Really enjoyed my bagel experience here. The bagels were warm and fresh, and the scallion cream cheese was excellent. I do understand the hype. I'm personally more of a salmon, red onion, and tomato guy when it comes to bagels, but that's a personal preference. These are clearly very high quality bagels! Big fan, would recommend.

I finally got to try PopUp bagel on my last trip to NYC and I loved the light dough bagels that came hot of the oven! You have to get the salt bagel which after trying all their varieties are the best! The flaky sea salt topping adds a ton of flavor without being too salty and between the soft doughy interior and nice crisp crust, the bagels may have been the highlight of my trip. I love the whipped scallion smear as well and it's fun (but messy) to rip and dip the bagels. Don't be intimidated that you have to buy a pack of 3 bagels to start, I ate 2 by myself in one sitting and went back the next morning for more. They also have special flavors of butter and schmear depending on when you go and I tried my friend's herb butter that she had saved from a previous visit and it was delicious as well. Definitely stop by and eat them right away as you need to eat them warm!

Oh my goodness- the fluffiest, yummiest, freshest bagels you'll get in the city! If you're unfamiliar with the concept you order either 3, 6, or 9 bagels with a container of cream cheese. You tear your bagels apart and dip them in cream cheese. While they lack a lot of flavor variety in bagels and cream cheese- what they do they do well!

Worth the hype! I'm glad I was with someone because I didn't realize you couldn't just get a bagel with cream cheese. Minimum with flavored cream cheese was three bagels. The apple pie schmear was soooo good! I got the plain, sesame seed, and salt bagel, and all were perfect! I'm from Long Island, NY, so I definitely appreciate good bagels, and these were perfectly tight on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Delicious!

Didn't buy into the New York bagel hype... until now. These were on a different level. Noticeably better than anything I've had before. The texture alone sets them apart, crisp on the outside with that dense, chewy interior that actually has substance. I tried the plain, salted, everything, and poppy seed. Yes, all of them. Each one delivered. The plain proves the quality. The salted has that perfect punch. The everything is balanced, not overpowering. And the poppy seed might've been the sleeper favorite. So good!

PopUp Bagels is freakin awesome! As someone who grew up in North Jersey a bacon egg and cheese bagel was a staple breakfast food in my life. I was alittle skeptical about trying a bagel place that does not serve the classic bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich but this bagel shop place blew me away. Warning this is not your typical bagel place/local deli, rather you order a select amount of bagels (you can't just order one bagel) and a "smear" (another name for cream cheese) to dip the bagels in. They sell the standard bagel flavors including plain, salt, sesame, poppy seed, or everything. They have seasonal cream cheese flavors (Ex. Hot Sauce Smear) and standard flavors available including plain, scallion, and everything bagel. Bagels Ordered - Salt, Poppy Seed, Everything ; Each of these bagels were 10/10. Each bagel came fresh out of the oven and piping hot. As soon as you tore the bagel steam came out, that is how fresh they were. Each bagel was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. - Smear ordered; Truffle Hot Sauce & Vegan Cream Cheese. Both cream cheeses were amazing and I loved that the shop offered a dairy free option! The hot sauce cream cheese had the perfect hint of spice but also was smooth and creamy. According to my sister the vegan cream cheese had the perfect flavor & texture and was possibly the best cream cheese dupe she had ever had.

As a tourist, you hear about NY bagels and how amazing it is. I thought.."its just bagels..what's the big deal?" POPUPBAGLES IS WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL I learned that NY bagels have a different texture due to their water having less minerals. I don't care what the science is, but NY is doing something right. Things I learned about this join as a newbie: - You can't order only 1 bagel. The smallest amount you can get is a pack of 3. You won't regret it. - Everything bagel was probably the best one. It gets VERY messy so I suggest you eat it outside or somewhere you can spill a lot. It does have some salt mixed so it's more on the saltier side. - Chives dip was 10/10. it isn't overly salty so you can't def do a heaping scoop and not just a light layer. One bagel definitely fills you up and one order of the cream cheese is enough for 3-4 bagels. I HIGHLY recommend stopping by here for some warm, fluffy, fresh circular bundle of carbs. Came here twice during my trip because once wasn't enough

If you're from California be prepared. Bagels come in a minimum of a three pack with a schmear and any other Schmear's are seven dollars. Also, they don't cut these bagels or toast them for you. They do come out warm and you rip and dip. Apparently that's the way New Yorkers do it. Overall, the bagel itself had a really great chewy texture and I loved the salt flakes on the salt bagel. But we probably just should've split a topping instead of getting an extra one. The scallion one was very yummy and tasted just like green onions.

I love PopUp Bagels for their cream cheese. They have a specialty cream cheese and butter that changes every few weeks or so, but always offer a classic plain and scallion cream cheese. This makes it a fun experience that is different on every visit. We ordered the 3 Bagels with 1 Spread for $9. It's fun to mix and match the bagel flavors as I got everything, sesame, and salt. The idea of spreading as much dip as you like is great as someone who loves cream cheese.

Waited around 5 minutes to order and less than 5 minutes to get our bagels and schmears, we shared the scallion cream cheese, truffle cream cheese and maple cinnamon butter. We got salt, sesame and everything bagel. We really enjoyed the scallion cream cheese, one of our favorites!

    Christine B.

Pretty solid bagels but the true star are their schmears!! Ditch the boring ole cream cheese-- and opt for a schemer instead! Their spreads are so creative and so delicious. During my visit during the summer, I tried out their extra hot honey peach schmear and hot honey butter. Both really nailed the balance between sweet and spicy- which are flavors I normally wouldn't gravitate towards but I am so glad I did because they were so yummy. I also like how their concept is to eat smaller bagels so you try different bites with their schmears. As someone who is indecisive and likes to try different flavors at a time, I like how they encourage people to try a couple of schmears at a time with their bagels instead of having to commit to a single spread when eating a bagel. A brilliant idea! Sadly, I'll have to deduct one star for the extremely loud music and customer service. It was actually deafeningly loud in this store-- I was right in front of the cashier and we still couldn't hear each other. I also found the staff to be a bit on the rude side. The cashier saw that we JUST came in and didn't yet have a moment to check out the menu when they insisted that we place our order. Luckily the bagels/schmears were good enough to put us back in a good mood, but definitely something to work on or else I'll be more inclined to go to another PopUp Bagel location.

I cant stop thinking about the bagel and green onion cream cheese . Please open a store in Virginia! The bagels are perfectly made, chewy warm and delicious!! I've had plenty of green onion cream cheese before but this place is number one on my list. If you are in New York, don't skip this place!

My family and I did a quick 36 hour trip to New York from California, and our very first stop after dropping our bags at the hotel was PopUp Bagels. This place is truly worth all the hype. I have never been somewhere so talked about and so deserving of it. These are by far the best bagels I have ever had, and I am so happy a Brentwood location is opening soon. The shmear was superb, and I highly recommend the scallion option, but I am definitely a scallion lover. The setup is unique and strictly to go. They do not assemble your bagel for you, instead everything is given separately so you can build your own lox bagel or simply "rip and dip" as they say. Their lox selection was excellent, and I would absolutely order it again. I would just prefer to take it home to assemble, because doing it in public was not very easy. The quality of all the food and ingredients is truly appreciated, and I cannot wait to become a Brentwood regular.

Visit June 2026: I'm…read moreadmittedly not a bagel expert but when in NYC a bagel is a must. Supposedly so is eating a street hot dog but I'm not too sure on that lol. Anyways, the girls had bookmarked another bagel establishment but the line was hella long like they were giving away Knicks gear for free. Ironically another "bagel shop" search on Yelp showed PopUp Bagels was like three doors down lol. No line! That in itself was making me question but there is a PopUp in San Diego that my daughter swears by. PopUp advertised itself as "Not Famous, but known." Whether or not this bagel is better than the one store three doors up is something I cannot attest to. However I can say THIS WAS A DANG GOOD BAGEL! And it was freshly made! How do I know? It literally burned my fingers when I ripped it open! The pain was worth it. Outside, a slightly crisp texture generously coated with "Everything". Inside was a dense and chewy dough that was pliable but able to withstand the dipping and shmearing of cream cheese (which was smooth). Best I have ever had for sure but then again my most common bagel experience is the place named after a scientist where tons of bagels are sitting in bins for who knows how long. So why wasn't this a 5-star experience? One, I only ate one thing. Two, sevice and setting are "just there". Considering it wasn't busy I would expect a bit more of a welcome. To eat you're bagel you can full on just leave, sit at the three stools inside where it is super hot (bc hey they actually cook), or three stand outside. There is a little, I'll say "patio", where you can stand, eat, and true story, watch two people argue about who gets to sort through the recyclables from the neighborhood eateries. Snack and a show???? I just stood near the door and enjoyed my bagel.

The bagel itself is pretty solid. It's fluffy and got a nice texture to it. Honestly though, I'm…read morenot sure I really fugg with the whole concept. You cannot order a single bagel, you must order your bagels in 3s. So if you're not a big back and instead are a loser with no friends, you might have more bagels than you can eat. The bagels come whole and you're supposed to rip them and dip them into the cream cheese, and there's many smears to choose from, which is a plus. However, this requires a two hand situation, which means it's difficult to eat on the go, and the seating inside is limited. I did not realize this at first and I was trying to slice my bagel in half with a butter knife, and I failed and started ripping it to shreds in a fit of passion and rage. That when I saw their neon sign that says "GRIP. RIP. DIP," which sounds sexual, and realized that's the concept and intention. My advice--if you're gonna visit, come with a couple friends so you can try the bagels without having to eat 3. And bring hand sanitizer so you're not ripping up the bagel with your filthy subway fingers.
