pollo campero for a long time. read more

This was my first time trying pollo campero. My boyfriend swears by it he said it was amazing so I thought I'd try it but unfortunately my food came with a hair I was very disappointed because I didn't find out until I got home and I live in Hawthorne so I didn't want to drive back. This is based in service, food was good. We have a monthly lunch for staff of 140 and every month we get a different spot. We decided to go with you based on staff recommendations. Food was ordered online and picked up. Order was wrong, when I called and advised we had the wrong sides the girl was adamant we were wrong. She kept saying we gave you 8 containers which was correct 8 containers with the wrong sides. Took everything back and at the store she was still combative as we are showing her the receipt and the items. She rectified the issue with a really bad attitude the whole time. It's a mistake ans it happens but own it. We spent alot of money for the lunch, we would of asked for a refund and leave the food if we had another option, but we're short on time. At no point did she apologize or admit it was an honest mistake. We inconvenienced her. We order from Pollo inka a few times a year and they are always friendly, just go there, they are less than a block away. read more

Stopped in today for the first time and need to give this place 5 stars for service. I initially ordered grilled chicken which wasn't very fresh so I went to return it. The manager immediately apologized and returned my money. Martin at the cash register wanted to turn my experience around and walked over to my table with fresh hot fried chicken. He was really nice and came back around to ask if my fried chicken tasted good and also came to grab our plates when we were all finished. I had Pollo Campero in Guatemala when I had traveled to visit family many many years ago. So glad they are now in Lawndale. The fried chicken, cole slaw bread and fries were amazingly delicious. Customer service is for sure a priority at this new Pollo Campero location. I walked in to smiling faces and the older lady with glasses said, "hi Jose!" As if she knew me all of my life... then I realized i was wearing my work name badge. Lol. Deybi, the shift supervisor was very pleasant and apologized as they did not have a part of my online order. He took 20% off my order for the inconvenience, he did not have to do that but it was a very nice touch and that type of dedication to customer service will always keep customers coming back. I tried the fried chicken meal and the chicken itself was so juicy and flavorful. It puts KFC to shame (11 spices lmao). This chicken was amazing. The sides I got were the fries and coleslaw. I didn't love those, but it's okay cuz the chicken and bread alone made my lunch a great one. Definitely going back. Highly recommend the pollo frito (fried chicken) read more

To start ordering online took about 40 mins for the order to be ready. Grilled Chicken was oily and over seasoned. The rice was a bit dry and didn't look like the picture. The beans were okay, the mash potato was good but the gravy had an odd taste. The buns were warm, nothing special. Service was ok but was slow to get orders out later in the day. Location had a good amount of tables parking was a bit limited but depends on time of the day ambiance was calm but it was the evening so could be different in the day.
