I was pleased with this place! Im newbie here in Florida -- so never heard of this place before! Such a flavorful meal! They have an amazing TROPICAL LITE menu for those who are trying to eat clean and fresh! I get the boneless chicken breast, yellow rice, and tomatoes and onions in balsamic vinegar! Wow! So amazingly fresh and hot! So flavorful! Chicken is so moist and wet and succulent and perfectly seasoned ! The side of tomatoes and onions is sooo flavorful! We like this place! It's a quick grab for a dinner. We normally get the family meal with red beans, brown rice, sometimes Mac & cheese (really good!). It comes with plantains and rolls. The chicken is great! Only only complaint I've ever had is an item maybe forgotten or the rolls were a little stale (but we don't consume a lot of bread anyway). Manager is always quick to give us the item if it was left off or what not when we call about it. It's only happened a few times. We dig it! read more

So irritating when they forget to put your plantains and sauces in the bag-glad I noticed before I left but then I get home and no straws but worse yet, the tropi chops were not how I ordered. Great value for the money. Priced slightly higher than fast food and you get a better atmosphere, good quality food and friendly staff. Varied menu is sure to please everyone. Long lines at lunch time still moves fast. Great place for chicken, rice and beans and sweet plantains. The guava squares are perfect for a sweet treat after you eat. read more

I am very impressed with this Pollo Tropical location! The staff are friendly, and they are always working hard all day to bring the best service to the guests. While I was eating the TropiChop (think burrito bowl), I was watching them work, and my goodness they had good communication. Cleaning the tables, bringing customers their food, etc. Very professional. The food is pretty good. I used to be a Taco Bell junkie, but after some health problems, I've decided to stay away from TB. Since Pollo Tropical was down the street, I decided to try out the food. Incredible taste! The TropiChop with Spanish rice, black beans, lettuce, tomatoes, and salsa with cilantro-garlic sauce is very tasty! They also do not accept tips from customers, which is ridiculous because they work so hard you almost feel guilty that they refuse your tip(s)! This has to be one of the worst restaurants that I have been too, the employees have no customer service skills, they were rude, they didnt have 3 of the item i wanted the food was not good the chicken and pork were extremely dry the tables were dirty, I have only once been to a restaurant this bad, I will never go again. Ordered to-go inside because the drive thru was closed. Went inside, place was disgusting. Tables were dirty, floors were filthy, salsa bar looked like it exploded. Only three people working. This location always seems to have a problem or two. First of all, they always make you pull forward to wait for your food. It's not that big of a deal and a lot of other fast food joints do it, but when it happens more times than not, that is when it becomes a problem. I'd honestly say that I've been asked to pull forward on more occasions than not, even when I only order stuff that you'd think they'd have right on hand. It's not like I'm doing a special order, or some large amount of food. Secondly, the service here is a little brash. They always seem pissed about something, and on my most recent visit (today, actually) the girl at the window actually said something to her coworker about how I had ordered something that would take too long and she wasn't "getting into trouble for no one" and then mentioned some sort of timer and gestured toward the window. I guess ordering chicken from a place that specializes in chicken sends the place into chaos. Who knew? Anyways, we got the food and left, and when we got to the park where we were going to have a picnic, my wife opened the box and saw that the roll they gave her was about the size of if they had cut a roll into four pieces and given her one of the pieces. This also seems to be a trend at this particular location. The rolls are getting smaller and smaller with each visit. But alas, the wife loves Pollo and this is the only location in the general area, so even with this two star rating, I have to admit that we'll probably be back again soon. read more

What in the heck does Pollo Tropical put on their chicken that makes it taste so good?? I'm a skin person...I often watch in disgust as my Hubby pulls the skin off his chicken and pushes it to the side of his plate, but then I get excited when I realize that I can snatch up that crispy goodness for myself (don't judge me!). So yeah, you could definitely say I dig the chicken here. In fact, I pretty much always order the same thing...1/4 white meat chicken with two sides. For sides I usually rotate between the mac & cheese, rice and beans, and plantains. However I recently found out they no longer offer plantains as a side - they are only available as an "appetizer". Bummer! I've also tried the mojo pork and it was just okay...nothing compared to what you can get from an authentic Cuban place. The prices here are great for what you get, and the service is usually good when I eat inside...staff will actually stop by your table to check on you. Like most fast food places, it doesn't feel like the cleanest place in the world, but it seems to be due to the high volume of people that go through here during the lunch hour. read more

Oh my goodness. The customer service is horrible. Three female employees were just standing there gossiping. Ordered a wrap. I was horrified, the tortilla was so dried that it feel apart. I cannot believe that the person who made this would let someone be served a dried wrap. The fries were way over cooked and completely stale. Never will return. Every single time I come to this location it's a terrible experience. I love the food at pollo and it's the only one by my job so I always go and think "maybe it won't be so bad this time" but it's always horrible. Wait time In line takes forever (even when there is only one person ahead of you) and then the food takes an insane amount of time as well. The sauce bar and drink station is disgusting and every table is always so dirty. AND on top of all that..my order is wrong probably 80% of the time. Employers are rude and clearly don't care at all because when I politely ask them to give me the correct item I always get an attitude from them. Honestly this is ridiculous I never ever ever write reviews but this restaurant is so freaking awful. And even when a manager is around they don't give a crap about the customers either. As much as I hate to say this, never again will I eat here. It's not becaus of the food. It's their servicce. Numerous times the employees have us move up in the drive through because they are being timed. I have complained about this dishonest practice before. Tonight was no exception. As soon as I ordered, they said it would be 5 to 10 minutes on the chicken. No biggie. I paid $29 for a family of four and pulled up to a parking spot. Ten minutes later, they appear with my meal, but forgot the drinks. When they go in to get the drinks, I start checking the bags. They did not triple cook the plantains like I had asked and did not include the ice cream that comes with the kids meals. The guy that brought the drinks told me I'd have ot pull back through the drive thru that he was just told to bring the drinks. Ugh! I pulled back thru and the girl was apologetic, but told me to pull up as she looked up at the timer. I told her I would not pull but, but would wait on my plantains. She walked away and then came back to ask me to pull up again. I told her no one was behind me, therefore I would not be pulling up. A manager did come by the window to apologize. I love a healthy-ish fast food alternative with a drive thru since I have kids, but I can't deal with their awful service. Oh, I must say I LOVE Pollo Tropical. The balsamic tomatoes and cilantro garlic are my absolute favorite menu items. This location is getting worse. Over the last couple of months the staff has drastically changed. The customer service sucks and the food is quite different, just depends on the hour you visit. I'm finding that they're beginning to not put much into the appearance of food preparation. The yellow rice is so gooey and all over the to go container. They used to put it in a separate container, but I think they run out of the container a lot so they just flop it in the to-go tray. I can't think of one time I have been and my order was just as I requested. They're always rushing and never get things right. Then when you go in to have your order fixed everyone in the kitchen stops what they're doing to look you in the face. I visit this location at least once every week, but I don't plan on continuing my visits because the service and food is lacking. A huge, huge problem is the appearance of the staff. Cleanliness is crucial!, but doesn't seem to be high on this store's importance list. The manager needs to make some changes with this store. read more
