This wasn't the best experience at a Popeyes. When I entered, there were 2 patrons eating. So, not at all busy. I decided to order a four piece of classic chicken. The woman taking my order gave some excuse that it would take a while because they can only so much chicken at once. She asked if I wanted spicy because it would be faster. No, I said. I'll wait for the classic. She again asked if I was sure I didn't want spicy because I will have to wait a while. Again no. I'll wait. She was almost acting like she wanted me to leave. Anyway, the only reason I'm not giving 2 stars is because after 20 minutes or so, my chicken came out hot and juicy. It was great. There are no longer any long lines of traffic waiting to go into Popeye's drive-through. That should have been a warning. Ordered a spicy chicken sandwich and opened it just after sitting down. It was cold. Not cold, as in refrigerated: Just not even with the faintest suggestion of warmth... like someone ordered it then decided not to pay for it, or just drove away a few hours ago. Pass. (Into the trashcan so it wouldn't be sold to some other poor sucker.) Ordered a strawberry lemonade. Unfortunately, the lemon and strawberry flavors were buried in the high-fructose corn syrup. Pass. Last time I was in they forgot to give me a biscuit with the meal. This time they gave me mashed potatoes instead of the mac & cheese I ordered. Definitely stay away from here. I'm very serious when I say that the drive thru takes 15-20 minutes long. The last time i went, there was 1 employee. Yes, 1 employee! She ran the drive thru window, front counter register, and the kitchen. We ordered two drinks and 1 strawberry biscuit. The biscuit was hard as a rock. I've never once had good service here and won't be back. EDIT: Forgot to mention that a second employee showed up near the end of my order, but went straight to eating fries directly from under the heat lamp. This is the third time ordering from the Iron Springs location via Instacart/Uber eats. Only one order was correct, the other two were missing items. Their quality control is terrible to say the least! Uber eats is no help at all. They say they'll Look into it and never get back to you. Mean while I'm out lots of money. While the food is okay the quality control regarding putting orders together needs a lot of work. Next stop is going to call my bank a file for my lost funds to be returned. The Popeyes in Prescott just needs to close. I've tried four or five times to get a good meal from them but no. It's where chicken goes to become heat lamp jerky. The sides are just as bad. Every. Single. Time. How do you screw up Mac and cheese? Ask these guys; they know how. Normally I'll wax poetic and try to have a little humor but this Popeyes is truly humorless. Dead eyed employees who would obviously rather be somewhere else. I have lost faith in the cleanliness of this restaurant. But then, I found this to be true in Holbrook Arizona and Conroe Texas. I would like to share my customer experience at the Prescott Valley Popeyes location which can only be described as a perfect example of poor management. I went in around 6:00 this evening for a dinner order. After my order was placed and my card was returned, I was informed by the gal taking my order that my order just went into the fryer and it would be about 7 minutes at which time I parked out front. Not a huge deal I thought, except for the fact that I was on my lunch hour on another visit about a week before and got the same story by the exact same gal. Due to time constraints that day I elected to go to the new chicken fingers place directly across the street instead. Now tonight as I waited for my order to be brought out to me, I had noticed no less then 3 different parties walking in and back out with what I assumed were Doordash orders. After approximately 20 minutes of sitting outside watching this I made my way back inside and approached the counter. From what I could see, my order had not even been assembled. After about 6 more minutes of waiting and watching my order was set on the counter. No explanation or apology offered for the nearly 30 minutes of waiting when I was told 7 minutes. This was when I asked for the manager. You guessed it, the same gal that had waited on me the last two times I was there. She identified herself as Susan and informed me that she was the general manager. I very politely asked her if she remembered me from my previous visit to which she answered no. I reminded her of my previous visit which ended pretty much the same way. I was not after a free meal or a comp as much as an explanation or reassurance that this would not happen again. Susan's solution was just to turn and walk into the back of the kitchen and totally ignore the problem. This was also the same solution she provided during my previous visit. I then asked her if this was how she chose to fix the situation by just ghosting the entire situation. No reply. Silence. I may have let the entire thing just go had Susan chosen to be an effective problem solver, however she decided to just run away from the problem. Very bad management decision. In a town where there are two chicken places directly across the street from their location and a newer alternative slated to come to town in the not too distant future one would think that management would want to fight to maintain and possibly improve their market share. With the present management at the helm at Popeyes, I can tell for a certainty which chicken place will be the next to close their doors. I anxiously await the opening of the El Pollo Loco. read more

I wonder why the management hires the people that work there. There was a cook behind the heating lamp area, out of uniform eating from the heating lamp area. The gentleman that took my order was trying to have casual conversation in the middle of me ordering, also chatting with another employee over the microphone saying "oh my cook is doing laundry." Then laughing like it was right time/right place to have that conversation with a customer. Finally the food was served, it smelled a bit like rancid or overused oil. I've been twice, the second time hoping the first was a fluke of bad service and food. Nope. The first time, they had trouble finding my order then left out one of my sides. The second time, no dipping sauce. Plus, most of the 'nuggets' are about 1/3 the size of a McD's nugget. This may be a criticism of the fast food industry in general. Popeyes is no exception. I got their SPECIAL and was still disappointed in the price for the product. I got two small pieces of dark meat fried chicken, a biscuit and strawberry jam, a 21 oz drink, and paid an extra $0.50 for an "upgrade" to a small cup of macaroni and cheese for a total of $7.08. Everything was good, not great. The place was clean. The service was good. The price was not unusually high. By that, I mean it seemed overpriced like every place else. So I cannot give a bad review, but I'm definitely not impressed either. The name of the game remains.. charge as much as possible and give as little as possible. Cuz everybody else does it. And then you sit in your car for 20 minutes while 3 other vehicles go through and drive away with their food while you're still waiting!
