The skin on the hot dogs were so tough to chew that no one finished their item. The fries were plentiful but bland. Even though she was whispering to me, the counter staff member kept asking me to repeat myself. She got several order items wrong, and I, as the customer, had to correct her. Was hungry and thought I would stop by and finally try a burger after all the hotdogs and cake I normally get. I stopped in and the place was super clean! The kiosk was giving me problems so I went to the counter where Grant did a great job helping me! I got a bacon cheese burger add grilled onions. I will say the fries are always fresh and crispy but the burger just wasn't it. It looked delicious but the patty was just warm not hot for just coming off the broiler. The grilled onions were room temp and tasted like smoke or bland flat top with burnt cooking oil. It was slow but I was starving so I ate everything in only a few minutes. Portillo's is always fun. The facility is large m, clean and beaming with activity. The staff her hustles and is moderately friendly as those focus on hustling you along. On this day the place was packed with ball players. This facility is close to a large ball park. So.. you might hit long lines if you don't time the ball games correct. The lines and wait times were long. This for a little frustrating for our party of four. The food moved right along until it got to the person who assembles the sandwiches. I thought it was odd that no one stepped up to help this per lady who was the bottleneck of the food assembly line. The outside patio was a great choice on this warm day. Lots of space inside and outside. All areas were comfortable and clean. I had the cheese burger on this trip. The meat was very tasty and cooked perfectly. The burger was moist and oozed taste. Arrived with a party of 8 people. We put together 4 tables and comfortable chairs. I am handicapped so my wife ordered for 5 of the crew. She advised the person took the orders was quick and knowledgeable. She advised the order process was streamlined. The kitchen area was spotless even after rush hour on a Sunday. Food was to order, Hot and tasty. For birthday cake we purchased a Chocolate cake. One cake served all 8 of us with cake left over to take home. The lady taking care of dining area was doing a great job keeping everything clean and stocked. Everyone was having a great time. Great place for family's to gather and have a meal. I hadn't been to a Portillo's in a long time so when I saw there was one in this area I definitely wanted to visit. I ordered 2 dogs with everything, onion rings, and an iced tea. It was as good as I remembered. You order at one if 3 touch screen kiosks and when your order is ready they holler out you number and you grab it and go sit down and eat. Service was very fast when I was there (although it was definitely an "off" time - like 315pm or so as I recall so really you wouldn't expect crowds or a wait. The decor is like any Portillos, I assume the service was friendly but really since you just order by tapping a touch screen the only interactions you get is the guy at the end of the counter hollering your number. Fresh salads, Chicago style dogs, and goodness. Yes, you will wait longer here than you will at other fast food places. I would not suggest if you were in a big rush. Good option if you want a bit of variety. They don't have a kids menu, but they do have a big catering menu if you need party prep help. We've done roast beef bars from here and it's good. Just make sure to get extra jar of the giardiniera. I like the big booths and old school feel. My daughter likes the fries, shakes and chicken. Bummer that they don't have a kids menu. read more

I love Chicago dogs...At 4:00 on Sunday, there was a short line at the drive through. They had 2 friendly clerks outside taking orders, my order was taken quick and I paid outside. I only waited about 10 minutes for my dogs, which I felt was as reasonable for freshly prepared food. There was a fellow outside rushing orders into cars. I could tell they are trying to get food out quickly. The dogs are great. The natural casing dog is juicy. The peppers have a great subtle heat. The dill pickle and green relish bring the perfect sour/sweet that you expect from a Chicago dog. The crinkle cut fries are a little disappointing. The fries are soft and over salted. As a former long time Chicago area resident I am a self-admitted Portillo's junkie. When the Westfield location opened I was elated and happy to drive the 5-1/2 miles from my house to have a jumbo dog, Italian beef, or a chopped salad 2-3 times per month. While I'm not able to go that often this past year, I'm still remain a die-hard fan. Food is consistently tasty and hot. Service WAS slow but has improved. Is it because this location doesn't have the traditional Portillo's culture where a sense of urgency is a core practice?? I use the drive-thru 80% of the time and they never have an outside "runner" that is commonly used in Chicagoland. As such, this slows things down. Again, service time has improved noticeably in 2025. If you haven't been there in a while, give Westfield a try/or another look. read more

My first time and my husbands second time. I had him pick us up dinner for Friday night on his way home from work. He ordered the Italian beef with sweet peppers. I tried his Italian beef because it looked tasty, but the meat was disappointing, had no flavor. He ordered a side of fries with cheese sauce as well. I had him order me the bacon cheeseburger with no bun. My burger was over cooked and taste burnt. I would not recommend this place.
