We have visited twice. The first time we went on Lunar New Year's Day we really enjoyed it. The pot seems small but was a deeper pot than I expected. That being said, there's a lot of veggies and maybe 1-2 pieces per topping (which is usual for this style of individual hot pots anyways). I liked my Thai hot pot but it doesn't resemble the Thai flavor you would normally imagine. It wasn't sour and it didn't resemble a tom yum. Even so, I enjoyed the toppings and broth was light. I also enjoyed the Taiwanese hot pot flavor since it surprisingly was not super oily. I thought it was going to be full of chili oil and I expected it to be Ma-La spice but it wasn't which I preferred. I want to mention that the ramen that comes with the Taiwanese pot is a cheaper ramen (similar to say Mama ramen brand or any other inexpensive brand). In addition to the hot pot we tried the stinky tofu which was tasty but we did wish it was stinkier. The pickled veggies that come with the tofu is really a star. I wish they had that on the menu to order. It's one of the best pickled veggies I've had at a restaurant. When we went on Lunar New Year day the service was quick and efficient. However, two of my friends went after I did and I was told they had some issues with service. One friend ordered and waited over 20 min for her food and finally asked the staff and found out that the order was never placed. It took her somewhere over 30 min to get her food. I was surprised to hear they didn't give her a discount or a free appetizer or drink or something to compensate. Another friend went and had issues with having to ask multiple times for water. I was surprised to hear these experiences since we had such a great first experience. Shortly after we went the first time, I was craving to go again. The second time we went I ordered the House hot pot and the mixed fried appetizer and another stinky tofu. The house hot pot doesn't come originally as spicy so i asked for extra spicy spice level. I ordered the rice truffle milk tea and we asked for water. When I received my house hot pot there was a large scoop of their chili sauce. I made the mistake of stirring all of it into my soup. It wasn't like extremely spicy or anything but I didn't enjoy how oily it made the soup. When I ordered spicy I wasn't quite expecting the oily sauce they put on top. Next time I probably would ask for it on the side since it was too much sauce. The mixed fried appetizer is nice since you get to try the fish cake, rice cake, and fried chicken. It was an okay dish, not bad but not spectacular to me. Despite getting the hot pot and fried appetizer at our table we never got water at our table. I asked again for water but the server (which seems like he may be a manager or owner) still never bought water to our table. I found this very odd since it wasn't very busy at the time we went and he was just cleaning up some tables for the end of the night. We had arrived the last hour, so it was slower. Typically, bringing water is the first order of business at a restaurant but we never got water the whole night. I gave up and didn't ask a third time. Also, they seemed to forgot our tofu order. I had almost finished my hot pot before I asked the server again in which he went to ask the kitchen to make it. There seems to be some disorganization in workflow in the restaurant even when it's not busy since both my friend and I experienced this on separate days. I received a quick apology from the server but he didn't seem that apologetic nor surprised that they forgot my order even though I was almost done with my meal lol. The tofu ended up being our last thing we ate since it arrived at the end. As for my rice truffle milk tea I was asked about my preferred ice level. I said normal level but when I got my drink there was no ice lol. It seemed the tea was hot so when they poured it in the cup the ice all melted lol. The drink wasn't hot but was definitely not very cold. I enjoyed the dango on top as it was very soft and a unique touch. The drink itself was very milky and while it did have some rice flavor it wasn't very strong per se. I didn't finish the drink since I didn't rly enjoy it which is very uncommon for me for drinks. Overall, I had a great experience the first time and a subpar experience my second time. I enjoy how there is the variety of hot pot flavors to choose from. However, after trying 3 flavors, I feel like the broths are overall light in flavor and you might not get the flavor you're expecting if you prefer richer and deeper flavored broths. The food tasted mediocre the second time. I don't normally care too much about service and care mostly about the food. However, I was disappointed that they never gave water and forgot our order of tofu the second time. This is a restaurant I would return to again, but not in the near future. I would like to give it some time for the workflow to be consistent. read more

We came for their soft opening excited to try a new hot pot place in the area! The place we usually go to, tasty pot, raised their prices and also use quite a bit of sodium usually leading to some excessive water drinking or sometimes even a bit of swelling in the fingers (don't get me wrong, it's delicious, but the aftermath is not ideal ) My brother for the satay beef, I got the Thai, and my friend got the Taiwanese. We also got friend century egg and takoyaki for starters. The takoyaki is cooked very well done here, extra crispy, which some may prefer and some may prefer it cooked a little less. I like everything extra crispy so I don't mind. The century eggs were such a delectable treat! Also crispy, savory, rich and they give you a nice portion. The food comes out pretty quickly here, we were also the first to be seated upon their opening at 5pm. The place started to fill up while we were eating, reaching about 30% capacity within the first 30 minutes of their opening. The hot pots come out with a non-adjustable burner, it does seem to be designed so that the flame automatically goes out after a certain period of time. For us the timing was great, the flame went out pretty much when everyone was finished eating. For some reason, even though they're all around the same price, the satay beef comes out in a smaller pot than the other two. Regardless we each had enough to make us full. I was the only one who had enough to take home for leftovers, while my brother and friend housed down their entrees with gusto. You have a choice of rice or noodle with your pot. The rice portion is a good size, the noodle portion is a little underwhelming. Next time I'll go for the rice. Overall, the quality is good but not great. They could charge a little bit more and do a little better with ingredients. It might just be my love of quail eggs, but when the description includes quail eggs in the ingredients, I'm usually expecting more than one (which is all they give you here) The service is very friendly and quick which is a bonus. Other notes: they have an extensive tea list here though I didn't order one this time around. My friend got the winter melon tea which was sweeter than expected. I could taste the winter melon but my friend could not. I enjoyed her drink a bit more than she did. We'd like to try more of their traditional teas next time, like a classic boba. This place is amazing! I've been looking for a Taiwanese restaurant that has minced pork and this place does and it's delicious! I also got the popcorn chicken and it's excellent super crispy and the flavor is perfect. To drink I got a brown sugar milk tea with boba and it was perfectly sweet with a lot of boba. I'm from Orange County California so I know good Asian food and this is amazing Taiwanese food. The prices are very reasonable also which us poor people always appreciate. read more

Was just here the other night for their soft opening. We were there right when they opened for dinner (5pm). Within 30 min, the place started filling up a bit. First thing, their variety of different hot pot flavors is pretty great. Good range for pretty much all taste palates that enjoy hot pot. My party of 3 all ordered different ones so that we can try 3 in one visit. We enjoyed the flavors of all 3 (Taiwanese, satay beef, and Thai). Prices are on par with competitor hot pot restaurants. Their extras or add-ons are not as expansive by the least. I'd say it's the smallest of varieties compared to other establishments. Their heat apparatus for the hot pots is also limited in that you cannot adjust the flame level. It's just one until the candle/oil burns out. Gotta eat quick . They offer a tons of appetizers or non hot pot items as well. We ordered the takoyaki and the fried preserved egg. Both were fantastic. The quality of the broth is very good, not full of sodium like others (*coughs* tasty pot). I'm definitely including this place into my rotation of Asian eats. read more

I love hot pot, and Reno is very lacking in it, so while visiting a Taiwanese friend in Mesa over the Memorial Day weekend, I took her here for dinner. It was busy, but that is to be expected at good restaurants. Most of the diners appeared to be Asian, which is another good sign when eating at an Asian restaurant. I'm usually not hungry enough for an all-you-can-eat place, so the single serving hot pot which this place features suited me just fine. I got the lamb hot pot, which is my go-to when having hot pot. I can't remember what my friend got. How selfish of me! The food was hot (of course!), tasty, and filling. It's healthy to boot! I am now to the point where I enjoy stinky tofu, at least when it's grilled or in soups. The deep-fried stuff is another story. Anyway, the two people working the front, Sam and Demi, could not have been more gracious. Demi even hung around after closing time and chatted us up. It turns out she and Sam are from Taiwan, and they are those golden type of Taiwanese people that I have met many times in my life. When I walked into the restaurant it reeked of stinky tofu. Listen, I love stinky tofu but the smell was so strong that I asked them if they spilt a bottle of fish sauce. Listen to the reviews- the Korean army stew is not good at all. The soup is extremely funky and it feels like something was really off. We can never finish our pots at its competition but here we did since there was only cabbage and meat. The flavors were different but not anything amazing. Very clean. Owner guy was very nice. My husband and I moved from WA state and usually we're Boiling Point regulars unfortunately the closest thing AZ has is Tasty Pot and I found it so bland and inconsistent. We have frequented the Mesa and Glendale Tasty Pot and it tastes different almost every time. Pop Pot is closer to BP and since they opened we've gone quite a bit. Today was the first day the soup was bland. I wish they gave more in the pot for the price point but that's the only advantage Tasty Pot has on them. The service is always great & all their boba slushies are made with real fruit.y husband loves the curry fishball and I stick with the satay beef. I have tried the korean troops and love what is inside but the broth I was not a fan of. The appetizers are also great. We're regulars here and havent yet to be disappointed. I would much rather go here than Tasty Pot. read more

I decided to try this place after a friend of mine raved about it after his visit. Mind you, this is still during the soft opening period. We were seated promptly and waited on pretty quickly. Menu options were quite extensive and, I thought, reasonably priced. We ordered two Taiwanese Spicy Hot Pot and we both enjoyed the flavor and the ingredients. Lunch included an iced tea which was nice. The only thing I wished they hadn't done is to charge for extra rice. I guess time may have changed. Hot tea and white rice should always be included in a Chinese restaurant as far as I am concerned. But other than that, I would definitely come back. read more

I understand they are short staffed & get busy at times but they are ALWAYS late on everything. On days they are not busy, they will take their sweet time to greet you at the table, take your order & bring your foods out. This is my third time here & this time really disappointed me. I ordered the Korean troops and it came out with heavy burnt smell. My foods were stuck at the bottom BURNT & the cheese on top was BURNT. The entire pot tasted burnt & overall very upset. On the positive note, my Bf ordered the Japanese Miso & the broth was good. The shrimp was peeled, ready to eat. Every time I order drinks, they forget to make it unless u remind them. This time, three servers stood at the cashier talking & mind you, it was not busy at all. We had to tell them about the drink (orange green tea) in order for them to make it. I always tip when it's deserved but they didn't give us any water until we had to ask for it (which was about 30 mins later). They also did not check on us not even once the entire time. They just took our order and brought the food while barely speaking to us. They weren't friendly and didn't even greet us properly. I am not one to feel entitled to anything like that otherwise I would've said something but it's the fact that she gave us attitude and asked why we didn't tip.
