Jackie and Samuel were working behind the counter and were absolutely wonderful! they answered all our questions and even offered a taste of the cream corn when I expressed I didnt think I'd like it. I'm so glad she did because it's absolutely delicious. Normally it's too sweet and too mushy but nope, its buttery and perfectly cooked. I ended up getting the half and half and the mashed potatoes and gravy were also perfect. It's clear they use quality ingredients and care about the food they put out. We each ordered a different pie, I got the pork one and my friends got chicken and steak. They were all absolutely delicious, though my favorite was the pork one. I wish we had taken pictures but per usual we were too hungry to wait. all of the fillings are so flavorful and the crust is so buttery and flaky. It's a cute, cozy little space with a counter on the wall and tables outside to enjoy your food. they are connected to an ice cream shop that has unique and clearly hand crafted flavors. I had a scoop of a seasonal one that waa pineapple, guava, orange juice, coconut milk, and sea salt. I was so skeptical but it is honestly the best ice cream flavor I've ever had. the very best part was definitely the customer service. Jackie is such a gem, I absolutely had to give her a hug when we left. We live in Long Beach so thankfully it's not too far to jump on the freeway to come back. The salted caramel apple was probably the favorite out of the three, I can see myself going back just for that one. It would be good if you heated it up and added a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top at home! The key like pie was not thick it was a bit creamy and it was flavorful not a bad key lime pie but I have tried better. The least favorite was the pumpkin cream cheese pie it wasn't super flavorful it had tastes of just pumpkin and maybe nutmeg or cinnamon it wasn't really sweet either. I wouldn't recommend. I tried their ube coconut hand pie and I think it was a seasonal flavor for Valentine's Day and all I can say is that everyone has to try it, it is simply the best ube dessert I've had. I hadn't been to Pop Pie Co. yet but I did see that they were doing a collaboration with Heritage BBQ and it was the perfect time to check them out. My husband and I plus our dog in tow arrived early Saturday morning and parked in the nearby lot. There was a line already but they didn't open until 9 am. We were there maybe around 8:40 am. I went to stand in line while my husband walked our dog around the lot. My husband took a look at the menu and let me know he wanted a Steak & Ale pie. I was already going the order the Heritage BBQ Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese pie but I saw that they also offer frozen pies for $1 off the baked price. When I got to the front I ordered the Heritage BBQ Pulled Pork, Steak & Ale, and a frozen Classic Chicken pie. They were handing out free pints of Stella Jean's Ice Cream to the first 20 people in line. Those were some lucky peeps! Anyway, I was handed my order and I walked out of the store not thinking to get any napkins or utensils. I had to send the husband back in to grab those items. The pies were delicious. The Heritage BBQ Pulled Pork came with a side of pickled onions which really helped balance the richness of the pork, mac & cheese, and pie crust. It was a taste explosion. My husband said the steak and ale pie was okay. He liked it but it was a tad soggy on the bottom. We still have the frozen one that I saved for a later date.
