I truly love Pop-Up, some of their specials are not up my alley, and I have regretted trying a few things. However, their normal menu is pretty spot on. Mild isn't spicey at all, in my opinion, so for those of you with a softer pallet may want to try mild, vs hot/spicey. Not really a fan of the street corn or Mac n cheese. The Mac n cheese I got was plain noodles with melted gouda on top. I kinda expected more of Mac n cheese type dish, but it was flavorless and bland. Same with the street corn. I feel it could be solved too, I just need to ask for more seasoning with the corn next time. Would absolutely reccomend you try the food here and form your own opinion. read more

Wow! This place is awesome!!! I had no idea this place even existed. My work team went out to eat to celebrate a team birthday and my coworker selected this as his choice place to eat. I had to pull up the address on yelp because I had never heard of this place. I arrived shortly before 11am and sat in my car as I waited for my coworkers to arrive. The parking lot was fairly empty when I arrived. I watched cars come pouring in right at 11 and within a matter of minutes the entire parking lot was packed full! Apparently the secret about this place's existence is spreading fast throughout town. Upon entering the building, the line was backed up to the door. I was SO impressed with how fast they moved people through the line. I was ordering my food in no time at all. It moved so fast!!! I ordered the Sando, with mild heat. I order some dill fries to go with it. I barely had a chance to sit down and the food was already in front of me! What?! How did they make it that fast with all these people here?! Which is not their fault. It comes with being in the VFW. We arrived at a good time because there was not line. Ordering was easy. They have a large menu on display and a menu on the counter. I ordered the chicken and waffles, gouda mac and cheese, and fried pickles. My wife got a chicken breast, Street corn, and gouda mac and cheese as well. Our bill was almost 40 dollars which lands the place on the pricey side. However, if the food is good then it's worth it. If you're dining in then they give you number to put at your table. It did not take long at all for our food to come out. My first bite was of a fried pickle. WOW! Probably the best fried pickles I've ever had. No exaggeration. I can't recall the sauce that accompanies it but that was good. The chicken was really good. Juicy. The waffle was a waffle. Good but not remarkable. My wife expressed she thought the gouda Mac and cheese was good. I tasted and was not impressed. That's until I stirred it. That brought out the flavor. Lot of the cheese melted to the bottom. She's a huge fan of street corn and enjoyed their version. In conclusion, the food was worth the price. I plan on making a trip soon to try other menu items. The dill fries were an interesting shape and their Pop Up sauce for dipping was just amazing. The Gouda Mac and cheese was delicious and a great side to cool down the spicy chicken. They offer 4 levels of heat. I had the mild (2nd heat level) and it was good. My friend who had the 3rd heat said it was too spicy. I got the sando chickend sandwich. The chicken was well-fried with intresting level of spiciness. The spicy was not as bold as buffolo, but it was very good and intriguing. The lettuce and pickles balanced the greasy feeling from the chicken. The sandwich was also very filling. I didn't finish the whole sandiwich and I was starving before I had it. And the whole thing was 7 dollars!!! What a deal! My only suggestion would be to have a more obvious sign. The shop is inside the VFW. read more

The staff was very friendly and quick to help you with anything you need. This isn't a traditional restaurant, as you order before being seated. However this didn't change our experience other than getting our food moments after getting seated. The food was absolutely unreal. The food has to speak for itself. They also offer a full bar.
