Went here for a birthday and had a wonderful time with wonderful food!! To start our servers were very friendly and Jojo was very knowledgeable of the entire menu, including describing the daily specials and the flavors/ingredients of each dish we ordered. To start we got the lobster crawfish wontons and the seafood spring rolls. The lobster crawfish wontons have a Cajun cream cheese inside which was a flavor bomb, and the wontons were fried crispy but not oily. The sauce on top helped to cut through the richness of the wonton stuffing. It was a delicious appetizer!! The seafood spring rolls were massive, again a really good fry on them with the skin being thin and super crunchy but not overdone. The seafood inside was generous, but I would say the flavor was more just of the seafood itself instead of any special seasoning. Still good, but we preferred the wontons more! The mains were the lobster fried rice and the drunken noodles. The lobster fried rice had a gochujang flavoring but didn't have as much of a wok sear in my opinion, but was still good! The lobster was fried beautifully, where the meat was super soft and the fry on the outside was crunchy! It also came with these fried kale chips that were sooooo good, these chips had so much flavor!! My favorite was the drunken noodles, which had a lot of flavor from the wok sear and a slightly sweet and spicy sauce. We asked for chili on the side, and definitely think the added heat made this dish much more flavorful. The lobster here was also really good and well buttered! For dessert, we shared the matcha crème Brulee which was fantastic, strong matcha flavor that was tempered with the creaminess of crème Brulee. The torched sugar on top was superrrr well done, super crunchy and probably one of the best sugar torching on crème Brulee I have had!! In between each item, Jojo would clean our plates and table, and we saw him also ensuring everyone's dish was cooked to their liking. Everyone seemed to really care about the quality of the food and it made for a really nice experience! I would say the ambiance is dim lit casual to upscale, great for work events, date nights, etc. Overall a great place for flavor packed food with exceptional service!
I finally treated myself to Poor Calvin's after hearing about it for years. It's honestly a little embarrassing it took me this long, but I'm one of those people who hears about a restaurant and somehow doesn't make it there until years later. I ordered several dishes to get a good feel for the menu. Ordered: * Crab Beignets * Lobster & Scallop Drunken Noodles * Lobster Mac & Cheese * Midnight Sticky Ribs Overall, I'd give it 4 out of 5. The presentation was excellent, and I can definitely see why it's become an Atlanta favorite. However, I don't think the food fully lives up to the reputation it's built over the last decade. The crab beignets were the clear standout. They were creative, unique, and easily my favorite dish. The lobster and scallop drunken noodles and lobster mac & cheese were both flavorful, but not as memorable as I expected. My biggest disappointment was the midnight sticky ribs. They had good flavor but were noticeably overcooked and drier than I've ever had. I still think Poor Calvin's is worth trying because it's a unique part of Atlanta's food scene. I just left feeling that the food was comparable to several other great Asian fusion restaurants around the city rather than being in a league of its own. Just my two cents. This was absolutely a 10/10 experience. I was staying at the Marriott Downtown for a work trip and desperately needed to catch up with my friend and eat before heading to bed. I wasn't expecting much from this place but it was the perfect gem. I wasn't expecting much able to make a last minute reservation online and we were seated immediately. The waiter was professional and so friendly--he literally knew every little thing about each dish. He provided some great recommendations and we decided to order the lobster crawfish wontons, the crispy beef, the drunken noodle with scallops and lobster tail, and the sticky ribs. I easily could have eaten all the wontons myself and the drunken noodles came large lobster tails and plenty of scallops. I ate these so fast that I forgot to take a picture. The crispy beef was a little bit on the sweeter side but it was the perfect amount of crunch and sauce that paired well with the vegetables and jasmine rice. I also really enjoyed the ribs--they were very tender and flavorful. It came with collard greens which I didn't enjoy as much but the other dishes were so good and I ate so much that I didn't mind. I also saw plenty of couples celebrating milestones together so it definitely makes for a cute night out if you're in the area looking to have a nice dinner with your partner. I hope to be back to Atlanta soon so that I can indulge again.
Another year, another visit to Poor Calvin's. Once again went as part of a larger group. Tue front of house staff is very welcoming. The menu here is very nice. I think our host ordered one of everything on the starters menu. Everything I tried was great. They once again made me a smoked Old Fashioned. For my main course I had lobster, duck, bok choy, and mashed potatoes. It was delicious. Finished the evening with an espresso martini.
I enjoyed the atmosphere upon entering. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and recommended several dishes. We got the lobster wontons which were really good. For the main the lobster fried rice was amazing and even better the next day. The other main was fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and greens. The greens had a tangy flavor that was different but tasty. The drinks were also good. My only issue was the valet. The parking lot was too small and they kept moving my car to get other cars in. We watched them from the window continue to move my car which was in a parking space and bend the side mirrors back when they are automatic. One window was out the other was back. It was weird and the guys acted oblivious to the issue.
After long sessions at work, I was recommended to Calvin's by a close friend. When we arrived, we were seated immediately, even without a reservation. The vibe and ambiance of the place were fantastic, even though it is a small, closely-packed restaurant. Our waiter was extremely friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and took note of my allergies. I tried the Long Island; it was three drinks in one, with a spice that made it stand out. For dinner, I had chicken with lobster and greens. Mac was a little spicy, but mixing it with the greens worked well because they were sweet. I definitely will return to Calvin's; I can't call him poor because the prices are not low.
My husband and I were in Atlanta attending a conference and doing some research when we came across Poor Calvin's online. We intentionally avoided reading reviews because we wanted to form our own opinion, and we're so glad we did. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed warmly by the host, which immediately set the tone for a great dining experience. Once seated, our waiter was attentive, personable, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to care that we enjoyed our meal. The food was outstanding, the drinks were excellent. Poor Calvin's delivered from start to finish. If you're visiting Atlanta or you're a local looking for a restaurant that combines exceptional food with outstanding hospitality, Poor Calvin's is well worth the visit. We left with absolutely no complaints and look forward to returning the next time we're in Atlanta.
I was told that this was a wonderful place. You must use the valet service. The service here is spectacular. Waiter recommended the Lobster fried rice so that is what I got. The lobster was a little chewy and fried hard. The green side was crispy but cooler than room temperature. The food tasted food but not worth the hype. Next time, I will grab a drink and order something different.
Poor Calvins was okay. I wasn't wowed by my food but the experience was nice and the food was good for what it was. I opted for one of their specials which was a lamb meatloaf w/ gravy ontop and it came with a lobster tail and mashed potatoes for $55. The meatloaf seem to have more filler in it and I could barely taste the lamb. The sauce ontop was okay. The mashed potatoes were bland. The best thing was the lobster tail. I got the suspension cake which was highly raved about according to the reviews. It was good but not the best dessert I've ever had. It's a HUGE slice of cake so if you order it, share it with others or take it home. I split it between the 3 of us and we still couldn't finish it. Service was great and the host was kind enough to save me a table. They get BUSY the moment they open the door, so if you don't have reservations, get there 15 minutes prior to opening. It's hard to get in there. Would I'd come back? Eh. I can't say that I was that impressed or curious enough to try anything else. It is a bit pricey but not so unaffordable.. come check l it out for yourself.
The food...superb! Customer service...outstanding. Ambience...top-tier. Poor Calvin's will definitely be a staple every time I visit Atlanta. And Ariel? She deserves a raise ASAP...truly a breath of fresh air. Her energy, attentiveness, and warmth took the entire experience to the next level. Highly, highly recommend!
This space has great reviews, and it's because of the food and the amazing service, we got the duck and lobster which the duck was to die for, I would like the mashed purée to have a little bit more butter and seasoning, but overall the whole dish was excellent. We got the mussels that was very rich and delicious,, great flavors. The dessert, we ordered the Pound Cake topped with bananas foster made that dish explode from a 10 to 100.
I've been eyeing this place since I started traveling to ATL and I'm so happy I finally got to try this gem! The menu is so creative and fuses Asian and southern flavors so well and beautifully. We shared all the dishes and ordered the seafood spring rolls, lobster crawfish wontons, crab beignets, and the seafood curry. All of the dishes were so flavorful - the spring rolls were completely stuffed with all types of seafood and the sauce was a perfect pairing. The lobster crawfish wontons were creative and had huge chunks of crawfish inside... yum. The beignets were savory and paired so well with the pimento crab dip... so creative! The seafood curry was nothing like I've ever tasted - it was a mix of all types of curry flavors and included collard greens as part of the many vegetables and perfectly cooked seafood. It was an amazing dish and I highly recommend it. Ariel was the best waitstaff and she helped us pick all of our dishes and had wonderful recommendations and was super accommodating. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cute spot with delicious food and cocktails. I'll be back soon!

Believe the hype! Poor Calvin has mastered the art of fusing beautiful cuisines and creating flavorful dishes. This post is long overdue. I have a few photos from many of my visits, but I'll try to keep this review quite simple and to the point. Ambience: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 (special shout-out to Jordan!) Whenever my fiancé and I go to PC we normally start with the Devil Eggs w/ Crab Meat. These hard boiled eggs are fried in a light batter and covered with a special homemade brown sauce, crab meat, caviar, and other tasteful garnishes. Don't be shy with these. Go ahead and take a full bite of the egg to experience every flavor. My fiancé loves the Lobster Fried Rice. It's a PC favorite. I recommend trying it. It brings a Thai twist to fried rice. It has pineapple chunks, some Brussels sprouts, and other amazing veggies. My all-time favorite is the Chilean Sea Bass. It's fresh, pan-seared, and cooked to perfection. It's hands down the best Chilean Sea Bass I've ever eaten! It's usually atop a banana leaf and some artichokes with a nice specialty orange sauce. And then they place a fried egg on top. I recommend trying it all in one bite. And please do yourself a favor and try one of their specialty crafted cocktails. You can not go bad with any of them. I love the Dark + Stormy. It's a mule with ginger beer and mezcal (yum!)!!! I'd also recommend the El Diablo and their Long Island Ice Tea (which is called something else). I'm always grateful for Jordan's expert knowledge of the menu and his keen and artistic approach to crafting beautiful drinks. Stop reading. Look no further: Go now! read more

The food was mediocre. I had the shrimp, wontons, and the broccolini. The best thing I had was the broccolini. The person with me had fried chicken and lobster mac & cheese. Due to her allergies, she requested the chicken be put to the side of the plate or on a separate plate. They make no accommodations for people with allergies. Putting an item on a separate plate or to the side on the same plate is considered a substitution and is not allowed. Updated. read more

I returned here because the first time I came here for years ago, I ate a dish that I have remembered ever since. It was a pan seared Chilean sea bass immersed in Thai curry, alongside sweet potatoes (also in curry), mixed vegetables, and topped with a quail egg. This was easily one of the best things I've ever eaten. Upon my return, I decided that I would explore the menu, but ultimately I knew that I would get this dish again if they had it. Well, they had a dish with pan seared Chilean sea bass, but it wasn't the exact same dish. This new dish had a tomato sauce as its base, though it had other traces of its predecessor. I ended up getting the Thai curry seafood, which was a very delicious dish. The variety of vegetables and seafood in the tasty Thai curry was very yummy no doubt. I liked how the seafood still had some great flavor in how it was seasoned and prepared, in addition to the flavor taken on when submerged in curry. All in all a good dish, but this wasn't really a fusion dish like the first one I had. The place has definitely changed vibes a little since I last came. The vibe 4 years ago was a bit more on the soul food side with some Asian fusion. I got the New Orleans voodoo feel due to the lighting and the super nice voodoomamajuju-type lady who worked there. The vibe now is definitely more on the Asian side with multiple Buddha statues and what not. I don't remember the menu 4 years ago, but perhaps the dishes now lean more toward the traditional Thai side (rather than fusion). read more
So far my favorite foodie experience in ATL! For starters, the crab wontons are unforgettable. So yummy, probably the best wonton I've ever had. We really enjoyed the mussels as well. The sauce was everything! For entrees we ordered the lamb shanks and baby back ribs with lobster mac n cheese. Both were fire!!! Drinks were delicious as well. Highly recommend the Long Island! Our server Ashley was the best! Couldn't have asked for better service. She was very friendly and attentive to our table from beginning to end. Overall, this place gets 5/5. The Food was awesome. I will definitely promote and tell folks that they need go there to enjoy that Soul asian fusion. The service was awesome as well. Presented food in timely manner and always came by to check on me and wife on anything. The Bartenders were great and very sociable. They kept us laughing and having a good time. We will definitely come back from our 2 hour drive to spend at Poor Calvin's. Love it! read more

If you have an adventurous palette Poor Calvin's is the spot for you. My experience was great. Everything came out very fresh! I tried frog legs for first time and was pleasantly surprised that I liked them. Seasoned very well. The wontons were good but filling was a bit too creamy and I would have preferred to have the vinaigrette drizzle on the side. Main dish I ordered the seafood curry, which was pretty good. It came with a side of coconut rice as well. This restaurant just feels a bit small. I feel like the tables next to us were a bit too close but it wasn't a big deal. Customer service was good the staff seemed passionate about the meals. read more
Poor Calvin's is is a unique dining experience. If you want to test out a persons pallet with fine dining then this a good place to start. The restaurant is on the smaller side so great for a date or parties smaller than 5. The restaurant has pretty decorations. The security was on site and nice. Valet is available. The hostess was a little spicy but our server was great. He was knowledgeable and entertaining. The crew worked well together. The food and drinks were tasty. About $100 per person for entree, appetizer and 1-2 drinks. read more

The service was excellent. The waitress was well-versed on all entrees and drinks. I got the stir fry with tiger shrimp and rice and it was good. I don't think I would order it again since it's a lot and there were some pieces I didn't want or care to eat it. We went on Mother's Day, so there was a crowd but we did make a reservation about a week ago. Thought there were a lot of people, I feel like it wasn't loud at all. read more
I've had Poor Calvin's on my list for a while now and was finally able to come around to try it, and my only regret is not coming here sooner. There is free valet parking in front of the restaurant which makes parking super simple, especially with poor calvin's being in an area without a lot of parking options. The interior is decorated very interestingly, with a myriad of Asian themed furniture scattered around the restaurant. Onto the food, our waitress was absolutely amazing and gave the absolute best suggestions. I had the ribs with curry while my boyfriend got the smoked duck and shrimp and I don't think I've had such good food in a long time. The ribs were perfectly tender and the curry was to die for. My boyfriends smoked duck was also one of the best duck's I've had in atlanta. For dessert we shared the red velvet suspension cake. I don't know if you can place an order for a whole cake instead of just a slice, but I'd like to do that someday. Overall, poor calvins makes the list for top spots in atlanta, and I can't wait to come back again and try more items on the menu! read more

Food was different but good, we tried multiple dishes, so I have a different take on our selected items. Nothing was bad at all, shaky shrimp was a little salty though. Didn't care too much for the peach empanadas. Service was great, Gratuity is included so don't tip for extras unless they're extra with the experience. Wonderful experience, we had a reservation and were sat promptly. Waitress was very knowledgeable and gave us an overall of the specials and described the popular choices . Poor Calvin's is my favorite place to eat at in Atlanta, Georgia. The bartenders are incredibly nice and make your meal 10x better because of how friendly they are (Jordan, Hendry, and GM James). I would highly recommend starting off your meal with the Lobster Wonton appetizer. The Lobster Wontons is THE BEST appetizer I have ever tasted. I had ordered the Lobster Tail and Tiger Shrimp Curry and my friend had ordered the Seafood Pasta Special. If you love vegetables, I would definitely order the Lobster Tail and Tiger Shrimp Curry because it is PACKED to the brim. Try a new drink when you go here! The Long Island Tiki had me craving to order another one but I decided to mix it up and try my first ever Lychee Martini. 10/10 stars. Make sure to reserve a table ahead of time!!! read more

Chef Calvin did such an amazing job with this restaurant. Our waiter Jojo provided excellent service with recommendations from the menu from most popular dishes to staff favorites. We ordered the lobster mac n cheese, lobster and crawfish wontons, and the Australian lamb chop. The dish that stood out to me the most was the wontons. The outside is crispy and the filling is soo flavorful. The mango glaze balanced the heavy filling perfectly. We also ordered the ube creme brulee for dessert. The crunchiness of the caramelized sugar and (i think) pistachio topping paired very nicely with the rich ube custard. read more
Came back over six years later and finally met Calvin. He was super nice and almost a little shy, but he could've just been busy. I got to try a few more things this time, also. My sister treated my cousin and I and it was amazing. We ended up trying an appetizer each. I got the seafood spring rolls. They were delicious! My sister got the lobster wontons and they were great! My cousin got the chicken and shrimp dumplings and I enjoyed these, as well. I ended up getting the same thing I did 6 years ago but I was not disappointed. I did get the signature dish but this meal was beyond amazing. I'm going to keep scoping the menu for changes and definitely come back because some of the things I saw on their Instagram weren't available and I'm definitely trying them. My cousin and sister loved their meals. I got to try the ribs and they were delicious but very tender in the sauce was spectacular. My sister ended up getting a Thai dish and the curry with the coconut milk was insatiable. I got to put a little of the sauce over my rice and it was a nice touch. Service: 5/5 staff was very knowledgeable about the menu, our server Louise knew all the components of each dish, was able to answer all of our questions, and was very friendly Food: 4.5/5 the food was excellent honestly, just a little bit heavy, lots of fried dishes, but everything was prepared well and packed with tons of flavor. The portions are huge. I ordered a special that was off the menu: it was a spaghetti dish with crispy duck, tiger shrimp, and sausage in a creamy spicy sauce. It was delicious. Could've given more duck (only 2 thin slices) but still very good. I had bites of all of the dishes, the crispy beef and the ribs and they were very good, flavorful, meat cooked to perfection, and the veggies were good as well. The entire menu seems good also so I definitely would want to return and try other dishes. It's definitely a go to spot for a nice dinner, birthday, girl's night, or date night. Poor Calvin's is truly one of a kind! It is a foodie's dream place and somewhere you could return to over and over and get a unique experience each time. I am low-key sad that I don't live in Atlanta simply because it means I can't go back. Everything we tried was genuinely delicious! Some of the items we ordered were frog legs, mussels, fried green tomatoes, fried grouper, curry, crispy beef, and for dessert - of my goodness - the marvelous suspension cake. The flavor profiles for each dish were complex and inspired, with each bite a little bit different. Plus the service was top notch! This is the easiest food review I will ever do. At one point I lived down the street from this restaurant and probably went once every few months. Believe me when I say I've never had a bad menu item or bad experience here. The food is always phenomenal , the ambiance is comfy and eclectic and the service is always top notch. This particular time I was going to celebrate my friend and his partner for a dinner on the town. When you first walk in you are greeted with a giant Buddha and East Asian accents all around. Be warned the entrance and restaurant overall is small but accommodating. We were seated immediately (make reservations especially on the weekends ) and were taken to the back room. There are these little light up cherry blossom trees as you walk back very reminiscent of the botanical gardens Christmas lights celebration (so pretty). The waiters are always so knowledgeable about the ever changing menu and helpful in terms of guiding you on what you should order for food and drinks. The menu overall is a fusion of southern cuisine and Asian influences. The owner and chef , Calvin , is usually present and can even be seen bringing out plates to tables at times which I think is a great touch for the owner to be so present. The menu itself is one of those things to where no matter what you pick you will be happy! Same goes for the drinks (phenomenal). Some of my personal all times favorites include the lobster fried rice (their most popular dish and for good reason ) , Thai basil grouper, and the crispy beef. But again I've pretty much tried everything on the regular menu and it's all excellent. For appetizers we tried the calamari ( theirs is a bit different as they are thick cut "strips " with dipping sauce that is sort of sweet and spicy glaze ) and the lobster crawfish wontons , both were great but if you had to pick one I'd say go with the calamari, it's perfection. My all time favorite appetizer is the fried green tomatoes and Korean beef. For the entree I opted for the Thai basil grouper , my friends got the Korean bbq ribs, pad Thai duck and lobster tail. We each tried each others dishes as all were so good. For drinks my go to are the Calvin's lychee martini (must have ) and the Long Island tiki (my new favorite ). So refreshing and sweet but strong at the same time , definitely packs a punch (pun intended ). They also have a drink that comes in a canteen (really like 3 drinks ) ask your waiter about that one. My entree , the Thai basil grouper , was exceptional. It used to be served in a half pineapple but has since evolved to be served over a bed of vegetables with a sweet glaze, fried perfectly crispy. Typing this makes me want to go there now, it's that good. Most all the entrees come with side of jasmine rice. This is to me one of the best restaurants in ATL and a must visit whether you are from out of town or a local. read more

We are on a business trip and picked Poor Calvin's from among the top rated midtown restaurants within an easy walk on a very warm Spring day. I am very glad we did as everything was perfect. The service was great. The deviled eggs for an appetizer were amazingly delicious with just the right amount of spicy. The pad see ew was great for me, though the more experienced Thai eaters said it was just ok. Very expensive $45 entrees so good thing we are on an expense account. read more

Appetizers: Octopus watermelon salad - so fresh and a salad, with blue cheese. The octopus meat was tender. The watermelon chunks were very large and hefty but I've never had watermelon seasoned like this with savory flavors but it worked sOOO well. Lobster wontons - these were sooooo good. The different sauces on top of them added a whole 'nother level of deliciousness. Entrees: The entrees here are huge portions so have your stomach be prepared :D Pad Thai Tiger Shrimp and Scallops - the shrimp and scallops were cooked to perfection. So tender and full of flavor. I could go on about this. But wow. The pad thai noodles were kinda like your typical but also had some smoky flavors to it which I thoroughly enjoyed. Prik Kingh Grouper - Served in a giant half of a pineapple. Aesthetics on point. The string beans were delicious. The fried grouper was impeccable, so well-seasoned and the flavors came out through the crispy layer of batter. Although it looks small from the front, there is a good amount of seating. Love the decor that is Eastern-culture inspired. The service is on point here, too. They give great recommendations and make sure to pay attention to the specials (that's what the octopus watermelon salad was, and it was a hit). I've been here two years ago for graduation and was glad to make a return visit. read more

We came to Poor Calvin's for brunch and sat on the patio. Be prepared for some sun! The food and drinks were good--I enjoyed my cocktail a lot--but seemed awfully pricey. I had the chicken and waffle (don't let the green color scare you off!) and thought the main dish was tasty but didn't love the side of fruit salad. Be aware they charge a mandatory 19% gratuity on all bills. I wish this restaurant had a parking lot since the street parking situation around here can be a challenge. read more

Incredible! This was my first time visiting and will not be my last! Enoch (sp?), our server, made this experience all the more better. Everything was well seasoned and flavorful from the first bite! We had the lavender lemonade (shoutout to the former Eatonville restaurant in DC where I first tasted this beautiful drink), duck drummettes, the lobster fried rice that was specially served, and the pound cake. EVERY BITE WAS INCREDIBLE! And exquisite service! I told Enoch immediately during the starter course that I needed to make a reservation for a party of seven. And Enoch went ahead and got the reservation set! SERVICE! I will be back for dinner another time before my large party visits, but OMG! Social distancing and face masks are required. Ashley was our waitress and she was very attentive, and pleasant. :-) This is me and my husband's first time here and we love it. Everything was amazing. The ambiance, the appetizers, the drinks and the entree. We started out with drinks. My husband ordered a beer and sangria. I had fruit punch and it was delicious. Than, ordered an appetizer. We live deviled eggs, so that was our choice. They were a little spicy, but they were really good. We also ordered the lobster Mac and cheese to share. A great choice. For our entree, I had the Seafood Melange pasta and my husband had the Crispy Beef and shrimp with rice. We were so stuffed from the deviled eggs and we didn't eat our entree. We sampled it, and had the restaurant pack it for us to take home. We will definitely be back soon. We really enjoyed ourselves. :-) read more
The first time I had this place was over four years ago and I've been wanting to go back ever since but it was never the right time lol and getting a reservation on a weekend can be difficult if you don't plan in advance. I finally was able to try it again and it was just as good! I would recommend making a reservation for as soon as they open and getting there about 15 minutes early so that you can park in their small parking lot. The seating can be tight but the decor is beautiful!!! The "special" or "seasonal" dumplings they had for a starter were amazing! I couldn't choose between all the appetizers they have but went with these and was really pleased. I also had a honey, ginger cocktail which was sooo good. For my entree I ordered the lamb chops with everything on it. It's really impressive how all of the food was so appetizing, and the quality of the food is top notch. I even tried some of my husband's fried chicken with Mac and cheese and it was delicious too! Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. A must try in Atlanta. read more
I absolutely love poor calvins. The food is always well prepared, flavorful and fresh. Enjoyed my birthday here with great service and an impeccable overall experience. Parking is easy with valet. Y'all... what can I say.. this was the best hidden secret in Atlanta. The service. The staff. The FOOD. The DRINKS! THE VIBE of this place!?!? Everything 5 star. Definitely on my list for a date night and more importantly it's on my list to come back and try EVERYTHING lol Make sure to get a reservation ahead of time, because this place won't be a secret much longer! read more

What a special place. The atmosphere was fantastic! The service was wonderful. Everyone had a smile on their face. The food was outstanding! We had the deviled eggs, seafood curry and lobster fried rice. We also had coffee ice cream with heath bar, and a berry compote with a fortune cookie on top! What a wonderful place to have our anniversary dinner. We were visiting Atlanta from out of town and are so happy we found this place! read more

you can, but i wouldn't recommend it, especially if you don't want to wait. reservations are best.

I think it's both because my wife and I were there recently they accepted cash and contactless payments
Are there vegan options at this restaurant? Traveling with someone who is.
There are some very limited vegan options, but I do not recommend it at all for vegan or vegetarians, as the owners will make no exceptions or adjustments to their menu to cater to vegan customers.
Any chance on getting a seat without a reservation?
Depends on the night. If you are trying on a weekend of holiday weekend I highly doubt it. The bar Possibly but expect 1-2+ hour wait
Has Poor Calvins closed down? I can't imagine?!?! This place is sooooo good. Google shows it "temporarily closed", the website doesn't exist any longer and the phone just rings and rings?!?

Omggggg! I've gotten them a few times and I'm drawing a complete blank! I'm not a seafood person and i love these things. My first time trying it i cut a piece and dipped it in the sauce. Soooo amazing i never thought to ask what all was included.…
Is this fine dining?
This is one of my favorite Atlanta restaurants. I would definitely not say this is a "fine" dining spot. It's more of a great brunch/ maybe casual dinner spot. The food is great and the staff is amazing. I pretty much come here about twice a month…
