I'm a coffee snob, and while not my favorite coffee, they are good and definitely worth a try. Five stars goes to Portland coffee roasters for almost always being that coffee go to location as you get through security at PDX in the United terminal. This is true on almost every trip I make - including during COVID when everything else was closed. The staff are always friendly, welcoming and courteous. Thank you!

I grabbed some Portland French Roast K Cups and got a free cup of coffee - the Peru blend. Excellent quality coffee! Stylish cups too!

Be sure to check out the gluten free goodies they can even warm them up ! Excellent customer service . The coffee is never bad but it's a bit inconsistent .

After hunting and walking further than I desired for Starbucks (which is in the A gates, like seriously in the gates- we came back to where we began at Portland Roasting. I was pleasantly surprised to find a little elixir bottle of immunity booster. After receiving our order, we were going to take a load off at the tables we saw behind the shop. Apparently - they belong to the sit down restaurant next door. So, we found a better sit along the window watching the planes

Located at the very end of the C Concourse, near the McDonalds. Ok, I was bummed when The Coffee People left this spot, but I'm not from Portland so I don't know the history/reason for this change. But I AM a bagel snob (and hot wing snob) and this 'Everything' Bagel was just outstanding! Nicely done. Fresh, moist, toasted, big, and tasty. They only had a couple of bagels left and they only had 'Everything' Bagels. I can see why. They must go fast. But, $.50 for an extra packet of creme cheese to put on my big bagel? Come on now, coffee people, I mean Portland Roasting, no one charges for an extra one, not even Starbucks. The packet I got didn't even cover half of my bagel. :( I probably should have splurged and got one since the bagel was actually very cheap, but it was about principle at that time. Oh, and speaking of charging, they charge .10 for each honey stick that lay out next to the sugar, cream, straws, etc. Really??? Really? That's not cool. That's a Starbucks move. The staff was very kind and all the baked goods looked good. Oh, the pumpkin bread was really expensive too! WTH?!?! I'll be back for a bagel and BYO Cream Cheese. ;)

It's unfortunate that so many things seem to be getting out of reach of many Americans. I wish I had the magic wand that would make it so that more people could afford what they needed and that the business owners would still make a decent profit and share some of that with their employees in the form of living wages and benefits. I'm old school and we managed to both save and invest during our working lives. And now in retirement, we still don't spend like there's no tomorrow. If we can't afford something, we just don't do it.

I tried something new and went with the Saparilla Spice Latte at the recommendation of the barista. Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan. I thought the oak milk flavor overwhelmed anything but the spice. I thought this would be mostly flavor spicy, but it was actually REALLY hot spicy. I couldn't actually finish it between not being thrilled with the flavor and the spiciness. I would come back and try a latte, perhaps with their house made butterscotch and rosemary syrup, but I likely won't go too far out of my comfort zone next time.
