I really liked the polish dog with chili, cheese, and onions. The dog was grilled and had a nice snap to it. The fries were hot and seasoned well. I'd skip the onion rings; they were a disappointment (I hated the coating on them). The strawberry malt/shake tasted of fresh berries and was thick.

I really enjoy this Portillo's location. Every time I have visited, the food has been good and the service has been solid. The inside has that classic Chicago gangster theme that Portillo's is known for, which I think adds a lot of charm. This location does not seem very busy though, and I have barely ever seen the upstairs seating open, which is a bit of a bummer. It can also feel a little eerie when there are not many people inside. I usually go for the Italian beef sandwich and it never disappoints. I would skip the burgers since they taste a bit plain to me. I also recommend trying the birthday cake slice, it is really good.

The last time we visited the food was better. Don't miss the fries. My cheesesteak was okay but only a little cheese on the top and a lot came off with the wrapper. Not as good as last time. The chili dog was okay. The onion rings were very plain without any seasoning. How come the staff always look bored? Also, the tables were not wiped off. The place was almost empty and we had to hunt for a clean table.

We went for dinner. I thought I would try a dbl cheeseburger with bacon this time Also had the large fries with the cheese sauce on the side. As always the food was pretty good I thought the burger was a little greasy and to me the fries could have had a little more salt. This why it only gets 3 stars from ne today

We recently visited Portillo's and tried a mix of items: onion rings, fries, chicken sandwich, and the classic Chicago hot dog. The standout? Definitely the onion rings--crispy, golden, and full of flavor. The rest of the meal was solid, but nothing particularly memorable. We also grabbed a slice of chocolate and lemon cake to go, and honestly, dessert stole the show. Both cakes were light, moist, and packed with flavor. If I return, it'll be for the sweets. Portillo's knows how to end a meal right.

Absolutely love Portillos and this location was great. I got the Italian beef sandwiches and it was delicious. I got it dunked and with hot peppers which is definitely the way to go to get all the umami flavor with some spice. The staff is very nice and helpful, they missed my order so it took longer than expected but their customer service was great in response. The ambiance is always fun inside and I love the vintage signs and decor.

It was ok tonight. I ordered the beef and cheddar on croissant. It seemed like a regular bun. The fries we got were nice and hot and the cheese sauce was good. My husband liked his burger he got.

This is my second time to Portillo's and my first time to the Roseville location. Place is huge and spacious. Different areas for ordering and pickup. Lots of staff around, but honestly, not really available to help or say hello. It look at least 30 minutes for me to get signed up for the rewards program and to apply my free French fry for joining. Crazy how much of a process that was. Visited for a late night Friday dinner. Ordered Chicago dog, onion rings, and French fries. Food was fine. I wish the Chicago dog was much warmer. Onion rings were my favorite side. I could have passed on the French fries. I noticed the chocolate cake slice and knew I had to try that. It was good and if I'm in the mood for a slice of chocolate cake and I'm near a Portillo's I'd stop to get a slice. My friend tried the lemon cake and enjoyed that. I will mention in the restaurant they show slices of chocolate cake that are huge. However, my chocolate cake slice was maybe half the size of the ones displayed in the restaurant and on the app.

Food is amazing as always! My only complaint was the cleanliness of the restaurant. Not sure if they clean at the end of the day or when it's slow, but the bathroom was pretty messy as well as some booths and tables. We came around 4 pm, so not too busy but it did take us 5-10 min to order since the people in front of us took a whole. There is upstairs and downstairs seating. Employees were all friendly.

Right when we stepped into the restaurant, we noticed the floors were so sticky. We ordered the new spicy chicken sandwich, Chicago dog and the Polish dog. The Polish dog was pretty burnt and somehow tasted dry? There was no snap to both the Chicago hot and the Polish dog. The chicken on the spicy chicken sandwich was so dry that I considered not eating the rest of the sandwich. Quite disappointed that I requested the spicy sauce on the side and had to go back to ask for it. Likely will not want to come back. We overheard a lot of the restaurant staff yelling at each other in the back too, which was unprofessional.

We were excited to find Portillo's in Minnesota since it's original chain is out of Chicago! My Husband and I tried the big Italian beef, the polish and their chocolate cake shake. The big Italian tasted like it was devoid of flavor. It had all of the components of the Italian beef but lacked the juiciness. My polish dog was quite disappointing. It didn't have any flavor and the polish seem a bit overdone or just sitting under a warmer for too long that it dried out and became rubbery. The chocolate cake shake was amazing and probably the only reason why we would return. Service is fairly quick and the ambiance was nice and I loved the details around the restaurant.

More than 30 minutes for two chicago dogs. arrived cold. With cold fries. Do you see punch pizza across the parking lot? A better choice.

Our server was super nice and even gave us a discount for giving us the wrong food before we needed to mentioned it. I got the salted Carmel and brownie malt. They kinda lacked the brownie but was still good taste overall. Appetizer: Cheese curds were decent, not super strong flavor but not oily and decent portion. Side of onion rings were pretty good. Again not strong flavor but made well. Upcharge $2 (service didn't mention) Atmosphere: Kinda loud because it's a smaller restaurant and harder to hear the person across from you. Nice older classic decor and look. Been there since 1986. Unfortunately the entree food was not good... Disappointed on the California Burger. Had no flavor. The tomato was bland and soggy, the meat had no seasoning or flavor. The avocado was dull and tasteless, Only good part on it was the lettuce. My boyfriend order the turkey club but didn't get that, the server knew it was the wrong order but still brought it to us. My bf didn't want to say anything, and the server said he took something off the bill (which we thought meant took the sandwich off, but gave us $9 off the bill) Overall. It was a decent, the appetizer, and malts are nice. But I wouldn't go there for the entrees.

We got 2 burgers and 2 malts, both were good but nothing out of the park. The onion rings though are 10/10, perfectly crispy! We still enjoyed our time and will absolutely be back to try more items on the menu.

Even though they are usually in Mears or Rice Parks, which are located in downtown St. Paul. I mean for a hotdog cart or stand, their menu is real simple. Of course they never they seemed to be busy, with short spurts of people, so I never had to wait that long. I decided on a polish sausage, with some chips and soda to go with my meal. Now once I paid they were ready right there with my meal. Now of course having the toppings make my meal. Like sauerkraut, mustard and well maybe ketchup. Of course since I was hungry the food not only hit the spot, but I was able to devour my meal in one sitting. Now my sausage was thick and really juicy as well. The atmosphere was trying to be trendy with the neon signs, rustic-chic, exposed duct aesthetic. The server was amazing. Incredibly friendly and helpful with questions that our group had. The food was also way better than I feared it might be. I appreciated the build-your-own option for a lot of the dishes. I got a large salad with grilled shrimp and it was pretty good. The shrimp was flavorful and the salad bright. I used some of the cilantro salsa that came with the chips as dressing and it was great. It happened to be my birthday and they brought out some churros as a treat, which was really nice. The churros, however, were pretty bad. Super dense and chewy. The service definitely added an extra star and that waiter (I didn't get her name) should get some recognition. I would put this in the "group pleasing", "work happy hour" bucket of restaurants.
