Bowl of chicken soup barely has any chicken in it. I will stick to my grilled chicken avocado salad as it is usually consistent as long as they aren't stingy with the chicken on that as well and the beans aren't hard. The chipotle dressing definitely adds great flavor the salad. read more

They lost my order (3 people/family and couple sides), they ticked off the people behind me which had my wife concerned and they said, well we lost their orders as well. We get home and they left out the one item from the $40+ order that was for me. This is NOT THE first time either, why I hate to get there. Only reason I went there for the family was I will eat their fried yucca. Store was in Boynton Beach Florida on Congress. 15+ minutes for the re-create the order on top. We got the watch their guy pitching the trash at the dumper you can see at the pickup window, he had on the plastic gloves they serve the food with as he pitched the track in the dumpster and handled the door as well. So probably better I did not eat in. I did called the 866 number, and they said NO PHONE NUMBER we will not take the complaint, we will not talk to you, I gave them a made up number, they wanted to give me $5 for more info, Email ,etc.. The Spanish people are talking in their language and they're helping each other out and everyone else is just waiting. The best advice is that no one should come to this particular store as it represents the worst experience of quality of food at this franchise in 32 years. The place is brand new yet unappealing. Out of the three entrees we ordered half of them were not cooked properly. We were starving and where only able to eat half of our food. It's funny because people come here only because there's really not many other choices around the immediate area as they even had closed down the close by tacos Al carbon store in a couple of blocks down recently so patrons don't have much of a choice for a 15 to 20 block distance of restaurants. Since Yelp has started and I opened my account this particular review is my worst recommendation of all time and that says a lot based upon my followers and being a foodie myself. The best advice is to go somewhere else until these guys get the act straight. I can only imagine what their corporate headquarters in Miami would say if they visited here they would shut them down immediately. I would not recommend this location. I ordered on the app and my order wasn't ready as promised nor had it been started. The associate handling my order clearly needed more training. She appeared confused. My order was prepared properly and the ingredients in the tropichop were plentiful. It even looked pretty! On the downside, the chicken was dry as a bone. This is the first time I've ever encountered this issue at Pollo Tropical. Thank God I had curry mustard to drown the chicken so it would be palatable. I'm always surprised that the food is so good for fast food. Lots of locals inside & drive thru was busy for a week night. (Can't be that bad). The reason why I stopped here was because I had a wonderful Grilled Chicken Sandwich with Chipotle mayo in Delray a few weeks ago, so when I was hungry on the way home from an appointment in West Palm, I stopped at this drive-thru. The bread was stale and the chicken was not as moist and tender as the sandwich I described above. I put the bread back in the bag and ate the chicken (I was hungry!) and decided I would not stop at this restaurant again. Management: please read the 1-star reviews and figure it out. Of all the Pollo Tropical locations I have been to in Palm Beach County, this one needs the most help. It takes a lot for me to go out of my way to write something negative about a restaurant. I've had inconveniences at this place over the years, but it was never enough to really bother me. I ordered the wings as it was my favorite item from them back when they had it years ago. I was sad when the removed it. Getting to the point - I thought these were supposed to be fresh? I felt deflated after I saw the person take the wings out of the assembly line container that you see at a fast food burger place. How long were they sitting there? Yeah, I should have said something there. It was a to-go order. I also should have checked them on the spot. Shame on me that I didn't. I opened them up in my car and what I got looked old, stale, and burnt. It was the lunch rush hour. The line was near the door and it had already taken me a long time to get my order. I was so hungry I didn't have the energy to go back. YOLO. They were awful. You'll notice in the pictures I did eat four of five wings. If old and burnt chicken wings is your thing, order them from here. The fifth wing had no meat at all. The outside was cripsy and had a burnt shell of some sort. Worst service I've ever received at a PT and I actually show up with subpar expectations. Food wasn't even warm. Sat and watched my plate sit on a counter top for longer than usual in a very mild amount of traffic inside and at drive through. Then after ordering a $15 meal they wouldn't include a drink. I didn't dare ask for sauce of any sort because the attitude I was met with when requesting my drink, I just figure it best to eat what I could and leave without spending another dime with this place. This used to be my favorite drive-thru. Chicken, yellow rice, and black beans was the go-to dinner for the two of us. When I saw the churrasco steak ad crawl across my facebook feed, it looked so good that I tried it. Big mistake. The churrasco steak TropiChop with double meat was a pile of too-salty yellow rice with six strips of "steak" so twisted and dried out i thought i was eating jerky. Chances are there's one near you too! This one is fairly close to our house. It's better service than the one on Okeechobee Blvd for sure. We usually just get a family meal with beans and rice. For $15 to feed the whole family you really can't beat it. Especially if you're working late and need something you can just run in and grab. Which is the case tonight for example. This location has alot less traffic than the one on Okeechobee. It takes a little while to get your food, so you don't wanna be waiting in a huge line. I also like this location because there is ample parking which the Okeechobee location also doesn't have much of. The quarter chicken with the herbs and spices is ridiculously good. I eat a ton of chicken everyday and if I don't eat theirs once in a while my mouth dreams about it - so moist, juicy, and flavorful without being overbearing. If you get the quarter chicken combo it comes with this white rice and black beans. It seems like cheap side items at first, but I am sure they are under-appreciated. As a filipino, I've been eating metric tons of white rice my whole life and there is something subtly good going on there. There's a tiny bit of flavor there and it's just the right amount of moist. You know how a meal gets ruined with bad white rice. I don't have a tongue for black beans, but these ones are pretty tasty too. I mix them together with the white rice and I believe the combo came with a bread roll too. All that being said, their food is expensive for poor people budget and the quarter chicken combo does not come with a fountain drink. You end up having to get a tiny courtesy cup which they have to refill for you. If you wanna be healthy and lose weight not drinking sodas come here, but if you are poor and like soda pop then I would only come here once every several months to dig into that memorable chicken. read more

My family and I came here because we love pollo but we just got evicted from our house and moved to lake worth. So this location is the closes to the nearest pollo. We only had $30 to our name and we ordered a whole chicken and 3 sides for $22 and some change to feed my family. I understand it's the covid19 going around but the chicken I got was so dry that my youngest even chocked on the thigh of the chicken. The only food we enjoyed was the sides that came with the meal. Regarding our financial status we would have got a better deal from kfc with the $20 fill up. Ordered the whole chicken family meal with sides of white rice and black beans and included a small order of fried plantains. The rice and beans not the usual flavorful sides. Worst yet was the chicken. Although this order was placed just a few minutes after 12:00 noon, the chicken was overcooked to the point of being dried out like it was left on the grill for hours or was it from the day before and just heated again. One leg quarter so dried out it was not edible at all, a side breast portion burned so only partially edible. Tried to contact the store three times. They were not answering their phones.
