Finally a Pollo Campero closer by me than the location in LA. I'm not sure if it's their seasonings or cooking methods but you can't really find the Pollo Campero flavor anywhere else. The first time I came they forgot to charge me for my drink but they still gave it to me. So nice! Today I was having a sad day so I decided to make it better by ordering a chicken sandwich with some other snacks and was really excited. Unfortunately they didn't charge me for the sandwich so they didn't give it to me but they gave me my mashed potatoes and fries lol...I decided not to wait the extra minutes for them to cook my food because I didn't want the car behind me to have their food get cold since they said they started on theirs already. As a food worker/cashier I would suggest for your drive-thru workers to repeat the guest's order after taking it to confirm any mistakes and make sure the customer's order is correct as this is the second time it happens. Today Nov. 10, 2023 we passed to el pollo campero at 17th St and Grand in Santa Ana, and ordered a meal of 20 pieces of fried chicken with 3 side orders to go, we got home and served our chicken, once into the meat two members of my family found hairs in the breaded portion of their chicken, things like this shouldn't be tolerated, there has to be hygienic standards, and those have to be followed, a dress code while cooking should be a most. read more

Sorry but one of the worst experiences I've had. Went to the drive thru. Order nuggets, fries and empanadas. I was told it would take 5 mins and asked to park in front of the restaurant. Waited for 20 minutes. The nuggets and fries were both stale and cold. Didn't get the sauce. Waste of $17. read more

This is my third time coming here and the food is good. I don't often because it's a little pricy so it's a treat for me. I usually order the three-piece, mashed potatoes, and roll. We ordered the Camperitos Meal Fried Boneless Wings 100% White Meat Nuggets the picture is nothing like what we got, and the flavor let's say was nonexistent!!!! This chicken camper broke down before the journey had begun. There was a language barrier when ordering and instead of the 2 piece combo that I wanted, she rang me up for a 4 piece combo. I was okay with it, I was able to get an additional side to try. It's nice that they bring the food to your table but holy smokes they must of thought I had a death wish when I didn't order a drink because boy was this food dryer than Kevin Durants ankles. Fries: unseasoned. Rice: Straight out of a microwave like they do at El Pollo Loco. Like exact same taste and texture. And of course dry. The chicken was well seasoned but it was nothing out of the ordinary. The food was brought out in 2 minutes after ordering and I could tell it had been sitting under the heat lamp for some time. There was no salsa bar to save the dish so I drenched the food in what they had available at the table which was ketchup and hot sauce. We've bough chicken from this location at least 4 times since they've opened and they have always gotten our order right. The chicken tastes really good! Not as salty as other places, just has a good flavor. My kids, who are super picky eaters love this chicken. I haven't tried many of the sides, only the fried yuca. It was good. Other restaurants in this chain use a different chicken recipe and offer salsa. I'm South Gate and other Los Angeles locations the chicken is so delicious and flavorful that I drive to Los Angeles. Unfortunately the Santa Ana location chicken is not noteworthy. In a city where nearly everyone is Mexican, the place offers no salsa other than something in a bottle. Hopefully it will change its offerings asap. read more
