I have sent two packages through the Postal Annex in the past 6 months. 1 the contents were completely destroyed by the time they reached the. I gave them another opportunity late October. It is now mid November in the package still has not arrived. It is a domestic package. Postal Annex is a dismissive and blames the post office yet the package has not shown up anywhere as being scanned by the post office. The package I sent October 27th shows as still being in San Diego on November 13th. There were over a hundred and fifty other packages sent both domestically and internationally through this company that have already arrived according to USPS. Postal Annex should make more of an effort to assist in finding this package considering they are the one I paid the money to. Very disappointing and really poor service. I recommend going elsewhere read more

Bad experience due to passport picture being rejected by Canadian passport office for "non uniform lighting, show no flash refection shadow or glare on face". Called to have them say yes they would take the picture again, but could not say it would not be rejected again and I had approved the picture before I sent it. I said I did not know the lighting aspect that is why I came to them to take the international passport photo. I was offered a refund if I produced the receipt even thought their place of business had to endorse the back of one of the photos to be accepted. I asked if they would mail the passport application to save me the cost of it being rejected again; they stated "they are not responsible for mailing". How ironic a Postal Annex is not responsible for mailing. read more

We needed to repackage everything to prevent anything from breaking. She was very knowledgeable about my options and she worked very efficiently. There are 17 reviews of this Postal Annex (PA). 6 are good. This is a horrific percentage for a small business that needs customers. I have used this PA a few times. I totally concur with the reviews wherein the rudeness of the staff is mentioned. In fact, the people at this PA are innovatively rude. If you have to pick up a Fedex package that you had delivered there, they actually tell you that its a lot of trouble to look for it! I thought of taking this up with Fedex, directly (this has happened to me twice, and to my wife at least twice, maybe more) but am hoping that this review will, instead, get something changed. I want to make sure I'm perfectly understood...the people at this PA are RUDE, unfriendly, grumpy, you name it. Never in my life have I ever been more disrespected. I called this location at 9:00am(twice) when they apparently open and 9:15am when Raika finally answered. I simply asked why my package had not moved from the facility as I dropped it off two days ago excluded Sunday; after bringing up a previous review of this facility when someone else's package sat there for 4 days I wanted to be reassured this wouldn't happen to mine and the rude "manager" Raika had the audacity to start yelling at my over the phone. When asking about previous concerns from customers I should not be yelled at and disrespected for bringing up your poor customer service. I dropped a box last Friday and told the clerk to use the fastest shipping method. I was told the box can arrive in three days. Today (4 days later), I found the box is still at the store. When I called the store, at first I waited for at least 5 minutes for the owner to speak with me since she was serving other customers. Then she told me the tracking # isn't UPS tracking # then hung up. When I called again, she acknowledged it is UPS tracking # and found the box, but told me to go to her store to pick it up as UPS driver refused to take it without specific reasons then hung up again. My advise: if you want to keep being a kind and happy person, please leave far away from that store. read more

Shipping surcharge is not clearly disclosed. I've shipped a few packages here - thinking that I was getting a relatively good price as they advertise comparing shipping rates and they say they can get better rates than individual customers due to their high-volume discounts with carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS). However, when I've gone online to compare prices I've found it would have been much less expensive (e.g. $45 vs $65) to go online and print a FedEx or UPS shipping label myself then drop the package off at a shipping store. So there is a significant surcharge / service fee added on by postal annex. Look at other reviews and you'll see similar stories. I don't know if it's specific to this location - it's may just be how postal annex does business. read more

I usually prefer going here rather than the usps because there is no line most of the time and the employees always try to help me and get me the beat deal for shipping items. But this time I go in, and this Indian lady that I have never seen tries to make me pay $10 for to small first class packages envelopes! I ship these type of envelopes all the time (same weight and size), and it never cost me more than $2.50! Then I tell her that's not possible, then she answers it's $8 actually. How did the price change like that? Was she trying to rip me off or what? Then I still argue this price and she becomes rude saying that the computer came out with this price and that's what I have to pay or she is going to remove the label and I can go somewhere else! I was shocked how she was talking to me, so annoyed and upset. Thank god the other lady that was working there helped me out and got the price down to $5, which is what I was expecting to begin with. Don't bother to go there for their passport picture and notary services. They prioritize other services. On 12/15/2014, after I picked up my kids from school and met up with my husband there at 3:40 pm. My husband was there bit earlier and asked the blonde lady if they do passport pictures and notary services, and she said yes, we do. He said ok my wife and kids will be in 2 minutes, then suddenly when I arrived there is a line. We waited in the line for 40 minutes, then finally our turn came up. The orange haired slim guy said oh there are boxes over there, so we can't do it. My husband got upset and said why didn't you tell us at the beginning and of course the both employees seem to be overwhelmed with long line and couldn't meet our needs. We left and vowed not to come back. I was hoping to get it all done and get my package mailed with Fed Ex by 4 pm. Instead I went to Kinko's and they took care of it less than 5 minutes. read more

The pictures here are very poor quality. Worse, the lady (short blond hair) who took the picture did not tell me that my eyes were half closed in the photo she chose to develop! Make SURE you check your photo on the computer screen before she prints it out or before you pay. read more

Passport photo quality was subpar. Pictures were taken with a small camera and the lady did not know how to use it. Pictures she took either came out blurry or with a shadow, which would not work for a passport photo- I wasn't able to get my passport photo within the 30 min she wasted because of her poor photography skills. The photos were also overpriced. They charged me $19 for two passport photos and the sizes didn't even come out right. When I told her the size was off, she simply told me to "cut off the edge". I would never come here again and would recommend you to do the same. read more

Terrible customer service. The last two times (about a month a part) I have come in to drop off a package the employees had been nose deep in to their cell phones and hadn't noticed me standing there until I cleared my throat. Then the look on these kids faces behind the counter was if I had disturbed their social media zen. I ask for some help and without even looking to see what they needed to help me with, they simply stayed across the other side of the store saying just leave the package on the counter. I informed them I don't have the materials and wanted to make sure it was packaged correctly. They acted like it was an inconvenience to put a little effort into helping me out to make sure my package was good to go. I went to a different UPS drop off on Comino del sur where customer service was what we expect it to be. This Postal Annex has everything you would expect and provides every postal, packaging, shipping, faxing, private mail boxes, notary public, etc., service; even passport photos. Service is great and working with the personnel is a pleasant experience. In 1986, this postal annex was the first franchise Postal Annex to open. I began doing business with them in 1987, opening a private mail box. I use the private mail box for both personal mail and for my small business. I have visited this Postal Annex nearly every day for 31 years. Yes, it is a small business itself and they need to cover their expenses and make a profit. Of what business is this not true? In any case, I find that the service here is a true value. Every time that I am forced to be in a U.S. Post Office, I am reminded why I patronize this Postal Annex. Note that the U.S. Post Office has not made a profit since 2006. The USPS service reflects this reality. The USPS blames lack of profit on their being mandated to prefund years of retiree health benefits. Who knows, but I keep having bad experiences at the USPS. And in my USPS home mail box, I keep getting my neighbors' mail, including W2 Forms and tax returns. I have no idea where my own home mail winds up. Regarding this Postal Annex, I have read negative reviews here on Yelp. Maybe some of these reviews are actually real and legitimate. Well, everyone has a bad day once in a while. I love this place! I needed some help shipping some presents but didn't have the right size box so I went to this store and they were so helpful & found me a perfect box, helped me pack up the presents & shipped it for me. I didn't realize that they also have such a good selection of unique gifts and cards. By the time I left the store I had spent more that I planned but came away with some really nice stocking stuffers and gifts. I will definitely be going back to this store! read more

I always try to avoid this postal annex due to the fact of the blonde manager lady who's in charge and the staff there seem depressed and not happy to be working there. They overcharged me two times and have short changed me. I view the store owner of this particular franchise as a cheap person. They wanted to charge me for 2 pieces of tape and today i wanted to buy an envelope that you could get anywhere with bubble wrap at the post office $1.20 which is less then a mile here after tax came to $2.21 on top of that they made me have to walk to the bank on the other side of the parking lot because apparently they don't like people who pay for anything less then $5 they will not accept debit/or credit unless it's met that. I had another crappy experience which i contacted them several months ago about (blonde lady) she didn't tell me the price of the overcharged shipping box's but insisted i write on them before she charged me for them. and when i was going to pay for them i paid $6 when at the post office it's completely free! Then when i tried leaving because i only had $4 on me she told me i couldn't leave to get more cash i had no card's on me and i got in a heated argument saying i wasn't allowed to leave. short story short.
