Positanos has good pizza but in my opinion their pasta dinners are even better! One of my favorite dishes is the baked mostaccoli. They are also the only Italian place near midway that I know of who makes an eggplant Parmesan sandwich which is must for everyone to try. They also sell pizza slices which is always a plus if your looking for something fast without ordering a whole pizza. I haven't really had anything from Positanos that isn't good. The only reason I didn't give their pizza 5 stars is because I feel like they put too much cheese and not enough sauce on their pizza. But again that's my own opinion. Reg crust pizza is delicious, I think is the best around this area you can taste the sauce it's not super thin and it looks great lived around area for couple years now always overlooked this place until last week when I decided to order elsewhere from the norm I also order a small deep dish but I would give that a 6 out of 10 it was so so cheese was stuck to box sauce seemed thin or water down geordanos would be the king of that but reg pizza that was just good!!! read more

I lived really close to this place and my laziness to cook always drove me to there! Their pizza is really good...they are not greedy with the cheese...mmm...cheese...the sauce is good...not bland! Also, their lasagne is pretty darn good...mmm want some right now! I've eaten here plenty of times and not once have I ever been disappointed!!! We ordered their deep dish sausage pizza. It has lots of sauce and cheese, and is a decent pizza. It's taste declined slightly when reheated the next day in the oven. We will keep searching for the top pizza place in the area. read more

This is very good pizza I grew up a few blocks away and I can remember eating from here often. It has a very thick crust and a lot of cheese and fast! So if you like the thin crust this pizza is not for you! Where I live now they only have super thin crust and I guess it's a good thing cause you definitely can't eat this to often. read more

We got a delivery order of deep dish pizza from P-O-S-itanos. They got the order wrong, and when we called them back, refused to send out the right pizza. We had to call back several hours later to speak with the manager who said he'll send out someone with a refund. That person never came. Lou Malnati's has way better food and service. read more

I'm not sure if we just picked a busy time but for Super Bowl Sunday we had some food delivered. My husband and I both had completely different food and honestly I can't recall what I had all I know is it made us both sick almost immediately after eating. I have become an addict lately. Their stuffed is just soooo good. Far better than Giordano's. I saw that they get their sausage from Anichini Bros., which is an excellent sausage company. We were on our way back to Indiana, so had our pizza 'in'. Only three tables in the place, but it was worth it. We had thin crust with all fresh ingredients and plenty of real mozzarella. Something has changed!! I Ordered a Medium special pizza it was $20 (a bit expensive if you ask me). The pizza was ready for pick up in about half an hour. Be sure to ask them to make the crust extra thin. For some reason there thin crust comes thick which is why I ask for extra thin. Just personal preference. This pizza place over exceeded my expectations. I was 100% satisfied. The taste was on point. I didn't expect much from a tiny pizza joint but I will definitely be a returning customer. I gave Positano's Pizza a three star rating only because they are little pricey. read more

My favorite Italian joint by far in the south side of Chicago, everything fresh and cooked at is best.

The deepdish here was a perfect mix of gooey, soft, flavorful goodness with a nice crust on the bottom. Chose spinach, basil, and sausage as my toppings. It really was outstanding, there's no other way to put it. I also enjoyed the atmosphere. Huge plus that it's not a chain restaurant. Felt more like a family style place. read more

While I waited for my pizza I noticed they put frozen chicken and other pizza ingredients in the microwave. This really bothered me, but I didn't say anything since what i ordered didn't require any microwave heating, that's what i hope. The pizza it's self seemed to taste very bland. The mozzarella tasted like melted plastic. I do like the fact that the establishment had at least 7 neighborhood teenagers working for them. We've been ordering from Positano's for over 5 years as our main spot.. not anymore! We ordered a XL regular crust pizza which came super thin, this has never happened. We didn't really think to much and thought we accidentally ordered thin crust. Next time we ordered, the pizza came super thin again. We called to see if they changed their recipe.. the phone clerk said it depends on the pizza maker..( which we didn't believe because again, we have been ordering for over 5 years and this inconsistency has never happened). We spoke to the manager and were told that the pizza dough thickness depended on the humidity, (so in 5+ years of ordering.. it's never been humid until these 2 separate times we ordered within 2 weeks apart??) It's a shame that this was our favorite place and we ordered for parties, super bowl, baseball games.. and now we're switching spots. Sauce is good & tangy, GREAT cheese.. just too inconsistent of a place for us now. They also no longer give out liters of pop with your purchase like before (Cook County Bev tax??) read more

We usually order the thin crust pizza from here and out of the probably 15 times we have ordered maybe only once it was not to our satisfaction. I wish to try the stuffed pizza soon as I've always been tempted but we always go with what we know and that's their delicious thin crust. I ordered a deep dish sausage and mushroom pizza to be delivered. The pizza was flavorful and delicious. The ingredients were fresh and the sausage a tiny bit spicy, just the way its supposed to be. The sauce needed a little more flavor in comparison to other places but still very good. Can't go wrong. Pizza delivery guy was prompt but looks a little intimidating.
